Mechis III

Dwight sensed Master Stellar's approach and moved to the door to great him. The charred, lifeless body of a Jedi was in his hands. He could scarcely believe someone could do such a thing to another living being, but in this galaxy he knew there were deviants out there that could and would do anything to get by in this life time. They were just misguided sheep though, in dire need of a shepherd.

"Are we taking him back to Helix now?"

He looked over the body slowly, examining it closely. He was beyond the aid of the force it would seem, there was nothing they could do to bring him back now. He was one with the force, at peace now. Dwight nodded his head out of respect for the man. He had devoted his life to the Order and given it up...a True Jedi.

::Dagon landed on the surface of Mechis III and immediately began interfacing with the droid hivemind. Apparently it had switched sides after the Dark Lord's demonstration of power and was now in service to the Sith. His first priority would be to begin construction of the Celeris device, while Tethyn saw to the creation of the labs. Dagon did not consider droids to be simple slave labor, such an indignation was reserved for the alien species. Droids had a cruelty and purity to them that Dagon could respect. As construction began, he signaled to the Genesis division to begin its work, soon the first wave of clone populations would emerge.

Clone engineers helped oversee the construction of the Celeris device while Dagon saw to the intracacies of the device.::

Tristin stood above the body of the fallen Jedi, holding his light saber above him. His eyes closed he began to focus and the Force shifted and swirled around the fallen body. A light grew around Achzet's body until it covered it completely, forming a cocoon of light. Tristin's eyes shot open as he stated the phrase.

Break the Cycle

At once the light faded away, leaving darkness at first with but a silhouette at its core. The eyes of those present, eventually were able to see with clarity that Achzet's body was whole once more. The more shocking fact was that the body was breathing slow shallow breaths.

It is soulless as of now; the spirit needs to heal before it can return to its body. In three days this Jedi will awaken, revitalized.

After the well needed nap, his eyelids opened prematurely to the motion of his eyes rolling forward, revealing the back of them if but for a brief moment before both dull grey hues turned over. Stretching out the kinks in his back, due to the fairly akward position he had rested against the metal lined booth, the Sith Lord strutted forward, noticing the arrival of the clones shortly therefore. A hand marked across one of their shoulders, stopping them inmidst of duty, calling in a very friendly tone of voice..

”œExcuse me, solider, but perhaps you can help me out. Might I speak with your commanding officer?.. The name's Tethyn, commit it to memory.”

Drakens head snapped up as he began to look around. He found himself to be floating in a large glass tank in a rather unusual liquid. He strained his eyes before noticing a switch on the out side that would drain his tank. Flinging out his arm in a force push, he triggered the switch that drained the tank.

The tank made a rather annoying slurping sound and slowly emptied itself of the strange liquid. A small beeping noise alerted a stormtrooper nearby, who came running over. The stormtroper open the tank and Draken's body now racked with pain would have fallen to the floor if it hadn't have been for the stormtrooper catching him.

The stormtrooper quickly whistled for a partner to join him, as they lowered Draken to the floor. The first stormtrooper looked over at the table where there lay a black robe. Motioning toward the table, the second stormtrooper grabbed the robe and laid it over Draken's body, as a scream rings out from Draken.

The troopers jumped back slightly rattled, they couldn't understand what was happening. They watched in shock as Draken stood to his feet and cracked his neck twice, once on either side. He turned to the troopers and motioned to the second one. "Sir?"

"Point me to the exit of this infernal building."

"In that direction, Sir." Draken turned and walked out of the building and onto the planet floor if it could be called such. Drakens lips curled in disgust as he noticed the droids. Then his head spun around as he noticed what his head lying on the ground a short distance from the remainders of his body.

Draken motioned with his hand and the force, causing his weapons to fly from the body and into his hands. He strapped them onto his body and then bent down by the head and removed the earrings that were still on the head. He put them into his pocket, turned and walked back to his ship.

Standing by his ship, he reached out with the force to find his missing saber. In a short time he located it in the possession of a Sith that he reconized. It was in the possession of Dominque, he reached out with the force and grasped his saber. Touching her mind briefly, he removed the saber from her grasp and let it fall back into his own.

With that done, he boarded his ship and shut the hatch. he went straight to the cockpit and found that the ship was still on stand by. He took the controls for the first time in his new life and slowly lifted it off of the ground. Draken guided it into space and waited till the ship left the gravity well before he pulled back the lever and leapt into hyperspace, headed toward the Sith Academy once again.

Dwight watched as the light grew around Achzets body until he could no longer see it. His curiosity had peaked at about the same time. He had never seen anything like this, but he wanted to know what it was. He shook his head slowly, pushing the thought away as well as tossing his unkempt brown hair back and forth. Now was not the time to get an explanation for such a thing. The words from Tristin made him jump slightly, but only served to bring his wonderment to new heights.

When the light finally did fade Dwight looked upon the unaltered body of the Jedi Knight. He was in a state of shock as he stared at the body, his mouth slightly agap at what had just happened. The fact that he noticed the mans chest slowly moving up and down signified that he was alive. He was unsure if he knew what he had just witnessed. Had the leader of the Jedi just brought another back to life through the use of the force?"

"What..what was that?"

Achzet slowly opened his eyes. He looked around him and noticed two jedi.

"Wha... what happened? Wher... where am I?"

Achzet noticed that one of the Jedi was Master Tristin. He was in fact the leader of the Jedi. He was honored to be with him, but Achzet wondered how he got there.

After many laborous hours taxing the crews, the foundation and all its structures had been completed with precision and efficency, both the two necessary key elements to any project such as this. With what little rebellion quelled on behalf of the Jedi, though the foul stench teemed at the senses as clear as rotting flesh, plans had be done as scheduled. Closing his eyes, the Sith Lord imparted the veil of the dark side amoungst the lands, wraveling around his crew and holding the next phase particularly secret from the most pure of eyes.

Exhausting the last breathe required for the short ritual, he turned to meet the visor of the clone captain who had been loyal to his duty and oversaw that his voice be heard through the ones he commanded.

”œYour men have done well.. I shall allow a short break as the landers make final descent upon the site to release the refined materials needed. See to it that they remain on standby for the approach.”

There was nothing left for her on this planet. She had served her purpose, she had sated her blood lust for the time being upon the Jedi Achzet. Now she would take her leave. Perhaps head to the Sith temple to complete Yue's training. She could feel he was very far along in it, he just needed to learn control and construct a weapon most likely. Two difficult tasks no doubt, but he would complete them or die by her hand.

The young woman moved towards her ship, sensing Yue had obeyed her she smiled. It was good to have an obedient little apprentice, as disobedience would force her to slay someone. More then likely the one that had committed such an atrocity.

Entering her ship she ignored the dark haired Sith and fired up the controls, blasting off of the conqoured planet.

Ow!! Not good, Darex thought as Haphaestus' lightsaber came glancing into his shoulder. He grimaced, and vented the pain off into the Force. Just as he was focusing on that, a crate came hurtling at him, knocking him off his feet.

Though he was severly tempted to curse, Darex bit his lip and ducked the next few crates. He leaped, twisted, and ducked. A few of the crates he had to deflect off with a Force shove of his own, but most he managed to dodge. As he did, he stuck his lightsaber into each one, reducing them to scrap wood. Eventually, the Sith was going to run out of crates.

A few minutes later, just that happened, and Darex decided that this was his chance. He twirled his lightsaber, then charged, attacking Haphaestus with a Force-enhanced flurry, followed by an intense rain of heavy blows. Backing off, he parried a few of the returning slashes while focusing on the Sith Lord's lightsabers. Using the Force, he tried to reach inside the mechanisms and disable them. It was tricky work, but finally, he succeeded in knocking one of the crystals out of place, causing the hilt to explode in the Sith Lord's hand.

Now that it was down to one-on-one blades, Darex felt that the battle was much more even. He knew it was probably a battle he wasn't going to win, but he was willing to do anything to protect the innocent people of Mechis III, even if it meant giving up his life. That was the duty of a Jedi, the duty of his whole life. And he would sacrifice that life if it came down to it.

But Darex didn't intend to die here. He intended to give this battle his all, and he intended to come out of it alive. There was still much he had to do with his life, and he wasn't ready for it all to come down to this battle.

He continued to swing and parry, locked in the deadly but beautiful dance of combat, a pure extension of the Force more and more.

Haphaestus was swift to react to the Jedi's counterattacks. He parried without giving ground, on his toes to allow for easy movement and balance but unyielding in motion. He simply placed one of his lightsabers precisely were it needed to be in any given instant to protect himself. Each parry was effectual and efficient, requiring minimal movement despite the fact that Haphaestus did not grow tired.

Conversely, of course, was his opponent, who despite the Light Side he served continuously grew a little more weary. Haphaestus was a being of calculations and percentages, and his chances of victory increased every moment that he continued defensively.

That percentage took a considerable hit when Darex reached out with the Force to knock the lightsaber crystal in one of his weapons out of alignment. Unfocused, the beam of energy extended and impacted with the ground, making a considerably large explosion of energy. Its loop broken, the weapon quickly drained what remained of its energy supply and fell silent. Its shape and function did not permit any damage to the weapon, but it was useless until recharged.

Holding onto his lightsaber despite its state of disuse, Haphaestus continued to fight unimpaired. His opponent continued to attack him, and he continued to parry, giving in to some slow footwork, strafing around the Jedi before him. Randomly, he leaned abruptly and flexibly backwards and let the Jedi's blade pass just over his chest. Darex followed with another attack, and Haphaestus twisted his body aside to avoid it, as well. Three more slices were followed by three more dodges--the Jedi was simply swinging at air.

Choosing his time to attack for Darex's broadest swing, Haphaestus struck with the hilt of his deactivated weapon, jabbing it into Darex's stomach fiercely. The Jedi grunted and doubled over, and Haphaestus kicked him with a metal leg sheathed in skin. Darex stumbled back and toppled, and Haphaestus forced his way into the Jedi's surface thoughts.

The former droid was amused--his opponent was running through almost pre-programmed messages of self-righteousness and "just" intentions, meaningless self-motivations and pathetic emotions. No, this was not how the Force was supposed to be used. This was the way of a coward, the way of one so lost that they would rather die than begin to truly understand the Force that they claimed to serve.

Haphaestus projected dispair and distress, manic desperation and uncontrollable fear into Darex's mind. He knew that the Jedi would use his stupid self-righteous charade to convince himself to overcome the "negative" emotions, but the Sith Master moved in, lightsaber held ready, to end the Jedi's life on that note of despair and loss--organics were cursed in that their emotions affected their ability to fight.

As Haphaestus' leg connected with Darex's, sending him flying back, Darex knew he was in trouble. He landed with a thud, and knew that his leg was most likely broken, even if it was only a hairline fracture. The Sith Lord's leg was like steel.

Suddenly, he felt a wave of despair come over him. For a moment, he faltered, caught off-guard by the emotion. He had faced harder opponents than this and come out alright...not that he could think of any at the moment, but that was beside the point. Then he recognized what was happening. He felt the Sith Lord's presence in his mind, and his thoughts cleared into pure crystal. He managed a faint grin as he pushed the Sith Lord out and filled himself with the soothing presence of the Force.

"Is that....the...best you can do?" he grunted. Haphaestus chose that moment to come at him, lightsaber high. Darex rolled under the swing, and stood, balancing his weight off his bad leg. The move caught Haphaestus off-guard, and Darex took the opportunity to swing at a fracture in the Sith's cortosis armor. The blade connected with the back of Haphaestus' knee and embedded itself in the being's flesh, practically taking the limb off.

As Haphaestus fell back, Darex frowned. "Look where all of your 'ultimate power' has lead you," he said. "This is where the light side is stronger. Not in raw power, or the ability to dominate and kill, but in the power to preserve life. To know when you have been defeated. To protect others and yourself. To give the strength that comes from hope, and knowing that you are fighting to save others."

He fell silent as Haphaestus picked himself up, then shook his head. "Unfortunately, I know that is something that you will not recognize."

With the Force as his backup, he threw himself at the Sith Lord, blue blade flashing, engaging him in a last stand before the end of the fight. They battled it out, both with surprising speed, but only one with a ferocity. Darex merely fought because he had to, because there was no other way for him to fulfill his duty, and that was reflected in his style.

Silently, he stepped back, reached out with the Force, and picked up a large boulder. He sent it hurtling towards Haphaestus, knowing that if the rock hit it's target, it would take the Sith Lord completely out of the battle...

Cracking the surface of the murky cloud enshrouded planet brought no mind to Exodus when he was so imprisoned by this impulsive internal evolution. The habiting echo of a reinforced boot striking the durasteel flooring was the only noticeable sound that filled the still air as the vessel floated over the broken down landscape. Familiar presences were a slight indication to who still remained on this infected world, but he would have to personally see to just who they were.

In another instance, Exodus found himself flawlessly landing onto an uneven surface, looking out into the horizon, and stretching his existing ominous core across absent oceans of time and space itself; channeling its voice through but a sigh. His movements were comparable to such as he sleuthed onward, seeking something he couldn't even describe.

At first he assumed he was here to simply retrieve Haphaestus, but his battle ensued ”“ A rather lengthy duel at that. There was something more to this though, as thoughts rummaged over the sound of construction in the distance, they really planned to turn this place into something more.

He'd have to find someone in charge and get specific details on what was going on.

After making a brief talk with Lord Dagon, the two had diverted once more. Former master and apprentice going seperate ways although both paths followed down the same plan. The Sith Lord was extremly pleased with the newly held responsibility; not only guarding and monitoring the operations on Kamino, but as well, the progress in the cybernetics department here on Mechis III. While it presented another task for him to do, diverging from his original plans to recreate his personal arsenal, as well as continue to enrich the lives of his now plentiful apprentices, the man wanted to do it all the same.

..Confidence is the main cornerstone to victory. I have every bit that I can perform this task required of me, as well as fully comply with my former duties; not only to myself, but to my comrades.

Fastening his cloak chain's tighter against the folds of his neck and taking a few steps out from the project ditch the two were conversing in, a solemn thought trickled into his mind before becoming engulfed by various ideas with the functions as new head of the cybernetics department.

I'll be far more busy, but I'm sure it shall have its advantages as well.. I shall make time for all those now.

Along his journey, he spotted a man that looked fairly familar, both in presence and in spirit. The long silver haired man brushed his arm against his shoulder, staring deeply into his eyes with his own grey pools.

On a flutter ”“

Maybe even an impulse. A flawlessly crafted lightsaber orbited about dexterous fingertips. The intricately snake designed instrument of ancient mindlessly flashed a bevy of blackened crimson. Solely primal instinct, but nowadays one could never be so certain when climbing the monumental stepladder of success. Both men shared a fierce intensity within their eyes alone, which was enough to dignify a respectable encounter from Exodus' perspective.

”œAh, Tethyn.”

Trailing the eccentric Tethyn throughout flourishing halls, Exodus' took in the entire concept of the atypical building. Impressive was the nature of it all, for in his preceding stay, destruction laid everywhere. Appropriate robes fastened to a remarkable brassard gave the Sith Master a most menacing presence. His eyes laid focus to where he was headed rather than the intricacies of the inner-workings, and a contemptuous smile widened as he took note of how quickly this order assimilated an entire planet.

What was next?

Time moved onward, and Exodus now found himself seated in the company of the enigmatic Sith Lord; his intentions were still unclear, and Exodus grew impatient, but answers came nonetheless. He'd remain silent; arms crossed over his muscled chest, listening intently. As uninformed as he was, he wondered if this was how the life of a Sith Master was carried out; how inadequate it was.

Another laborer made his service available as he brought forth formalities to the table. Being presented with a drink soon after, Exodus merely shrugged as he considered the situation at hand. Apparently the Dark Lord operated under more undisclosed methods then he had first thought. No matter, he would involve himself into the affair one way or another.

Making himself more at home, Exodus kicked back; loosening the tension he had first held before lying back in the well-appointed chair. Ignoring the drink, Exodus once again examined the building from this room's perspective and narrowed his eyes in thought. His emerald eyes pierced the darkness and worked in perfect harmonization with the dim lighting, while his icy tone of voice froze over;

”œShow me more.”

It was obvious that this man knew not of who he spoke too in such a taxing manner. Conveniently, Exodus took nothing of it. Other Masters of the art would be the first to take opportunity of this and smite the lack of consideration shown before them in faultless simplicity. Rather, Exodus was not in the mood, having been satisfied by the sumptuous remains of his imprudent mentor previously.

The command put forth onto his associate must've been going to the man's head, lending him far more self-assurance then desirable. Still, he could respect this man too some degree, even though he detested swaggering attitudes. Eyes would roll with boredom as Tethyn continued on about his own personal drive, what made him potent etcetera.

”œSlow down, Tethyn.”

The flagrant arrogance commited by the first taunt curved a brow down from its rather fine position over his eyes to a vexed angle across those grey hued orbs. Clearly, this was not something to be said, especially when he merely was trying to subjugate a reasonable conversation between his new guest. It was only after the other words were spoken did that flare of anger begin to wether and fade, the pale eyes peering amoungst the background that remained shuffling around began to receed back into the darkness from which the creatures came.

He sat motionless, acknowledging the compliments as well as making nothing more of them then what they were. An ignition of bona fide ember swelled within him as one would expect, the way this one spoke was defiant but at this point it was tolerable. Fact was that their principles, ideology, and beliefs, were fundamentally the same from these circumstances. If Tethyn dared to cross the boundaries, Exodus would have to become hard and set things in its proper manner, but for now they were ”˜partners'.

Exodus leaned forward, offering his own arm out in extension. The formality was unusual but this respect Tethyn mentioned was definitely a quality he once held strong, even to this day. Furthermore, this proposal that the Sith Lord brought forth was very much captivating, considering the mention of him actually teaching Exodus' something. Not that it wasn't possible, but more to the point of; ”œWhat could he possibly teach him?”

Throughout the entire presentation and thereafter, Exodus remained silent but stood with an influential weight about him. To no avail, he absorbed all that was necessary to properly function around these parts. His adaptive skills were beyond comprehensible, something aided by the force certainly and that of superior intellect. For now, he sat back and allowed the knowledge to swell into his mind as he grasped the entirety of this whole operation.

The Imperial laborers proved to be more than effective in their own respective fields, and in turn, Exodus was definitely impressed with their exertion. Upon return, they would reveal to him personally what their accomplishments and development stood at. For now though, the thought of another journey did not bother him at all. His previous concerns were left behind with Haphaestus as he pursued his intentions, and Exodus moved onto his own.

In the ruling on the duel between Darex Trevelian and Haphaestus. I feel that Haphaestus is the victor. Awesome duel guys. I love reading duels like that... Sorry Trevelian you did an awesome job, but Haphaestus just showed me he was the better fighter here.

::Dagon activated the Celeris Device, and waves of energy coursed over the entire planet. Shaking and shuddering, the world slipped out of real space at one point and entered it at another, the new Sith industrial star system. The planet was nearing full clone population, as more and more loyal citizens of the Empire were created in the cloning structures. Most of these clones were technically proficient, designed to work with and communicate to machines. These clones would begin working with the Mechis AI to create new machine warriors under the guidelines of Dagon. With his work here complete, Dagon set course for home to begin on his next project.::

Haphaestus felt the wound on the back of his knee--one of the few places where a lightsaber could damage him--but didn't dwell on it. It wasn't a terribly deep wound, and it barely penetrated his skin before being able to press on any further. His servomotor was intact and his knee unhindered but for temporary pain, which disappeared a second later when the skin healed itself back to operating efficiency.

The former general of Nurgle engaged then in perhaps the most powerful and fast leg of the battle. He fought with the ferocity that he knew his opponent had come to expect from him and did so without restraint. The battle was primarily offensive for him, and he was gaining ground consistently. That was not to say that the Jedi did not attack him--both were determined to deal the killing blow.

Finally, Darex stepped backwards and drew on the Force. He lifted a rather large boulder that would, perhaps, have the means to knock Haphaestus down, though he would be undamaged due to the all but impenetrable shell of his armor. Rather than even take the hit, however, Haphaestus drew on the Force himself, though it was the Dark Side that fuelled him.

He did not rush the Jedi, but watched as the boulder moved towards him, picking up speed. At the last possible moment, he called on all his wratch and created in the boulder an unbeleivable heat, a smeltering flame that could consume the least flammable of materials. The rock immediately lit up a bright, stinging red, then exploded into a million shards of superheated material.

These shards bounced harmlessly off Haphaestus' armor, but they burned upon meeting Darex's robe and flesh. Haphaestus chose that moment to dash forward, summoning Dark Side lightning as he did so. Darex staggered back from the barrage and swung defensively once, letting the Force guide his blow much as he should have.

Haphaestus didn't block it. He deliberately moved his blade aside and let the Jedi's weapon bounce harmlessly off his chest. Only then did he strike out, his blade passing from Darex's right hip to his left shoulder, passing through his heart on the way.

The Jedi crumpled and Haphaestus laughed in reaction to a strage emotion recognizable as glee. No emotion lit his face even beneath his emotionless helmet, and the laugh sounded disembodied and out of place. It was, perhaps, one of the first times he produced such a noise. He rather enjoyed it.

Deactivating the weapon that still had a charge, the odd hybrid put away both weapons and located Exodus, who was walking alongside another man. He stepped in front of the one he was administering Master trials to and spoke. "Greetings, Exodus. Have you completed the task that was assigned to you?"

Production upon the planet had been going as scheduled, overhauled equipment and packaging supplies flew in on the hour, delivering the wealth of materials needed for the fierce production. Plans were drawn out through the days, the cybernetics team continuing to draw, scrap, and improve their original modules based on the specifications of their superior.

The end result laid with mechanised war droids which stood on their haunches primarily, long tappered legs that could support the withdrawn position. Long arms drew down from either side, given an almost eerie human figure and face to match. The first prototype had been designed due to the many lborous hours given by the team and mechanics alike, continuing tests on its basic motor skills and ability to act upon order.

After many trials, the design had been completed with the capacity to be powered by souls rather then any tabana gas or other electrical functions. Given this fact, the outerlaying was thicker with a harder shell, able to withstand great pressures and armed with unique melee weaponry that surmise the downfall of those who opposed the fearless creations.

With the model fully finished and ready, the assembly towards seeing that the war droids completed began their long process for the large quota asked by their Sith superiors..

Haphaestus decided that he had spent far too much time on this machine of a world. He was naturally predisposed towards being among machines, but he could rightfully consider them as inferior to himself as organics were, without an immense control of the Force. He was the perfect hybrid, a Sith Master in the Force, an owner of both a organic and mechanical mind (balanced perfectly), and the custodian of both the strength of a droid and the emotion of a human, the precision of the former and the adaptability of the latter.

Deciding that the Sith would indubiously have something for him to occupy his talents with, the once-droid boarded the ship he had arrived on and left for Carida.
