Talon smiled.

"I have no doubt." He paused, and looked around him, back towards the hall from which he had come. A quiet anxiety had built up in the back of his mind, and he knew something needed his attention. ”œPlease, send her my best when she's up and about. But, if you'll excuse me, there's something that requires my attention.”

*Kirlocca Tried his best to keep all out his emotions out of his face as he spoke to Talon. Kirlocca thought it was rather rude for Hou-Jo to depart from the council like that. But the jedi master was not on the council, so he kept his personal feelings to himself.*

"Master. I have had a couple of questions on my mind, and wish to seek counsel on them."

*Kirlocca waited for Talon to get situated before he spoke.*

"I was wondering if it was possible to have a vision within a vision, and if it is, should I be concerned about it?"

*Kirlocca took in a deep breath before he went on.*

"I would also like to know how rare Viridian crystals are."

Isolder's X-wing burst free from hyperspace. He had been searching for the Jedi for some time, checking all the former bases. It troubled him greatly that Helix Station was not where they were located. While in the other realm, Isolder has missed many events. He felt no guilt. Isolder was sad he wasn't here to help, but he had had no choice in the matter. His X-wing landed.

I am glad I at last found them.

"Something is wrong. Very wrong. But I'm going to find a way to fix it."

She removed her shades and stared into Hou-Jo's eyes.

"I'm leaving. For a while. Going home."

The red head glanced about the area at a few meandering Jedi. The ominous voice of the oracle seemed to whisper next to her ear. A mild pang of panic stabbed in her chest. Rajah forced it away.

"There's something I need to do. To find. It's important."

She moved to and wrapped her arms around Hou-Jo. A quick kiss on the lips followed. Rajah didn't care what anyone might think of affectionate display. She pulled away and flashed him an honest grin. She didn't want to leave him. In fact, the thought of knocking him out and slinging Hou-Jo over her shoulder to steal him away was very tempting. Of course she wouldn't . She harbored more respect for the man than that.

"Take care Hou-Jo. I'll be back soon. Promise. Now get back to doing whatever it is you Jedi do when you're all collected together."

She took lingering look at the Jedi before her then slid her sunglasses back on. Rajah smiled once then turned quickly and walked away before her mind changed.

Psyche reached for the Force, and tried to imagine it as Scorp described. She had been to an ocean before, so tried to visualize that weightlessness, just letting the flow take you where it would. Breathing deeply, she began to feel almost sleepy.

After what must have felt like hours of concerned silence, interrupted only by the murmured observations of the two surgeon droids and the constant hum of life-sign sensors, Armiena's operation was finally finished and the Jedi woman's body was wheeled away for yet another bacta treatment. As one of the mechancial M.D's explained to her mother, more time in bacta was required to obliterate the inevitable scarring that was bound to rise from her traumatic experience and to promote the growth of the cloned tissues.

"Now, I understand that we've experienced trouble with Master Draygo before. She has been notoriously difficult in the past, noncompliant and stubborn to leave the medical center. It is essential that she remain still for a period of time after her last bacta treatment is concluded--excessive movement will be very painful for her and could result in damage to the new tissues."

"Leave it to me..." Misal said almost to herself, watching the bobbing form of her daughter in the bacta solution.

((Fast forward--really sick of being crippled.))

Some time later, after the fairly massive doses of anesthetics finally wore off, Armiena blearily opened her emerald eyes to find herself in the company of her mother, alone in a private bedroom along the medcenter. Oh, yes, the Jedi Master certainly ached from her recent operation, and she partially regretted neutralizing the chemicals with her abilities to return to consciousness more quickly.

Armiena almost immediately groaned; not in pain, though. "Any chance on a glass of water? This taste...." She glanced down to view her heavily bandaged torso... and for an unwelcome second time in her life, she found that the miracles of modern medicine had once again made her whole.

Regardless of their surroundings, mother and daughter enjoyed a moment to themselves, free of rampaging Sith or Imperials gunning for their heads, or even preparing for the next confrontation. Just... peaceful conversation.

Scorp came down of his handstand after leaviating his lightsaber back and forth across his eyes. Rising to his feet he looked at his padawan.

"Well what can I say, you progressing well enough. I think it is time for a bit of martial arts trainig however. I shall give you a choice, you can choose to train at the nice faclity that we have hear withd roids and weapons and things of that nature. or you can take your chances out in the jungle and get some real world experience real fast. Your choice."

Scorp crossed his arms and waited.

Darex nodded, then helped Seraphim back to the main temple. He insisted on sending him to the medical bay, and escorted him there. "A few days of rest and bacta patches will heal you up," he said.

He found an unoccupied bed and helped his apprentice into it. "You stay there," he mock-ordered. "I want that ankle healed up on the double."

They exchanged smiles. "And if you want, you can practice a few things while you're here--telekenisis, meditation, that sort of thing. It'll be good practice."

Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice in the room next door. "If you'll excuse me, Seraphim. I have a visit to pay."

He left the room, and knocked on the other door, which opened to reveal Armiena and her mother. Armiena was pretty bandaged up, but seemed to be on the mend. He shook his head. "You certainly have a knack for trouble," he said. Then he smiled. "It's good to see you again. How are you feeling?"

Kirlocca allowed Talon a moment to get situated, in which time Talon took a seat in one of the plush council seats. Even though the Wookie's face remained unemotional, Talon could sense Kirlocca's frustration with Hou-Jo through the Force, so he tried not to keep him waiting. Once he was ready, the Jedi Master Kirlocca continued. After hearing him out, Talon took a moment to collect his thoughts. While Talon was quite strong in the Force, he was not well versed with visions; they were a thing that normally eluded him. In fact, the only visions he had recently received were the visions of some ethereal being that encouraged him during battle. Yet, Talon's companion Andon Colos was quite prone to visions, and the councilor had heard enough from him to know enough about the nature of farsight.

"Lowen, fire up Despondent. We're going on a little trip."

Rajah slid the comm back into an inner jacket pocket. Her steps were quick but weighted. The red head nabbed a few simple supplies then made straight for her ship. Each step she put between she and Hou-Jo became heavier. She didn't want to leave him. Especially not leave him surrounded by the creatures that might eventually be the death of him. But she had to go. Attempt to search out a solution to her grave problem. If there existed a solution...

Minutes later she boarded her ship. Lowe had it ready and waiting. She strolled in, smiled at the boy, ruffled his hair a bit. He swatted her hand away.

"You know I don't like that." he muttered as he slicked his hair down.

Rajah took her seat, strapped in and began running through lift off procedure.

"Get used to it. It's going to be our pre flight ritual from now on." she said as she removed her sunglasses and winked over at the co-pilot. "Hope you smoothed out the jerky hyperspace jump-exit glitch, kid."

"We'll soon find out." He answered as he flicked a couple of switches. "What little slice of Hell are we flying into this time, Red?"

Rajah's face became emotionless, "Home."

"What about Pretty Boy?"

"Initiating lift off sequence. Your butt better be buckled in Kid." Rajah announced in overly loud voice as if she hadn't heard Lowe's question. She closed her eyes and mentally whispered another farewell to her Jedi. She assured him she would be back.

A short time later the Raging Despondent lifted off the planet and bolted into the sky. Minutes later it smoothly launched into hyperspace.

"A bit... embarrassed, actually." Armiena couldn't resist grinning, despite the fact that she had nearly been mortally wounded and was still aching fiercely in one of the more sensitive regions of the female body. "See, it was my intention to come back to Haruun Kal riding an Imperial Interdictor Cruiser, not a hospital stretcher. And getting incapacitated so quickly... well..."

Misal gave her daughter a sly glance... or that was as it seemed, gauging from the Jedi's reaction to the quirk of her mother's uncovered lips. "Oh, right. You meant physically. Well, it still hurts... but..." Armiena lifted up her bandages slightly and glanced down at the front of her torso. Blushing, she continued. "Yes, I'd say I'll be making a full recovery."

Her mother's only reaction as she swept up to her feet and began to stride out of the medical lab for parts unknown was to bury her veiled face in her right hand.

*Kirlocca noded. He was pleased with his answers from Talon.*

"Thank you master. I would also like to ask for some time away from the jedi base. In my vision, I saw my home planet Kashyyyk. There was a man waiting for me there. I know that he plays some important role in my life."

*Kirlocca did not bother to tell Talon the other half of it. Talon didn't need to know that his father had warned him about "sides of the force," and to be weary of them. That information had no role or need to be brought up at this moment.*

Dashel sought out the guidance of the force. He could feel the impatience in his student and felt a glimmer of something else besides youthful impulse. As the cool touch of the light side filtered in, he discovered that the recklessness was his apprentices inexperience only, and that training him was the right path to take.

He smiled at his apprentice. "Very well, we shall learn together then. I have not been as focussed on my own martial skills as I should. Perhaps a refresher would be good for both of us. There is dueling hall two levels down that should do for the opening for us. It is one especially made for training Ataru practioners."

They headed for the trainin rooms. There they found a room whose floor was lined with small circles, some with the diameter of a Jedi holding a single blade, while others where the diameter of a Jedi holding two blades.

Dashel stood in one of the circles meant for two blades. He ignited his lightsabers, and motioned for his apprentice to watch him. "In here, your world exists only between where you are standing, and the outside of this circle. It is the limit of your physical senses. Outside of that, there is only the force."

Psyche considered, her eyes still closed. When she opened them again, she said, "I think I'd like to train with droids and weapons." With the war going on, she'd better know about such things. She stood, straightening her tunic.

Scorp sighed,

"Fair enough. Perhaps you should rest up though eh? I mean I have just put you through a work out that fully trained combat units quickly tire from."

Scorp smiled

"Funny thing how are you going to get off this roof? I have shown you the force Now lets see if you can adapt. find a way of this roof without using a door. Me I am simply gonna jump off even though it is quite the way down."

Scorp looked over the edge and judged the distance.

"See you are the bottom."

With that Scorp vaulted off the roof.

Darex chuckled. "Well, I'm glad to hear it. And I'm sorry about the stretcher...I guess even Jedi Masters have to settle for them occasionally. Even Masters like you."

He greatly respected the strong Jedi his friend had come to be. She was a face of the Jedi that he didn't mind the public seeing. She was Alderaanian, yet she faced battle headfirst, daring death to take her. Oftentimes, she got herself into trouble, like this case in point, but she always managed to come out again. She was blunt, yet modest.

"And these med droids aren't treating you too badly, are they?" he asked. "Cause if they are, you just let me know...I have an apprentice who will soon need some target practice..." His eyes twinkled with warm humor.

"By all means, have at them. The medevac that came on board my ship wasted no time in pronouncing me 'dead on arrival,' when any half-trained Jedi would have been able to recognize that I was only using Morichro." If Darex was even remotely familiar with that technique, merely mentioning it would hint that she had taken quite a beating to be forced to preserve her body in something that resembled suspended animation.

"It resembled something along the lines of... 'out of the vacuum, into the crematorium.' That panic that I was running around in was when I was rushing to Hou-Jo to have him order the droids to stick my body in the bacta." Armiena sobered for a brief moment, reflecting on how close she had come to being killed by her own comrades.

BUt the moment was quickly over; she was now relatively safe, in the company of an old friend. "But I'm better now. I just can't wait to get back on my feet again--I need to travel to Coruscant to complete a project that's been in the works for months..."

Odan gave a quizzacal look to his master, "so to truly use this form I must let the force guide my actions? Or is just truly", Odan thought for an appropiate word, "surrendering my body to the power of the force and joining with it.?" Odan thought for a moment, the more he learned of the force the more questions about came into view. Odan then turned his attention back to his studies.

"An infinite mystery is the Force. Much to learn, there still is." ”” Yoda

As the jedi master arrived at the hanger bay, he quickly checked his ppouch to make sure everything was still and there, and then climbed into his ARC 170.*

Cal had lingered around the base at Haruun Kal for many days now. He loved Haruun Kal. It was a world that felt dark and mysterious. The shade of the trees was comforting, and all of the green that surronded the base was a refreshing change from the metallic man made surrondings of most planets.

But the comfort of nature was not enough to sooth Cal's spirits. He was beginning to feel unsure of himself. He had not spoken to his master since they had arrived, and he was beginning to question his whole purpose within the Jedi Order. I should have just stayed with the Alliance!

That thought had crossed his mind many times in the past few weeks, especially after his most recent vision. The same evil that had flowed from that wretched woman had coarsed through his bones as well. It was like her dark prowess had seeped into him, and he had submitted to it. It was a frightful experience for the young padawan.

He sat down in the middle of the hallway and leaned up against the wall. His lightsaber clanged against the floor and his sword made his sitting posture awkward. He was overcome with frustration when he could not remove the piece of metal from his back so that he could sit properly. He jerked the sword out of its sheath and slung it down the hall.

I hate that damn thing, he said as the metal bounced down the hall and eventually came to rest twenty meters away. It is the source of all my problems. It is the reason I left the Alliance and joined with the misguided Jedi. Sahv tricked me. I hate him!

A dark cloud swelled up inside of Cal's mind. Abandonment, jealousy, fear, hatred. They were all quickly laying claim to the young padawan's soul. He needed guidance or he would surely fall to the Dark Side.

Without a master and in a deep state of distress Cal sat and sobbed in the hallway, alone and forgotten by his fellow Jedi...

As his business with Kirlocca had finished, and there were no other demanding situations requiring his attention, he again exited the open council chambers. No sooner had he done so, however, that a hefty metal sword, almost in likeness to his own, came sliding across the ground to come to a crunching halt at his feet.

Curious”¦ in my day, swords did not just randomly glide through hallways”¦ The thought was hardly serious, and a small smile appeared on Talon's lips. As soon as it had come, however, it disappeared. Sitting down the hall was, he assumed, the sword's companion. Through the Force, the Jedi Master sensed large waves of frustration and anger rolling off the boy; something was obviously wrong.

Talon bent down and picked up the sword. He inspected it for a moment, taking care to notice its balance and composition, and then he walked quite slowly down the hall, until he was opposite the Jedi apprentice. As the apprentice was too focused on wallowing in his own self-pity, he barely even noticed the man had stopped and was looking down on his slouched form, until he drove the tip of the weapon down into the ground with a sharp, resounding clang.

The boy looked up with a start. Talon, having successfully captured the boy's attention, spoke. ”œIn my days at the Academy, we were taught to treat our weapons with a bit more respect.”

At first Cal was startled by the man standing in front of him, but after seeing the sword once more he grimaced. "It's not my sword!" he said with a bit of hateful attitude. "I merely found it on my ship. I have been carrying it ever since. You better watch out, the thing is evil, it ruins the lives of those who touch it. If I were you I would toss it back down the hall and run from that hideous thing."

As Cal spoke he looked into the blue eyes of the man standing before him. A calming feeling started to come over the padawan. Even within the presence of darkness Cal had found light. The dark cloud in his mind slowly broke up and his tears dried. The feelings of hate melted away. He did not understand the strange sensation coming over him, but he knew that this man named Talon was a friend and the source of his new found comfort.

Cal stood up and wiped his face clean. "My name is Cal Regium. I am Jedi Padawan to Knight Sahv Yorr, but I fear he has abandoned me. Since we arrived I have not seen him, and as of late my training has been sparse."

"This weapon you hold in your hand," Cal said with a slight bit of malice returning to his voice, "was what started me on the path of the Jedi. Before I found it I worked with the Alliance. Then I discovered this piece of scrap aboard my ship and started having strange dreams and visions. Sahv was a friend of mine who decided that these visions were manifestations of the Force, and that I should be trained in the arts of the Jedi. He took me on as an apprentice, and after many months of wandering aimlessly I have arrived here."

Cal's short hateful deamenor returned for a brief instant, "That a good enough explanation for ya?"

Even with the feelings of comfort Cal was weary of telling the man too much. He was now scared to trust anyone, and was shocked he had told Talon what he did.

Talon nodded once, as if Cal's sarcastic question had been a serious one.

Of course, he already knew the weapon was tainted. He had felt it the moment he picked it up. Perhaps it held the life-ruining properties that Cal described, and perhaps not. Instead of throwing it back down the hall, however, Talon flipped the sword in his hand so he was holding just the bladed section, and then he offered the hilt back to Cal.

”œThe only way for us to overcome our fears is to face them. Take back the sword.”

Talon's words rang inside of Cal's head, "It is your choice."

The young padawan was unsure of himself. He felt comforted by Talon's words, and the idea of being trained by such a strong and commanding figure was promising, but when Cal turned his eyes to the sword all he could see were the evil red eyes of the woman in his vision.

So it was set, Cal must choose between old blue eyes, Talon, or the red eyed vixen of his dreams. He was torn. Fear rushed over him and a tiny bead of sweat trickled down his forehead. The decision lying before him would determine the course of his future.

Sahv had confidence in me, Talon has confidence in me, but the vision. What if I turn out like...

The thought fled Cal's mind. He shook it off as he felt another wave of calming energy come from his new master. He stuck out his hand and grasped the hilt. His face was dry of all tears, his back was straight, and he felt like he had taken one step closer to the light by touching the dark.

"Thank you Talon. I am ready to face my fears."

Cal held the sword firmly. He could feel the dark taint coming off of it. He was still slightly afraid of it, but perhaps someday he would completely conquer that fear and become the sword's master. It was that thought that gave the padawan confidence. That and the thought that he now had a new master, Talon, that could help him on his quest.

Darex had read of Morichro, but had never heard of anyone using it. He was impressed--it took a strong Jedi Master to use the method, and it was very dangerous.

When she spoke of her project on Coruscant, he looked at her with interest. "Oh? What kind of project?"

He knew not to underestimate Armiena, and she had that look in her eye that he had come to recognize--she had a pplot brewing behind those green eyes.

"That is a question every Jedi must answer on their own. And in order to answer that question, you need to know enough to actually be able to ask the questions to arrive at the answer." Dashel stayed still for a moment, recentering himself.

"But now is not the time for talk. You asked to learn how to fight with a lightsaber at more than a basic level and it is my duty to teach you as best I can."

So saying, Dashel began an intensive session on the basic stancework and movements of the form, showing his Padawan how to best use the highly kinetic form. More, he taught his Padawan how to use the force to augment his natural abilities, whether it be the strength for the leaps and thrusts of the form, or the endurance to absorb some of the punishing non-lightsaber techniques some Jedi injected into the form.

As they say resting after one particularly difficult period, Dashel said to his Padawan. "Even with centuries of lightsaber techniques, every uses applies their training in a form differently. Once you feel comfortable with the form, feel free to experiment with it, adding your own personal signature to it. Never become predictable in battle."

Days passed as Dashel went through session after session with his Padawan on Jedi combat techniques, pushing Odan beyond his own limits repeatedly. When he felt he had taught him enough the basics, Dashel took the old lightsaber back and made a few adjustments to that one and one of his.

"Right now, these will only stun a person. No need for danger right now. Do you feel up to defending yourself?"
