As Cal took the sword back in hand, Talon smiled. He had made his decision”¦

”œGood. The most essential quality of any Jedi is his lack of fear, and you have just taken the first step in achieving this. You have acknowledged what it is you are afraid of, and you have prepared to confront it. Jedi doctrine of old has dictated that fear is the beginning stage in a progression towards the darkside. I say, however, that there is more to the story than just that. In time, I hope I can show you this”¦”

Psyche silently groaned. She took a look over the edge of the building. There was no way she was going to take that way. Her eyes darted over the roof as she quietly repeated to herself, "No door, no door." She could try making her own door by splitting the metal, but she seriously doubted she could do that. Psyche closed her eyes, remembering what Scorp had said about visual things distracting. She reached out with the Force, her hand in front of her. Suddenly everything sprang into focus. There was a weak spot in the roof, there. The metal was thinner there than in other places. It must have been recently repaired. She walked over to it, both of her hands outstretched now. Putting them together, Psyche peeled the temporary metal covering apart to reveal a corridor. She jumped down, and tried to do her best to put it back. Then, she hurried the rest of the way down to find Scorp.

Darex marvelled at the plan. It was compassionate, involved, and was something the galaxy was in dire need of. In short, the perfect thing for a Jedi to be involved in.

"Armiena...that's a wonderful plan!" he exclaimed. His green eyes lit with excitement. "So it's going to be based on Coruscant? And it's not just the Jedi that will be involved in this...although it will naturally be your pet project."

He ran a hand through his not-quite-shoulder-length dark blonde hair. "It's brilliant, and I can see why you're so excited about this. You have every right to be."

"Indeed. I'd be on my way to Coruscant right now, but the medical droids have made it very clear that until I've been cleared, I'm to stay off my feet--and this time, they have my mother on my side.... Wait." A slightly demented light shone in those startlingly green eyes, and her teeth bared in a toothy grin. "I like loopholes."

The Jedi Master snatched her comlink from the bedside table, and spoke quickly into it to an answering Jedi Adept. "I have a quick request to make.... and don't call me Master." Armiena rolled her eyes. "Yes... I need...." she paused for dramatic effect. "A repulsor chair, soon as possible."

A few minutes later, the young woman struggled to sidle her aching body over to the edge of her stretcher and then into the retrieved repulsor chair, meanwhile refusing all of the poor NPC's offers of assistance. "No--ow--I don't need help, and I don't need help--sonofa..." she growled, instinctively guarding her breast with her forearm. "When I get my hands on... ah, this is more like it." Her body landed in the chair with a light thud.

"Well, Darex, I'll be on Coruscant for the next few days, making preparations. After that... probably Mon Cal. And now...." Armiena gave the control joystick of the repulsor chair a test nudge towards the exit of the medical bay, getting a feel for its sensitivity. "I've got work to do." Without hesitation, she shoved the control in her desired direction, and the repulsor chair obediently zoomed away.

Armiena knew that she had to look absolutely absurd in the repulsor chair, still wearing a hospital gown, and still hyped up on the adrenaline of revealing one of her greatest schemes. Even more absurd, the Jedi had just come away from one of their worst defeats in recent history, and she was actually having fun. Just for the sake of pushing the absurdity of her departure up another notch, the Jedi Master drew one of her lightsabers and ignited it, following the charge of its blazing point towards the hangar.

Even better, she started bellowing battle cries.

"RAHR!!! Cleanse, purge, kill! For Alderaan, for Ryloth, for Coruscant! Oya! Bal kote, darasuum kote, jorso'ran kando a tome! Shine, shine like a nova!"

Most warriors went on their greatest conquests in full battle livery, festooned with a small arsenal of weapons, and with several dozen of their comrades at their side. Armiena charged towards glory wearing a drab hospital gown, confined to a medical repulsor chair.

Cypher wandered about between the Jedi in their various duties. He could feel the force strong in this facility. All of them..so powerful and yet he would be a knight just like them if he had his trials. He had been in training far longer than most padawans have ever been and he was quite skilled in his general abilities. His master even pointed out that he had great abilities to do some of the things he had done so quickly.

He had formed his own style of dual wielding in the time he was alone in solitary training, allowing him to have upper hand in the saber battles. As he moved about, Cypher came to the training area where he watched two masters who were working with their padawans.Dashel Illioni and Darex Trevelian. He was surprised at how much less of a push they had on these padawans. His Master had a more strong and forceful influence on him, pushing his limits to the max.

"Yes master" replied odan, he then summoned the force around him. He then lifted his light saber and but it behind and slightly above his head. like a Vornskr about to attack.

As the force came into him, he flet more calm and at peace. He also felt the force slightly guding his actions and telling him what to do.

Odan then charged at his fast and thrust his saber forward. Sparks flew as the sabers clashed and the battle began.

Scorp smiled as his padawan showed up, escorting her inside he figured that he wouldn't even ask how she had gotten down.

After a short walk they came to a decent training room, ushering her inside he figured he would teach her weapon combat first. Finding a weighted sword he tossed it at her, then as she attemtped to hold it he quick programed a droid to attacked at at a very basic level.

"You must overcome this droid with that weapon. Good luck let the force be your guide."

Darex threw back his head and laughed as Armiena took off down the hallway in her repulsor chair, the perplexed Adept chasing after her, war cries issuing from her mouth in multiple languages. He certainly missed being around her...she made life so much more interesting.

He turned to the med droids. "Forget about trying to bring her back...you won't get her to cooperate. She knows the limits of her own strength."

The droids reluctantly gave in, and Darex shook his head in mirth. He left the room, heading back to Seraphim. "Hungry?" he asked, poking his head in the room. "Want me to get you something?"

Cypher continued to watch the various Masters work with their padawans using his force sight. It was strange...as if he was looking back at his own early days when he first began training. He was slightly crestfallen as to his current situation and needed help. Cypher watched the Padawan who dueled with his saber only using the force. All of them, as they used the force appeared in his force sight as dim blue lights. That was, of course, except the Masters who shone brightly in his vision. The waves of the force coming from them seemed to ripple out and ventilate into the surroundings.

Moving slowly down the steps into the training arena, he gazed around at all the equipment that they had here for training, something he lacked and had to do without in past years. As he stopped in the center of the arena level, just ahead of him was a deactivated republic style duel droid with a basic single lightsaber. Cypher slowly walked to the machine and extended a hand to touch the cool metallic surface but was surprised as it sprung to life before him, activating the lightsaber.

Cypher back-flipped away from the droid and stood in a ready stance, watching it warily. The droid beeped loudly before coming in with quick intent and slashed diagonally to it's left. Cypher merely dodged aside with his upper body and didn't move. The droid spun into a back spin and came around with a twirling slash to his mid section and head. Cypher jumped above the mid section strike and landed on one of the droids arms in a sideways flip. The droid pointed it's scanner at him to comprehend what he had just done. A neurological examination of it's opponent showed of his blind disability.

The droid spun it's arm away and tried to come with an upward slash. Cypher made his first strike. After landing back upon his feet from teh flip, he held his hand out and the droid suddenly froze. It was unable to move and reiterated the same beeps over and over again. Cypher tensed his hand in a quick jolt as the hydraulic controls on the bot were disabled. He then slowly focused harder as he pushed the droid back through the air to it's original position.

Cypher let his hand drop and finally released the breath he did not know he had taken. His force abilities had grown over time as well...so much has changed.

Psyche hefted the sword. She had used a vibroblade before, so she was familiar with some moves. Reaching out, she let the Force flow through her, showing her where the droid could be beaten. Psyche faked a blow to the left, but then changed her attack to a diagonal swipe. The droid took the damage in stride, then attacked her with a straight blow to her head. She blocked it, then plunged her own weapon into the droid's chest. It buckled and collapsed.

Scorp pulled the girl aside and sat her down in an adjecent room then he dove into a lecture.

"A Jedi is one who manipulates the Force to help others, Jedi are inherently good using the force only to, protect and gain knowledge. Light Jedi never use the force for attack, for personal gains of any kind or for motives which could be considered 'questionable'. In essence a Jedi is someone who society suggests would should all be like, The Jedi is something most Force Adepts strive for but never reach. Unfortunately there is the problem of Human Nature which tends to conflict with the Ideals of a Jedi. Human Nature can of course be suppressed, and in the case of many Jedi this is done very well, however it is not a path which is easily trod.

True it takes a special type of character to forgo the urges and desires which drive most people in our galaxy. A Jedi puts others needs above their own, they are helpful all the time even when feeling down.

Jedi follow a code of sorts, this code is a very basic guide to the philosophy of the Jedi.

There is no Emotion ~ There is Peace

There is no Ignorance ~ There is Knowledge

There is no Passion ~ There is Serenity

There is no Death ~ There is the Force

At its most basic level, the Jedi Code is a set of guidelines explaining what virtues to prize and what flaws to avoid. Jedi instructors ask their students to always keep these words in mind. The reason is simple; the Code provides instructions on how to become a Jedi Master.

Consider the first rule: "There is no emotion; there is peace." It is plainly a contrast, distinguishing the confusion peaceful meditation obviously, a valuable quality.

But if that peace is rooter in simply being unaware of some factor that would otherwise cause a Jedi to feel emotional reaction, then it is not so much peace as ignorance. This is why the Code contains the second rule: "There is no ignorance; there is knowledge."

This teaches Jedi to strive to understand all situations--particularly being acting to avoid errors in judgment. But knowing a thing well can lead one to become engrossed in it. An obsessive focus leads to clouding of the mind. Thus, the third rule: "There is no passion; there is serenity." Knowing a thing objectively is knowing it as the Force knows it.

Still, students commonly argue that the only true objectivity is nonexistence death. For does one not affect a fourth rule: "There is no death; there is the Force." The Force knows all things objectively; it is serene, and it is not swayed by emotion.

Thus, the Jedi Code teaches that before undertaking any action, the Jedi should consider the will of the Force. Master Odan-Urr said: "With these other considerations aside, all that remains is the Force." If a Jedi can act emotionlessly, knowledgeably, and serenely, then he or she is action in accordance with the will of the Force.

Therefore, if a Jedi acts in all things without emotion, ignorance, or passion, then that Jedi is truly a master of the Force.

While the Code is a straightforward map to mastery of the Force, it can sometimes be frustrating when put into practice. The galaxy has changed a great deal since the Jedi Code was first defined, and a great deal more since Master Odan-Urr attempted to clarify it. Although the secret to the Code is considering it thoroughly before acting, the universe often does not afford a Jedi the time to do so.

Still, a Jedi can think through a great many things in advance, to better maintain the principles of the Code when the rest of the universe is in a hurry. Over the millennia since the founding of the Order, Jedi Masters have recognized that there are eight conclusions a Jedi can reach before situations are thrust upon him. A Jedi who understands these eight things will, when called upon to make a quick decision, already know the will of the Force.

Meditation for starters. Every Jedi should spend time meditation each day on the will of the Force. The reason for this is simple: if one has unwittingly acted contrary to the will of the Force, recognizing the mistake soon after may still give one time to make amends.

By regularly examining one's own motivations, a Jedi could be certain that she was not allowing emotion, ignorance, or passion to intrude upon her clarity. A Jedi who has no time to meditate may more easily become lost. More to the point, a Jedi who refused to meditate may already know that her motivations are no pure, and is thus lying to herself.

Training is another. A Jedi's training in the Force never ends.

A wise Jedi should strive to remember that there is always something more to learn about the Force. The Force reveals itself to those who have the desire and knowledge to see it, and merely heeding the Force's will is much the same as looking at the bantha's toe and saying: "Now I understand banthas." To continue to grow, a Jedi should train each day.

Loyalty is also included in one of the eight.

Jedi can exist in this universe because the Force exists. But the Jedi Order needs more: it requires loyalty. It goes without saying that Jedi should be loyal to one another. They should not squabble or fight. More importantly, though, each Jedi should be aware that he must act in accordance with the wishes of his Master, who must in turn act in accordance with the wishes of the Jedi Council. This is not a question of seniority, but rather of understanding the will of the Force, and in this regard, the members of the Jedi Council are the recognized experts.

Integrity makes the lost because a Jedi's responsibility to the Force is to be honest with himself. So long as the Jedi is not acting for his own self-interest and observes the Code, he is obeying the will of the Force.

Master Odan-Urr lamented the misperceptions of those who believed that Jedi should be morally superior: "Many feel that a Jedi should be scrupulously honest, never taking advantage, and never withholding information. This is nonsense."

A Jedi can and should offer advice to those who need it. Force a certain point of view, a Jedi is not being dishonest if he allows people to believe what they wish to believe. It is not incumbent upon the Jedi to convince anyone to follow his advice.

When a Jedi is serving the Force, he may employ deception, subterfuge, misdirection, and even fraud, if he does so with a righteous aim. Although most sentient beings have a distaste for such practices, the Force is without such emotions.

Do not confuse this with "moral flexibility." A Jedi does what needs to be done. But also remember that a Jedi is not above the law.

Morality is a need member of this list simple because it is te most dangerous and debated words ever uttered by a Jedi Master are: "A Jedi is not a creature of morals." This statement has unfortunately been translated, often by Jedi, to mean that a Jedi can do no wrong.

What it actually means is that Jedi are not enforcers of morality. While Jedi can bring or restore order and justice, they cannot themselves sit in judgment of other. There are two reasons for this.

First, the galaxy is a vast place, full of cultures that no one Jedi can completely understand. One famous story tells how a Jedi learned that a companion had been devoured by the cannibalistic Colicoids. When asked why the Jedi later bargained with the very same beings for starship components, she responded: "Because eating the flesh of sentient beings is not forbidden by the Jedi Code but to the Colicoids, not eating flesh of sentient beings is considered a sign of insanity."

This Jedi recognized that punishing the Colicoids for following their nature would be acting out of emotion and ignorance. Similarly, not procuring a badly needed engine part would have been punishing herself out of guilt.

The second reason is that judgment leads to vengeance, and vengeance leads to the dark side. This is easy to understand, tough not so easy to practice. Should a known murderer be allowed to go free? Should a man intent on murder be killed? To answer either question, a Jedi must first know the will of the Force. Neither decision can be made hastily, except where lives are threatened by inaction.

At the same time, while not judges, Jedi can be mediators. It is a role they are suited for, and one that works in accord with the Force since mediations leads to balance.

Discretion ranks among the eight as well.

It is sometimes necessary for a Jedi to practice discretion. Some have seen this as a sign of Jedi partisanship. Others, particularly law enforcement agencies, believe that Jedi ignore small crimes in order to apprehend greater criminals. Obviously, neither of these is true.

The truth is that Jedi Knights are suffered throughout the galaxy despite their facility with the Force. This is because they do not actively interfere with the lives of the common people. Jedi stand for order and justice, and these qualities do not begin with the misdeeds of the few. The goal of the Jedi should be to create and preserve an atmosphere where justice can flourish, rather than to try to create justice themselves.

Bravery is very important To be brave in battle proves nothing. Bravery itself proves nothing. A Jedi should be prepared to put aside fear, regret, and uncertainty and either fight, run, surrender, or die.

Younger Jedi commonly mistake bravery as the opposite of fear. Since fear leads to the dark side, they reason, bravery is armor against the dark side. This isn't so. If a Jedi is mindful of the will of the Force, he will know if it is best to stand his ground, or flee, or even to offer truce. Remember that bravery itself is an emotion, and a Jedi should be at peace even in the midst of war.

Fighting also makes the cut. If a Jedi ignites his lightsaber, he must be ready to take a life. If he is not so prepared, he must keep his weapon at his side.

Conflict is a fact of life in the galaxy for far too many beings, and no Jedi can hope to remain apart from it. But a Jedi need not embrace conflict. After all If a weapon you show, A warrior am I! is what you say. So, to avoid unnecessary fighting, a Jedi should not advertise his skill.

But when is it necessary to fight? The Force will show a Jedi when he has no other options, and a wise Jedi trusts the Force in this regard.

When fighting, is it necessary to use one's lightsaber? The answer is no. A lightsaber is an intimidation weapon but it is not a tool for intimidation. Do not use a lightsaber to create fear in an opponent. Us it to end the fight as quickly and mercifull as possible. If this means destroying a foe, so be it. But if a Jedi can end a fight without killing an opponent, so much the better. The best Jedi can avert injury altogether, with only a word.

In the past, some Jedi have taken this to mean that they should carry a second, less deadly weapon. There is no such thing. If a weapon cannot kill, it is not truly a weapon. While a blaster can let a Jedi attack from a distace, it is just as effective and more in keeping with the Jedi Code to use the Force instead.

Dependence simply so that you do not come to rely on the Force to the detriment of your other senses and abilities.

To use the Force to accomplish every mundane task is to trivialize it. Using the Force isn't the only solution. That's where a Jedi's other skills and talents come in. Jedi training consists of many exercises: mastering the Force is only a part of that training. The student also learns to run, jump, climb, fight, swim, and think. These exercises could be made easier by using the Force, but this would be to detriment of the Jedi's overall experience. A Jedi needs to learn his capabilities without the Force so that he can truly know himself and also understand what those without the Force are capable of accomplishing.

Using the Force because it's convenient, even when other methods might be more sensible, falls dangerously close to the dark side. It's only one step removed from using the Force to achieve personal wealth and power, and that's definitely a corruption of the Force. "

Scorp finally stopped speaking and looked at his padawan at this point he figured he must be awfully sore from just listening to him talk while sitting on such an unforgiving bench. He figured he could work that out of her.

"So after all my talk I feel it is time for you to get into better shape. I want you to run around this entire complex 7 times, afterwards report back here and preform 40 sit ups. Should be easy. You should do any streching you need to before hand." Scorp took a seat and waited.

"You have two hours to complete this and your time started when is said you should do any streching you need to before hand."

Cypher turned his force sights back to one of the Masters, Scorp Jedi Knight, as he spoke to his padawan of the Code of the Jedi. When Aryian had told him all of the info, he didn't grow bored but rather took the information in and enjoyed the speech. Anything he could do to gain more knowledge in order to protect the rights of the people, he would do.

Cypher smiled as the padawan was ordered to do the exercises. Now there was the tough training that he remembered. But back on the jungle terrain he had to deal with deadly creatures along his expeditions and quests. He didn't smile to be mean, but merely knew that even if teh padawan resented the traiing, it would further his abilities. Cypher had a good hold on the force and needed those trials. But who would help?

Cypher slowly walked towards the Master and examined his force presence. He shone the bright blue that all Jedi usually do when they have reached a level worthy of being called a Master. "Good day sir. I am wondering if I may ask you a question...my Master...Aryian Darkfire disapeared while I was training in solitude. I have been told I am ready for my Knight trials, but I don't wish for them yet. I wish to learn as much as possible before I am knighted so as to use my skills and knowledge for a chance to better help the people and other creatures of this universe. I know it sounds rather blunt sir, but my father followed the same code of honor with a relentless passion. Now that he has fallen...I wish to fulfill his wishes to one day see peace in this Universe and do all I can."

He knew it sounded a little like a little kid wanting to do something that is too much for him, but what he said was straight forward and to the point. He was told by his former Master that he would one day make a powerful Jedi. He complimented him on his fast growing skills and took interest in his elemental ability over wind. It seemed like a good hope that lay within his confident and calm heart.

Dashel brought his blade up to meet his Padawan's initial surge, and was jolted by both his padawan's strength and the dissapproval someone was broadcasting to the entire room. As he clashed swords with Odan, he sought from whom the errant thoughts were coming with the force. He was suprised by the fact that the thoughts were coming from Cypher Skywalker, a padawan .

The distraction allowed his his apprentice to slip in a quick strike though his defenses, numbing part of his right wrist and hip. He growled, a low and threatening sound.

The growl continued, while the Force flooded his limbs and guided His strikes. Still Dashel waited despite wanting to attack. In the next minute, he blocked two sweeping attacks at his head, a diagonal cut towards his midsection, and low angled sweep that would have numbed his feet with the sabers on their training setting or severed them completely in a real batle.

Following the codes of the style he was trying to teach, he waited for an opening. Finally, one presented itself, and Dashel launched his own attack. He ducked a broad sweeping cut by completely ducking under it and before Odan could complete the backhand, Dashel lashed out with a low sweep that backed Odan up enough to provide and opening.

Muscles in his legs bunched and he leaped in a low parabola directly at his apprentice his saber, moving vertically to stop the returning backhand. When the swords met, he let his momentum continue to carry him forward, his feet leading the way straight towards his apprentice's chest.

Simultaneously, he used the force to direct a general command toward Cypher Skywalker, "Hold where you are."

Cypher still stood, facing Scorp Jedi Knight as he heard the force command from the other master. He slowly turned and watched the dual between the Master and his padawan with an exhilerating feeling. The last time he drew his sabers, was back on Borleais. As the Master launched himself towards the padawan, Cypher examined his movements and kept them reserved in his mind for further reference. It may come in handy.

Folding his arms over and seeing the bursts of force come from the two of them was quite amazing. Even in physical combat, the force had great intensity and a huge affect on the outcome. His sight seemed to now be a guide as to who was who...as if he could read someone's stature....weak or strong...good or evil...it seemed like a blessing in disguise. He had learned to fight with his sabers using the force sight and then went on to go totally blind and use only his senses in order to succeed.

((OOC: I asked Aryian this...but he never answered. The Jedi training temple that they called 'Borleais...isn't it supposed to be Borealis?"))

Seraphim nodded as his Master left the Medbay. He leaned back in the bed as a watched on as the droids came about tending to his ankle and eventually leaving after placing a bacta patch over it. He closed his eyes and fell back into the force, letting it wash over his body and flow through every vein and touch upon every fiber of his being. Over the next two days the majority of his time was spent in a meditative state as he deepened his connection to the force. Every now and then he would get out of bed, much to the droids dismay and begin to keep his body in shape.

He would do sit-up's and push ups, even though he only used on leg when doing the push ups. He wouldn't let his body fall into a unhealthy state just because his leg was slightly injured. During his exercises was a good time to work on the pain nulling effects the force allowed him. Over all he was proud of himself and the work he had gotten done, even while he was supposed to be bed-ridden.

Seraphim glanced up to see his Masters smiling face. He had felt his Master approaching, it had been a natural feeling as well. He was getting used to the force and sensing it all around him.

"I am a bit hungry, join me in lunch?"

((OOC: Great speech, Scorp! I think I'll save that for future reference... ))

IC:

"Indeed," the Knight replied. "Do you think your medical experts would allow you to make a trip to the cafeteria, or continue to confine you to bed?"

A quick probe told Darex that his apprentice's ankle was almost healed, so he turned to the med droids and asked them. They refused, naturally, but it was fairly easy to persuade them. Their one contingency was that Seraphim had to use crutches.

Darex turned back to his apprentice with a raised eyebrow. "What do you think?"

He wanted his apprentice to get out of this room and be in the heart of the base. It was important for him to meet people, to make friends, for these were the people that he would be working alongside, and the people who would understand him the most and be there for him when he needed a shoulder.

Odan felt the kick delivered, it wasn't as painful as he though it would be but that's not to say it was with out pain. He fell to the floor with a thud as his body hit the ground. He then pushed himself off the ground and picked up the saber.

He then drove into the Force letting go of his physical sense; he no longer had direct control over his body. He had surrendered himself completely to the Force.

He raised his saber vertically beside him. He then attacked, with a slice to his master's arm. Odan then continued with fast but light strikes and thrust and weak parries, in an attempt to draw his master into a trap.

Though with this strategy he started to lose ground and get burnt by his master's saber. He also started to fatigue, he felt the ebb of the force slowly slipping away.

But then he saw an opening in his master's attacks; he raised his lightsaber and brought it down with a diagonal slice. But at the last possible moment, Odan flicked his wrist and brought it into a down ward thrust to his masters now exposed saber hilt.

"I'm fine with it."

He nodded his head towards his Master at the same time he spoke, sitting up in his bed and watching as a set of crutches was brought over to him. He took them and set the height to the right size before standing up with them, putting his weight on his good leg as he looked to Darex. The two of them moved through the hallway quietly at first, but soon Seraphim spoke up with a question he had had on his mind for a while now.

"Master, I read of the Jedi code long ago...I can't quite recall it, but I do remember not understanding it then. Could you explain it?"

Cal watched his new master walk away. He turned the sword in his hand and thought about Talon's words,

The Darkside? Fear is a step towards the Darkside? What does that mean? Is he saying that I have taken steps towards darkness, or is that my fear? Cal was still slightly confused about what he was afraid of. He knew that it had something to do with the woman in his visions, the evil that he saw her commit, and the idea that he would be over come with that evil himself.

I suppose I am afraid of that, turning to the Darkside. I guess there are a lot worse things I could be afraid of though...

Comforted by his thoughts, and finally understanding a portion of what was happening to him, Cal walked silently, but thoughtfully to a room and a warm bath. It had been a while and he liked his new master suggesting that he partake in some form of cleansing. After a long steamy shower, Cal put on a fresh pair of Padawan robes, strapped on his belt, and went to meet his master in the training room.

He walked in and found Talon, "Hello master, I am ready to confront my fears and re-begin my training as a Jedi."

Cal waited for instructions...

((Completely understandable.))

When Cal came back to the training room to rendezvous with his master, he was to find Talon already waiting. He was meditating again, but he was not in a rest trance as he had been earlier in his room. Instead, he was simply open to the Force, enjoying its sensations and feelings as it flowed about him. Surprising to his apprentice, he was floating several feet off the ground, and several loose objects had lifted into the air around him. They hung about with no particular order or organization”¦ they simply were. More unique, however, than the objects floating was the uncanny glow that emanated from Talon's mobile. While the glow had a more practical use in the field as a biological light, Talon used it now to emphasize a point to his Padawan.

Psyche took off as soon as she heard Scorp say "Your time started". She ran outside into the jungle, just a little apprehensious. It wasn't just a straight run, there were logs, vines, rocks, and all sorts of things in her way. She jumped over some of it, and ran around the rest, but all the time she was thinking, There's no way I'm going to be done in 2 hours. As she ran, Psyche tried to think of a way she could use the Force in this situation. She was in pretty good shape, but all the running was starting to get to her. Eventually she tripped over a rock, sending her sprawling into the ground. It was just then as her mind wasn't totally thinking about running, that she started to notice the noises coming from the jungle. She swallowed, fear rising from her stomach. Psyche started running again, going over the Code.

There is no emotion; there is peace.

Trying to distract herself, Psyche tried to think of a story she had heard about a Jedi. He had attacked a group of soldiers, and they said they could barely see him he moved so fast.

So how did he do it?

Using the Force, Psyche tried concentrating it around her feet. She almost stumbled again when her legs couldn't keep up, so she applied it to her legs as well. They felt revitalized as the Force flowed through them, and her speed doubled. Psyche gave a laugh, then started racing alongside the building.

Odan's counter was a beautiful display of innovative swordplay, and Dashel saluted him for it. While he had another lightsaber or three, it was not yet time to play unfairly with his Padawan. The time for that would come soon enough. Besides, Cypher interested him for some reason.

First, he turned towards Odan. "Interesting move, though most good oponents will have multiple weapons with them and be able to use both hands interchangeable. Second, the hand is a rather small and difficult target since it is usually moving faster."

Dashel looked at Odan for a minute. "Its time for both of us to move into the real world, however. Temple training is fine, but it barely scratches the surface of the challenges you will face in everyday life. I think its time to move your training into the real world."

He retrieved a datapad from his belt and examined it briefly. The condition of Mon Calamari caught his attention, and he though it would be an excellant primary introduction for the difficulties faced by Jedi that wasn't combat related.

"We will be traveling there in my transport. You will find it on docking pad 42 west. Grab any equipment you think you will need and put it aboard. Check through the onboard supplies and make sure we have enough to deal with a variety of problems. Mon Cal is a ruin right now."

He turned towards Cypher knowing his Padawan would do as he was told. Events on and over a certain station had proven Odan's worth.

He again activated his datapad and had the software examine Cypher and bring up any resulting information. The temple records indicated his needing to finish his training, and indicated his physical blindness.

"So, Cypher Skywalker, do you have a new master to finish your training, because if you don't, follow my Padawan and help him prepare my ship. Oh, if you do, don't upset the HRD. She had a problem with Jedi."

Darex nodded, and as the two men made their way to the mess hall, albeit slowly, he spoke.

"There is no emotion; there is peace.

There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.

There is no passion; there is serenity.

There is no death; there is the Force."

He spoke the words of the Code reverently and by heart. "This Code is the basis of what the Jedi believe and stand for. It is every Jedi's duty to honor this Code...and if one strays from it, then it is very dangerous, and the dark side is harder to resist."

They turned a corner, and Darex continued. "The first line--'there is no emotion; there is peace'--is often misunderstood. Of course a Jedi will have emotions. It's natural and impossible to be without, unless you belong to one of the naturally emotionless species. But for us humans, who are driven by our emotions, it is hard to resist. The Jedi Order doesn't ask you to stop being who you are--on the contrary, the emotions of compassion, loyalty, duty, etc, are very important for a Jedi. But what this part of the Code means is that a Jedi does not allow his emotions to control him or to dictate his actions. Attachments especially are dangerous. A Jedi should be willing to sacrifice another Jedi in order to save innocents, no matter how close to that Jedi they are. The peace that comes from this lack of controlling emotions provides a clear mind, an essential in every Jedi.

"Also, the Code is referring to emotions such as anger, fear and hate. There is no room for these emotions at all, as they are a sure path to the Dark Side. There is also a line here. Righteous anger is different, although it must still be guarded against.

"The line 'there is no ignorance; there is knowledge' refers not only to training, which should be of the mind, body, and spirit, but also to knowledge of the situation you are in. Making sure all the factors are present and all sides have presented their evidence before making your decision. Also a general knowledge of the galaxy, and it's species. A Jedi is a mediator, a negotiator, and a diplomat, and that requires at least a general familiarity with other cultures."

He paused as they passed an Adept, who bowed and continued on. "'There is no passion; there is serenity' refers to the state of mind a Jedi should have about them. Serenity is key for a Jedi. Not only does it allow for easier, clearer, and stronger access to the Force, but again, it's important for an understanding of the situation. It's also helpful when working as a peacekeeper. Passion, again, is natural to a certain degree, and it's good to be 'passionate' about helping people, or working to preserve justice. But to become obsessed is insanity, and that is the last quality a Jedi could want.

"Finally, the last phrase--'there is no death; there is the Force'. This refers to how the Force is in all things, even in death. When Jedi die, we become one with the Force, and therefore, the presences of the ancient Jedi are to a certain extent, still with us. A Jedi does not fear death. A Jedi accepts that if it is the will of the Force for them to die, then they die. Death is a natural part of life. To some Jedi, even mourning for those who die should not be permitted."

He frowned slightly. "I disagree there, but their point is valid. Mourning can be a distracting and dangerous emotion as well, and one that had threatened me many times in the past."

They rounded the final corner, and Darex turned to his silent apprentice. "Questions? What can I explain?"

Odan left the traning room and headed to the armory where he collected two blasters and a large number of power packs. He then collected varois medical supplies and an R6 astromech droid dubbed R6-K2. He then arrived at the Docking pad which held his master ship. he entered it and began a sytems check, making sure that nothing was out of place. After the check porivded nothing that would deter the trip to Mon Calamari, he then went to his own ship and collected afew holobooks for the trip. After he got back to the transport, he had the Astromech link up with the navigation computer.

Seraphim remained quiet the entire walk, taking in everything his Master was telling him and making mental notes on the portions he wanted to make a comment about. It was very interesting to have the code explained with the depth and understanding only a Jedi could have. The very last bit of it struck him as oddest so he spoke of it first. When he spoke his voice was even and calm..

"Mourning for others should be allowed. A three day period gives proper respect and time, but does not allow one to over do it. If you are still mourning after that..Then you would know something is wrong and you could seek out help.

Even Righteous anger can be taken to far. Sometimes people commit evil and vile acts in the name of all that is good. Thank you for explaining it better.."

He glanced towards the trays, realizing he wouldn't be able to get one himself and walk at the same time. He gave a half hearted grin as he turned back to face Darex, speaking once more. . .

"You wouldn't mind...getting me a tray would you. Seems I've to choose walking or eating, good thing you are here." He gave the other a quick wink signaling his joking around and sense of humour that his writer found most Jedi had in common.

((If the lower region of the planet is infested with a poisonous concentration of a gaseous chemical...how is there a jungle for Psyche to run into? If we are just 'going with the flow' I'll forget about it..but I'm just curious.))

Cypher listened to the man's words. He had an aparent huskiness about his aura that gave a warrior's preconception to anyone fool hearted enough to judge a book by it's cover...another advantage of being blinded by the hand of the gods. This man had a strong force presence that radiated as the others did. It was not as that of Aryian Darkfire...but it was quite powerful in it's own right.

Cypher quickly erased the thoughts from his calm mind. He knew that power was a misjudgment on the part of young jedi. Power is not what matters...only knowledge and a sense of justice. He nodded to the Master and said calmly, "Yes...Master Dashel..." Cypher turned with a smooth prestige as he slowly made his way out of the training arena to the hangar. The Master would most probably question how he found his name. It was not like a Padawan to be able to reach so far into the force as to hear one's thoughts..but Cypher's other abilities were only beginning to empower themselves to the full extent.

The echoe of his own boots could be heard as the sound bounced from the steel encasing of the hall. The long light strips above were made to give off a moderate source of light. The same technology was taken from the facility on Hoth. The Generator had to power the Pulsars as well as the facility. The overload risk was too high for the engineers to comprehend, and were pushed into creating resourceful inventions.

When Cypher came to the hangar, he watched the padawan from earlier as he returned to the loaded ship. It reminded him of those days so long ago...it was like looking back through time in the eyes of another. He turned and made his way to the A-Wing that lay at rest in the far East side. He slowly approached the old ship as the door swung open. The beep of the SNP droid welcomed him, but he merely raised his hand as his black cloak floated up from the seat and into his outstretched hand. Cypher turned on his heel as he swung the dark cloak around himself and tied it at the top just under the chin and around the waist, giving him an outlaw appearance as he called it.

Moments later, he was back at the ship that the padawan from earlier was preparing. Cypher kept the twin sabers hidden within the confines of the lower part of the cloak as he walked up the ramp and into the innards of the vessel, drawing his hood about his face. His appearance was awe inspiring as his muscular tanned arms revealed themselves at the center of the slightly open cloak that tied to his belt around the back. The scars from his previous training reflected a shade from the dim light above which corresponded to the intricate silk red cloth that only showed partly in the light beyond the cover of the dark hood with his strong cheek bones, nose and chin. His black strap up boots clanked quietly as he made his way towards the main station and blended with the black and red outift and the silver case boxes along his belt which held various items for use in and out of missions.

((1. I thank you for your kind words Darex.

2. the jungle is not filled with posionous gas. it is filled with bacteria that eats very quickly at metals. which is why most metal in the jungle is either eatten or covered in some special goo to prevent such things. The reasons city's exist and such is coz they can filter or rid themselves of the bacteria I think. However there are all sorts of dangers to the jungle so it still nothing to laugh at.))

Scorp figured that while his padawan was busy with the exerisce he had instructed her to do he could at least practice multitasking like he did on Tattooine.

So with out a second though he quickly preformed a handstand using one arm. with his other arm he began to wave it about picking up various objects and floating them around the room.

Psyche continued to run at top speeds, until her leg started to ache. She mentally swore.

I must have hurt it when I tripped.

The jungle was looking more menacing than ever, so she continued on as fast as she could. She stole a galnce back to make sure nothing was following her.

Almost done.

Using the Force, she had made pretty good time, though she was sure she could beat it. But that wasn't her most concerning issue at the moment, as the jungle was rustling ahead. She still had her vibroblades, which she reached for just in case. A feline predator of some sort. It didn't look native to Haruun Kal, it must have been an import or stowaway, though she really couldn't tell. Psyche drew one of her vibroblades, and muttered, "Just leave, just go away." It growled at her and pounced. She held it straight out in front of her, and it skewered the cat. The cat's claws scored into her shoulder though, and Psyche pushed the cat off of her. She inspected the wound. It wasn't too serious, but would need attended too. Good thing she was so near the end of her rounds. Sore and panting, she finished the course, and stumbled inside, finding Scorp and saying, "I... finished." She breathed deep.

Cypher looked about the strange vessel of Master Illioni. It was strange to him, for his lack of being in circulation with the rest of society for so long.

His training had become his life... and his life had become his training.

((Just for the record I made that up myself lol.))

Slowly making his way back to the ramp, Cypher inspected the entrance way which looked slightly beaten from previous adventures of some matter...the hydraulic lines were slightly burnt and showed signs of wear and tear.

This ship has been through a lot...and it showed. Cypher let his hand rest upon the rail as he paced down the ramp. Staring with the force at his own blue glow that slid along it's surface, a path of what seemed to be the force was left in it's wake as it faded not long after he released it from his grip. It was true...the force is everywhere and he now confirmed it. It only took one's mind to focus enough to obtain the ability and wield it. Hence why the Jedi were the advanced and most well known group.

Cypher was sure there were other force users that obtained it differently besides the Sith and the Jedi, sort of like his elemental over wind. As he walked about the hangar, waiting for Master Illioni, he stopped before the long panel glass that overlooked the arena. In the center there remained only two...Scorp Jedi Knight, and his young padawan. From his force sight, he could see she had obvious qualities of beauty, but could not pin point from such a distance.

Temptation...another one of the acclaimed 'sins' of the Jedi. When on Tatooine, he had much time to train himself with the Tai Chi and Kung Fu in the hot deserts. This smothened his attitude and allowed him to control the urges that may arise in any situation. His father had done the same...but he could not resist his wife.

As Cypher turned from the panel and made his way onto the ramp, he thought about how one day his time would come...and then and only then would he let his guard down.
