  1. ((Sorry for delay, Black Friday retail sucks)) Adenna was glad to hear that Trushaun had been made a Knight. They had met before as apprentices and, though their paths had parted, she had always wondered what happened of the curious alien. "After hearing that, I am very glad to embrace you as a friend, Trushaun. It is not easy to sacrifice your home for what is right, so you get my deep respect. I am not sure I could do that myself and pray to the Force that choice is never forced upon me." It was possible that such a thing may happen if events on Thalassia turned for the worse and the slavers returned. If that happened, at least she could muster up a new force and take the planet back. For Trushaun, that didn't seem possible since it was her own people who exiled her. Sandy spoke and was good enough not to blame her. Adenna felt a weight slightly lift from her heart at hearing them. It didn't absolve her entirely of her guilt, but it did ease it some. "Thalassia is doing well. There is some disagreement over how things are run, but they are united against the slavers. I led some minor battles against them to keep them out, but the defense force is really coming along." She smiled warmly and answered what was clearly making the young woman nervous, "Of course, I will take you back as my apprentice. I should have never left you, but now I can fix that mistake and complete your training. I want you to reach your maximum potential so you can one day join the ranks of the Jedi who have long stood for peace and protected the weak." A woman approached and addressed her. Adenna blanched at being called a "master" and for a brief moment, forgot she wasn't on Thalassia where freed slaves were only now getting used to not calling people master and figured it was just a form of respect as she had heard about on other planets. "I will of course answer the Grandmaster's summons," she replied to the woman. He was likely not too pleased at her long absence and wanted to grill her on what she had been doing these last few years. "Sandy, I feel that this may not be a public meeting. I want you to help Trushaun find her old teacher. When my meeting with the Grandmaster is over, I will find you and see what you have learned in my absence." She got up, fixed her robes, and went to the Council Chambers to meet her doom.
  2. Adenna returned the girl's smile. She had been so used to dealing with various slavers, pirates, and Black Sun thugs trying to encroach on Thalassia or worse, politicians trying to eat it up from within, that it was a pleasure to be around such an earnest, straightforward girl with no selfish ulterior motives to wanting to know how she was. Normally, people only asked in an attempt to distract her from their real purposes. It was usually a doomed effort since she was a Jedi, not some random young woman straight from the farm. Well, she was sort of from the farm, just not directly from there. "Remember, I am nobody's master, I am only your teacher," she said softly. Calling anyone a master on Thalassia was a grievous insult now that slavery was banned. "It is good to see you two here, especially after so many have fallen." "I suffered a good deal of injury and loss since that happened," she said sadly. "I regret what happened to you with Ar-Pharazon. I should have come seeking you out, but I could not with the injuries I suffered. After Coruscant, I found myself going home to Thalassia. There, I helped my people rebuild and protect themselves while fighting off encroaching slavers." A bit of wistfulness entered her voice now, "And no, I do not have any nice men out there, all the ones I met are either untrustworthy or dead." She paused for a moment to take a sip of juice. "What have you been doing, Trushaun?"
  3. The unmistakable power of Dahar's message brought a smile to Adenna's lips. Her old teacher had grown quite a bit and she was proud of him. It was time for the Jedi to rise again, and she would be here to help. As the message faded, she felt a new presence draw near. It had been some time since she had been near her apprentice. It wasn't since she was injured that she had been around the girl. In that time, she needed to tend to her own wounds, both physically and mentally, before tending to others. She chuckled as the girl got her own large helping of food and approached her. Sandy seemed to have grown a good deal, in more ways than one. "It is indeed very good to see you, Sandy," she said with an affectionate smile. "You too, Trushaun. It has been some time and I am glad you are both here."
  4. Adenna smiled as she began to recognize several familiar presences within or around the temple. It appeared she was correct in coming here, something she was very grateful for. She wasn't quite sure what was needed, but had faith that the Force would guide her. She entered the temple and began registering her identity with the rather reduced staff that formed the underappreciated but utterly vital backbone of all Jedi operations. They arranged a room for her and directed her to the mess hall where she could get some decent food. Though her shuttle had a small kitchen, it simply wasn't quite the same as the full kitchen and fresh food that could be found planetside. She got herself a plate and began eating while pondering what to do. She figured someone would approach her at some point, but if they didn't, she would seek out whoever it seemed was in charge and offer her assistance.
  5. With a weighty sigh, Adenna pulled back the lever that would bring her out of hyperspace and into the Tython system. It was the first time she had been back in several years and she was not quite sure what she would be facing when she landed. During her absence, she had returned to her home planet of Thalassia to assist with its newfound independence from the various slaver gangs that had once controlled it. Most of her work there had been in mediating disagreements between various leaders struggling to build a coalition government. There had been times when she had to lead its fledgling defense force against encroaching gangs hoping to retake the planet. During the last few months, she had felt increasingly discontent and unfulfilled with what she was doing. She had ultimately decided that the Force was calling her back into the Galaxy and she needed to heed its call. To that end, she had taken the small shuttle that had been one of her rewards from the Thalassian Coalition government and headed to find other Jedi. Vague news had reached her ears about a battle and loss at Gala, so she didn't go there. Instead, she went to Tython, a place that she hoped was still intact. As she landed, she was dismayed to feel how few Jedi were on the planet and hoped that it was not due to losses suffered at Gala. It took a minute to run through all the cool down procedures needed to shut down her ship. When she was finished, she sent out a small pulse through the Force announcing her presence to any Jedi in the area and disembarked to head to the entrance.
  6. Adenna had always accepted that there were things in this Galaxy that she couldn't understand or that didn't make sense. It was as though they were somehow pawns of much higher creatures in an universe that had its own strange rules. It didn't matter, she would weather it as she had before. "What we do now is get to your training," she answered. "Your actions here tell me you have learned a great deal from your past mistakes. I want to start us working on some intensive training in both the Force and physical workouts. Both of us would do well working ourselves and strengthening our minds and bodies." She slung the hammer over her shoulder and gestured outside the hangar wall that led into the wilderness around the Temple.
  7. Slightly disappointed at the anticlimatic ending of this encounter, Adenna took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She flipped the hammer until the head was resting on the ground and leaned up against it. She felt Sandy's hand on her back and was glad that the girl was still standing. "You did well," she said. "You had the self control to protect and cover me instead of rushing in for the kill or fleeing in terror. A crucial part of working as a team is knowing when you need to attack or defend so another, stronger individual can attack." She turned to the grandmaster and asked, "Do you know what that thing was? I have never heard of anything like it before."
  8. Smiling at the teamwork of her allies, Adenna is relieved to see the Archer's charge blunted. That relief quickly becomes concern as the trio suddenly finds themselves swarmed with a large number of opponents. She didn't quite know why, but somehow, she knew that these pale copies were simply wrong. They were breaking all the rules of a well organized and established society and desperately needed to go. Revoltingly, some of these shades bore an unfortunate resemblance to a human child that somehow, despite her strong maternal instincts, made her want to smash them in the face with a brick. In truth, an overwhelming urge to do just that overcame her and gave her strength enough to make the giant hammer she carried seem almost weightless. Using the hammer to deflect the wall of posts shooting toward her took far less energy than she thought it would. Despite multiple of them getting past Sandy's covering her and deflecting off the head of her weapon, they brought with them no lasting impact. She idly kicked one lying on the ground and found they were almost completely without weight. She looked at the reprehensibly vile creatures before them and, with just a tiny bit of focus, noticed all but one was transparent and quite easy to see through. She should have known it was all just another illusion and that there wasn't an invading army. Despite what she already knew of this troll, it was still difficult to believe the lengths in which it would go to divert and hijack the Jedi's lives. If she had thought about it for a few seconds, she would have known that there was no way a creature such as this would have any real allies or friends to support it. Such a being was a solitary creature, capable only of sowing chaos and hatred and only receiving the support of its young spawn which had no real choice but to cling to its forerunner due to complicated legal issues. With a snarl, she clutched her hammer tightly and leaped over Sandy to attack the original, repulsive creature. She ignored the false aliases that were nothing more than a distraction and swung the full weight of the hammer down upon the posting weapon hoping to smash its muzzle and incapacitate it so her allies could move in and start hacking at this creature unencumbered. ((2))
  9. Though the non-Force using maintenance personnel had long since fled, Adenna was glad to see that Kitt and Sandy were joining her in the battered and defiled hangar. She would need help to face this beast as no mere member of the Jedi network could stand against such a horrible and ghastly foe for long. The only way to defeat something like this was with sheer numbers and a firm hand steady enough to press just the right buttons to exile this creature back to the hellaceously wretched lair from whence it came. The first move this troll made was to unleash a massive wave of heat that all but melted the hangar bay away. A small part of her mind was amazed that their fragile flesh was able to survive when the durasteel of the hangar didn't, but she had fallen for the common trap of believing what her opponent presented to her at face value without looking closely at its content. Sweat began to drip down her forehead and temples as the ground of the hangar erupted into an inferno that surely was a foreshadowing of where such a creature was ultimately doomed to spending eternity. Clutching the hammer in both hands, Adenna faced off against increasing army of enemy droids that appeared through the smoke and ash. It was only when the droids began moving that suspicion began to dawn upon her. She had seen children move with more precision and maturity. Her suspicion blossomed to full disbelief when the droids began marching through the inferno unscathed. It made no sense at all, just like a lot of things she had encountered since coming to the Jedi. She needed to follow her first teacher, Dahar's, words and forget her physical senses and trust on the Force. While the Archer monster gloated, she closed her eyes halfway and stretched out with the Force. What she didn't sense was more telling than what she did. Her eyes flashed open and she reacted instinctively. There was one powerful thing that trolls like this couldn't stand against: the light of truth. Drawing on the pureness of the Light Side of the Force, Adenna lashed out, attacking the illusion and hopefully clearing its effects from herself and her allies. Immediately, she began to feel cooler as the imaginary heat vanished. Even though the truth was more powerful than illusions, smashing through the wall of the tl:dr elements of its attacks was draining. Despite finally breaking the chains of lies, she didn't have time to relish in the sweet relief of truth because the Archer monster charged with a wicked looking club in hand. Adenna fell back a few steps, trusting on her allies to cover her while she recovered her strength. ((1))
  10. Before Adenna could provide any sort of answer to Kitt, an impressive wave of utter wrongness spread from somewhere nearby accompanied by slight tremors in the ground. Without warning and completely without invitation, an intruder had invaded her life and the lives of the two people talking with her. Memories of past frustration and despair resurfaced in her mind though she wasn't quite sure where they came from. It was as though a dozen administrators all cried out in weariness and were suddenly drowned out by the screams of utter dismay coming from the masses. For some reason, deep down inside her soul, she knew there was only one weapon that could possibly end the torment wrought by this fell creature: a giant hammer. She cast aside the trepidation that threatened to overwhelm her and stumbled towards the Machinery Room even as others fled in panic. She wasn't sure if Sandy was following, but dearly hoped that the girl wasn't going to do something as audacious as feeding this trollish creature. Kitt, the Grandmaster, would be needed. She wasn't sure if she was going to be strong enough to wield the great hammer alone and might need his support. Once she got to the Machinery Room, her blue eyes scanned the room until they settled on her only hope. There, sitting in a large stand against the wall was a beautifully carved hammer that was at least a meter tall. The handle of this hammer was made of the cold hardened steel of grim resolve. The head of the hammer was as black as midnight and radiated a sense of finality upon whatever it was used against. She dashed over to the tool and beheld its beauty. As she picked it up, she noticed that on the head were engraved faded letters worn down from use. She couldn't make out the entire word, but she was able to make out three words: BAN. Feeling as though she was aging years in seconds, she grabbed the hammer and fought step by step through the miasma of misery being unleashed by the monster. It was a soul sucking, heart corroding experience that threatened to sap her resolve. Only the faint hope of cleansing this site of such a beast and the beauty and wonder that might result kept her going. Hoping against hope that Kitt and Sandy were holding their own against this creature, she stepped into the hangar bay to face the prolifically flaming troll.
  11. "I am not anyone's 'master,' Sandy," Adenna said, though her words were soft and without sting. "I am your teacher, nothing more." While Sandy was consuming an alarmingly large amount of food, she filled the girl in on what she knew about the rise of Faust and the various attacks on the Senate, Corellia, and Kashyyyk. She noticed Grandmaster Kitt was here, waiting for them. She stood up and went to greet him. "Grandmaster," she said with a quick bow, "it appears my apprentice has returned."
  12. Adenna embraced the girl tightly for several long moments before releasing her. "It is so good to see you," she said softly. "I wish we could have more time to relax, but things in the Galaxy are building up to what I fear may be all out war. We need to ready ourselves for the coming conflict." She motioned behind her and said, "I will take you to your new room. It is not much, but it will suffice. Take some time and eat, I do remember you enjoying that. Once you are finished, we will see what you remember and get to work."
  13. In an odd warping of time and space, Adenna was able to go through an entire day without running into Kitt who, unbeknownst to her, was having a single short conversation on the other side of the Temple. She was going through some basic lightsaber drills when she felt the arrival of her apprentice. After turning off the drones she was training against, she put on her brown robe—she still couldn't find a good blue one to wear—and headed to the landing bays. When she saw Sandy, she stopped and waited with her hands crossed in front of her. She couldn't deny that seeing the girl walking again nearly brought tears to her eyes. It was though a piece of her that had been missing was brought back. She had suffered so much loss in the last year, but to have this replaced was perhaps the Force telling her that it was time for her to rebuild.
  14. Adenna was eating when her comm buzzed. It took her a little bit of time to figure out the newfangled Appsung iGalaxy comm unit the Jedi had provided her. Apparently, this thing did just about everything except chew your food for you. It even included a Holonet projector. When she finally figured out how to answer the message sent to her, she was surprised to see that it was Sandy, her former Padawan. The girl had been killed by Ar-Pharazon back on Coruscant. She should have known that Kitt would have stored a sample of her DNA to clone before sending the girl out into the Galaxy with her. Sandy had been killed while she was making her ill resulting attempt to cure Jidai Geki. After that, she had been too brain damaged to do anything about it and was in no condition to have any sort of apprentice. The iGalaxy was equipped with a small holoprojector, so she set it up and sent a reply. "Sandy, I wish I had known you had a clone of yourself made. I thought you were gone forever. Things since you left have not been easy, but I seem to be recovered and active once more. I would be extremely interested in continuing your education and training. See if you can't get a shuttle to Lehon. I will be waiting for you here and we can see about completing your rehabilitation and training." She sent the message and pondered what that would mean for her future. It might be a good thing to spend time here training, though it might seem that the Galaxy might need more Jedi very soon. She didn't know what to do, but trusted on the Force and those Jedi who were wiser to direct her.
  15. Sometimes, she hated that her brain had been scrambled. The information was there and most of the damage was repaired, but there were times when things were out of order. If it wasn't Kitt, she was ashamed to admit that she didn't know who the actual Grandmaster was. Being in a coma for months was only a partial excuse for that. "As you wish," she said. "I will be in the cafeteria eating when you are ready."
  16. Things began to make a little more sense. She should have known upon seeing him that Kitt wouldn't just disappear. He had been sent on some sort of undercover mission, one that would be too dangerous or not feasible for an open Jedi. It must have been something drastic for him to have to clone into a different genetic body. She hadn't even been aware that was even possible, she had always figured that you had to go into a body that was your own, even if it was made stronger or younger. She didn't know what he meant for her to do, but she would do it. He was an infinitely better Jedi than she was. With a bow of her head, she said, "I am at your command, Grandmaster Kitt."
  17. Adenna caught the quick change of emotion but didn't know what to make of it. Clearly he wasn't the only one who had experienced hardship since their parting. "I wish I knew, but I have been in a coma for some time, and before that, I was in a pretty bad place mentally. The Sith attacked and mostly destroyed the temple at Gala shortly after you were reported dead. It cost them, though, because the base self destructed killing many of their forces, and we had managed to get most of our personnel away to secret locations. Plus, in retaliation for the attack, several Jedi who weren't on Gala got with CoreSec on Coruscant and took over the Sith Temple there. We caught them completely by surprise and took down their defenses with only light casualties. The Temple eventually surrendered and we obtained hundreds of Sith prisoners to be locked up in a high security facility. After that, the Temple was stripped of everything valuable or dangerous and destroyed. "As for me, Jidai Geki showed up with a ship full of captive children just before the Sith Temple surrendered. He demanded that I face him in combat for the sake of the children. I had no chance against him and suffered for it, but the children were safe at least. After recovering from that, I made the foolish decision to try to mentally link with Geki and cure him of his madness. Unfortunately, that didn't work so well and the resulting psychic damage put me in a coma for a while and scrambled my memories and personality. It took some time to recover, but another adventure in another man's mind left me in a coma for several months before I woke up here. At least my mind isn't fried, but I don't hold much hope for the man I was trying to save." She shrugged. What was done was done and in the past. She was a Jedi, she couldn't dwell on the past. "From what I can tell, the Sith Order itself was shattered and scattered after Gala and Coruscant. There hasn't been much noise from them so the Jedi haven't been too busy. A month or so ago, Faust reappeared with Black Sun allies and began wrecking havoc. I don't know much about it, but I did hear rumors that there is at least one team of Jedi tracking him."
  18. Adenna began to get the strangest sense that she knew the man. Unbidden memories surfaced with the sensation of deja vu. Adenna investigated the Force a second time and found something quite familiar about the man. It had been over a year since she had seen him and she had thought he was dead. "Grandmaster!" Though she was excited, her voice was barely above a whisper. "I thought you had died!"
  19. Adenna waited in the central entry gate, watching people come and go. Most were simply hired workers who took care of the mundane for the Jedi but had no connection to the Force. A few were Jedi, but they were generally moving purposefully coming from or going on a mission or task. A few nodded at her in greeting, but it was the casual, impersonal greeting of strangers simply trying to be socially polite. After a time, she noticed someone was standing behind her. She didn't quite recognize him, but he seemed confident. She could feel that he had the Force presence of a Jedi, but he wasn't dressed like it. She smiled and nodded at him much like the others had to him. Seeing the wrinkles in his flight suit and the smell of someone trapped in a small area for days, she guessed he just recently arrived. "Where have you been?" she asked casually.
  20. Adenna woke with a start. The room she was in was unfamiliar, but not disturbing. Her body felt no pain or soreness, only a slight sense of restlessness that came from spending far, far too long doing nothing. It did not take long for the machines hooked up to her to notice an increase in her brain activity and send notification to the doctors. There was a flurry of activity around her as the doctors checked readouts and asked questions: Do you know your name? Yes. Do you know what day it is? No. Do you know who your parents are? Yes Do you know where you are? No. Do you know why you are here? Yes. Do you know how this happened? No Do you know what happened to you? Yes. Do you know how you came to be here? No. Do you know what the nanites in your blood are? Yes. Do you feel any pain? No. Do you feel like moving around a bit? Yes. Do you have anyone we can contact? No. She answered the questions while piecing together what had happened to her. She clearly was not on Coruscant any longer because she could not feel the overwhelming sense of sentient life. Instead, she felt more natural life. Judging by the uniforms the doctors wore, she assumed she was in a Jedi facility, likely one of the temples. The only way for her to get here was if something went terribly wrong with her last attempts to revive Jazce and CoreSec sent her here. The only reason for them to do that was if she had some sort of psychic breakdown again. Considering how her body felt, the questions they were asking, and her general sense of the passage of time, she likely was in a coma. At least the Jedi hadn't allowed her muscles to atrophy, she could feel the synthetic chemicals coursing through her body along with the nanites. At least this time she didn't get the sense of lost memories or disjointed personality. Whatever happened didn't destroy her mind, or if it did, the nanites were able to rebuild it. Again. A few days went by with more tests, questions, and physical therapy. No matter what advances modern medicine made, there simply was no substitute for actually moving when it came to keeping your body from withering away into nothing. She wasn't weak, but she was not as strong as she once was. It was almost like coming to the Jedi the first time. She had been used to only light labor and had to work hard to get built up to what a Jedi should be. It would probably not take that long again, not with having done it or with her knowledge of the Force and how to affect the body, but it will still take time. They finally ran out of things to do and released her to a bland set of quarters suitable for a Jedi Knight. The only personal thing she owned was her lightsaber and its carved wooden hilt. It was all she needed. The Jedi provided the rest. She spent only a few minutes in the quarters assigned to her before going to find someone to report to. She might be a little out of things, but she had spent the last few days reading and things didn't please her. A lot of problems were loose on the Galaxy, but at least the mainline Sith seemed to be on the run. Her sacrifice on Coruscant wasn't for naught, neither were the gains made by the Jedi and CoreSec. There was bound to be someone of authority here that could make use of her. ((Basically looking to jump into whatever.))
  21. A Jedi shuttle reverted from hyperspace above Lehon and began dropping into orbit. On board, Adenna contemplated her recent mission to the deadly planet of Haruun Kal without much pleasure. The Jedi enclave there was a wreck beyond being worth salvaging. The Mandalorians had ended up massacring each other and, from what she gathered from the Mandalorian whose alias was Saberforce, did so under the influence of a Force user almost certainly a Sith. Apparently, the Sith had been given enough time after their defeat on Coruscant to regroup and strike out. They weren't yet strong enough to hit any major Jedi facilities nor were they able to field their own armies just yet. That meant co-opting someone else and Mandalorians, from what research she was able to do on the flight here, were perfect soldiers to work with. If the Sith were now turning outsiders to their cause by force, then the Jedi needed to be careful. Adrian was, as usual, silent beside her. She did not interrupt his brooding, but allowed him to keep his thoughts. The first thing she needed to do was to report her findings and suspicions to the Jedi Council so that they may deal with it appropriately. This was something beyond her, especially if the Sith were involved. CoreSec also needed to be put on alert. Without them, the entire Coruscant operation would have failed and the Sith had as much a reason to hate the police force as the Jedi. As soon as they landed, she bid Adrian farewell and went off to file her report. When that was done, she began catching up on the news that had happened since departing to Haruun Kal. Fortunately, there wasn't too much going on that directly concerned the Jedi. The Sith had been busy licking their wounds and rebuilding which meant that the Galaxy had been at relative peace. There was something about the Bothans seceding, but she wasn't sure how that was going to play out. She was most displeased to find that Kirlocca had been exiled. If any of the elder Jedi could be considered a friend, he was the one. He had looked after her on the derelict Death Star and helped her learn to fight. Her mind, only now recovering from the devastation wrought upon it by Geki, was still too busy processing that information to make a decision. The Council had failed her once, and this was a decision of monumental proportions that she didn't know if she could sit idly by at watch it happen. First things first. There was a message for her from CoreSec. A blue skinned alien she had seen a few times in the lobby left her a brief message informing that Jazce had returned had asked for her. That news was of great interest to her. He had been out on a mission of sorts when she left Coruscant and she had not heard from him since. That he was back and asking for her gave her hope that perhaps not all of her drug and coma induced delirium was imagined. It didn't take too long to find a transport to Coruscant. She didn't have much to pack and eagerness to reach her destination drove her. Just an hour and a half after landing on Lehon, she set out once more.
  22. Adenna nodded in acceptance of SaberForce's desire to remain somewhat anonymous. She didn't require knowledge of everything about him as long as she sensed no treachery from him. Everyone was entitled to their secrets, including herself. Adrian spoke up and seemed in favor of her plan, and SaberForce had not argued against it. She did lift a finger in caution for her Padawan's sake, "It is probably best that we do not mention coming here. Not only will it raise suspicions, but if we are asking about this place, word could get back to whoever orchestrated this attack and it would cause a great deal of problems for a lot of us." She addressed the Mandalorian and asked, "Do you have any objections? If not, I offer use of our ship as means of transport if you need it. That is, unless you have a ship of your own. I wouldn't want to leave it out here around the metal consuming fungus any longer than necessary."
  23. Adenna took one look around the ruined room and considered. "Well, it is entirely possible that these men didn't come straight here and leave without going to at least one of the settlements. If they were sent by the Sith, it is possible they knew where this place was, but if not, they may have been forced to ask around among the locals. I am not an investigator, but I have spent a sizable amount of time in a hospital bed surrounded by plenty of them and managed to pick up a humble amount of their ways. It won't help much, but perhaps with your brawn and my Padawan here, we can make some quiet inquiries." She motioned for Adrian to come forward. "Adrian here is a doctor, and one who seems more than casually interested in the various types of microbiology here. I propose that we go into the capital here under the guise of a doctor, his student, and a a bodyguard. He is, obviously, the doctor, and due to my age, I could easily pass as a medical student studying under him. You, of course, would be a bodyguard since the doctor here isn't so ignorant as to travel to a place such as this without at least some protection. We could make the rounds and casually ask about rumors of well armed expeditions going out into the lowlands where he could study the native flora and fauna in more detail. It is entirely likely that someone may mention seeing your Mandalorians departing or at least remember them asking questions. Once we get on their trail, we can backtrack it and find out additional information such as where they got supplies or if they paid with anything in electronic credits. I have some friends in CoreSec who can probably trace financial transactions for us and possibly link to whomever was paying those who attacked this place." She shrugged and glanced back at the soldier. "Does that sound good to you, Mr. . . ." She frowned, "I don't believe I caught your name."
  24. Adenna's face remained placid, her voice even. Her memories had been stripped, but her sense of logic remained. "There may be none left here in this very outpost, but what of the survivors of this raid? What of those who sent them? I doubt that the attackers would have left any of the Jedi alive if they were victorious and if there were Jedi survivors, they would have reported in making my trip unnecessary. Since the Jedi have not reported, it is logical to assume that they have all been either killed or captured. It is possible that both sides wiped each other out, but that is unlikely. There are no abandoned ships in the area to indicate that the entire attacking force had been destroyed so it is reasonable to assume the survivors took their ship or ships and left this place either for another city or to go offplanet. "We have no way to know what they did here. A clever foe could easily have doctored the scene to make it look however they wanted. For all we know, none of the Mandalorian bodies here fell in this battle. They could have been staged. They could also have been just wearing the armor in the hopes of throwing off you or the Jedi. It is only a logical assumption that Jedi would eventually send an investigator to determine what happened here, what better way to get away with this crime than to cast the blame off on some rogue group of Mandalorians? These could be Sith or even Black Sun agents. Both would have great reason to attack the Jedi and both have the resources to cover their tracks. "Senator Ardell has worked with the Jedi and CoreSec in the past, it is also possible that either or both of those two targeted him as way of revenge, or as part of their early attacks against the Jedi on Gala. They may have accidentally attracted your attention by using Mandalorian armor which would lead you to assume that these are all this rogue group of Mandalorians. "My point is that you do not yet know what I have theorized is not true, unless you have further evidence that you have not disclosed. Even if you do have such evidence, it could very well be that these Mandalorians were merely pawns in a much greater plot. I do not believe it is wise to discount any possibility until we have far more evidence, and one of the best ways to do that is to track the survivors here or, at the least, the ones who sent them, and interrogate them."
  25. Adenna's eyes glazed over slightly as she thought on what he said. In a few seconds, they snapped back into focus as she tilted her head sideways slightly. "Armor may be significant to your culture, but it is not all powerful. Jedi tend to favor browns and tans, but only a fool would assume that a Force user in tan robes was always going to be a Jedi. Sith have been known to disguise themselves as Jedi just as Jedi have been known to wear black in the night. It is not hard to sense the disdain from you even without the Force. I have the impression that you believe yourself honorable, yet if you disdain these, why do you assume they also share your sense of honor? Are you so sure that someone did not plant this armor or that they are not trying to guide your steps toward their own purpose? "Having just had a revelation about poor information myself, might I suggest that you may need more than just pieces of armor? It may be prudent to see if the survivors of this team are still on the planet or, if not, where they went. It seems to me that having a live prisoner would answer far more questions than a pile of bodies. Even if they can withstand interrogation from you, I do not believe they could resist the power of a Jedi as well. If you can find one alive, I am certain that, between the two of us, we can find whatever information they may possess."
