Dubrillion

The Gladiator landed just behind SadowFett. Avion was hesitant to leave his ship however. But he still had something that would brighten the other bounty hunters mood. Or so he hoped.

The Zabrak approaced Fett, Piccolo, and Daisaku with a grim expression on his face.

"I am the reason why our mission failed, the padawan escaped under my watch. It is my responsiblity. If you are going to punish anyone, punish me."

Avion tried to keep his eyes from meeting those of Kabal Daisaku. He just hope the man was a forgiving one.

"We didn't leave empty handed however. I was still able to retain this."

Avion extended his hand to reveal a shiny piece of metal. Jedi Master's lightsaber.

"I don't know how much good it will be."

Kabal's eyes befell on Fett and then on Avion,

"Bring it here, Avion. Let me examine it, this may prove quite useful. I have heard of the fate of this mission before your arrivals and I lay blame on no one. As a matter of fact, Captain Piccolo and I were discussing a fitting way for us to regain our... honor, after this loss."

With eyes observing the lightsaber, Kabal began to make motions of his plan, as a large projection brought images of a frosty world home to plenty of Jedi lore and legend.

"With sufficient allies and planning, I wish to damage this world and off-balance the Force in this place. Let the Jedi rekindle their spirits or arm themselves in the absence of such a wonderful place."

Placing his finger on the activation stud, a beam of energy emerged...

"Too bad, none of us can learn to wield it. Very rare for one who exists separate from the Force's whispers to use such a weapon. We shall keep it as a trophy, whose blade, might I ask?"

Piccolo appreciated Kabal's forgiveness. He hadn't expected anger from Daisaku, as, in his mind, the Jedi had played this out very unprofessionally. Piccolo had tried to be reasonable, but they spit it back in his face. Normally Piccolo was willing to except his own errors, but in this case, he was so blinded by his anger he saw no fault except on the part of the Jedi.

The hunter looked over the plan carefully, and grinned beneath his helmet. It was a start. An excellent start. It also gave him several more ideas of how to deal with the Jedi as they deserved to be dealt with. With Kabal, Fett, and the others contributing in on this, they could pull off enough to bring the Order to its knees.

"I know allies are important, but at the very least we'd be safe on this secret base. I'd like permission to start on what is outlined here. I think without help we could pull off this part. If you allow it, I will need to be able to call on full use of the Black Sun operatives, equipment, and fleet support."

Kabal's eyes pricked with anticipation, drawn from the hum of the lightsaber...

"Yes, Captain, of course. However before we initiate a full act... I'd like to personally take part in this, the Lady Indiscretion could use a real test of its combat effectiveness. But, feel free to use all assets within our control... I trust in your wisdom. And I fear our allies may be delayed for some time... we may have to turn to less conventional sources of aid."

He slid his thumb again across the activation stud, watching the energy beam fade away... "Impressive design. A priceless treasure and bargaining chip..."

Ki ran her finger lightly across the back of Kabe's neck,

"Very impressive, it is a shame that no-one else can use it though... such a pretty weapon... elegant..."

She continued to caress the back of his neck as she watched him examine the saber.

"I hope you'll teach me the finer points of swordplay soon my love... I'm itching to get some new skills and to learn from an expert such as yourself..."

She winked at him and breathed warm air against his neck, connecting her lips to his skin lightly...

OOC: I don't want to make a poor impression, Kabal, but don't get too into Fett's thoughts and manners in this post. He's never had reason to be like this before, and never has.

IC: He knows nothing of the meaning of honor, ShadowFett thought to himself. Kabal would be a fine leader, but he still had much to learn, despite being Fett's superior in command. Defeat was never a loss of honor--only a reminder that much was in need of improvement. It was a pity he was in no place to instruct the man. He would follow.

"That," he said, "is the blade of Jedi Master Kirlocca, a wookie I killed on Ilum. He unfortunately forced me to kill him rather than allowing me to capture him, for his tactics dishonored me."

He took the weapon with as much respect as he could muster from Daisaku's hands and clipped it to his belt, a trophy to be worn only by him as a prize. It was not every day that one had the opportunity to fight a Jedi Master, and this would be a sign of the glory he regained that day.

The plan suggested made strategical sense, but ShadowFett did not like it. Disarming one's opponent was one of the least honorable things one could do. Fighting Jedi weakened by lack of their natural weapon was like fighting a Mandalorian without his armor or a wookie stripped of his tremendous strength.

Furthermore, Fett would not partake in it. "I respectfully disagree with the mission you speak of, Lord Daisaku," he said. "If we must resort to weakening our opponents before we attack, that only makes us weaker by making us believe that we cannot beat them otherwise."

OOC: The use of "honor" or getting into his thoughts was not intentional nor attempted. A thief and a warrior each have their own views of the same word. You don't have to be so respectful, if you choose, a bit of dynamics within the Black Sun due to disagreement is a good thing.

IC:

Daisaku returned the blade, "I merely sought to inspect the weapon. I had no knowledge of who attained it's acquisition. For that accomplishment alone, is vastly impressive. On the secondary note, a Mandalorian's view of honor is not the only one... though you may see it that way. Disarming an opponent, if not honorable, is tactically advantageous... and from a perspective of cutting our losses, I see honor."

Pausing, if only to see whether he'd have an immediate counter-argument, before continuing...

"We fight an enemy whose numbers are small but whose legends are great. By crippling their will, damaging them emotionally; we force their much larger ally, the Republic, to act."

Kabal's eyes studied the Hunter with interest.

"In turn, the Empire and the Sith... as well as SEED will depart from their senseless Civil War to crush a mutual enemy. Then... you may fight them as you see fit with the Mandalorian sense of honor, when balance has been restored and your target does not hide in the shadows."

With a final gesture, "Furthermore... while I honor your counsel, I have spoken with Captain Piccolo, Father's right-hand man, now mine, and we see no flaw in this plan."

One last second, his eyes still on Fett...

"I hold little for the thrill of battle, I much more value the thrill of power and wealth... what good is power and wealth if I am dead, due to a foolish, yet honorable, crusade? However, honorable Fett, if you have an alternative to offer, I'd glady hear it."

OOC: Now, I didn't say anything aloud about honor, but I can assume that Kabal picked up on it from what I did say.

IC: ShadowFett quickly realized that he had less in common with his leader than he had originally thought. The two humans both shared completely different goals, a different sense of how the galaxy worked, and a completely different motive.

Personally, he didn't care for the view of Kabal Daisaku. "Then forgive me if I don't participate in the mission on Ilum, Lord Daisaku," he said firmly, clearly showing that he wouldn't be going regardless of whatever answer the son of Smash Daisaku gave. "My only suggestion is that rather than poisoning our enemy as they sleep, we challenge them in a more approprate manner. Even ones as lacking in honor as they could not turn down a challenge to open combat such as that."

Fett was slightly uncomfortable arguing with the leader that he had always followed, but his actions were ruled by his morals, and what his morals demanded of him he followed without question. Even if it cost him his job, his health, or even his life.

So was the power of the Canons of Honor.

"Well, Agent Fett, as productive as launching our forces into a head-on battle with the Jedi... while you may have survived and defeated the wookiee Jedi, Kirlocca and Piccolo may have locked blades with others within the Order... do you expect the Black Sun Forces as a whole to overcome the cowardly, yet still powerful, Jedi Order as a whole? We are still weak to their Force prowess. The Black Sun has always fought searching for an advantage... if my understanding of my father's dealings is correct. I have no fear that you yourself may survive a conflict, but what of young Avion or Will? Who else within this organization would dare cross blades with a Jedi on their ground?"

Kabal's eyes befell the map of Ilum, "I am not forcing you to participate... it is your choice. I am also not in the need to terminate those still valuable to me, so... if you are in the mood of challenging the Jedi hands-on, consider this... You have the job to hunt Jedi while the bulk of our resources are focused on this. You can challenge them on your own terms, I only ask that you capture all of those who are Knights or Masters. A tribute to our Force-wielding allies, the Sith, may remind them of our contributions to their cause."

Content with the meeting, Kabal turned his eyes on Captain Piccolo, "Take Avion Chiss and any other Operative you deem neccessary and scout the planet. Report back to me and engage as you wish... should you find it neccessary, take a Star Destroyer, a Mon Calamari Cruiser, and a squad of 10 A-wings as fighter escorts. If neccessary, Ki and I shall bring the rest of the Fleet escorted by the Lady Indiscretion."

With a last pause, "As I have said, Agent Fett, you are free to engage Jedi as you see fit. Kill their Padawans, capture their Knights and Masters. Kill well... and do not negotiate."

ShadowFett nodded and turned on his heel, headed back towards his modified Corellian YT-2000 stock light freighter, which was now less freighter and more fighter, though retaining its size. He had replaced most of the cargo room with engine systems, with the exception of a small area set aside for two small prisoner cages.

The Mandalorian boarded the ship. "2277, we're going solo for now," he said confidently and as enthusiastically as he good, for the sake of his droid if not himself. In a way he felt like he was abandoning the Black Sun, but at the same time he knew that he had no choice and that he could still help it quite a bit by doing what Kabal told him to.

Where to start...., he thought. Jedi could be found pretty much anywhere, so he decided to pick a random planet and start hunting. First stop--Tatooine, he chose. He didn't know how much Jedi liked to hang around on Tatooine of all planets, but maybe he would find one investigation smuggler activities or the dealings of the Hutts.

On the subject of Hutts, whatever had happened to Whyl? These thoughts hardly concerned Fett, who assumed the obtuse being had been either killed or simply was lying low. Sometime he would pop up again, the hunter knew.

Lifting his ship off the ground, the bounty hunter turned towards deep space and rocketed out of the atmosphere, headed for the far outer rim.

Piccolo nodded, a little disappointed in Fett's decision not to go in for this trip back to Ilum. Piccolo valued Fett's code, but in his mind the key to maintaining one's honor was complete loyalty to whatever you have pledged yourself to. He would have to accept Fett's decision for now.

"Avion, Will, meet me on Ilum immediately. Draj and Jag, I'm sure Kabal or I will have something specific for you very soon, don't get discouraged."

Piccolo ordered the Black Sun Captain to send the Frigate, A-wings, and one SD on ahead to Ilum. The hunter also had a special crate loaded on to his ship, containing his pet vornskyr. Satisfied he was completely prepped the hunter was soon deep into hyperspace.

Avion nodded in agreement as he began to tread behind Piccolo. The Zabraks thoughts began to shift towards his two vibroblades resting at his hips. If he was going to be facing Jedi, his swords would do him no good.

He took an immidiate turn to his left and found hiself amid a plethra of weapons. He had never seen so many guns in his life. Good thing he already had something in mind.

A lone sniper rifle resting in the corner of the room cought his eye.

"Perfect," he said as he carried his new weapon to his ship. Within a few moments, The Gladiator blasted off towards hyperspace.

A secure and encrypted communications is brought to the attention of Kabal Daisaku, finally reaching Dubrillion from other channels.

Lord Daisaku,

This is Vladimir Faust. I am currently engaging in a small operation against the Alliance and Jedi, assured to result in the complete destruction of both. I will have need of three of your operatives and am willing to pay handsomely for their services. Two must be splicers of the highest quality and the last must be someone expendible if you catch my drift and with a moderate midi chlorien count. I'm afraid you will not be getting the last one back, but the other two are temprorary loans. I will need the first two to meet me on Coruscant and have the plans for the Galactic Senate and its security detail explicitly laid out with the utmost precision.

Thank you for your time and discretion on this matter.

In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed - but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

OOC: Sorry... RL getting the better of me, again. If what Robbie wanted hasn't already happened... then, Fett, Drag and Jag get to it.

IC:

Kabal's eyes pricked up, "Well, Mr. Fett, if you'd like a more hands-on mission, I'm sure you'd care to engage in the company of one of the most infamous Bounty Hunters for a bit more full-frontal combat and discourse with the Jedi and the Alliance. Of course, take Drag and Jag with you."

--Comm from Avion Chassis--

Dasiku sir,

This is Avion Chassis, the empire has left Ilum somewhat undefended and we have taken several samples of crystals. They should be on their way back to Dubrillion.

Piccolo and the rest of the BS fleet have gone to assist the Empire in the taking of Coruscant. I will also be attending the battle once this comm has been sent.

Sitting on his arse the whole time, Kabal managed a deep laugh, "I will rake in profits from the demise of the Galaxy, such is the way of rich and powerful men. Father would be proud."

The Comms as well as the shipment came in and were replied to accordingly.

Before long, Kabe's office on Dubrillion was decorated with numerous Jedi crystals... "Now only for a wookiee pelt and this place would be just excellent."

Will wandered around the complex because he had no place to go and he wasn't a Black sun hunter. So he fiddled with his gadgets until figuring out something to do.

"... What will I do if piccolo shows up again? ...." he thought

" and what will I do if he doesn't? should I get back to Tatooine and become a freelance?....."

Will pondered this while he was walking around the large Black Sun complex.

A holovid projector alerted the head of the Black Sun to the wandering presence of Will, which struck Lord Daisaku a bit under the belt.

"Agent, come to my office!" Boomed throughout the loudspeakers, a droid assistant approached the wanderer and directed him towards his boss' office.

Agent Will, if you would follow me please, Lord Daisaku wishes to inquire about your profession and stance with the Organization...

Ki drapes her arms around Kabe's neck, admiring the pretty crystals that now decorated his office.

"And where my love, will you get the wookie pelt from? That Jedi master I've heard so much about or elsewhere?"

At his order of the other agent's presence, Ki kisses Kabe's cheek before asking slyly,

"Do you wish for me to leave or take notes?"

Ki trailed her hand across the back of his neck as she sensually moved around to slide onto his lap, draping one arm around his shoulders, the other caressing his face.

"Don't mind taking notes from here..."

She mischievously caught his eye and moved to get herself more comfortable.

With a series of staccato flickers of pseudomotion too quick for the unaided eye to track, the Black Sun fleet returns to Coruscant, led by ShadowFett in the Night of Vengeance and his droid, 2277, piloting Piccolo's ship, the Howling Runner.

The two ships landed, followed swiftly by a single transport that carried the injured Piccolo down to the planet for medical treatment.

ShadowFett left his ship and had 2277 board it for his next use. The Mandalorian then found Kabal Daisaku.

He felt mildly annoyed that Kabal's romantic was there with him, but he ignored her and focused on his leader. "Lord Daisaku, Coruscant has been razed flat down to where the Upper Levels meets the Bowels. Nothing remains of either the Imperial or the Alliance fleets, and SEED is roaming the surface."

The hunter paused for a moment, wishing that the Jedi he killed had had a lightsaber he could have brought as a trophy, remembering Kabal's interest in the weapons. Instead, he added to his report, "Many Jedi have died this day."

Hypercomm Transmission Initializing:

Greetings... I am seeking ShadowFett. This is Fallen Jedi Kyp Durron, recently returned from the Unknown Regions. I request an audience... if he would supply me with hyperspace coordinates to his base, I could be there possibly in a day or two. Tell him we met once before, a long time ago... and it would be considered a great favor.

Kyp out.

End Transmission.

The doctors rushed the hunter into the medical wing working to stop the bleeding. They would work to replace his lost muscles and skin with more implants. Piccolo saw every loss of his original body as a testament to failure.

ShadowFett was awaiting an answer from Lord Daisaku when the comm came in. He was curious to see who the originator of the transmission was, for he rarely left aquaintences either wanting to meet him again or even alive, depending on who they were.

Then again, this person could simply be someone who had seen him work once and remembered, or even someone he had never truly met with only mischief in mind.

Regardless, he sent the coordinates of Dubrillion back in response. Whether the man (or alien) was coming to make trouble or to join with the Black Sun, everything could be handled from the planet's surface. Fett would see to it.

He didn't need to leave on Kabal yet, and he figured he had a few days anyway, so he continued to await either orders or even a simple acknowledgment from his leader.

*The familiar blue-white of hyperspace surrounded the XJX-Wing as Kyp Durron meditated and rested on his way to Dubrillion. The proximity warning drew Kyp out of his trance in time for him to pull the hyperdrive actuator lever and snap the blue-white back into starlines, finally resolving into the familiar starfield of the Dubrillion System. As Kyp approached the atmosphere of the planet, he opened a comm channel...*

Kyp Durron to the Dubrillion Planetary Traffic Control, Request permission to land.
