  1. Concerning Raynuk Montar's last post -- I've been asked to take a look at this one-post rescue and escape that has gained some notoriety in the last 24 hours. I think this is a definite case of doing a bit too much in one post and decidedly not the best form considering it denied other present PCs the opportunity to interact with the events when they might realistically have. I think flying in, fighting off the drexels, and landing next to Jaina is reasonable for one post, if even that on the upper end. Everything after the following is nulled: I'll be interested to see what happens with Telperiën and the others.

    Kashyyyk

Black Sun vs the boarding parties -- I reviewed a bit of information about the original Golan defense platforms and quickly discovered that they are over 1200 meters long and about a third as wide. Putting that into perspective, it's about 118 acres or something like 50 city blocks. They're pretty big. I do appreciate the tactic of setting up the killshot before the previous one was made on the station, but given the uncertainty of the yield of the collars as well as the size of the station, I don't think we're going to get the level of destruction described in the killshot. Furthermore, the core being disabled and powered down by the bombing run should keep it from going critical and blowing up spectacularly. Since the entire station is not going to be destroyed, and given that none of the PCs involved were stated to be particularly close to the slaves when it happened, I don't think I can arbitrarily rule that any of them are in more danger than others. I like what the killshot had going for it, but I don't think it's enough to kill a bunch of PCs. So I must conclude: << Killshot Failed >> That said, the station is now in very bad shape. Deck plates have buckled and with no power for the emergency bulkheads much of it is now exposed to vacuum. The power core was mostly destroyed and is now leaking dangerous radiation out into space, and the explosions have caused the station to begin to tumble towards Kashyyyk. Not all of the boarding parties were as fortunate as the PCs and some of them were caught in the blast, inflicting Imperial and Jedi casualties. The mission to liberate any slaves aboard has failed as they have all perished, as has any thought of capturing an intact defense platform. With no remaining AP invested here, Black Sun has lost their ability to defend Kashyyyk from attack and the attackers may play out their liberation of the world as they please.

    Kashyyyk

Even by a very conservative reading of this battle, it's clear that the Black Sun is badly outmatched. I think leaving the attack to the bombers was a very modest move when two Star Destroyers are available, but it is in fact nearly one hundred bombers against only a Golan I platform and a couple squadrons of interceptors. The Lancer frigate Benedictus was noted as hanging back behind the ISDII Ascalon and should be safe from the defense platform's assault. Because of this, it's unable to lend the bombers any assistance against the interceptors, but there are plenty of TIE Defenders for that. The Imperial Remnant force suffers a few casualties. In the first moments of the battle most of the Black Sun interceptors are destroyed by the Remnant TIE Defender vanguard and the bombers reach the Golan to deliver their considerable payloads. <> Next move goes to the Remnant.

    Tatooine

I received a tip that there's some pretty distasteful things going on in this thread and the mod team agrees. What started with Tros catching a Trandoshan cheating at cards has led to slave rewards which included pictures of real people (who are apparently minors). Your characters might be creeps, but there's no reason we need to have those kind of details in this RP. We're not going to tolerate that kind of thing and if it happens again we're going to have a real problem. I have removed the images. Tros, I recommend skipping the rest of the present scenario if you weren't already going to.

  7. There are over 80 locations currently represented in the RP as topics, but not every planet that might serve as the setting of a story requires a dedicated topic, planetary signature, and representation on the Galaxy Map. This topic will serve to encapsulate such circumstances. For the sake of clarity, use of your post's subject field or an OOC note is recommended so that it will be easy to tell what is happening on a given world.

Heavily fortified since thousands of years before the battle of Yavin, it was natural for such a world to evolve into the leading military and naval training system in the Old Republic. Though most ground based military were trained at the Caridian Academy, the Naval War College of Anaxes became the leading supplier of superior officers to the Republic military. Having changed hands several times throughout the galactic civil war, the War College is now used primarily by the Galactic Alliance, and with the signing of the Zinthos-E’lann treaty, the Imperial Remnant will now be training alongside the Galactic Alliance at the college. Bringing the next generation of fleet officers of both the GA and Remnant together. Anaxes is also the location of the Joint Military Command, where joint operations between the Remnant and GA are planned and executed.

    Tatooine

Black Sun vs Tatooine: Tatooine is one of the easiest planets in the galaxy to take. With only a few cities and a total population that barely breaks 6 figures, there's no organized resistance. There might be a few annoyed crime bosses in remote locations that resist Black Sun control, but Black Sun can certainly set up shop on Tatooine. The Tuskens and Jawas are really a nonfactor, caring little for the change in power. Invasion Shot Successful

When the sun shone, the environment glittered like multicolored glass. Most of Felucia was entirely covered by a humid, fetid landscape of huge fungal forests, and its wildlife included native gelagrubs, immigrated acklays, and a prodigious sarlacc. Felucia had strong ties to the Living Force, and as such the world's flora and fauna, including Jungle Felucians, could be influenced by a presence of a strong Force-user, both light and dark. Most plants and animals of Felucia had adapted special defenses to protect them from each other, which made them particularly hostile to off-worlders. Felucia was known to radiate a sort of life force that the native Jungle Felucians were capable of feeling. Recently, a Jedi Temple has been built there.
  11. As there has been interest in using the Ruins of Ziost for further RP, I have pulled this thread out of the archive. It was archived after its destruction in 2010 by the Death Star in the following post, which I will quote here to mark the moment in the planet's past when it was destroyed for the benefit of any future visitors: Carry on.
  12. Feldstar Gik vs Ganelon of Seneferia -- I really enjoyed this read. Feldstar's first post had a few formatting and grammar issues that can are easily overcome by some of the very solid writing that followed. Ganelon's characterization was good fun as well. Not all that complex, but with only a couple short posts, more than sufficient to give the duel some flair beyond the tactical actions. Ultimately tactical actions have to decide the outcome of this duel. Ganelon executed very well on a two-post combo that used his surroundings very effectively. Feldstar, meanwhile, although I like the ingenuity of the flashlight trick, didn't really do much of anything else, nor did he post a single attack. While it would have been nice to see Ganelon at least acknowledge the flashlight, it's likely that his attack would have played out the same way regardless of whether he fell for it, given the copious amounts of alcohol covering nearly every surface in the vicinity. Herglics are tough, and the attack might not be lethal, but it's sufficient. The winner is Ganelon of Seneferia. I look forward to seeing more from both of you.
  13. Feldstar Gik vs Willet the Fuzzy Ewok: I liked what I saw in this fight. Willet had limited options for taking on such a lumbering foe and opted for a straightforward charge true to character. Feldstar had a good first duel. I like that you conceded some damage in the second post and refrained from posting any hits. These are the fundamentals of good dueling -- fairness towards your opponent. Grammar doesn't need to be perfect in duels as it's somewhat secondary to making yourself understood, but I think if I had to point to one thing that would make your posts read a bit nicer is if you ran them through a good spellchecker before hitting submit. Ultimately, I just don't see Willet and his simplistic tactics taking down a Herglic CoreSec officer. Using his superior size and physical might, Feldstar's tactics in post #2 should be sufficient to squish his diminutive foe into Ewok paste. Feldstar Gik wins. Looking forward to reading the next fight!
  14. Sounds like fun. If Wyvernfall wants to start, I might be interested in jumping in later.

    Nubia

After some discussion within the mod team, we've decided on how to handle this. - The "Invasion Shot" mechanic is not currently a part of the rules. It will be Soon . - When it does become active, it will ordinarily require additional setup than what is here, and for faction planets there will be a defense. Furthermore, a PC will be required to be present. - Currently Nubia is a member of the Galactic Alliance, which is still for the time being more or less protected by the rules. However, given the upcoming transition, the GA is supposed to be losing planets, and this was well handled in a believable way. Given that, we're okay with letting this one go, with the understanding that ImpSec is part of the Imperial Remnant, which will be required to defend Nubia when the new rules go live.
  16. Ultimately, Commander Aegis knew he and his troops needed to do their best to minimize civilian casualties, and the men on the ground would be willing to put their lives on the line for that shot. "Ground teams go," he ordered. Snipers opened fire. Marines burst through doorways and rappelled down through skylights, opening fire on any active combatant they could find. Gunfire was exchanged. They couldn't save all the hostages, so they did the best they could. From where Aegis was standing, all he could do was wait and listen while the troop commanders on the ground oversaw the operation and be ready to act if things got out of control. Several minutes later, it was over. The Commander looked down at the scene and the bridge crew was silent. Casualty reports were coming up from the surface. The threat, including the ringleaders, were reported neutralized at the cost of good soldiers. "What a mess," he said. "Report back to command. Begin cleanup. We might be here a while." He started to walk back to his ready room. "Oh, and look into this Cult of Morthos thing."
  17. GA aircraft swarmed over the mall where the terrorists were holed up with hostages and could see that there was still shooting going on inside. Troops approached on foot and through the air, surrounding the building. Snipers located their targets, finding shots through windows and skylights when possible while others trained their weapons on every possible exit. "Terms accepted, Mr. Fett," the Commander said over comms. "On the condition that you do not kill another individual. You'll come out and board the transport outside, which will convey you directly to Naboo." He cut the comm and opened another one. "The only way they're leaving that structure is in body bags, am I clear?" he said to his forces. "Terrorism doesn't pay in the Galactic Alliance. If they agree, take them down when they leave. If they refuse, take them down quickly and minimize civilian casualties." "Sir, our eyes down there report that they may be planting explosives around the structure." Aegis frowned. Perhaps the terrorists had resigned themselves and everyone in the building to death. Swarming the building with troops just became a risky proposition. "Train turbolasers on the structure," he ordered. "Sir?" the weapons officer asked. "Do it. One way or another, that scum is dead."
  18. "Sir, shall we attempt to track the corvette?" the sensor officer asked. "Let them go," Commander Aegis said. "It wasn't an active combatant. Do try to get a better ID on it, though. The real situation is on the ground." "Comm from the surface, sir. It appears the terrorists are attempting to negotiate." Aegis nodded and listened to the comm. "Let's keep this by-the-book," he told his crew. "Disperse several squads into the city to secure affected locations, but converge several -- as well as a sniper team -- on the source of the transmission. Open a channel in response." He drew himself fully upright. "We are open to negotiation, and there's no need for anyone else to get hurt," he said. "Might I inquire who it is I'm speaking with, and what your demands are?"
  19. With a flicker of pseudomotion a Galactic Alliance MC90a Star Cruiser appeared over Bothawui, accompanied by a Quasar Fire-class carrier and a Nebulon-B frigate. Several squadrons of fighters were launched and drop ships laden with GA marines, many of which were veterans of the Galactic Civil War, were sent down towards Drev'starn to put an end to the ongoing terrorist attack. The captain of the Star Cruiser decided to be merciful and give the aggressors a chance to live. "Corvette Star Divine, this is Commander Aegis of the Galactic Alliance Star Cruiser Paladin," the man said over comms. "You will surrender at once and your crew will face a fair trial in Galactic Alliance courts. You will likewise order your strike team to cease hostile action and surrender. If you refuse, you will be destroyed."

    Manaan

Manaan Astrographical Information Region: Inner Rim Sector: Unknown System: Pyrshak Orbital Position: 2 Moons: 0 Grid Coordinates: P-9 Physical Information Class: Aquatic Atmosphere: Type 1 Breathable Oxygen Mix Primary Terrain: Planetwide ocean Points of Interest: Ahto City, Hrakert Station Societal Information Indigenous Species: Selkath Immigrated Species: Aqualish, Gamorrean, Gran, Human, Ithorian, Nikto, Rodian, Twi'lek Primary Language(s): Selkatha, Galactic Basic Faction Affiliation: Neutral Defense Rating: Level 3 JediRP Canon History: Ahto City is Manaan's only surface city, and any offworlders desiring to descend to the depths of Manaan's true settlements by necessity must go through the spaceport to locate a submersible to take them into the oceans. The native Selkath build their cities and settlements on the ocean's floor. The bedrock of Manaan is covered in canyons and rifts that secrete kolto, a healing liquid in many ways equivalent to bacta. Arguably the most prominent of these rifts is the Hrakert Rift, where the largest kolto harvesting station has been erected underwater. For many years, the Eternal Vigilance floated deep in the oceans of Manaan, a gargantuan colony ship that served as a hidden Jedi Temple and place of rest and peace. Vladimir Faust attempted to destroy it several times. Once, he was repulsed by Jedi Masters Nom Anor and Armiena Draygo. Another time, he and Hou-Jo Poleb attacked Manaan and attempted to freeze the water world using a vast nightcloak system of satellites. That failed due to interference from Dagon, Onderin Starlisk, and Armiena Draygo. Later, he tried to use the nightcloak again but was thwarted by Jedi Master Darex Trevelian. The Eternal Vigilance departed the seas of Manaan after many years and events on the planet itself have been quiet since that time. ((Summary compiled by Jaina Jade Skywalker. Thank you!))
  21. Black Sun's Cloud City vs the Imperial Corvette Clout Lord: Situation is pretty cut and dry. Cloud City opened up with its turbolasers on the Imperial corvette during negotiations. Even though they may have been caught by surprise, the corvette did clearly come expecting a fight, as it had explicit orders to evict Black Sun. It probably took a good few hits before getting shields up, but I doubt that's enough to destroy it outright. Killshots are best used in situations where the odds favor the attacker considerably, and this one didn't have enough going for it. I think it's reasonable to say that it sustained moderate damage from the initial barrage. The ship's captain ordered it to pull back but, being in the atmosphere, that will take time that it may not have unless its situation improves due to some outside force. In any case, Khargav has no problem getting off the ship via freefall. <> This preliminary volley out of the way, the fight can begin in earnest.
  22. Onderin Starlisk : Man or Planet? Two attractive human newscasters sat behind a desk, looking marginally embarrassed. The camera zoomed in on the woman, and an image of a Jedi Master in green robes appeared in the corner of the feed. "Welcome to Trans-Nubian News. We have a great broadcast prepared for you tonight, but first the network would like to make a formal apology for a mistake made on last night's show. We referenced the infamous attack perpetrated by the mass murderer and former Emperor known as Vladimir Faust, and reported that Onderon had died in the battle. We soon received reports of our mistake and looked into matters to discover that the planet Onderon in fact still exists along with its four million inhabitants. "We respectfully apologize to the population of Onderon and to anyone with friends and family there, as well as to anyone who knew the war hero and Jedi Master Onderin Starlisk who perished alongside Grand Master Darex Trevelian defending all of us from Faust." She paused for a moment to sell the network's embarrassment, averting her eyes, then looked back at the camera and perked up. "Next up: What's Happening on Carida and Three Tips to Keep a Hutt Out of Your Home."
  23. Sith (AVATAR Kain) vs Imperial Remnant (Raven Zinthos) Interesting duel and fun to read. The first few posts were fairly standard back-and-forth setting up, observing some of the tactical difficulties with any engagement of this kind. Tactics equal, Raven began to win me over with solid writing which made me feel like the Imperial crews were real people facing their deaths, something which continued through post 3. I think this was a very good choice, not only for Raven as a character, but in stark contrast to the ruthless tactics of her opponent. Kain had a monster of a post 2 in which he showed that ruthless disregard for the lives of his own crews while gaining a substantial tactical advantage through the ramming maneuver. He then conceded a lot of damage to the bomber attack very fairly. What's more, he did an excellent job in post 3 posting the departure of the Nova Two as fallout for how he spent the lives of Nova One's crew. Ultimately the victory comes down to the state of the fleets in the last post. Since Nova Two departed, all that remains of the Sith fleet is one very-damaged vessel attempting to drag the Dakshee with it into Carida's gravity well with a single tractor beam. Meanwhile the Dakshee is unshielded but more or less half operational, and half of the Imperial starfighters are also still prowling around. All said and done, I doubt the ability of a single tractor beam to drag a capital ship out of orbit, and the Imperials have the resources to avert this disaster by blasting apart the unprotected tractor beam projectors with turbolasers or fighters. In any case, not much of a ruling to be made. Both Raven and Kain themselves seem in position to survive, although they're in tough spots. I'll rule that the Dakshee survives but Kain's command ship does not, and thus the Imperial Remnant wins the engagement. If the Nova Two had stuck around, it would be a different story. At any rate, Kain's ship is still plummeting towards the surface of Carida, and Raven will need to deal with that.

Points of Interest: Societal Information Indigenous Species: Umbaran, Anzati Immigrated Species: Many Primary Language(s): Basic, High Sith, Anzati Affiliation: Sith Empire, Dark Lord Exodus History: Before the fall of the Sith Order, and the scattering of it’s people. Lord Exodus, one of few left with the mind and the power to harness the breath of a new order, was sought out and presented with a blueprint to secure the longevity of his people. The infighting and strain that the Order faced was no secret, and those that worshipped the Master of the Assassins did everything they could to find a solution. The first solution of merit was presented as a habitation sphere. Umbaran scientists sketched the probabilities and the designs of an artificial planet that could house millions of people as well as the wild berth of all that nature had to offer other planets. The plan never saw fruition before Lord Exodus vanished from the known worlds, but the conception of Project Arachnakorr continued forward. Trustees and worshippers alike fueled the desire to complete the sanctuary, linking third party sources and drawing from a pool of resource only known to an incorruptible few. Arachnakorr would construct and harbor state-of-the-art cloning centers, and commission the production of people, plants and animals all the same. Their true purpose unknown to the diverse but confidential selection of hands involved in the drawn out process. The dwarf worldcraft would colonize into the deepest seeds of the Unknown Regions and remain a machination of unparalleled design and utmost genius; a gift for the Darkest of Lords. The worldcraft had real terrain including a forested surface with several small bodies of water including rivers and swamps, an unknown stretch of desert an artificial aquamarine sky. The Worldcraft retained its atmosphere through the use of a force field while buried grav-field plates maintained the standard gravity. The hidden core of the Worldcraft was an immense reactor that powered the hyper-drive engines and the necessary tractor beam, which was used to hold a miniature sun in place. Due to its miniature size and its rapid rotation on its axis, days on the Worldcraft were much shorter than standard days on most other worlds. ((Summary compiled by Exodus. Thank you!))
