Flicking off the final switches for the Clawcraft, the young Black Sun agent shook his head. Several times he had been called in to Vigos offices only to stand there waiting for an assignment, assignments that never come. But perhaps this time would be different. Stepping from the cockpit, the young warrior made his way into Jacens office and awaited his orders.

"Sir."

Watching the man before him enter his office, Jacen smiled slightly.

"Agent Darkholme. I know that the past few "missions" you have been sent on haven't really been up to par. We now have a special matter that involves the Empire. Kal has decided that we need to figure out where we stand and how we can get in better standing with them. You are really our only free agent, and I know that you want something to do. It isn't really a glorious job, but it will get what we need done done. You will be taking one of Kal's droids that will be stealing information as a back plan in case we don't get what we need. You will be speaking on behalf of Black Sun. Any questions?"

A comm came in from a disclosed location. A man with jet black hair appeared on Mindan and Jacen's desks.

Leaders of Black Sun. I am the head of a powerful shipbuilding company known as Celestial Construction. We build anything and everything to keep our buyers happy and haver a reputation for quality matched by none.

In the recent months we have had a number of security breaches in different areas of operation. I would like to discuss a contract whereby you provide security and protection for our shipyards.

A rather large YT-1300 flew in from space. In it, a Mandalorian. A bounty hunter. A fighter. A survivor.

Terren.

He landed the ship on a platform and exited. Outside, he looked for the man that would meet him for training.

He passed time by checking his weapons: An FC-1 flechette, two vibrodaggers, and his DH-17 blaster.

The Black Sun agent listened intently as Jacen explained the new mission to him. While it was not quite the combat oriented mission that he had been hoping for, it was much better than the recruiting aissgnment he had been on earlier. And to his suprise, the thought of entering a Imperial controlled base brought to mind a violent impulse. At the mention of the Empire, his hand twitched towards his pistols. Shaking the feelings aside, the hunter noddeded and spoke gently.

"If I know the Empire like I think I do, they will want some sort of bargain for their assistance. I would like to know what I am authorized to offer to the Empire, and what kind of promises should I be looking for. I only ask because, verbal negotiations are not my strong suit."

Nodding at the operative, Jacen responded.

"Offer them nothing at this point in time. When you first approach them I just want you to find out where we stand with the Empire, nothing more. Once you have that, report back to us via comm and we will decide what our next move will be."

Nodding once more to the Vigo, Darkholme turned sharply and made his way from then office. Shaking his head, the Black Sun agent placed his helmet about his head and climbed into his Claawcraft. Igniting the engines, he cursed under his breath before firing the thrusters and made his way to Cardia.

Mindan reviewed the comm he had received.

It was an interesting proposal, and the guarantee of consistent work was attractive. He had heard of CelCon, his previous ship had been one of their constructions.

Opening a channel, Mindan replied.

"This is Mindan. We are ably qualified to provide the service you require. If you send a representative to Krayiss II we can discuss this further."

That is satisfactory Mindan. On of our representitives will meet you or one of your representitives there in three standard days. That will give you time to get there I'm sure.

I look forward to doing business with you.

The holo of Corrino showed still this time however he was worried and timid.

"Sir Vigo. Sir Midan. Kal reports talks have stalled as a result of the arrivial of the once dead Piccolo. Kal now request that Jacen shows up. Right now everyone is under the impression as they should be that Kal is the leader of the Black Sun. He also request that the agents in the citadel on Courrsant be put on high alert and prepared if the moment arises. However he belives is shoudl not. Also Please hurry he says."

Recieving Kal's comm, Jacen immediatley stood up. He had left his ship packed and Savior had reported to the Lucky Me. He walked out of his office and headed towards the Hangar Bay. His ship awaited him and was warmed up when he walked up the boarding ramp. He headed towards the exit and space. He jumped towards Coruscant.

Mindan listened to the holo of Corrino with interest.

So, Piccolo has returned. This is an interesting development. Kal appears to be handling things well. Jacen is a good choice to assist.

Mindan commed the command center and asked them to send a red alert message to the Citadel on Coruscant.

That done, Mindan stood and looked out the viewport, pondering the implications of the return of the former leader of The Black Sun to the galaxy. Sheer curiosity about how had come to be alive surfaced in Mindan's mind. All indications were that he was dead, vaporised.

Mindan's thoughts again jumped.

If he has returned, will he want to resume command of the organisation?

It was an intriguing thought. The way thigns were being done had changed majorly since Piccolo's death. That defeat at Haruun Kal had almost totally annihilated The Black Sun. It had forced them to drastically change. They were no longer the feared organisation they once were. He knew this. It was regretable, but these things happen. Mindan had managed to get The Black Sun into a position where it could really begin to expand. The establishment of a legitimate shipbuilding business was designed to give the BLack Sun an alternative income. The establishment of a new secret base, with a sith library was a coup, and could give major benefits to the Sun.

Mindan looked forward to speaking to Piccolo himself. To establish what was going on.

A COM arrived that was to be given to Jacen and Piccolo upon arivial.

START COM

-------------

Piccolo sir. I am sorry to have treated you with such disrespect. However I needed to show authority and you showing up when I believed you were dead showed I didn't know all that I should secondly. I am of course not the leader of the Sun. Midan however will clear of this up as I was not able to at that point in time. Moving on to Jacen. Jacen I did not tell you to escort Piccolo back to base personally. I needed you with me at the Last Call. Piccolo more than knew the way and an escort would have simply showed face. I will deal with you when we next meet. I will not apologize to you Jacen, however I will say thank you arriving in such short time. Also Piccolo rather you accept or not I am the public face of the Black Sun at least which means I do have power and I will do what I must to make the Black Sun grow. Till we meet again gentlemen.

The Lucky Me came out of hyperspace. Jacen landed in Hangar 2b and sent Mindan a comm telling him Piccolo had arrived. Before taking off again, Jacen spoke to Piccolo.

"It was an honor seeing you alive my friend. I hope that I will get to work closely with you in the future, even if it is not with Black Sun. Keep in touch."

With that Jacen took off again and headed back to the Last Call.

Mindan received the com from Jacen informing him that Piccolo had arrived. Smiling acknowledged this, and made his way down to the hangar to personally welcome Piccolo to the base.

I will look forward to hearing what he has to say and why he has returned, and how he survived, or, more likely, resurrected himself.

"The Commander on Coruscant asked me to test you. He says you came across as a heavy. I cn see in you that there is more. Tell me abuot your past, your job history. Give me details about how you hunt."

With that, the Commander spun the pike through his hands and jabbed Terren with it on his right shoulder before taking a defensive step back.

"Now I will turn it on."

Piccolo exited the ship. He recieved Kal's communication immediately upon his arrival. The hunter had expected the real situation to be something like that. Kal had not been unwise to defuse his presence there by showing fortitude. Piccolo had probably thrown a rather large monkey wrench in their plans. But seeing Zara squirm had been worth it.

So Mindan is the real leader.

Mindan had a calculating and intelligent nature about him as a member of the Black Sun. Piccolo was not surprised he had siezed power.

No doubt he suspects I have returned to take power back. I would suspect as much in his place. That is wrong of course.

Piccolo had many plans. Unless Mindan was desperate to reliquish control, leading the Black Sun was not one of them. The organization seemed in good shape, and Piccolo was satisfied at its current direction. He needed Mindan to hear that personally though, to assuage the man's concerns. He didn't have to wait long as Mindan personally entered the hangar.

"The heir to my command presents himself at last."

It was a tense moment. But at last, Piccolo extended his hand.

"Congratulations. I would have selected no one else, had I been present."

Piccolo's first words seemed designed to ease tension and fear. Mindan however remembered how cunning his former mentor had been while alive, but decided to honour his words and greet him properly.

Extending his hand, Mindan actually smiled.

"I am glad to hear that as I would have allowed no-one else to take the position."

The initial greeting over, Mindan turned and gestured for Piccolo to follow him, and headed back through the base towards his own office.

"Seeing you alive again is interesting Piccolo. All sensor data from Haruun Kal indicated you were dead, more to the point, vaporised. Where did you go? We suffered a huge defeat at Haruun Kal. We were betrayed by one we thought we could trust, and were all but annihilated. All the Force harvesters, our entire fleet and most of our men, killed. It was a low point for the organisation. Once we had regathered here on DUbrillion, I assumed control. I wanted to change the way things were done, approach thigns slightly differently. As head of the organisation, everyone knew who you were, and you were often targeted for it. I saw that as leader, I needed to be free to move around the galaxy to oversee our operations and keep things flowing, without needing to worry about being targeted. So Kal, my 2IC became the public face of The Black Sun. It is he who will be targeted by those who wish harm to us, and this gives me an opportunity to find out who they are and kill them first. Kal is currently negotiating a truce with The Link, a business deal. Our grudge with them was always personal for you and and the Nargals. I saw no reason to allow that to get in the way of a business deal that down the track would allow us to gain more power. We are not the strongarm of the galaxy anymore. Haruun Kal destroyed that. But we are rebuilding and this is an opportunity to give us breathing space to grow and solidify our strength."

Mindan's throat was beginning to get tetchy from so much talking as they reached his office. but he ignored it and motioned to Piccolo to join him at the viewing station, and showed him how thigns had changed with images and video clips from their various bases showing the changes that had occurred, and clips from the planet Krayiss II where the new headquarters would be located.

"As you can see, the base here, the Citadel on Coruscant, and the base on Artus have all been reconstructed. The Citadel was destroyed, as I assume you remember, and I took the opportunity to raze it right back to the foundations and build it back up, completely secure and self-reliant. It is smaller than it was previously, however it is also much easier to defend and much stronger. I view it primarily as an outpost, an office, a recruitment center to catch all the strays and runaways on Coruscant and sort out the crap from the quality. The base here has been reconstructed also. Much larger now and more heavily defended, this base also allows for expansion in the future of the organisation as we continue to grow. We also have secure underground research facilities here."

Flicking another switch, Mindan changed the viewer to Artus.

"Artus, being the site of our Cortoisis mining operation, was much more sensitive, especially with the presence of the Empire. Thigns were a little tense for a few days, however upon contact, we were able to secure the same terms of operation there which you had secured, thus enabling us to continue our operation without to much interruption or loss of profit."

Mindan smiled as he flicked another switch, and the images changed to Krayiss II, his pride and joy.

"After our almost complete annihilation, I decided that we were too public. Everyone knew where the Black Sun bases were and this left us open to attack from anyone with a grudge and a large enough fleet. The Citadel, the base here on Dubrillion, and the base on Artus, I view as the public face of The Black Sun, much as Kal is. However behind the public face is the truth. Krayiss II is a relatively unknown planet. Off the main trade routes, no native population, a large variety of terrain, and a Sith Library. This planet is where we will be establishing our main base of operations. Where high level training will be given, where our main research and development laboratories will be. We are also currently in negotiation with CelCon, a ship building company, to provide security for their shipyards, which they have been having security problems with, and which they will be moving, though they may not be aware of it yet, to the second moon. This will give us access to our own shipyards, and in time, will give us access to the profits that go with shipyards."

Mindan turned the viewer off and sat down, gesturing to Piccolo to sit should he desire.

"We have begun the process of re-building, and have recovered some of our former strength. In time, we will again be feared by all. However, that is enough about the organisation. What are your plans? Where do yo go from here?"

Piccolo's inner reaction was mixed. As Mindan gave his update, there were points where Piccolo was impressed and points where he was disappointed. But he was not leader now. Mindan was. Mindan had to have his own style, or it wouldn't work. He could see the man certainly did. Piccolo wouldn't always agree with that style, but that was irrelevant. Overall, Piccolo believed the Black Sun was going in a positive direction. It was Mindan's questions that left him truly out of his element. He had avoided thinking about the subjects Mindan brought up.

"My existence is as puzzling to you as it is to me. I believe it is a combination of factors. I am a non-Force user that has had extensive interaction with the Force, probably more than anyone who is not born with that power. Midnight Rose, a Dark Jedi, imprisoned my soul. Ara-lai Kaipi retrieved it. Both used Force powers few have ever seen. And then my former body was built, giving me the power to take the Force out of those with the gift, and use it, in spite of not having an in-born ability. I think that the Force energy I had collected preserved my soul, and kept it from crossing into the next world. That's really as much as I understand of it, so far."

The hunter didn't elaborate on how exactly he came to inhabit a new body. He didn't really know anything beyond what he had told Mindan. He had little memory from the time just before his death, until the time he found himself sitting in the Last Call. It was distressing.

There was a time when I would have laughed off such things as superstition. A lot about has certainly changed.

Piccolo quickly changed the subject.

"I admire what you've gathered here. It is a good course of action. I think the Black Sun went as far as it could under the Smash-style of leadership which I copied to a certain extent. We are in a new age. Government factions dominate now. The Hutts are gone. SEED is gone. We are really the only faction of our type that still survives. Groups like the Link aren't really comparable. The Black Sun has to adapt, and I believe you are the man to change it."

Piccolo meant every word. Mindan needed to know Piccolo was behind him all the way. Especially if Piccolo was to have Mindan behind him.

"I don't have a plan. Instead I have a list. It is a list of people who must be destroyed. This is not simple vengeance. It is something much more."

Piccolo avoided the word destiny. No doubt that would bring back memories of his previous madness. This wasn't like that at all. He had a larger goal in mind, a very ambitious goal. But it was an unlikely scenario that he felt it too early to share.

"I have no desire to lead or change the course of the Black Sun. But I do feel the organization owes me something, and I owe it something. I will help you when you ask. If the Black Sun gets into trouble, I will be there. If you need advice or need information, I will share it. If you feel there is something the operatives can't do, all you need to do is ask me. In exchange, I ask for use of your facilities. Not the new secret facility, just Dubrillion and perhaps the Citadel. I'm not talking as any sort of war center, but really just as a place to stay or heal if I need to. Now, I may do things that aren't always in line with Black Sun desires. You don't need to worry about that. If that should happen, it will be well away from here, with no association to the organization."

He left it at that, waiting for Mindan's reaction. Piccolo would be angry if Mindan refused. But it was his right. He was leader now. Perhaps he thought Piccolo useless or too dangerous to have around. Piccolo would respect that.

Mindan listened to Piccolo speak, and saw none of the signs of madness, or insanity, of being mentally or emotionally unstable, as he appeared to be in the final days before Haruun Kal.

Hesitantly, not being sure of Piccolos stance on the Jedi, Mindan made a suggestion.

"Perhaps, with yourself being a non-force user, yet having had such extensive interactions with the force, your destruction and subsequent, well, re-appearance, it may be worth speaking to the Jedi about. Find out if they can answer the riddle surrounding your current existence, given you past."

Mindan wasn't sure how Piccolo would react to that. He himself had not had many dealings with the Jedi, and none with the Sith and was fairly non-committal either way about them.

Mindan felt, though he did not allow it to show visibly, a certain amount of pride as Piccolo gave his commendation on what he had achieved. However his eyes narrowed behind his glasses as Piccolo spoke of a list of people he wanted destroyed.

He speaks of how this is now a government run world, and how we are the only faction of our type, and then he speaks of how he wants us to descend into the madness and uncertainty of wet-work again.

"Piccolo, you, as Smash and Milo, are always going to be welcome to use Black Sun facilities. You were the leader for a long time, and took us to great places, and for myself personally, you gave me much inspiration. Your 'list' which you speak of I will look over. I will not say yes we will complete it. My own plans for the organisation may not allow for this. However, there will quite possibly be some we can do for you."

Mindan paused before continuing watching the former leader before he continued for any sign of madness or anger that would erupt out of the volatile part Trandoshan.

"You are right when you say we are the only faction of our kind left, and one of my aims is to seize control of the underworld. However it appears that line of work is dying out. Peace, to a degree, seems to be coming about, and if we are to survive, as you say, we need to adjust. Legitimate business must be obtained, the shipbuilding will be one of them. My objective is to grow the Black Sun to a point where we can contend with anyone, and go to the negotiating table with power and knowledge and be able to come out on top. We have to adjust to this governmentally oriented galaxy. The only way we can gain power in it is as a legitimate business empire. That is why I have put Kal as the face of Black Sun. So I can stay in the shadows. That is why CelCon is going to be ours, but separate. So it cannot, as an honest business, be tied to us, in the underworld. I may call upon you for advice on occasion, and our facilities are open to you. I will not kill everyone on your list though."

Mindan waited. He knew that Piccolo could react any way. That there was no knowing how much of his former volatility had returned to this body.

Much of Piccolo's volatility remained. But there was no cause for the hunter to be angry. Piccolo could understand Mindan's reaction. The man had misunderstood Piccolo's words. Or more likely, Piccolo had been unclear.

"I do not want you or any Black Sun member involved in this. The list is for me to worry about alone. If you guys were to get involved it could conceivably ruin your plans."

Piccolo honestly had high hopes the Black Sun would succeed in his absence. He would not burden them with his own goals again.

"No, the only thing I require is a place to stay and pursue my plans. In return, I am at your disposal should you need my expertise. After all, though I was leader of the Black Sun, I was a bounty hunter first."

Mindan felt some of his concern melt away at Piccolos reply. He did not particularly want to get involved in wet work when he was trying to move the organisation into a new line for a new galactic environment and political climate.

"Piccolo, you are always welcome here. The facilities we have available I will ensure are available to you, and also on Artus and the Citadel on Coruscant."

Mindan stood, extending his forearm towards the Trandoshan, silently, and respectfully, acknowledging that he was unable to shake hands as humans did.

Piccolo appreciated the effort, but he grabbed Mindan's actually hand instead. Piccolo was half human after all. He did not have the full dexterity of a human, but he was able to grip enough to shake hands. He had always had a tendency to play down his Doshan blood whenever possible.

"I look forward to helping you anyway I can. If you'll excuse me, I have some things I need to look into."

Piccolo had already verified that his belongings had not been destroyed. They remained on Dubrillion. Piccolo needed to get prepared. He would be departing soon.

Piccolo moved through the base. There was a sense of awkwardness . . . and even sadness that he was not the leader of this planet or the Black Sun anymore. But there was also a feeling of freedom. He pushed these uncomfortable emotions away as best he could, deciding to concentrate on his surroundings. The base had only been partially completed before the Big Battle, as he'd come to call it. It had previously only possessed the bare bones necessary to operate the organization. Walking through the base, he realized it was now a full facility with all the modern comforts. Piccolo had indeed been gone awhile.

But it appears my things have not been disturbed.

Piccolo had opened the door to his old quarters. It only took a cursory glance to realize no one had apparently had time to remove his things. His eyes immediately fell on his most prized possession. In the middle of the room, a singular light illuminated his Black Sun Eclipse Armor. Piccolo had died in his new body built by CORE. His old armor had been left behind. Now that Piccolo's madness was gone, he was ready to return to his former self. It felt like reconnecting with an old friend.

This time, no cybernetics either. Smash's and then my own additions to my body and brain drove me insane. The Force, for whatever reason, has seen fit to return my soul to this Earth. Or more likely, an accident of the Force has resurrected me. This time I intend to see things with my own eyes.

Piccolo finished fitting his armor to his body. With a loud whoosh, he returned his helmet to his head. He gazed out through the visor's readout.

Well, more or less.

Piccolo didn't hesitate. He walked with a singular purpose toward the hangar. He had released his three vornskyr from their pens on the way and the animals trailed behind them. The hunter had them caged for so long now he had almost forgotten he'd captured them. The animals were obedient to his commands still and would come in handy for what lay ahead.

Before he departed Coruscant, Piccolo had called the Howling Runner to Dubrillion. Piccolo entered the hangar bay to find his ship waiting. Droids had given it a tuneup and a nice new shine.

Only one more thing left.[/

Piccolo took it upon himself to raid the armory. There were a few items he had stored in there from previous attacks. They had never been used, and Piccolo didn't expect them to be. That combined with the Black Sun's wealth, and Mindan's indication he was welcome to use Black Sun resources, alleviated what little guilt he was capable of feeling. The hunter took a disassembled Genoshan Sonic Cannon, and two Destroyer Droids, remnants of an old attack on the Jedi Temple. He returned to his ship. Piccolo took one last look at Dubrillion. It was the first time he had ever departed from the planet without being leader of this organization. For most of his life he had lived as a slave. But for the past several years in fairy-tale like manner he had risen to the level of Atlas, with the Black Sun on his shoulders. And now he was mortal again. It was an odd situation. Piccolo only permitted this nostalgia for a brief moment. Then it was back to business.

Let the hunt begin.

Piccolo was soon in space.

Despite the sudden comings and going inside of the base, Slicer was far too busy, polishing his ship to a nice shine, before checking, rechecking, and then taking apart and cleaning his weapons. After this basic check up and work was done, this of course took a while, since the man carried a lot of weapons, both on his ship and on his person.

Then after looking up and down the holonet and finding nothing really worth noting except of course what seemed to be a promotion in the empire, he looked up his mission and sighed. Well at least he would be getting of world. He did a quick run down over his ship, checking his weapon systems and the work, mainly looking for anything abnormal to his ship.

Finding nothing he boarded it and moments later, reached out into the infinite darkness that was only perceived as space by his five bodily senses.

Canderous exited hyperspace with his RSS Corvette Marauder and landed with a soft thud in the Operative's hanger of the island base. It seems his piloting skills were growing stronger as he flew back and forth across the galaxy for the Black Sun. Exiting his ship, Canderous made his way to the speeder which took him to the elevator shaft that led to the Main Base of Operations.

Upon taking the elevator up, he exited it and made his way to Mindan's office, noticing most of the operative's were somewhere offworld. He still couldn't imagine what Mindan had in store for him, but either way, he was willing and able for it. Turning the corner, he neared Mindan's office and knocked before entering. When his Miraluka gaze met Mindan's, he removed his helmet once more and spoke up. "You wished to see me, Sir?"

Mindan looked up, as if anticipating disappointment at such a minor assignment.

"I do have another mission for you after you have dealt with this. This just happened to crop up as you returned."

COMM TO BLACK SUN

----------------------------------------

"I am unaware if you Agent Darkholme has returned to you as of yet but if he has no I must inform you that you are not on an Imperial list of targets at present moment. However, there is a way for you to come and return in our good graces, and in return we offer a service to you. The Hutt Criminal Empire has been a thorn in the side of the Empire as of late and we are now preparing to engage them. My offer is you help us extinguish the Hutts from this place in the galaxy, and we shall place your organization as one we can possibly call Allies.

Enclosed in this message is our location."

"I've got it covered" , Canderous said as he grabbed the file on this Terran Jethrow recruit on his way out. As he walked to the sparring room, he quickly stopped into the cafeteria to grab a Dantooine Apple, and ate it on the way as he overlooked the recruit's file. "Interesting", he said to himself as he turned into the sparring room, tossing the apple's core into a nearby trash bin.

When his white lidless eye's met that of the young man's, he grinned. The young man seemed to prefer weapons over hand to hand, but it mattered none to Canderous. "So, weapons shall we, or would you rather hand to hand. It is your choice after all.", Canderous said taking out his Vibro-axe.

Mindan sat in his office, reviewing intelligence reports from various sources he had placed around the galaxy. If there was one thing which Mindan prided himself on personally, it was the contacts and sources he had cultivated over the years. They had saved his life many times, and he had honed a fine instinct as to which reports where the critical ones.

Putting one down that informed him about some minor squabbling between the Hutts, Mindan picked up another, from his oldest and most reliable source. It didn't say much. This particular source never said anymore than was necessary to convey the information succinctly.

Dubrillion. Beware.

This source had never, in eleven years, overstated anything. That the message was so simple told Mindan all he needed to know. They were about to be attacked.

Mindan sent out encrypted comm signals to his top operatives, recalling them to the base. He also sent out one to Piccolo. This would be his first battle command and he wanted the benefit of Piccolo's experience available to him.

OOC: Mandalore, please consider yourself to have received a comm message to this effect. And Check your PMs please.)
