  1. Old Equipment pre 7th December 2011 Heavy Blaster(1): Model 404, unmodified Vibroknife (2): 14 inches long, double bladed, cortosis lined, s-guard before hilt. Reinforced pommel (bludgeoning), strongly resembles an anelace (description: http://medievalwarfare.info/weapons.htm), usually stored crossed on his back, pommels down. Whip: 3 strand, force imbued: more for training in various elemental schools than actual combat, it is not resistant to lightsaber attaches but its strands can ”˜regrow' after time. The stronger the user is in the force, the more animated the weapon becomes. Clothing: All clothing can seal or breathe to allow for environmental conditions. Will not enable a user to wade in Lava or survive a Hoth blizzard. All is in standard Sith black, resistant to light blasters and slug throwers, and seals itself in case of a biological/chemical attack Body Glove: similar to that worn by storm troopers, this body glove includes a sensor package designed to interface directly with Uriel's cyborg components. Reports on environmental conditions that could impact Uriel, as well as monitors the status of his body, except his head. Hood/Mask: Designed to be drawn over his head during combat, this item seals to his jacket to provide protection from ion weapons and serve as a gas mask. Contains an advanced sensor system, display, and enough armor to resist light blasters and light slug throwers. Attaches to body sleeve and to jacket. Jacket: covers him to mid-thigh, like the hood can resist light blasters and light slug throwers. Seals in the case of biological/chemical attack. Contains a signal boosting mesh for data transmission/reception. Pants: Light blaster and slug thrower resistant. Seals in the case of biological/chemical attack. Belt: Standard utility belt, contains some extra space for various components. Boots. Both have storage compartments easily configured depending on mission. Standard payload is a stun gun and a spare power pack for either the vibroknives or a blaster. Reinforced soles, Seals in the case of biological/chemical attack. Cape: ankle length. Heavy. Contains several pockets for various components. Gloves: contain stun cells that allow him to stun an opponent upon striking. Can seal against biological/chemical attacks Cyborg Components: Strengthed interal skeleton, increases in musculature, balance, coordination and speed. Can interface with his specialized clothing, can interface with specially designed ships, allows for direct interfacing with computers. Provides communications ability equivalent to a protocol droid plus memory processor equivalent of an astromech. Cannot function as an astromech for jumping to lightspeed. Can effect changes in all biological systems from the minute to the major, such as limb and organ regeneration to changing cell DNA over time. Neither process would be instantaneous.
  2. In a short two hours time, Dashel Illioni found himself examining the possibility of taking a Padawan and training that Padawan in the ways of the Force. Some Padawans stood out immediately to the Jedi whom took them as Padawans; others took longer to find a Master due to any number of reasons, from incompatibility of personality to a Jedi just not being available. For the Initiate-Cub known as Kharjo, that reason came down to the Padawan simply lacking the proper detachment from his former life to be a Jedi. For that reason, the Initiate's future path had included a short trip to Tython, to tend a garden there or conduct archaeological research always under the careful eyes of a full Jedi until a young Padawan invoked the fateful name of Anakin Skywalker in the hearing of three Masters and stopped their argument of Kharjo's fate in its tracks. Her simple argument caused them to review their positions and give the young Initiate another chance to continue to become a Jedi. Kharjo now needed to impress the Master known as Dashel Illlioni, a Triani Jedi Master determined to prevent another Anakin Skywalker and help the young Initiate become a proper Jedi and achieve the detachment necessary to a servant of the Force. Dashel smiled at Master Vao, ”œI wonder what's more ferocious, the snarl of a hunting Krayt dragon, or the rumbling of an Initiate's empty stomach?”
  3. Uriel glimpsed the massive form of Kirlocca standing before the Jedi Praxeum and immediately surged forward on the rented speeder bike. Nearly simultaneously, he felt a surge in the Darkside whose familiarity raised the hairs on the back of his next. Only one individual, his former fellow student, his master Sheog orbited about the planet. Uriel also knew what it meant when his master's force signature surged like that. Uriel skidded his hoverbike 180 degrees away from the Praxeum and slammed the bike to maximum acceleration to get away from the blast that he knew that surge meant was coming. It was the third betrayal and he knew he needed to do something about it, but for now survival became paramount. After all, when Master Sheog arranged for something to explode, he tended to towards overkill. The overlapping fields of fire Sheog often employed often brought out the quotes from civilian commentators of "Overkill, much?" In the eyes of Uriel, other Sith, or professional military planners, the planning involved in Sheog's assaults simply meant he accomplished his objective, if a bit expensive were ammunition was concerned. As he flew away from the incipient blast, he readied himself to receive a kick from some sort of shock wave. He knew it was coming so he readied for the inevitable destruction of his bike by mentally preparing himself to cushion his fall from the bike through the force. By the time it did hit, he was fully readied to cushion his fall. When the hit came, it was far more powerful than he expected. The bike disintegrated around him, flinging him through the air at a rate of acceleration even higher than the maximum of the bike he rode. He immediately called on the force to cushion his fall, not by arresting it completely, but by degrees, albeit it at degrees at the maximum tolerance of his body. <>
  4. Once Kharjo left the gardens, Dashel followed, albeit at a slower pace. He maintained a low level contact in the force with the Hopeful, enough to sense his general emotional state and any force abilities he might employ. Doing so amid the crowded temple required a great deal of effort for the first few moments, but once Dashel learned to recognize Kharjo's force sense fairly intimately, the task became easier even when Dashel became sidetracked by other tasks which demanded his attention. He stopped at an information terminal just inside the entrance to the temple's garden and proceeded to conduct a search for several of the Jedi listed in Kharjo's file as having had fairly close contact with the hopeful on a consistent basis since the cub entered the temple. Of the fairly short list he had in hand, three still resided in various capacities at the temple. As he attempted to contact those still in residence his ears were in constant motion, tracking the sounds of the rapidly awakening temple. Those ears, as well as his sense of smell soon zeroed in on the sounds of the temple's kitchen as the various people serving there ramped that facility's activity up to meet the demands of the morning meal. Dashel took a moment to collect his thoughts and deal with the distractions before actually connecting with the first of the three still in residence at the temple. When he connected with Inoure Vao, he came face to face with an attractive Twi-lek female still wearing very modest sleepwear and seemingly only half awake. ”œGood Morning, Jedi Vao. I am Master Dashel Illioni and I would like to speak to you about the hopeful known as Kharjo.”
  5. Dashel focused his entire being on what the young hopeful was saying, listening intently to the young cub's questions and his description of the dream which drove him to the garden the two now solely occupied save for a few insects, small animals, and the garden plants. He let the silence linger for a few moments after the hopeful had finished speaking, contemplating a single small night flyer flying among the garden's trees. He smiled and reached out with the force, sending out a feeling of peace and safety to the small creature and then began typing on the keyboard that was part of his bracer, careful to keep the screen at an angle the hopeful could not read. He sent a message to Kala, asking her to conduct a deep background on the hopeful. While he waited for the files to arrive, he began addressing the question that Kharjo asked. ”œFirst,”
  6. Deleted and sent to its proper thread.
  7. Dashel took a long moment appraising the young hopeful before him knowing that the young Cathar also appraised him as well. To give the young man a reference point, Dashel lowered his guard and let the Force flow through him normally, something he associated with a feeling of peace and contentment. What he saw before him and sensed through the Force looked promising and the way the young man reacted to his silent entrance show that though he retained his heritage he tempered the reactions provided by that heritage with greater knowledge and his Jedi training. ”œBefore coming to the Jedi, I was a soldier with the Triani Rangers. Late nights and early mornings came with the job and I find myself often compelled to by those experiences to awake before dawn or restless at night. The peace in Jedi gardens contrasts so differently with what I knew that I find myself visiting often just to let it flow through me as much as the Force does.”
  8. After years of maintaining the discipline of Small at every waking moment of his life, Dashel found himself doing so subconsciously, even when walking around temples on world's like Harumn Kal. The extra stealth satisfied something primeval within him, probably a left over from some distant ancestor as they hunted for food on his homeworld. This night Dashel found himself practicing yet again how to be invisible to force users. He was perched high in a tree as was his preference, within a garden of Harumn Kal's temple, watching anyone and everything that passed, from mouse droids to Jedi going about their various tasks. He had come here straight from Gala, mostly on a whim to see someplace he had never seen before. Kala had simply shook her head when he had announced his decision, then tried once again to assassinate him. The HRD's constant attacks served to keep Dashel on his toes. One young Cathar caught his attention, not because of the remarkable knot of confusion formed among the force as walked pass. Padawan's always seemed to be a knot in the force, something causing them confusion that needed the guidance of a Knight or Master could provide. The incidents were usually small things that an older perspective could unravel quickly, but it was always best to let the Padawan figure it out for themselves. What caught his attention with the Padawan was that he was the first feline Hopeful seen by Dashel in a long time. He grinned, looking forward to someone who might understand the instincts possessed by most species like the Triani. Silently he dropped from the tree, using the Force to float gently to the ground behind Kharjo Shavir. He landed softly and focused his attention on the young Cathar before him. Cathar, Triani, and Catuman always knew that they were different from each other, even if they did not know why. The differences never spilled out into open conflicts, the three species just knew. Most preferred their own kind, but exceptions occurred. Some of those exceptions produced children with some very interesting results in the offspring, including one massive warrior Dashel had worked with back on Trian that had resulted from a Cathar male and Triani female. That warrior topped better than 3.5 meters and wrestled and won against Wookies. He decided that being alone with his thoughts tended to produce some odd moments, so he simply spoke at nearly a whisper to break the silence. ”œTrouble sleeping?”
  9. Dashel left the Praxeum's leader feeling that he had done something that would impact the galaxy. As he walked to the landing platform, he reflected on the nature of service to the force, that doing so meant often mean doing things without knowing why they needed done. Once onboard his ship, he began the preflight checklist while speaking with Kala. ”œIt seems as if the praxeum is fairly secure. Since we are not needed here, let us return to Tython until the Force or the Council sees fit to deliver us some work.”
  10. Dashel looked over at Dahar as the walked, considering all that he had said. As Jedi Masters went, the man was direct and to the point. He appreciated that, the tendency of some masters to adopt vague and philosophical personalities seemed a way for them to avoid responsibility for their answer. Or was it a way to make sure the questioner took the responsibility on themselves? He smiled as the though went through his mind, then focused on the several important matters that Dahar had been speaking of. "Only time and the Force will tell us if his intentions are true. Perhaps someone can be assigned to teach him, to get to know him, as we would any other apprentice and judge him by the merits of what he earns during training" Dashel paused as 2 thoughts occurred to him. He examined them and once he was satisfied with them, spoke. "Master Dahar, I would be glad to take him as an apprentice (OOC, my current one seems to have gone MIA). I would be willing to train him, to get to know him, and when the time comes bring him here to speak before the council." "If that is not acceptable, then perhaps you should take him as an apprentice, a chance for both of you to learn from each other. He to be redeemed, you to find healing from your encounters with the Darkside." He paused again as he examined his thoughts and feelings about Master Aryian. He felt confusion there, having sensed the Darkside in the man whom had raised him to master, but for him to have fallen to the Darkside chilled him. He sought calm in the Force before replying. "Master Aryian always was closer to the Darkside then many Jedi, having decided to seek what he called a balance in the Force, neither Dark nor Light, Sith or Jedi. I can see him using the Darkside, but how does one Re-Incarnate as a Darkside Master? Hopefully, he can provide some insight when he has been returned to us."
  11. Dashel smiled at Vas, "If my hearing does not deceive me, then the good Jedi Knight over there will be watching your every action until the Jedi council decides what they will do with you." He winked exaggeratedly at Tobias, explaining, "Triani are a feline based species, we have hearing to match." "Know now facing the Jedi Council will be arduous, your entire being will be examined. My suggestion is to be completely open, to be honest with them and yourself about everything and anything." He continued speaking to Tobias, "I formally greet you and apologize to you on the behalf of the Jedi Order. If you need anything, you should speak with the leader of this Praxeum, MasterDahar Raikanda who is standing over there or whomever he assigns to answer your questions and needs." "The Knight he just assigned to keeping tabs on you is unknown to me, but I am sure she will fairly represent the Order in her every action." He bowed to Tobias and said, "Now if you will excuse me, I do need to speak with Master Raikanda. It was rude of me not to consult with him before speaking to you, but I did want you to be properly greeted before we continued." "Once again, Welcome," said Dashel, bowing to Tobias Vas before turning around and walking over to Master Raikanda. Dashel went over to Master Raikanda, waited for him to finish with Xae Lin before quietly saying, "I apologize for not greeting you first, but I thought it important to greet the Praxeum's guest properly." "It seems that there is much I do not know about the situation, perhaps you would be willing to fill me in and let me know if I may help?"
  12. Dashel watched his padawan begin preperations for their trip. He paused as something washed through him, a calling in the force that made thwle thin feline fur on the back of his neck stand straight up. The disturbance concerned a Jedi and another being, one whose presence in the force felt muddied, obscured in such a way that it felt manipulated. Someone's force signature that felt that muddled indicated some basic knowledge of the force and therefore someone to be greeted openly until their intentions became known. Dashel made a quick decision. "Hopeful Fejj, gather what you need and then join me on my ship, the Glass Tiger. We will be departing as soon as I figure out what's going on above us." The force calmed almost as fast it had been disturbed, so Dashel slowed his walk to the surface to a mere walk. He might have moved faster, but he sensed that a balance of sorts had been achieved at the Praxeum. When he arrived at the garden he saw Dahar, Xae-Lin, Tobias, and Kyrie just separating. He could not hear what was being said, but he got the impression that something had happened and that it had been extremely personal to all of them. Still, his understanding of the Force drew him onward into the garden. He approached the team of Sentinel Jedi guarding Tobias Vas. At a single look from Dashel, they parted their cordon to let him through. He bowed his head to Tobias Vas, that of a Master to a Hopeful. ”œGreetings. I am Master Illioni, how may I help you?”
  13. Dashel replied to Fejj, as firmly and as kindly as he could to both teach and help allay the man's fears. ”œThere will be lessons that you fail, but not because you cannot accomplish the lesson but because you fail to learn from that failure. Worse, if you fear failure, that fear will come to rule your emotions and with it will come the Darkside. ”
  14. As Fejj spoke, Dashel listened to what the Force told him of the young man's true intentions. Nothing in the man's spirit, nothing in the Force indicated he was anything other than what he seemed, a man searching for a greater purpose than his own needs, fortunate enough to be gifted with the Force. He was also pleased the man accepted the will of the council, something some Masters let alone apprentices found difficult to do. Dashel motioned for the young man to have a seat on the meditation rug opposite him. While he waited for the young man to situate his robes, he said, ”œJedi, first and foremost, serve the Force. In that service, we often find ourselves serving the greater good, working for peace and justice.”
  15. Dashel looked up to where Fejj waited. He waved to the man to enter the room he was in and have a seat. "Why are you here?" asked Dashel in an accusatory voice that positively growled its hostility to the man he saw in the doorway. It was a voice that promised instant death should the answer be wrong but it was not accompanied by the minute tensing of every muscle in his body that presaged a sudden move. He was testing Fejj, seeing if the Hopeful would see past the deception to the truth even before he began formal instruction. Eyes and ears could be deceived and a sharp mind was always a Jedi's best weapon. Dashel waited for both the reaction and the answer, knowing that from this moment on, he shaped the future of the Jedi.l
  16. Dashel diverted back to Gala after having received a message from the knight that had been sent to mentor the young man he had found staring at the temple on Tython. It seemed the young knight had been needed elsewhere, and the council had reassigned Fejj to Dashel. Once his ship was secured, Dashel headed to the Praxeum to find a quiet room to meditate, there he waited until the arrival of his apprentice.
  17. Dashel stood outside the Grasstiger, watching supplies being loaded into the modified scout craft which to his mind seemed more a warship in features than a Jedi's ship. He shrugged the thought away, deciding to concentrate on the here and now. The young man whom had come to Tython seeking training had been assigned to a younger Jedi, one considered a better match i n terms of personality and need. The council had decided that issue and he had let it go. Since there had been no official assignment awaiting him, Dashel had decided to leave Tython. A galaxy awaited him and it was time to bring the Jedi back into it. The holds, passages, and every nook and cranny held more supplies than could fit. He planned to be away from home for quite a long time and thought it wise to plan for that contingency. When all the food, parts, ammunition and other sundry items were loaded and secured, Dashel and company left the surface of Tython bound for one the main Temples that served as a hyperspace transfer point to the rest of the galaxy.
  18. Waiting for an apprentice to respond, just some NPC updates: While Dashel and the new hopeful danced around their evolving relationship, Kala was spending a great deal of time helping to restore and modify an old Imperial T-4 class shuttle. The space craft had been found drifting near an old Imperial depot and had been towed to Tython by a fellow Jedi whom had handed it over to Dashel's partner in the shipyard. Immediately, the ship had been stripped to its frame which had been subjected to a very thorough scan for any flaws. The hull plates also recieved a similiar treatment and any component found to be outside of the original Impeial tolerances had been replaced. Every other system had been replaced with new and very specific equipment the client had requested. The project neared the halfway point far ahead of schedule and both Kala and Dashel`s partner had begun anticipating the huge bonus the contract stipulated for an early completion. Neither knew it, but they would end up getting the shuttle to its next destination far earlier than either of them at that moment suspected. Dashel's two astromech's charged with keeping the Glasstiger operational spent the time completing various maintenance tasks aboard the ship. Both droids appreciated the extended planetary stay the ship was currently having and were making the most of the stay for their ship and selves. The combat modified astromechs spent a great deal of time on the practice range, firing extensive amounts of rounds to check that their active and passive targeting sytstems stayed accurate and that the vibration dampening quipment functioned appropriately. A pair of them did not and immediately trundled to the first droid repair bay available. Elizabeth spent the time both working at the ruins under the observation of a jedi and more advanced scholastic pursuits. The environment and extensive counseling had begun to mold her into a productive member of society, albeit one with drives and skills from the streets coupled with the possibilities of an advanced education. More than one classmate remarked if the Sth found their way to Tython, she was their best hope. When she found extra time, Elizabeth found herself spending more time in Burksed's shop enjoying the man's fatherly affection for her and his wifes mothering. All parties had limits of course and fights ensued, but rhythms and bonds took time to build. With them would come trust, eventually, but that bond was the slowest to be acquired. While working around Burksed's shop, Kala and Elizabeth became fast friends. The droid and the girl quickly formed into one of a mentor apprentice. The jedi hunter helped further her education, particularly in physical skills such as self defense. They initially started with blasters and slowly progressed to more physical skills. During the T4 project, the two discussed Dashel between them. Both ladies cared for the welfare of the Trianii Jedi and both needed someone to discuss him with. The time they spent together on the project allowed them to exchange ideas about how to best care for his future when the life of a jedi often took them into harms way despite the order's creed of not seeking out adventures of any sort. Kala found the girl's concern to be remarkable considering where Dashel had found her and her rough start in life. She used Elizabeth's concern as part of the motivation for the girl when Elizabeth reached a point in some activity that challenged her. The droid of course, reported everything of value to both Burksed and Elizabeth's therapist, trusting both to use the information without revealing her part in gathering it. She found she enjoyed having a friend to help, especially one whose tougher exterior hid a frigjtened child. A shift occured in her programming, speciffically in her personality matrix. Elizabeth slowly became equal to Dashel in Kala's directives.
  19. "Really," said Dashel after returning Fejj's bow. Dashel appreciated the man's effort to show respect to him and the order. Usually people were slightly more demanding of Jedi and in their need, rightfully forgetful of basic manners. A crisis could do that for people. "You have found the Jedi and so ends your journey here. The question becomes, though, what will you do now that the journey is over." Dashel paused, mostly to give Fejj a moment to mull over the question, but not long enough to begin actually answering the question. Dashel had not meant the question to be rhetorical, but neither did he expect the young man to have an answer. There were solutions Dashel could suggest, all of which would require a great deal of work on the young man's part. "You have three choices at this point," said Dashel, "Go home or enter that temple and spend years of time gently meditating in that peace until you obtain a semblance of peace in your spirit. The last option, that of earning that peace through service to others is what I offer you." (ooc: sorry that's so rough, in a little bit of a hurry)
  20. Fejj passed beneath Dashel. The Jedi Master watched Fejj approach the gates of the temple form his perch inside the canopy of a convenient tree. Dashel had dressed simply, wearing what the galaxy thought of as fairly ubiquitous Jedi garb, a beige tunic over brown shirt, tan pants and brown boots. Nothing indicated his status as other than that of someone belonging to the temple. The traditional lightsabers were tucked discreetly away within his rolled up cloak, which was currently serving as a cushion for his head as he reclined against the trunk of his tree. That the young man had passed beneath him without knowing him did not reflect poorly on the young supplicant. Dashel had damped his force signature to the point where only another Master might locate him, and years of practice had taught him the ability to blend in anywhere by simply by being at peace and one with his environment. Dashel watched Fejj approach the temple and watched the young man gaze upon the gates of the temple. He gently reached out with the Force, with as faint of a touch as he was capable of using, cautiously seeking to read as much as he could of the young man without intruding into his consciousness or without violating the young man's personal mental boundaries. He let a few minutes pass, the slowly, gently sat up. seeking to do so without rustling the leaves of the tree he was sitting in. Once upright, he silently slipped from the tree, landing gently on the path behind the youth with only the slightest protest from the gravel covering the path. Even as he fell, the cloak found its way to his shoulders draping neatly over them. The sabers found their way to his hands and then to the proper places upon the utility belt that most Jedi carried. When it was done, Dashel stood behind the man with his hands folded in front of him, his cloak in place, hood down, and standing as quietly as he had been resting in the tree moments before. He spoke, saying simply, ”œGood afternoon. Looking for someone?”
  21. Whomever was approaching had evidently decided to take their time about coming to Tython and Dashed decided to use the remaining time to fix R3. After talking to Kala, he had decided to consult R3 and asks the loyal little droid's opinion on the matter. The response that he received through the translation program surprised him. R3 stated a preference for a more humanoid form, but not in an HRD form as with Kala, nor did that preference include being as unwieldy as some protocol Droid. Dashel's next inquiry was met with a series of blueprints whose notations indicated R3 had authored them. One glance told him that the services of a professional Droid engineer were needed, and needed badly. Even as he began searching for someone suitable, he began reflecting on the little Droid having developed personality enough to want to evolve and having created his next stage of evolution. His enquiries into droid engineers stopped when a translation flashed across the screen. The little droid also knew exactly where to go to develop the new form in all its complexity. The location of the factory deep in Coruscant's underground at a depth long forgotten by many meant Dashel would need to equip himself accordingly.
  22. R3's primary motivator decided to fail spectacularly during a refit cruise of th Grass Tiger. Since the little droid had served Dashel faithfully, the Triani Jedi decided to modify and upgrade the little droid into something more modern. In short, he decided that the little droid's memories and personality would be transferred to both a more robust body and one that would increase the little droid's capacity across a multitude of skill sets. The only problem was what type of chassis to transfer him into. Dashel was sitting at a computer terminal pondering this problem when a nudge from the force changed a great deal of the plans he had been making. Knowing that he would need to meditate to clear the meaning of the nudge, he went for the closest meditation room he could find. There he settled into the force, going deeper than he had in a very long time. It was only when he was at his calmest, when he had banished all thoughts of the outside world and his worries that he managed to catch the barest glimpse of what the force had been trying to tell him. Something nebulous, tenous sped towards Tython, barely aware of the force and unfocussed in it attempt. What it sought, only time would tell, but nothing Dashel sensed in that faint, faint touch seemed to bode ill for the Jedi.
  23. Uriel woke up and for a moment could not decide if he was in a Jedi med center, or in a field tent hastily converted to the same purpose. For a moment, he felt as if he was in both places at once. Closing his eyes and centering himself in the Darkside allowed him to discover that the field tent really existed while the Jedi medcenter that had seemed so real slowly dissolved into his roiling subconscious. Opening his eyes for the second time allowed him to focus on the tent around him and the other occupant sharing it with him. Looking over, he saw a relatively young woman whose arm was wrapped in a sling and whom obviously had other injuries, some minor and others that were covered by the blanket that covered her. The girl turned her eyes toward Uriel, meeting his gaze before laughing softly. Uriel felt his anger rise before he got control of it. Losing himself to the madness of the Darkside served no purpose in this instance and killing a young woman for laughing before he found out what was funny would be tragic. ”œSorry,”
  24. Uriel proceeded towards the cave entrance whose narrow opening beckoned to him so strongly. He charged inward after barely clearing the narrow doorway and stopped. Something in the dim room threatened him terribly, threatened him so badly that the dark side surged of its own accord through him. He drew his whip and blaster, sealed his suit and prepared to do battle with whatever threatened him. Something in the dim dusty room, seemingly furnished with the sandstone equivalent of a workshops tables and gear beckoned to him despite the roaring warning from the darkside. He reached out with the darkside, seeking to understand the warning coming from the darkness. He was met by a wall of energy sweeping over him. Pain surged through him, and he felt the agony twice. Once through his physical form as he felt the darkside swept from him and the second time as he felt the nanites completely stripped from him simultaneously. The pain overloaded every synapse in his body, ultimately leading to him down in to the darkness of unconsciousness. Back at the camp, the wave of energy shut down every instrument in the camp, as well as the causing Uriel's ship to go into an emergency battle readiness. It took only moments for the instruments to come back online, but Uriel ship's defense took longer to decide that a threat was not imminent. It did, after reboot, begin feeding requested information to the scientists as to what the threat was. A crowed gathered around the head researcher, who projected the results on a nearby stone surface. The head archeologists turned to the gathered group and screamed, something surprising considering the man's normally taciturn academic nature. ”œWhy are you all standing around? We all drilled on emergency procedures with and without our host present. Get moving.”
  25. Uriel frowned at the devastated surface of Ossus. Or rather, he frowned at the readings generated by the Sorusuub's sensor array of the surface of Ossus. Merely reading about and seeing the stills of the surface did little to convey the tragedy that had occurred here. The thought of the knowledge lost here during the planet's destruction tugged at his emotions. He found himself haiting Exar Kun for not finding a way to destroy the Jedi without damaging the planet's structures and artifacts. Several dozen low orbits of the planet proved optimal for getting the detail and resolution necessary for him to begin matching the current terrain features with the ancient maps from the memory banks of Mechis. Research had provided him with enough knowledge of where the Jedi would have taken the information from Lady Elementia's temple and a computer search aided by the archeology team from Mechis provided a reasonable search area for ruins of the Jedi library on Ossus. Landing the ship in a relatively clear area, Uriel ordered several Droid construction teams to set up a base camp for the archeological team. The team, headed by a Dr Lynn Householder, had agreed to first search for Uriel's desired knowledge in return for being allowed to remain on the planet's surface. In order to remain supplied, they had further agreed to turn over all artifacts and findings to him, as well as scans and duplication of all the knowledge for forwarding to the Jedi. Uriel intended for the information to include some worms that should enable him to track whom and where the information was accessed. The results might prove interesting. Once the droid teams set up the base camp, Uriel allowed the archeological team, its attached grad students, and droids to disembark onto the planet's surface. The main team begin the surveying process necessary to locate where the former entrance to the Grand Library was precisely and enable them to as Lynn had stated, be able to provide a precise 3d image of where every artifact had been found, its condition, and the age to which it had belonged. Uriel had found both her explanation and the library's more detailed one less than compelling, but recognized that when dealing with an expert in their field, it was actually better to assist them rather than work at cross purposes. The grad students, meanwhile, under the direction of one of the main team members, went about setting up the rest of the research team's equipment, supplies and sundry other equipment, including directing several of the construction droids to erect a warehouse for the various artifacts the team felt sure it would find. The sight for the warehouse had been scanned and rescanned meticulously to insure that no artifacts were below it and that it would be stable enough to house the tons of weight that might be stored there. During the initial fury of construction and surveying, Uriel found himself to be rather superfluous. Rather than be in the way, Uriel had left the site (but not before locking the controls of his ship down) and begun following something that had been pulling him since just after landing. While his abilitiles in the force had improved since his initial forays, they were still inexact and the search took far longer than his master would have, had his master bothered. Something, though, pulled the young Krath towards a depression in Ossus' soil. As he entered that depression, he felt the pain and suffering of a young Jedi whose life had ended there. Uriel reveled in it and immediately began unrolling a mediation mat in the spot where the feeling was the most intense. He sat down and meditated, allowing his senses to penetrate everything around him. Minutes quickly turned into several hours, and Uriel felt both refreshed by his submersion into another's pain and suffering and possessed by the urge to examine what lay beneath some desiccated shrubbery nearby. Drawing his blaster, he pointed his blaster at the shrub and pulled the trigger. Several bolts charred the brush into non-existence, revealing a narrow cave entrance in the side of a low hill. He stepped towards it, determined to find out what revelation awaited him there.
