  1. The massassi felt the young child touch his mind, however even as she did he almost as if by instinct blocked the vital parts of his mind from her, preventing any chance that she might find something he wouldn't necessarily want her to know. Only allowing her to touch the non-essential parts, and speak directly to him mind to mind before she went to the shuttle after her tiring ordeal with Borsk. He returned the favour as he heard the words and took in the wisdom. She did have a point. As such he changed tact, and thanked her for the advice before speaking to the commander. “Hmm perhaps you are right. I have spent too long among my own kind it seems, no matter I shall try to inspire loyalty from here on in with mutual respect rather than fear. Unless it is needed of course. Although I think we have our work cut out for us with this lot.” He inspected the one who had the unenviable task of stepping forward. A man who seemed rather nervous albeit understandably so when surrounded by two sith. One a behemoth of a man, resembling what a human might call a 'demon' in some respects. He decided to remedy it a bit and put him at ease. Bolten Jarrix, he read the name from the tag was his name. “Ok, Bolten Jarrix, is it? No need to be so stiff... I won't bite much. We are soldiers of rank both and I shall treat you as such. Tell me honestly, what is the current state of the defences here on the ground? Do you have any tanks and the like? Other than the men before us is there anything available on Onderon and within the city or garrison that could potentially be put to use should the need arise. Anything at all. A storm is on the horizon, and we will need every card in our deck on the table to beat it. If I am to make you into a disciplined and well oiled machine, I need to know just what I have to work with and just what needs fixing. No matter how small or insignificant you feel it may be, please mention it. Please also mention any men you feel may be not pulling they're weight and I shall see about remedying that as well. I may appear frightening in appearance and with abilities that may seem beyond your scope to comprehend, but I am still a soldier and a man who respects the opinions of his officers. No matter if I disagree with them. So tell me everything you can, and we shall see what can be done.” As he awaited an answer, Karys silently observed the exchange between the young child and the trandoshan. The way she weaved the spell reminded him a little of back home when he had in his youth spent some time among the kissai priests and witnessed their use of ancient sith magic and spells to both speak to the spirits of the deceased and help interpret others dreams or visions. Even once witnessing how they conquered fire from thin air. It fascinated him and had aided in his later exploration of the unknown. He noted that the act seemed to tire the young Dathomori Sith when she retired to the shuttle as Borsk wandered off into town. It appeared that there was as always a price to using such techniques...that there was a draining effect. Such was the nature of the Dark. It gave but also took from a person, a equal trade he figured in exchange for what was offered.
  2. Karys gave a nod of approval, before leading the way as requested. He sighed as the young child of Ar-Pharazon seemed giddy over the fact someone called themselves 'Ca'Aran' had sent someone to assist their efforts. He was unsure who this man was and so was cautious...he disliked unknown variables like that. This was not including the fact that whoever had been sent might offer advice contradictory to his own advice. Advice that might be unwarranted, he would soon see however if that were the case. Borsk Zero-House he overheard was the name used. A bit strange for his tastes, but he had heard worse, he shunned the thought aside. Soon enough he led the young Telperiën to the hangar bays where a shuttle waited...the same that had brought him up to the defence platform. Taking a seat, he focused in the Force, meditating as he sat and preparing for whatever might await him below. He had no doubt the troops would be inadequate as they were, given what he had witnessed thus far below, but with the right motivation he was certain he could pull them into something resembling a disciplined fighting force that would be able to put up a decent fight should anyone turn up. If it was one thing Karys knew it was war, it was in his blood and his people's blood just as much as the Force. This was where he thrived, where few others did. He would mould them as he had been moulded, he would break them down and remake them. And just maybe he would gain some respect along the way by all who observed him, instead of being seen as anything but a failure. The only ones so far who had offered any form of respect was his master Sheog, Hayley and the younger Telperiën. He would remember that and repay the act someday. As soon as the two were below, Karys knew instantly who Borsk was. As the only Trandoshan among the various troops and wearing neither Black Sun nor Sith colours it was fairly obvious. As he approached, the massassi studied the reptilian species, trying to think what to make of him. He certainly seemed one of few words given how he acted towards Telperiën and the words he used. At least for now, but then again that could be a good thing. Putting aside his doubts about him, Karys decided to give the benefit of the doubt and trust the child's instincts. Even if he was unsure what to make of the reptilian man before him. Leading the way, he was soon in front of a large group of troops who appeared to be minding their own business when the trio arrived. It was only then he spoke, loud enough and commandeering that all could hear and it was clear whom was now in control. For the time being. ”Ok first things first. Someone around here care to tell us who the commander is and where do we find them? As for the rest of you...form up for troop inspection! As of right now you are placed under our command until further notice as directed by Lord Sheog. Do I make myself clear? Now move it, on the double! Before I start flaying one of you for every hour we get delayed.” Karys waited for a trooper to step forward and inform them, all the while keeping an eye upon the other troops with at least one eye when he could. He intended to make good on his word, any delay would be reprimanded and laziness or failure to follow orders that made sense would not be tolerated and punished accordingly. He was certain the other two would approve of his methods. At least to some degree.
  3. As Karys bowed before his master, expecting punishment even as the younger, Ar-Pharazon lent her will, he was rather surprised to find that was not to be his fate. Sheog instead seemed to approve of him, and of what he intended to do. Thus, he acted, rising from his bow to his feet not wishing to waste a moment. ”I thank you for such praise my master, I shall see your will is done.” Turning to face Telperiën Ar-Pharazon, he spoke, smiling ever so slightly as he did so. ”What say you to a small trip below? See if that rabble below meet our needs.” As he waited for the reply, the massassi warrior considered what he might encounter. And what he might need to do to fix any gaps in the plan that had transpired into place. He had a few ideas but first would need to see the condition of the troops. After that then his options would be made clear.
  4. As Karys took the weapon, inspecting it he considered the young child's words. He could see the merit in working together, yet was no fool...he knew she was attempting something of a manipulation tactic and that amused him slightly. As she mentioned if he was worried he shook his head as he replied. “It is not worry or potentially death that vexes me so. Death I have faced before multiple times. It is shame and disappointment.... I have failed to live up to my potential and was beaten by a Jedi child. I have brought shame upon myself, my clan and my bloodline and allowed a weakness to be exploited.” His own eyes narrowed slightly at first as he spoke, “Not again shall that happen, at least not intentionally. You offer me a path to redemption and for that I commend you, young as you are you seem capable and smart but, yet I am not a fool. I could see what you were trying to do, the subtle manipulation...but don't worry I won't harm you for it or fault you. You did what you felt necessary to secure my allegiance. But you needed not manipulate me into accepting.” As the datachip was tossed, he grabbed it out of the air, and inspected the plans...noting where work was needed. Placing the newly gifted parang on the opposite side of his sabre, on his belt, Karys spoke again. “You offer friendship, if it is genuine and without cost I accept so long as certain assurances are made. I don't want this coming back to bite me, this risk I am taking. And yet if one thing I have learnt is that allies are far and few between among the Sith. One must have friends to survive and thrive, as such I accept your offer. I will head below as soon as I am able to speak to the commanding officer and inquire as to the state of the defences below. If it is lacking, I shall pull them into shape. If the Jedi are coming for Onderon, I will attempt to make them regret that action. And yet... I feel this is no coincidence. That they chose to strike as the Dark grows stronger and gathers momentum. It is an act of desperation which I find most amusing.” Moments later as the two spoke and everything changed. The very atmosphere itself changed, the air became cold, a familiar cold. A darkness he had felt before. Karys tried to ascertain the feeling and then without thinking he spoke, seemingly ignorant of the younger, Ar-Pharazon as he did so, it were as if she was never even there, “I sense something, a presence I've not felt since...” His eyes widened slightly, in awe as the overwhelming gluttonous urge took him over. As he finally knew where he had felt that presence before, a presence that could only be Sheog. As the corrupted shadow rancor took form with a twisted smile, he looked upon it. His master was here, there was no doubt. Without question or hesitation, he obeyed the command even as he heard his master's gluttonous voice. Kneeling he spoke. “Master Sheog, this is a most unexpected but a welcome visit. I was just about to head below and assist with evaluating our ground defences here in preparation for the Jedi. My apologies to you and to Hayley for that incident... I tried my best to avoid it, but the pirates we faced on Myrkr were most insistent she died. I did manage to avoid her death but it cost her eye most unfortunately. That said as you command my master. I surrender everything but my wrath as you instruct.” As he knelt, he laid aside his weapons and all emotions. Allowing only his Wrath to erupt forth in the Force, like a dam had broken. No doubt the younger, Telperiën Ar-Pharazon felt it just as much as his own master.
  5. Karys gave a low yet respectful bow in return, even as his eyes never left those of the child before him. One which intrigued him, despite her size the Force spoke of great potential, and power. It was clear to see just why the new Dark Lord had chosen her. He shook her hand as it was offered, speaking in return. “It is a pleasure to meet you, young Telperiën Ar-Pharazon, I see you jump straight to business... I like that in a person. I greet you in return and likewise offer my full title. I am Karys Narat iv-Adas, apprentice to Sheog The Mad of the Krath, descendant of King Adas l, son to the recently departed Uryu Kallig iv-Narat he who led the Tsis people and his wife Naile Sekat iv-Adas of clan Adas. Now to the matter of my capture. It was not the most pleasant of experiences, but I persisted. I was first sent to Nal Hutta by Master Sheog where I encountered a young Jedi...to fight as is the Sith custom for a trial. All during an imperial invasion of the planet. We fought furiously...and equally for a time until she eventually bested me most regretfully. I underestimated her, but should we meet again I will not be made the same fool twice. She took me from there unconscious as I healed to Coruscant where I met another Jedi. A Master Jade Skywalker if I recall or something like that. We spoke briefly, offering our different perspectives in a philosophical nature...naturally we disagreed. She thinks us only savages it appeared which I found rather amusing to say the least. Rudely she was the one who sent to the Galactic Alliance. I offered nothing of value nor would I have given it if I had. Whilst with the Alliance I listened and waited. I spoke with a Bothan section chief, Prask Lor'dro. He wished to know what I was doing on Nal Hutta, I told him only as much as the fact I was there for a Sith trial... I had nothing to hide at that point. I attempted to sway him, another failure. He also found me of no value when I offered him nothing he wanted to hear or, so he thought...and sent me here, to Onderon by shuttle. It was all rather humiliating until I escaped. Away from those infernal lizards he put me with. But make no mistake. I have learnt from this my lessons...I will redeem myself and accept any punishment Master Sheog deems suitable for my failure. But that aside, what was it you wanted me for? of what use can I be to the new Dark Lord and to you.”
  6. Karys face visibly changed as the troopers mentioned he would have to wait a week if he wanted to get to Korriban. He didn't have a week, at least he thought so but just as he was about to mention the fact and figure out some alternative means to arrive faster a messenger walked up to him. The massassi grew curious...who wanted his attention and why. And more. Who knew he was here aside Sheog, questions no doubt that would soon be answered, but he decided if he was to meet another Sith he would not go without being properly dressed for the occasion or unarmed. Besides, he thought, GA prison garb would make a bad first impression. As such he sighed informing the messenger to tell whoever it was that sent them he would be a few hours, and to express his regret and apologies in the delay. A minute after Karys traversed into the market proper, he noted there seemed to be a lot of priests about and places of reverence. Getting a few awkward stares at first, he was quick to scare as soon as they saw the markings upon his face and his massive stature. He headed into a clothing and armour bazaar, one which seemed to house combat specific clothing, just right for his needs. A bodysuit or some type of armour would do fine for now. Looking about, he soon found something to his liking. By the look of it, it was a custom bounty hunter type armour, most likely. Inspecting it...he found it satisfactory to his needs. Taking the item along with two vibroswords that seemed to be with the armour, part of the package he imagined, Karys approached the vendor who spoke enthusiastically despite the presence of the strange being before him. “Welcome! Welcome! Come in to my store. I see you have your eye on something, that there is a custom piece of my design, made of several interlocked plates of durasteel and a comfortable form fitting bodysuit underneath with some cortosis weaving thrown in. Given the rise of sabre jockey's these days I figured it was better save than sorry. You know what I mean? I even threw in a handy face concealment. You in luck today is a special offer! Buy that armour and you get two high quality vibroblades as part of a deal I got with Alex Helix Weaponsmith down the road. But where are my manners! I'm Kosh Allta of Allta armourers, practically the best armour store this side of the galaxy if so do say." Karys looked at the man, muscles like him but more energetic and a blonde human with short hair, blue eyes. Doing his best to smile...the massassi spoke. “I'm Karys, it is a fine piece. How much for it? And do you accept Sith Credit?” The man considered things for a moment before replying. “Oh you a Sith eh? I wasn't a fan before but since the Dark Lord came things have got better for me so can't complain. I do take Sith Credit. That'll be 2,500 credits but since it's using Sith Credit I'll tally it up, by looks of it you needed the armour, there is a changing room out back you can use if you want.” Karys nodded with approval as he headed to the back. Quickly discarding the prison garb, he was glad to be rid of it as he adjusted the armour and placed the two vibroblades upon his back in the holsters provided. Heading back out he gave a final approving nod before heading back into the market. One task complete he thought, as he walked to various electronic stores picking up the bits he would need to create a lightsaber along with a few extra bits to add to the defences therein. He doubted those he bought them from knew what he intended to do with the merchandise nor even cared for that matter. Hearing that the Sith And Black Sun conducted hunts outside the walls. Karys saw an opportunity. Soon enough he was on such a hunt, lending his skills to the chase. It thrilled him to be back in action again, as he applied his use of the Force and weapons training tracking various beasts. And yet none seemed adequate for his need. Until he spotted a strange creature in the distance. A predatory quadruped with by the looks of it long claws and powerful fanged jaws to disable any potential victims. He was surprised to note the creature soon vanished, despite the fact he could feel it in the Force. And yet soon enough the creatures was about to pounce upon him, it appeared the creature used the Force to cloak themselves, making themselves nearly indistinguishable from the darkest shadows; a fact that surprised and intrigued the massassi. After an hour of playing cat and mouse, the two finally confronted each other again. Karys smiled as he lifted a vibrosword from it's holding, ready to strike. When the creature pounded Karys did not expect what happened next. The creature seemed to almost shrug off the attack...it appeared its thick hide was resistant to intense heat. And so he resorted to the Force hoping to kill it before it vanished again. Focusing and matching on he used his telekinetic ability to crush its bones against itself, crushing the lungs and soft innards as he flung the strange creature into a tree and another like a rag doll. Until eventually the creature submitted and was dead from the brutally of the kill and the punishment inflicted upon it. Removing a fang from its jaw, the massassi was satisfied he had a perfect base for his sabre hilt. With that he looked about...he needed a place where he could be alone, a place of dark power that he could focus and build his weapon. Stretching out in the Force, he found such a place. Into the mountains he went and climbed for what seemed like an hour before reaching the summit or as close to it as was possible. There he began the task ahead, one that required his complete attention. Taking a sword he made a small cut as he focused within the Force. Unleashing all his rage, feelings of loss, of failure and hatred for the Jedi that captured him. Soon enough the blood that flowed arose to the centre of the turmoil, even as an unnatural storm seemingly gathered about the top of the mountain as he continued. The blood that flowed begun to take form into the shape of a crystal, blood red and fuelled by the Dark. It pulsated with an angry energy, a primal energy. Once complete the rest of the process was fairly simple, each component fell into shape inside the overly large fang like a jigsaw puzzle being completed. Yet there were slight differences from his last attempt. This one held defences that were more able to keep the Jedi from disabling the sabre. In fact the attempt would be deadly. Inside Karys focused and placed between the components, various metallic ball bearings and a DNA scanner of sorts formed of the Force. Only his imprint would disable the defences, any others who tried would be summarily blown to little bits of blood paste as the weapons innards exploded releasing a metallic and fang shrapnel cocktail upon whomever tried. As Karys finished he ignited the new sabre, testing it. A bright crimson red blade sprung to life, his Wrath again taking the form of a demonic voice that seemed to flow from it, aching to be set loose upon any in its deadly path. Satisfied, Karys headed back to the city, placing the new sabre upon his side. Now he would be recognized for what he was and what he would represent to those in the city. An extension of the Dark Lord and a tool of the Sith. One of many and to be feared and respected both at once. As he entered he noted the change of tone towards him. Many gave a wide berth as he walked when they saw the sabre. Soon enough he arrived at the waiting shuttle and was headed towards the fated meeting. A meeting of bloodlines. One ancient and one new. This shall be interesting. I'm curious, who would want me other than Sheog, regardless at least I shall finally prove myself. He thought as he sat there waiting while the pilot took him up. 7. Karys was slightly relieved when the fighters backed away, allowing him to take the GA issued shuttle to the surface below. Sitting as best he could inside the cramped confines of the cockpit...the massassi took in the sights of the city as he approached the Iziz spaceport. There appeared to be yet more construction, far more than had been above the planet. Once landed at the correct birth, opening the ramp, Karys strolled confidently even despite his odd appearance...still wearing his Galactic Alliance issued prison clothing. Which was sure to raise questions, another problem was apparent too. That Jedi had also stolen his credits and identification. So he had only one apparent choice. Try to explain why he was in the prison clothing and without identification to the authorities. It was sure to get a chuckle out of them...at least until he threatened to snap a neck or so. He was not in the best of moods. Approaching customs, he stood silent allowing them the first words, speaking only to speak his name and acquire what he needed. "I am Karys Narat iv-Adas, massassi and apprentice to Sheog The Mad. I have no identification or items of any kind...not even accursed credits. I have just recently escaped the custody of the Galactic Alliance, I am in need of new clothing...preferably military in nature, some weapons and if you can provide it a ship that can ferry me to Korriban. It is important I get there as quick as possible. To rebuild my lightsaber, and return to my master thereafter."
  8. As the shuttle arrived above Onderon, Karys awoke from what sleep he could get while on the journey, having not immediately searched for something to free himself...it was better to be rested and ready he thought and then work on escape. The sound of alarm bells ringing, informed of his imminent arrival at the intended destination. And yet he was still in a predicament...he was still bound by stuncuffs, both his hands and feet. A result of that no good Bothan section chief, whom had tricked him when he had attempted to persuade the man to free him he recalled. Someday he would repay that favour but for now he had far bigger concerns. Shuffling as best he could the massassi attempted to right himself, only getting so far as to lean against against a wall while holding his hands in front of himself as his eyes searched for anything useful that could aid in fiddling the electronic locks open to at least the cuffs on his feet, and then he could get up and throw those infernal lizards out the nearest airlock and let the Force do the rest. Using the wall, the massassi lent hard against it before putting the weight on his back, and using his feet to slowly bright himself, even if it did hurt his ankles slightly in the process. The pain was minimal however, and soon enough he was again on his feet even if the movement was limited for the time being. After a good 20 minutes shuffling about the shuttle, searching for anything useful with mixed results...Karys finally came upon something he thought he could use. A jagged piece of metal that was loose, pulling it away he looked at it. Just the right size to fit in the electronic component, he found another equally satisfactory piece on another wall, by the floor. Taking both pieces, the massassi sat down, or rather slumped down and set to work. As best he was able given his current condition, he moved one component and another, re-wiring and hoping for the best...he knew the next part was going to hurt...alot. Pain however was a feeling he had grown all too accustomed too and thus he was ready for it. Sticking both into certain positions, touching wires in a circuit, he felt a massive jolt of electricity shoot through him as his attempts in affect short circuited the electronic components inside and killed the stuncuffs power. Allowing him to open them. He slung the stuncuffs on his feet aside, and stood up properly for the first time in some time. He sued the same process to remove those on his hands, the smell of slightly burnt flesh entered the air...but it was worth it he thought for he was now free. His first free movement was to remove the lizards....and remove them he did. Picking up the reptiles nutrient cage he marched it to the airlock and systematically sent the cage into the vacuum of space that surrounded Onderon. He hoped they enjoyed their new home. With their presence removed Karys felt a old friend return. A familiar feeling, the Force. And with it came a sense of relieve...that he was now complete. His ruminations were interrupted suddenly by the sound of more alarms blurring. This time it was of several fighters headed his way. Sith and Black Sun fighters. Heading to the cockpit, Karys was confronted by a awe inspiring sight before him. A large contingent of Forces both Sith and Black sun seemed to have occupied the space surrounding Onderon. Along with two Golan II platforms that were hovering nearby, there was alot of security...and reconstruction going on. It appeared the rumors were true. A new Dark Lord was in charge, the sight before him and the Force confirmed it. The Dark was growing it seemed at a feverish pace and the web was growing with each moment. It brang a smile to his face to know that despite losing his personal battle the Order as a whole was winning the war thus far. The massassi was quick to send a reply using a Order verification code as to avoid being blasted by his own allies. Although he had quite a bit of explaining to do no doubt. Regardless at the very least this brief stop would allow him to pick up some armour and weapons that needed replacing. And then he would travel Korriban...both to pay his respects to his dead father in the ritualistic funeral rites given to those of important status among his people and to remake his lost saber. And maybe make some improvements upon the design and defences in the process. "Attention Onderon Defence Force. Stand down and hold fire, this is Karys Narat iv-Adas, apprentice to Sheog The Mad...authentication code has been sent. I am here on a brief stop to resupply both armour and weapons before meeting my master, having just escaped Galactic Alliance custody. Do I have permission to proceed to the surface and carry out my objective?" Karys waited for an answer, as he did he allowed himself to enter the Force. The Dark was ever present, and as suspected growing....strengthening. Just as the Light and it's hold was weakening. Yet again he smiled. It truly was a time for the Sith. They're time had come...or so he thought.
  9. Even as he spoke and fought, before falling silent...Karys willed the force to still the glass shards still embedded within his flesh....like small daggers that edged their way ever inwards. Aiming to halt their movements even if it was only temporary, fighting back against the force being exerted against them. With each time she tried, he opposed with opposite force, sweat now pouring down his brow to mix with the black blood that flowed in his veins and across his armour. With each movement it hurt but the massassi simply accepted the pain, used it to drive him, his resolve unending and determination absolute. With one movement of his blade as he swept by, he spat blood at her trying to catch her in the eye in a attempt to blind or distract her of her goal. He wasn't certain on the success of that particular offense, so continued his assault elsewhere. A grin gripped his lip when one of the duracrete slabs hit the young jedi after he had messed about with her damaged rib and torn up her intestines. He grew a little frustrated but respected the young jedi's ability thus far to reflect his blade. As he thrust out the 'push' in the force he felt a twinge of danger. A silent alert. Even as his focus had seemed apparently entirely on the push, that was not the case. His attention had been divided between two things. His target and his surroundings. His eyes caught the sight, the vibrobayonet he had noted earlier....hurtling towards him. He knew there was no avoiding it coming at him, not when he had committed himself already. Which left him few options. Save perhaps one or two. As such as quickly as he could, the massassi warrior entered into a backflip. He allowed the momentum to propel his form backwards and placing his strength on one hand hoped the same momentum would propel him back upwards after the vibrobayonet hit the wall behind. This would be swiftly followed by a last exertion of force energy. A dark tide that would grip around Sandy Sarna's fragile broken body. And break the remaining ribs and any other assorted bones nearby into sharp, needle like shards about her insides as Karys crushed her bones inwards into her organs like it were trapped inside a vice or a press. He would show her what true darkness was when he broke her. That breaking the Dark and it's beholder's would not be made an easy task. ((3)) (Indeed. Great fight, good luck. )
  10. With each counter of Sandy Sarna's blade, her Vom Tag somewhat impressed the crimson massassi....somewhat. He always did admire others techniques of combat. However as she was soon to find out despite his large size, the Sith was rather quick a fact which often took his opponents by surprise. As a attack came for his chest he redirected the blade and again when it came for his shoulder blade. Karys was more amused when his counter worked, the concussive force of his 'push' hitting the young jedi like a freight train at full speed. He allowed her to fly a dozen meters before she twisted and flailed...skidding on her back as much of her equipment broke away loose before she grabbed the vibrobayonet, a fact which did not escape his gaze, his species eyes capable of tracking moving objects at nearly twice the magnification of humans. And yet the massassi could feel there was more. She was hurt, her body had been broken in the strike. Now he had a opening, he would use it wisely and treat her like a she was a building with a crack, a crack that could be widened and bring the structure toppling over when enough stress was placed on it. A flaw. A flaw that had seen the downfall of many a opponent. As Sandy pressed at his injuries, Karys gritted his teeth bearing them, sharp and jagged as they were. His eyes which once were yellow, were now the deepest, pupiless black. Like there was nothing but a vast, emotionless shadow behind them, a true terror to behold for all who saw it. It was the same black colour as the blood that now flowed down some parts of his armour. Drawing upon the Force, using all the pain he felt as he had been taught, fueling the darkness, the massassi fed the great fire within and set it ablaze. Turning what would usually be wounds that could bring down mere mortals into a irritation instead, even as it slowed the process down, Karys was acutely aware it would not hold out forever...he had to end this soon. He merely laughed at her attempts, speaking between sweaty, panted breathe. "Cute trick jedi. But I am accustomed to that of pain, pain you can scarcely and barely imagine. While you were likely nothing but a thought in your parents eyes I was bathed in the baptism of violence and war. You speak of destroying me for the good of the galaxy...but tell me what good will that do? The galaxy is bloated...corrupt. And it is only getting worse. When the rot becomes so much one must cut it out. It is a time for change, it is the time of the Sith. Can you not see it? Can you not feel it? The Light is fading jedi...the time for the Dark has come and with it a new era shall begin. The Golden Empire that was foretold by the most ancient is on the horizon and I will see it through to it's end." As Sandy attempted to apply more pressure to his wounds, the massassi decided to return the favour with equal malice and contempt. But first a distraction and diversion was in order. Stretching out in the Force, Karys lifted several large pieces of duracrete and launched them at his target...like he was throwing several fast balls in a baseball game, simultaneously. Following this, Karys latched onto the broken ribs of the young jedi. And attempted to force them inwards, moving them about as if he were opening a sack with a knife upon any organs in the way. And perhaps at least he hoped breaking off inside and causing more harm. Even as he did that, the crimson warrior approached at speed, zig zagging as before, keeping his movements never in one place or spot at a time and always on the move. Making himself a hard target for both the jedi and any would be imperial who thought about taking a lucky shot while the massassi was busy. His hope was even if the duracrete missed, his sabre would not. Karys fell into a a variation of Juyo as he ran, holding his sabre defensively he struck at her vital points in several consecutive strikes that at first glance were chaotic, vicious and erratic. But upon inspection each was as planned as the last, albeit just as unpredictable as the form was implied to be. Karys placed feign's between each movement aimed to distract and redirect. Slashing at her neck, legs (and her achilles) and arms at the wrist and elbow hoping to take her sabre hand as he unleashed a barrage of deadly accurate cuts and slashes. Yet Karys was fully aware of his capabilities and as such, was prepared after to unleash another push that would send her flying if that should fail with the crushing force of a locomotive. Hope for success but plan for the worse as his father always said. Regardless Karys was certain one way or another this duel would end and very soon if he had any say in it. ((2))
  11. Karys was not one easily tricked or to take any enemy he faced lightly. Although he had not faced a jedi before face to face, their reputation proceeded them and as such he knew to expect the unexpected...to be wary even if they seemed placid and calm. His assumptions were proven correct when the teenage jedi before him attacked his person. A unprovoked assault upon a unarmed foe or so he thought. It almost amused him...almost. As the debris shot towards his back, Karys felt a twinge in the force, it spoke of danger. Danger headed at him and as such he reacted quickly, without delay. Focusing the force upon his feet the massassi shot upwards, above the ground, letting the chunks of duracrete slam into the ground where he had previously stood. And then he saw a additional problem as he landed again. Glass. Shards of glass, many of them headed his way. Clearly this jedi was gifted with telekinetic attacks and more clever than most. And yet Karys was not a scared in the slightest, in fact he was amused almost yet again at the prospects of the battle that was taking place. For he too shared a similar gift, a affinity for telekinesis. As always when faced with a foe of such magnitude he stood fearless, only now his sabre was ignited. The crimson red lighting up the Tu'kata fang he had carved it from, the blade called out...demanding vengeance and wrathful punishment upon the jedi who had assaulted Karys. Carve the flesh from her bones! Shed her of her mortal shell and feed me her entrails. Let my wrath be felt upon her soul! It demanded. The wrath within desiring tribute. With his free hand and sabre hand, being very careful about not touching the red hit beam of plasma, Karys again focused the force. This time he employed the same technique that she been used against him in a form of mockery whilst also serving as his defence. Lifting several chunks of duracrete he placed them in front of himself, as a makeshift shield of debris hoping to stem at least some of the glass form entering his body and preventing a premature death. As expected that is precisely what happened. He felt pain, a ever familiar feeling enter his body. Several shares got stuck in his armour, piercing the medium dragon krayt while others got stuck in his left arm and legs. He thanked the god's for his extremely tough skin, courtesy of his race...and also thanked his training if not for that fact many of the wounds would likely have been far worse and been far more irritable. As he held the debris aloft he spoke out, using the pain as fuel, he launched the chunks of duracrete into the last of the glass hoping it smashed into the shards and thereafter the jedi who threw the pane of glass at him. "How rude, attacking me unprovoked and without provocation like that. Is this how you treat everyone you meet? Not very jedi like. Regardless, you presume incorrectly of my race as many others do. I am no slave to the Sith and neither is my race nor are we held in bondage. We serve of our own free will and out of loyalty. Not because we are forced to do so. We are symbiotic...we feed on the dark side, and empower it in turn. The Dark is the bosom from which we were born and it is the Dark which we shall continue to serve until our dying day. The Dark is not as you may think. Corrupting by nature...but it will consume those unable to control it properly, or those who delve too deep and too greedily without thinking of the consequences. There is always a price both for the Light and the Dark. At least that's how I see it. You and your ilk have always been afraid of what you do not understand and seek to punish us for it. My people and the Sith both. You seek to destroy us under the pretence of keeping the 'peace'...and claim we are evil. Yet your crimes are just as bad. Such hypocrisy. You reap what you sow jidai. Vengeance will be ours, maybe not today or tomorrow but it will come. But I get ahead of myself. Allow me to explain my purpose here. I am not here Kalimore, in case that was what you were worried about. I am here for you, for I have been tasked with fighting a jedi by my master and in so doing I will rise. It is unfortunate that you chose to answer and become my road to ascension. I don't make a habit of fighting children. Shame really but beggars can't be choosers, if you are my road to ascend so be it. My master commands and I obey and in so doing I assure my rebirth. Yet he never mentioned if I should kill you or not...I guess we will just have to worm through that particular problem when it comes. For now let us fight and see who is truly worthy." As he threw the debris shield, Karys followed close behind, zig zagging as to not stay in one place and not make himself a easy target. All the while still talking until finally he fell silent his entire focus on the jedi before him and the battle, his senses alert. Sabre in hand awaiting the moment it would cleave her flesh, the demonic voice within savouring what it hoped would be the moment to come. Yes...feed me. Let her feel the wrath of the Sith. The sabre called, like a addict seeking drugs. His other hand was likewise preparing a counter should it fail. A wall of telekinetic energy which would with any hope 'push' his enemy into anything behind her. At the moment it was focused solely within the palm of his hand. Like a coiled viper ready to unleash hell. ((1))
  12. Karys did not show himself initially, he simply observed and spoke in the com-link he had to Hayley at first. "I have made contact...keep the ship engines running and observe the battle. Anyone attempts to interfere, I want their corpse lining the streets. Karys out." On that notion, the massassi continued to follow the young jedi as she slowly scanned the streets with he noted a saber ignited in hand, expecting what Karys thought was an obvious attack and broadcasting herself in the force. He laughed a little, how like the jedi to think he would simply charge in. But he was no fool and would not act as some among the Order's ranks. He had learnt his lessons well in his youth the folly of charging in and been taught the true way of the warrior. He laughed more so that she was attempting to lure him out just as he was trying to lure her . And yet he was somewhat shocked a little to find the jedi so young. Barely out of her teens...he had expected someone older, someone experienced and mature in life...clearly the jedi had slipped back into old habits. Or so he assumed. He decided to learn a little about his small foe, learn any weaknesses he could possibly exploit. The old adage 'Know Your Enemy' playing in his mind. And as such moved along the rooftops before dropping not far ahead in a area that opened up and entering a warehouse nearby to wait, his back to the door with both hands behind his back as he looked out at the battlefield ahead through a large window. Doing nothing...just observing, the same robed hood he had initially put up still over his head, concealing his face in darkness. For now at least. At long last I meet my enemy. Karys thought, excited at the prospect of what was soon to come. As the jedi entered the warehouse, debris strewn about. He spoke in what would be a unusual dialect likely to the young girl, a dialect not many had ever heard, it was in basic and yet there was a strange accent to it. Deep and almost gluttural. It was that of the pureblood sith. Of the Massassi. "Welcome Jidai, I have been expecting you. I have to commend you for falling right into my trap. For following my lure in the force, for I allowed myself to be found." He said. Turning around, Karys faced his foe, his rage, hate and anger buried just below the surface, awaiting the moment when battle would commence. Throughout this he remained calm and fearless, even though he kept one hand close to his saber in case the young jedi tried anything foolish and acted prematurely. "Long have I awaited this moment, the moment I would come face to face with my enemy. The enemy of my people and the Order whom I serve. The enemy of the Dark. It is a moment I have prepared for my entire life, trained for. And yet...I was not expecting one so young. So...small. This is most troubling. It leaves me in a bit of a conundrum. But where are my manners." Removing the hood, Karys revealed himself. His yellow eyes and red skinned head, marked with scars...there was no doubt this was a pureblood sith. A Massassi. "Just because we are enemies doesn't mean we can't be courteous or get to know one another, at least for now. Wouldn't you agree? I am Karys Narat iv-Adas. Descendant of Adas himself, massassi...that is a sub-species of the Tsis or Sith and a member of the Order which took my people's name. And who might you be? That whom made the fool's choice of following the jedi and then my beacon in the force." As he waited for an answer, Karys stayed where he was, saber in hand but not ignited....for now at least. Many thoughts crossed his mind, most of all was how to handle this situation. It wasn't his usual manner to fight or even kill children. Even if they were teenagers.
  13. As soon as The Stinky Bantha was hailed by Kalimore's fleet, Karys became aware of their successful infiltration. At least thus far when Hayley told him as such...and yet...the journey was not over yet. The duo still needed to make it to the surface without Kalimore noticing the ship diverting off-course, or without them paying enough attention anyways to cause trouble. But if it was trouble they sought, he would not deny them. As Hayley piloted the ship, the massassi at last happy with his loadout and the placement of his weaponry, headed towards the command deck. Checking on the pairs progress he was satisfied as the ship slipped between the fighting and descended below, hidden at the back of a formation. Soon enough and the ship snuck off before landing on a unoccupied landing pad in the city. Covering his face and head, Karys wrapped clothe around to conceal his features...at least for now and motioned for Hayley to follow. Deep into the city he walked, even as panic gripped many lives around them. Even as chaos erupted, like the calm within a storm, Karys walked defiantly and without fear. He knew in places such as this the Dark protected it's own. Now all he needed was to find a jedi somewhere among the millions of lives, but the massassi knew that was no easy task. A single jedi would never trouble themselves with him. Not when many others required help. No it would require...more to gain their attention. He would need to lure them out. As such Karys sent a beacon out in the force, one only a jedi would think to pick up on. A dark beacon that echoed his darkness and challenged the light to face it here among the chaos of battle. It spoke in defiance of life, in defiance of the light. Come. Darkness awaits.
  14. It had been a few days since both Karys and Hayley had left the orbit of Myrkr...much to the delight of Karys and he imagined Hayley too. She had suffered far worse in that jungle while devoid of the force, now the force and it's embrace welcomed them once more like an old friend long missed. Luckily for them there had been some medical supplies aboard the barabel ship they hijacked from Myrkr to deal with the worse of the injuries sustained. And now the two unlikely allies were again being thrown into the fire in a manner of speaking. It appeared the battle here was well underway, at least the various blips and dots on the map seemed to indicate that was the case. Yet none of that was of Karys concern. The Sith were not here to render aid to any side of the conflict, the conflict would serve only as a cover for his goal and aid in the pairs infiltration of the planet. As he looked up the transponder signal, the massassi couldn't help but chuckle a little at the name The Stinky Bantha, clearly the one who thought up the name was something of a joker. After the brief moment Karys recalled his objective. His orders had been very specific, to find a jedi and fight them. Only then would he receive the reward he had long been denied...only then would his rebirth be truly complete. The massassi would see it done, one way or another. He had looked inside the cargo hold, apparently this ship was stocked with weapons intended to be delivered to Kalimore which provided the two a opportunity to infiltrate the planet just as they wished, that was if Kalimore would treat with them and allow them permission to land. He only hoped their disguise would hold. Mercenaries working on the barabel pirates behalf, not that he was too concerned if it fell through, if that happened they would fight their way through the chaos until the goal was met. Karys decided to leave it to Hayley to do the talking while he prepared himself below deck. Even so Karys could feel the chaos ensuing through the force, endless and glorious as it was. He could feel lives literally being snuffed out all about outside the ship, all around Nal Hutta. It was a shame he wasn't here to join the fray much as such a battle enthralled him. But then he fathomed there would be other times...other wars and battles to fight. For now a small taste was good enough, he looked forward to seeing his true enemy for the first time at least. To fighting the jedi, it was what he had been training for all his life. This would be his defining moment, his time to prove his worth in the eyes of the Sith...and he would be damned if he would let them down again, it was his time to awaken. Placing his saber up one sleeve, he concealed the tu'kata fang well and secured his other weapons tightly. With that done the massassi sat and meditated, focusing on the chaos around him and drawing it in. Using it as fuel to light the fire he felt deep inside. To feed his darkness. Closing his pupiless yellow eyes, he focused. Soon he was floating as the darkness surrounded him. And so it begins. Destiny approaches.
  15. Karys was quick to dive out the way of the out of control ship's path, when it went hurtling into the jungle...scorching a path deep in the trees. As the camp went wild and barabel pirates set into panic, the massassi couldn't help but laugh a little. This wasn't exactly the distraction he was planning, but it worked all the same. Although now the two had another problem...no mode of transport. That was until the massassi listened, replying in kind he came to the same conclusion. "I agree. Sheog doesn't seem one to place all his chips on one table. You call for a ship, I'll try and keep the remnants of these pirates away." With those words, Karys ignited his saber once more, and started to clear a path through any who got in his way to the makeshift com-tower...any pirates who attempted to stop the two sith from leaving this forsaken world. They would become prey and embrace the darkness.
  16. Karys looked at Hayley as she seemed to speak to no-one in particular and spat upon the ground, mentioning that the two should leave. It was a sentiment shared...however there was first the matter of acquiring some medical supplies and perhaps if chance afforded it to give the planet a helping hand in it's vengeance by providing a circumstance where the native wildlife could easily attack the camp with little trouble from the pirates. The massassi saw such a chance when he noted to what amounted to a makeshift armoury. One or two pirates kept going in and out, now and again and exiting with a weapon of some sort. Karys smiled knowing the enemy was hardly in peak fighting condition, at least not like he or Hayley who were sober and not bloated with food which gave them a distinct advantage. He would sort that armoury out once his current task of finding the medical supplies was complete. He spoke out. "Wise words. You head to the ship, get it ready to leave...we have spent long enough on this wretched planet devoid of the force. I'll grab you some medical supplies." With that Karys snuck towards the camp as best he could, concealing himself as before among the foliage and moving around the outskirts until he stopped in a area that was least patrolled, waiting as his newest prey approached and stopped just in front of the bush he was hiding in. It appeared the barabel was having a smoke break....a shame he was about to ruin it. Instead of his saber, Karys opted to use his combat knife Adas Fury. Silently the massassi crept upon his unsuspecting victim...and slid his poisoned knife upon his throat ripping a grin like tear across and spraying babarel blood upon the jungle floor. If the fact he was bleeding out didn't kill the lizard, the potent poison capable of rendering a full grown adult human dead within two minutes would. After placing the blade away, back in it's usual place, Karys proceeded to hide the body in the same bush he had been using and proceeded to sneak about the camp, attempting to avoid further patrols and making his way to where he hoped would be the medical tent.
  17. Listening to Hayley, Karys could not but help agree. Sheog was perhaps the must unusual creature he had ever met...at times he often made little to no sense, his cookie challenge was evidence of that but despite this his methods did yield results. As such he couldn't fault the Hutt, at the very least he had found his time under Sheog to be alot more fruitious than the time he had spent with previous sith. He had felt the change, had found a sttrength where before he lacked. Putting that thought aside, the massassi focused on the task at hand. Looking at Hayley, he decided it was high time they got off this rock and back to the Order and Sheog. "That he does. Well I think we have spent enough time in this jungle, what say you to hitching a ride out of here? Although getting that ride is another challenge itself...but such is the way of things. Let's get off this rock and back to civilization. I hope you still got enough strength left we are gonna need it." With that Karys faced the now apparently drained barabel. He didn't bother smiling, instead lowering his considerable height down to the pirates level before speaking. "Better this time. It is unfortunate that now our path together here must end, I suppose I could be merciful...in putting you out of your misery quickly on account of the information you gave us. But first tell me, do you long for such a moment? Do you long for death's sweet embrace? I have seen beyond the veil three times and found nothing but pain and suffering, a endless torment that seems like a lifetime. That continues day after day...hour after hour...second after second. Before I mastered the strength with my own hands and clawed my way back from the lands of the dead. Is this truly what you want, what you desire? To be set free into this living nightmare?" Finding silence, the massassi ignited his saber once more as he rose to full height...and decapitated the barabel with one swift movement even as he spoke again. "So be it." Moments later and Karys had erected what amounted to a makeshift warning sign. Placing the head atop a pole for any who travelled that way to see. A warning to other pirates. Do not cross blades with the Sith or face the same fate. Once finished he looked to Hayley. "That should suffice for now and keep some of the pirates away from our direction. Now let's go acquire our ship shall we?" On that he put the saber away, but ready just in case as he begun walking the direction the now dead barabel had indicated the camp was. Motioning that Hayley should likewise follow.
  18. Karys listened as Hayley came to her revelation. Thinking upon her words,he to came to the same revelation...he had felt a change while here, a strength he had not encountered before now. A hidden strength that allowed him to carry on in absence of the force. It seemed Sheog knew what he was doing when he sent the two here. It was both a lesson and a means to improve his connection to the darkside, he saw that now. Allowing a smile to grip his lip, he felt humbled in that new understanding...even as the barabel before him squelled in pain from the lightsaber stuck in his scales. Speaking out to Hayley first, he revealed he too had come to the same revelation. "Yes...I believe I too I am beginning to understand, it does seem that is the lesson of this place. Sheog as always knew what he was doing when he sent us here. He knew we would grow in this jungle and become stronger if taught what it is to be absent of the force...to be a sith is not just to know the force but to know even in those places without the force that the dark is always present. The lesson is as you said, to find our own strength so we are able to carry on even when the force is not present. He truly is a worthy master of the sith." On that note the Barabel spoke up...indicating where the pirate's basecamp resided and that there was a ship they could steal there. However much to the massassi's delight the pirate neglected to.answer the rest of his line of questioning, which gave him a good enough reason as any to inflict more suffering upon the helpless soul he was tormenting. He really hated pirates, especially those who tried killing him. "I'm afraid your shipment is about to be delayed and your friends are about to lose a ship, your Hutt friends will have to wait for another shipment. As for your answer....you answered most of my line of questioning but you left out a detail. I asked you how many remained to guard the ship...a pity, for this lapse of judgment I must now punish you. You force me to reveal my true nature. A consequence of your lapse of thought and a reminder not to be so neglectful in my next line of questioning." Removing the saber, Karys started to slide it along the barabel's remaining leg at the knee. Like he were peeling a onion as he slowly and purposefully removed the scales and bone in the most painful way possible, as if he were enjoying every moment the barabel suffered. It was torture at it's finest. "Let's try again shall we? I trust you not to forget anything this time. How many guard the ship and remain at the base? And who now leads you, do they remain at the base or are they hunting us as well?" The massassi awaited a answer as he contemplated the revelations he and Hayley had made while on Myrkr. As ever it seemed, Sheog was full of surprises.
  19. Karys managed a smile as Hayley let it known she was all but ready to fight to the last...a sentiment that was shared. The massassi was not about to let some pirates get the better of the sith, at least not while he still had any breath left in his veins. The pirates would pay the blood price for interfering in the affairs of the Order and his assignment, but not before suffering a little. Hearing the sounds of the ysalamiri nearby, Karys impersonated the call, and threw a small stone he had acquired on the way up nearby...sounds that soon drew the attention of the three man patrol. Cautiously the trio approached and soon enough both Hayley and Karys heard them talking. "You surez you heard somethingz Skahtul? Last time you'd said you found somethingz it was a vornskr and then a ysalamiri! You betterz be right this time." A greenish/red barabel turned to face their accuser, snarling at them as they grabbed them by the front, much to the amusement of the watching massassi...how little did this group know what fate soon awaited them. "Laughz it up Thared, I know what I heardz. Someone is here I smellz them....now follows me or wouldz you rather end up like Yek Lissk did. Heard he got his arm cut off and headz split like a ripe fruit by one of them force typez. Some red man and a Hapan womanz. And now we gotz the plaeasurez of hunting them for Sahka's trophy room, after all they killed her mate didn't they." Inwardly Karys laughed, it appeared someone had taken his last kill rather personally. Regardless, Sahka was about to be very dissatisfied and dissapointed. Within moments the chirping of ysalamiri and growls of nearby vornksr were interrupted by the sounds of slug rounds whirling through the air as hell broke loose. The trap was sprung and the signal given. Karys acted quickly, wrapping the coil of the liquid cable around the one they called Thared's neck before hoisting them upwards as he descended below to the left most pirate, spitting them with a saber cut that emptied the barabel of their guts as he touched the ground to come face to face with his nemesis resulting in a swift kick.to.the guy that sent the barabel pirate sprawling to the ground and his weapon getting trapped between some undergrowth. Soon enough a slight round flew from the right, followed by another hitting Karys in the right arm, much to his aggregivation....before he dived behind a tree, a simple diversion as Hayley was given a moment to take aim and unload a shot or two of her own. Luck or something other appeared to be on both their sides as the shot hit home, departing the barabel previously known as Tull of their face and life when the round span through the cheek and exited the back of the cranium, spilling brain matter across a tree bark and part of the forest floor. Abandoning his previous weapon the remaining pirate, owing true to the barabel's aggressive nature decided to not given in without a fight and proceeded to despite the odds make a charge at Karys wielding a pair of razor sharp double ended knives who was only to happy to depart him of one arm and a leg sending the pirate to the ground. The massassi was quick to stroll up to him and start what would hopefully be a fruitious if painful interrogation of the remaining pirate. Imbedding his saber into the barabel's remaining arm to get the point across...Hayley and he were in control and depending on if his answers were suitable, he may just walk out alive. However unlikely that was. "Now that I have your attention, I believe you have some information of use to me and my colleague here. Depending on how you answer, you may walk put with most of your limbs or none. That choice is yours to make. Let's get started shall we? Starting with the obvious. Where is your current base of operations situated, is there a shuttle and how many remain to guard it."
  20. Karys kept a close eye upon Hayley as she seemed to be mumbling to herself incoherently....all in all it was not a good sign. However it appeared slapping the Hapan, despite his reluctance to do so, for all his faults he would not strike a woman or child...without good reason had the desired affect. She puked her guts up and that appeared to wake her, he noted her remaining eye clutter open for a moment. Whispering to her ear he spoke. "Feel better? Up for repaying the pirates for that eye? Looks like we have company, three of the same type scum as before. Best be ready for them." With that the massassi set to work. His eagle like vision, and honed natural senses heard the three long before they even came into sight. As such he prepared beforehand via climbing up a nearby tree like a similar circumstance previously however this time, Karys took care to conceal himself, and moved a little slower to be as silent as he could....covering himself with whatever he could so when they did turn up....it would be a unexpected surprise when he jumped upon them. Preparing his grapple, Karys thought up a plan. He would if possible, first wheel one of the three upwards as he went downward, using the liquid cable to hoist the pirate up at the neck...wrapping the coil around, removing his weapon along the way and keeping him momentarily occupied whilst he dealt with the other two a bit more traditionally. It sounded ok in practice at least. Time would tell if it bore fruit... He informed Hayley of the plan. "Ok best keep out of sight for now. If you can fight, hide and wait for my signal...then strike the one on the left, I'll take the right. If not keep hidden until it's over. Right let's get to it." I hope this goes right... The massassi thought as he ascended, beginning what he hoped would be a successful plan.
  21. Karys face lit up with delight as the saber did it's job and hit home, severing the pirate leader and removing him of his arm, resulting in several curses and screams as the Barabel fell to the ground when the massassi finished the job. However Karys delight turned to concern when he noted Hayley had not gone unscathed from the encounter. He could do nothing as the hot bolt made it past his defense and into her eye...a fact that illecited a feeling of horror and then anger at himself for not being able to stop it. I should of stopped it! Why didn't I stop it!? A fool's mistake. Your quicker than that, you know it. I must be better, I will be better. Running as quickly as he could, with Hayley now firmly attached to one arm, the massassi made a beeline for the woods as several bolts flew past into the trees and surrounding area, and the massassi himself was not free without a price to pay. Two bolts caught his left leg, one a direct hit and the other a light grazing wound that struck him as it zipped by causing the smell of burnt flesh to enter his nostrils and several curses in sithese to fly out most unceremoniously, it was very unlike the massassi who rarely swore in the company of others. But without the Force to dull the majority of the pain, even despite his endurance he just couldn't help himself. Su'us iv xealonera! Po velnių, chaosas zinot xalone! Anas virztease ztaoseni, tezn j'us saut oer Nu itik j'us... j'us valia alga nuo anas niratiz jiaka! Translation: < Son of a bitch! Goddammit, chaos have mercy! That bloody hurt, just you wait until I get you...you will pay for that pirate scum! > Struggling through the pain, a accustomed feeling...the masssassi continued to run further and further into the trees, with Hayley in tow. Eventually the two settled next to a rotten piece of wood once they were sure they were clear of the pirates for now. It was a welcome reprieve no doubt. As Hayley broke out in a laugh, he joined her illeciting the smile she was after, however the moment quickly passed from one of laughter to concern when she collapsed unconscious just seconds after the massassi finisbed the sentence. "Fast. I would say interesting but that's semantics. Hayley? Hayley!? Oh no you don't, your not dying on me yet! Sheog would kill me." On that notion, Karys gave her a mighty slap hoping to jolt her out of her stupor before applying a bacta patch from his belt to her eye and one each to his leg. Should do for now...at least until I find something more permanent. Hmm...there are a few pirates so could mean one of two things. Either they got a ship or a base nearby. I'm betting the latter. Well no time like now, time to double back a bit and follow the bantha fodder see where they hide. They are going to rue the day they sought to swap blaster bolts with the Sith, I'll make sure of it. With that the massassi lifted the Hapan with the same arm she had grabbed before, heaving her over his shoulder, before making a move in a wide arc back the way they came as to follow the trail, hopefully to a base. Being careful to try and avoid detection from the pirates where possible and placing Hayley down when it was impossible to avoid them, hiding her among the undergrowth as his saber remained silent. Now was not the time to attack. This required patience...this he knew, his time would come soon enough for vengeance. One must be patient when faced with such odds. He thought. Silent and as deadly as a Tu'kata on the hunt on Korriban, I must lay in wait and follow them to catch them when they least expect it. For now they live for I have far graver concerns. Hayley 's survival is my priority as such I must let them lead me to their base or bag a pirate...make them squel. But that might not work in my favour...they might call others. No I think I shall follow them and locate some more medical supplies. That temporary fix won't last long. It's better that I play the long game. With that the massassi begn anew the game he was playing. A game of cat and mouse.
  22. As soon as Karys heard the telling sound of a blaster bolt, he knew there was more trouble ahead. As if his day couldn't get any worse than it already was going....it seemed the Force was really pushing the limits today of the Massassi and Hayley. Looking down Karys saw Hayley had been shot, right in the abdomen. A cowardly pirate had shot her when she wasn't looking, Barabels by the looks of them numbering at twenty and packing some serious firepower. He noted that most were aiming at him and as such were not taking note of Hayley, something which worked to his advantage. As soon as the leader pointed a blaster at her face, Karys pounced like a uncaged animal...Karys was furious, the sheer audacity of the act! The Barabel pirates were about to find out what happened when you provoked a beast as deadly as a Sith. Putting caution to the wind, Karys leapt over the Vornskr in front of him and ran at speed to the edge of the tree, giving the beast a swift kick to the face in the process hoping to send it at the pirates below by tipping it off the branch. A minor distraction at best but something was better than nothing. Jumping over the edge of the tree branches and out of the tree he was in, Karys attempted to avoid several blaster shots while he aligned himself above the leader. Bringing his saber down the Sith Warrior was hoping to descend in time to meet his arm and remove it before the barabel could fire into Hayley's face. The follow up would be just as quick, brutal and efficient. A decapitating blow or something to a similar deadly effect. At least that was the plan that spawned into the massassi's head. This he envisioned would be followed by grabbing Hayley and making a swift exit into the treeline. Not to retreat or no, as a Sith....as a warrior he couldn't permit himself to retreat. This was all part of the attack, amongst the trees the two could easily hide and use the undergrowth to stage ambushes, use the trees as cover and reduce the twenty members of the pirate band to walking in smaller groups as obstacles got in the way. Guerrilla warfare at its finest. His speciality. Within moments the Sith acted, beginning for better or worse the battle in earnest. Upon his lip was a look of joy and equal parts malice as the killer within was brought out to enact a terrible vengeance upon these unfortunate souls. Their time of reckoning was upon them.
  23. (OOC: So sorry for the delay life got extra busy all of a sudden with very little warning.) Just as the massassi had begun climbing the large and rather tall olbio tree, barely making it halfway...he heard several words that were not what he wanted to hear...cursing his bad luck, his face visibly grow a paler shade of crimson as light seemingly reflected off his pupiless yellow eyes, like they were made of amber or gold neither of which was the case. It appeared that time and the wild of Myrkr were very much against the two, a Massassi and a young Hapan girl whom had been fated to work together on this planet. It was a rather odd pairing all things considered and a task Karys convinced himself he wouldn't fail in. Knowing he had about thirty seconds to a minute at most in which to act, Karys threw caution to the wind. Taking his new saber, the massassi ignited it, holding onto the branch with his other hand as he waited a mere moment, allowing one of the Vornskr to make it to his branch as to deal with the threat now rather than later and decrease the numerical odds against the two. Charging along the branch and using it's claws to grip, the beast ran across towards his prey. But Karys would not make himself a meal so easy. No this prey was not prey at all, this one had teeth to bare. This one was a hunter, a killer of beast and men. And more than that, there was something primordial about him, something that gave the Vornskr reason for pause before hunger won out above caution. A grin gripped his lip as both the hunted and hunter locked eyes. Karys relished the moments like this...moments where life hung in the balance and the truth of who a man really was would be revealed. Would they run or would they fight? Karys for one was a fighter. Taking a deep breathe, Karys waited and only at the last moment did he act. As the gnashing jaws came at him, he thrust out with the saber, still holding on with his other hand and using his feet to keep steady upon the branch, a vicious intent set upon slicing the beasts skull down the middle or impale it wherever fate allowed the saber to land. Even without the Force, the massassi expected the saber to do some damage, and as such held a tight grip upon the Tuk'ata Fang hilt he had fashioned and was ever careful to avoid slashing himself as he controlled it's every movement.
  24. Karys was happy Hayley was alive and apparently well, despite a slight injury due to her fall but that was to be expected. Stepping back to allow her some space, and helped her to steady herself a bit before she hissed letting him know she was fine as she wriggled around him and to her feet. Much to his amusement, allowing a brief smile to transfix his lip at the sight. As the Hapan girl spoke, Karys soon understood just why she had collapsed in the manner she had. H remained calm, allowing her to use him as a support when she chose to steady herself more as a few droplets of blood hit the grass...and himself. It also became quickly apparent...they were not alone. No doubt the smell of blood had attracted attention. Let them come. Karys thought, as he readied himself for combat as the sounds of the wild made themselves known. Looking about and making a note of where the bushes rustled, the sound and direction of where the Vornskr's were likely lying low and attempting to sneak up upon the pair, the massassi had several thoughts. A plan sprung to mind, well one which would suffice for the moment. "Well that explains alot. Well looks like we both have relied on that gift for far too long, sometimes you got to go back to basics and what you used to know to see you through the day. Can't always rely on the Force can we to see us to the end. Such is the case now. That aside I think your right. It seems the wildlife smelt your blood, let's not make it easy for them however...let's draw them out to where we want them if we can." Pausing but a moment he continued. "We are gonna need some bait, luckily for us we are perfect for that. From what I hear Vornskr's love a good Force-sensitive. Problem is they hunt in packs, and numbers and the environment are against us here...we are on their turf. But let's turn that to our own advantage. Check the ship see if we got any mines and stuff we can use to slow them down...see if we can prepare a little surprise for them. I have an idea...but it is a little risky. I'm gonna use myself as the bait, if we got mines place them under leaves and old bark around us. Although be careful not to step on one yourself." He winked "While you do that and if we got enough time I'll prepare some traps using some old tricks I picked up. We'll lead them in and splatter our faces with their blood, although just in case let's bag some grenades if we have any and set up a couple of E-webs for good measure. Time is against us so I suggest we get started." Karys said before climbing a tree, cutting some vines down and several branches, passing one or two ysalamiri on the way up. It appeared he was attempting to make some type of deadfall traps, some spikes or spears as well. Objects they could use if his plan failed and hide where they knew them to be and could easily reach if needed.
  25. Karys looked up as Hayley collapsed, and at finishing collecting what was needed, the massassi ran to see how she was. Checking, he made sure she still lived...the last thing he wanted to do was explain to Sheog that his most valued asset had died on his watch and suffer excruciating pain for it. After collecting his equipment, Karys was quick to rush to her side and check she was alright. First he made sure there was a pulse....some sign of life before turning her around to face upwards in the weeds and speaking to see if she had coherence or was at least conscious. As he did this, the massassi adjusted himself to the distinct lack of the Force present. Breathing slowly, deep breathes he closed his eyes and focused...allowing himself to breathe in the air and adjust his senses to the new surroundings. Remembering what it was like to be without the Force and using only the senses he was born with. "Can you hear me Hayley? Do you feel any pain anywhere? Can you breathe? Give me a sign if you are conscious to let me know you are coherent and able to walk. If your having trouble without the Force, close your eyes and breathe several deep breathes for a few moments, take in the air. Let yourself adjust to the change." As he waited Karys, looked about, making sure the coast was clear of hostiles as he surveyed the area. Listening the massassi could hear ghe local wildlife moving about in the bushes and almost feel all eyes looking at the two by the shuttle. Like demons in the night studying prey. Yet he was silent, and focused. If they came he would be ready.
