((FYI - Sorath - no weapons are allowed in the Casino itself - Security checks them in at the security checkpoint as you leave the hanger bay. You drop them off as you go in, pick them up as you leave.))

The woman gave a nod of her head, "I'll note that one down and take it off the list Sir. Any extra equipment you require, you can get from our Stores here or at our Headquarters on Coruscant. Is there anything else you require?"

((I know, but I have leather straps to hold them. Though I don't have the weapons themselves, I have the strap.))

"Do you have any sort of blaster?" The lady was silent "I should have thought so, well I'll need a ride but I'll take care of that myself." Sorath said "Any other details?" Sorath said "Like what the guy looks like, the swoop bike, was he dangerously armed last time anyone saw him?" Sorath paused "Does he drink?" Sorath waited for the response.

Brina nodded. "I'm sure Durose can handle it. If there is a glitch...or a snitch...he'll find it."

She rose and grabbed a glass. Filling it with water, she sat back down on the couch. "So. You and the Count may be a pair, any future trips to Dathomir will most likely be postponed, and you had a pleasant time anyway. Business here is booming, despite our glitch with the clearance security, and I'm the same as always."

She smiled. "So, really, how are you? It seems like it's been a long time since we've actually talked."

Sorath walked through the dock. He got his weapons back and made a deal with a pilot of a cargo vessel who said he was going to Coruscant. He couldn't wait to get the mony for busting that man and for getting the swoop bike.

Rune winked at Monica as she blushed and made her choice. His gaze shifted to the Droid, "I'll have the shrimp and a Corellian Ale please."

When the waiter had left their table, Rune turned his attention back towards Monica.

"So, what do you do for fun when you're not working?"

Monica was still a little dazed with fascination when Rune asked a question....

"So, what do you do for fun when you're not working?"

Now she had to think really hard because, due to the rise in business lately, she hadn't really had a chance (besides this one) to go outside of herself to really enjoy life...

Monica: "well its been a while since I have actually had fun, besides this particular instance of course, but... I usually just have fun with my friends; we like to go shopping, playing games around the casino just for kicks, we never gambled.... but, aside from that, there isn't really much else to do... that we enjoy; ... now that we haven't really hung out together in a while, my friends have started to call me a workaholic"

Monica finished her sentence with a sigh , showing her admiration and yet deep resentment for the large load of work that had been shoveled onto her...

"Yes I'm sure he'll find it, whichever it is."

Zara stood, heading to the kitchenette to grab a cuppa, then rested back in her chair. She brought up her cup of caffa, taking a sip.

"No..., I doubt we would become a pair... He's... a friend. Though you're right about Dathomir."

She gave a smile, taking another sip as Brina asked how she was. "It has been ages since we've just sat and talked. I am doing okay. Each time I go on a trip I notice just how much the children have grown when I come back. I guess you don't see it when you're constantly with them." Zara's smile softened as she talked about the twins and youngest daughter.

"And what about you? How have you been?"

"A beautiful woman like you shouldn't be a work-a-holic" Rune reached across the table and took her hand. "Though I do know how it is." He paused a moment before continuing, "I have to leave tomorrow morning to head back to work myself."

He released her hand as the waiter brought their meals out. Silence fell over the table as they began their meal. Rune looked back up at Monica, giving her another smile.

"I'm glad you decided to see the movie and have dinner with me."

Her smile softened. "I'm doing alright. Been thinking a lot recently. Remembering the past...events, places, people."

She paused. "Everything was definately more exciting back then. Life seemed to have new vivacity for each day. Now it's more of the same old stuff everyday it seems. That's not true, of course, but I feel the galaxy is a much darker and drearier place than it was since...well, since I started working here."

She smiled wryly. "Then again, maybe it's just a personal change of perspective. I was more headstrong and free back then, and while life had it's black spots, they seemed...more bearable. I don't know what it is..."

"A beautiful woman like you shouldn't be a work-a-holic" Rune reached across the table and took her hand. "Though I do know how it is."

she preened at the appraisal, and stifled another blush (or at least tried to)... and Monica felt kind of limp with her hand in his...

Then the meals came... Monica was so hungry, she just started eating when it came; but she still tried to remain composed all the while she was greatly enjoying her dinner... because, with Rune being so proper in his vocabulary and manner... the last thing Monica would want him to see, would be her scarfing down her food..

After a large hush that rested over the couple as they ate, Rune looked up, smiled, and said:

"I'm glad you decided to see the movie and have dinner with me."

This statement was interjected at a point where Monica had several shrimp in her mouth...but she went on as if there weren't any...

Monica: "yru welhum..."

Thought -Brilliant! your talking with your mouthful - Geesh, I don't need to tell you how embarassing that is huh?

Monica Quickly swallowed her shrimp in order to make a more educated response...

Monica: "sorry bout that... your welcome, to tell the truth, I think this is the best day off I have had in a good long time.... and I am sorry you have to go back to work soon"

-Comm to The Link-

This is Lord Wyhl's Fleet Commander. I am sending this message to assure you that the Hutt's are still friendly to associates of The Link. In time we may need to call on you for services and such. I hope we can continue to have a mutually beneficial friendship.

Business is our main priority...

Now is your time to die...

"I know what you mean. It does seem darker in the galaxy at large. You are still 'free' you know... though I guess it seems otherwise. I know I feel bogged down here from time to time, not being able to disappear when you want to." Zara glanced in the direction of the kids bedrooms, "Even with the good changes." She sighed, knowing how her friend felt. Sometimes it is nice to get away... even if her last trip she missed her children terribly and it was kind of a disaster with the Nightsisters chasing her.

"You know... if you want to take off for a while sometime, do your own thing for a while just let me know."

The beep of the comm brought Zara out of her reverie. She played it aloud so Brina could hear.

"Ganelon must have done something right then."

"But Zar, where would I go?" Brina asked with a small smile. "Besides, you need me here. I would never forgive myself if something happened to you or the kids. You're like my family, and this is my home."

She gave a brief laugh. "I just get ansy sometimes. And...don't tell anyone, especially Durose, but your brother was the only one who could settle that anxiety in me."

She dropped the subject just like that. "Yes, Ganelon seems to have made contact with the Hutts. It's always good to know that they are still interested in an alliance."

"So am I. But I'm glad you are having a good time. Would you mind if I looked you up the next time I'm here?"

Rune had decided that instead of going to his home planet of Bespin for his next holiday, that he would come back to the Casino - that was of course if Monica would like to see him again. He smiled up at her before taking another mouthful of his shrimp. Finishing that he said, within hearing of the droid waiter,

"We must compliment the chef. This is the best shrimp I've had. They have an excellent way of preparing it."

It didn't take long for his plate to be cleaned.

"So am I. But I'm glad you are having a good time. Would you mind if I looked you up the next time I'm here?"

Monica: "no, not at all, it would be perfectly alright... I don't know what may happen in the future, so I can't make plans; but I am sure I can bend the rules a little... again, so I can see you..."

Monica smiled, and was enjoying very much the shrimp in front of her... so much so... that now her plate was empty..

"We must compliment the chef. This is the best shrimp I've had. They have an excellent way of preparing it."

Monica: "I agree"

Monica thought she probably wouldn't come here for a while, because this was one of the most expensive places in the casino... so, she might as well compliment the chef while she was here to do so...

_---_---_---_

The droid waiter was routinely checking tables.... when Rune wanted to compliment the chef...

Droid Waiter: "hello, I couldn't help but overhear... you said you would 'like to compliment the chef' right?"

"Yes this is your home. I didn't mean you had to go anywhere... you are family. The kids love you and you know I think of you as my best friend."

Zara fell silent at the mention of her brother. It was true, she'd seen the effect that Kat had had on Brina. Whatever it was that happened to her brother, she wished he would come back from wherever it was he'd gone, that he would get himself together. If only... where have I heard that before... There had been a time when she had thought Kat would marry Brina. They really would have been sisters then.

"Yes it is good that they are. I guess we should reply to the Hutt's. It won't hurt to have Ganelon with them for a while... I hope."

Rune was glad that Monica would want to see him again when he next visited the Casino. Hearing the droid speak up, Rune grinned at Monica and turned towards the waiter.

"Yes, I would like to send my compliments to the Chef. Your Chef is very talented."

Checking the time, Rune noticed that it was getting quite late. Dinner had taken a lot longer than he thought it would have and he did have to leave early the next morning. He asked the droid for the check. While waiting for it he spoke to Monica.

"Would you mind if I were to walk you to your door?"

Brina nodded. "Ask him. If Ganelon is comfortable sticking around there, I'm sure it will be helpful to have a representative with the Hutts."

There was no point in pondering the past. There was nothing she could do to change it.

Brina rose. It was getting late, and Zara had just gotten back. "You must be very jet-lagged. I'll let you get some sleep. You deserve it."

She smiled and said farewell to her friend, then headed back to her room. She would sleep, then tomorrow she wanted to get some work done on the ships.

The Droid Waiter gave their compliments to the chef, gave them the check, then he made sure Monica and Rune made it out the door safely...

Still at the Table, Before the Droid had delivered the check, Monica had really been enjoying herself... so when Rune asked..

"Would you mind if I were to walk you to your door?"

She said...

Monica: "no, not at all"

...Monica remembered something for a moment though... she still had to check out of work, and to see if Lina had done ok... just thinking about this brought shivers down her spine.. but she had to do it...

Monica: "... but I need to check something first before we go... if thats alright?"

"That is fine."

Rune got up from the table and went around to her side of the table, pulling the chair back as she stood up then pushing it back under the table when she had stepped aside. He offered her his arm as they headed out of the restaurant.

((OOC: I feel so un Idejjen -ish right now, because I haven't played my actual character in a while.. where is Durose??? ... I know I should get over it, its just... arghh))

_-*-_-*-_-*-_

Once they got out of the restaurant with clasped arms, they headed quickly to where Monica's workstation was to check on how Lina had done... Monica was very nervous because, even though she trusted her friend.. it seemed very wierd and unsafe for her to give Lina her station for a day, but she could only hope now...

When they got there.. Lina looked very satisfied, and once she saw them she offered them a broad wink... then rushed over to Monica to tell her what happened, (because obviously she had read Monica's facial expression)

Monica: "so how was things?"

Lina: "alright - the tour was long and drawn out, then again this place is huge, but I delivered the information with thourough detail, and even managed to entertain a few people when the tour got a little dull.. I even got a few compliments from people in the group afterwards" she said with a smirk, "Oh, and just before you ask it, no, I won't be taking your job away from you... I must admit it is harder than it looks... now I know why, when its a big day, you are utterly stressed out of your mind"

Monica: "ok, thats all I wanted to hear, thank you for your help today Lina... I believe you've already met Rune"

Lina: "your welcome, and hi Rune... so how did your date go?"

Monica: "well... its a long story... if Rune wants to tell you ok, but I do not feel like telling it today, because I am very tired.. "

Monica: "me and Rune are walking to my place, want to come along and just you know, talk about stuff?... maybe we could have a sleep over"

Lina: "sounds great, I'll get my stuff and meet you in your room.."

=- Lina Runs off -=

Monica: "well that seemed pretty easy, now lets you walk me to my room"

So, off they went in the direction of Monica's room

Rune stood by while Monica and Lina caught up, an amused smile on his face as Monica asked how Lina went with the tour... and the relief on her face when Lina told her that she wouldn't be taking her job from her.

"Hello Lina." Rune said after Lina spoke to him, "Thank you for covering for Monica."

His gaze shifted back towards Monica with a fond look.

"We saw a movie and had dinner at the Restaurant under the stars'"

He saw Lina's impressed look before Monica spoke up again. He had hoped to walk Monica back alone. Lina must have thought so as well for she left them saying she would meet her friend back at her room.

Again Rune offered Monica his arm, the two walking slowly back to Monica's room. When they got there, Rune released her arm and took her hand, bringing it up and brushing his lips against it in a soft kiss. Meeting his eyes back to hers he spoke.

"I had a good time tonight. I'll see you next time I am here."

With that he released her hand, traced his fingers gently along her face before leaving her to talk to Lina who was fast approaching. Once back at his own room, he called through to room service, asking for a bouquet of flowers to be sent to Monica's room.

He slept well that night, waking when the alarm went off and taking his packed bags down to the hanger to board his ship. He had to get back to work, having received an urgent call from the asteroid mine supervisor wanting him back as soon as he could possibly get there. After the routine procedures, he lifted his ship from the hanger bay, leaving the Casino and disappearing into hyperspace.

Monica had had a fun time that night, and it showed greatly in her behavior, and she was honestly sad to see Rune leave, because he was one of the first guys in a while that she could actually talk with...

She really enjoyed the walk to her room, and once Rune kissed her hand she blushed...

Monica: "Thank you for walking me to my room" Monica stated, and as if by reflex Rune aknowleged it and left; not before he played a little at Monica's cheek and face... conveniently, Rune left at the same time that Lina was coming...

Monica didn't sleep very well that night, because of both her chattering friend, and Rune ... Rune didn't leave her mind, and when he had sent flowers it didn't help her cope at all... but she knew she might eventually have to let him go... she wished she wouldn't have to...

The Golden Umbrella eased its way towards the Golden Link Casino. Preparing to dock, it was a thing of beauty as the light reflected off of the golden sail while it was being drawn back in. Violet was looking forward to some time here. The Casino drew in the wealthy and powerful alike. The upper crust of society. These were the sorts of people that she preferred to mingle with, not some lower class...

'You are cleared. Dock at bay 11B,' the feminine voice over the comm stated simply in a welcoming, almost seductive tone.

Oh, this will be fun, Violet thought to herself as she rose, allowing the pilot droid to dock the ship while she freshened up and changed. Though her accommodations onboard her Punworcca 116-class interstellar sloop were quite comfortable, she was looking forward to spoiling herself in one of the more luxurious rooms that the Casino had to offer. She deserved it.

Her first thoughts were for the sushi bar. It had been quite some time since she had enjoyed such a wondrous collage of flavor. Perhaps while betting on some pod races, yes, that would do just lovely. After that, a walk through the aviary would be just grand. Before leaving though, she would make it a point to stop by the souvenir shop. A trinket of the Golden Link Casino itself would suit her just fine.

The Golden Umbrella was now docked and secured in place. Leaving the pilot droid to basic maintenance and shutdown procedures, Violet disembarked, dressed in a somewhat relaxed outfit. A bodysuit accented with violet. She would gamble tomorrow and dress for the occasion. Tonite though, was all about kicking back and enjoying herself. She knew better than to start off gambling while tired.

((I'm sure you do Idejjen. Time to do something about that))

Zara had followed Brina to the door, farewelling her friend then had retired for the night, gratefully falling into bed and was soon asleep. In the morning she was woken up by the sensation of a warm body curled up beside her. Opening first one eye then the other, she took note of the blond hair of her youngest daughter. The other two didn't crawl into bed with her so often these days, though Mellanie still did from time to time.

::: Sometime later :::

Zara made her way into her office, wondering what was going on with the security investigation. She sent a message off to both Durose and Idejjen asking one of them to report on what was happening with the investigation.

The sushi was INCREDIBLE. It was perfect, delectable, superb. The pod races weren't all that bad either. They were more of an event to watch in order to pass time rather than something to get all worked up about. She had placed a number of small bets; won some, lost the rest. In the end, she ended up being down on the night. No worries though; she had every intention of making it back the following evening in the casino.

With a full tummy, Violet made her way towards the aviary. The fact that this casino station even had an aviary just spoke all the more of how it was geared towards the wealthy and affluent. In many of the lower-class establishments that abounded elsewhere, VERY few, if any that she knew of, had an aviary. Just one more thing that separated the upper-class from... the rest.

Yes, she did have a superior air about her, but in her eyes, she truly was above most everyone else. She wasn't foolish enough to believe that she was the top, the pinnacle, but Violet certainly counted herself as one up and coming. Not that that was her goal, but she did seek self-improvement often enough. It wasn't a constant ordeal, but a steady habit which she had gotten herself into. It had been paying off.

Stepping into the aviary, she took in the glory of it all. The flora and the incredible variety of birds were just breath-taking. As she drank in the scenery, enjoying and appreciating the natural beauty; she found it hard to believe that more people didn't fancy such a place as this. They were simpletons, grumblers, and wretched things who found little appreciation in anything but themselves and deserved little appreciation in return. They...

She shook her head lightly, clearing her mind of the thoughts. She was here to dwell upon the atmosphere of her surroundings; not the defects of the majority of society. Stopping by a particularly lovely flower, Violet reached out and gently cusped it in her hands. Leaning close, she closed her eyes and inhaled deeply through her nose; the mesmerizing scent stimulating her nostrils. She could stand here forever, or so she thought.

((OOC: Thank you!!!))

Idejjen was still staring blankly at Durose, who still appeared to be lost in his thoughts... after a few days of searching

Durose suprisingly had not talked to Idejjen for a while except for telling him to follow him wherever he went (which lead him to thinking that Durose was imersed in his own thoughts), and Durose seemed to be getting no where with his efforts in the investigation... but everyday, despite these futile efforts, Idejjen and Durose woke bright and early anticipating something to just randomly jump out at them... which never happened, but they didn't really have people checking up on them either... which was honestly kind of wierd...

This bothered Idejjen everyday that Durose and him were the only ones who were on this case (or so he thought), and no other security official had called to check on them in a while.... which changed one day while Idejjen was once again in the same meeting spot they had been in for a few days...

Durose recieved a message... which he seemed to ignore, but Idejjen politely asked permission to recieve the call.... this was a fairly bold move on his part, because being out of touch with Durose, Idejjen felt that Durose had started to dislike the rather grotesque creature he had let join the Golden Link's security force... meanwhile, the message was from a person of authority here on board, so, despite the fact Idejjen had no Idea who she was, she wanted to know their progress... so he gave her his reply =-=

=-so... ummm our progress has ceased to become that, in fact it seems that we have hit a snag in our investigation that we try to break out of every day, but the effort seems fruitless the more we try at it... then again, durose hasn't talked to me for a few days so I am unaware of his thoughts on our current situation...

It seems though that the last bit of info we gathered was that: whoever broke in to the Link's security was someone on the inside, that someone had to be a very skilled hacker, and that someone had to have stolen Durose's pass codes... because several days ago, Durose said so himslef that they were exploiting his security access...

Thats all I really have to give in the way of info, and as for Durose, he has been focusing on things that I don't know lately, so in turn, he has been ignoring his comm - if you have any info please let me know though, because if Durose ever does come to his senses again, he would probably want to know..

thank you for this message -... oh, and I don't mean to be rude, but just out of curiosity, who are you? - I don't recognize your voice...-=

Having made an end of her tour of the aviary, Violet wasn't suprised when she saw a clock and realized that she had spent about a few hours just enjoying and soaking in all the natural beauty of the birds and plantlife. Now it was time for bed.

As she made her way towards the upper levels, where the hotel was, she pondered over tomorrow's schedule. She was looking forward to some gambling and would most likely start off just before noon. To help stimulate her mind, Violet decided to try to find a game of dejarik. That always seemed to help get her mental thought process going. It was a challenging game which she enjoyed playing immensely, most likely because she was now VERY good at it.

Standing at the counter, she rented one of the luxury suites. 'Here's the key to your room Ms. Raine. It's number 107. Down the corridor to your left, fourth door on the right.' 'Thank-you,' Violet replied simply as she accepted the key and made her way back towards the Golden Umbrella. She would retrieve a small daybag before turning in for the night.

As she packed, Violet was looking forward to relaxing in the spa within the wash chambers of the suite. While she did enjoy a shower, a bath was just the thing, especially one in a large tub with a few bubbles and perhaps a couple of candles. Exiting her ship, an expectant, almost giddy-like smile crossed her face. How she loved spoiling herself, and she was most definitely worth every credit of it.

It wasn't long before she was in her room, disrobed, and soaking in the steaming spa. The tub was large and the bathing chambers were just exquisite, as was the entire suite. Without any noise in the background and only a few candles reflecting off of the mirrors, Violet laid her head back, a broad, contented smile on her face as she closed her eyes and again, soaked it all in. Yes, she was definitely enjoying her stay.

Zara received the return comm from Idejjen, concerned about the way someone had been exploiting Durose's pass codes. The codes would have to be changed again. They must not have been changing them regularly enough. The system that Kat installed was designed to change randomly, though something must have happened for that to have delayed somewhat.

She hadn't met this particular employee, had only heard reports of him and heard what Brina had told her. Therefore it didn't surprise her too much that he didn't recognize her voice. She responded with another comm.

"I am Zara Nargal. I'm yet to meet with you, Idejjen, though I've heard good reports about you. Let me know if you have any breakthroughs on the case."

===

Ms Raine would discover, when she further investigated the room, that she would have a "goodies" basket with all manner of items from various quarters of the Galaxy. It was a standard procedure to have these gift baskets in the elite rooms for their guests.
