Background: Jan was born on Coruscant. His father is a ship mechanic that worked under the Empire, switching between different Star Destroyers, helping to repair various starfighters. He was an officer in the Imperial Navy until he was twenty-nine, which is when his wife, Jan's mother, gave birth to Jan. Jan obtained his combat knife from his father. Jan's mother is a nurse in a medcenter on Coruscant. Jan's desire to become a Sith apprentice increased as he grew older on Coruscant. Looking at the vast and impressive Imperial Palace, seeing gigantic Star Destroyers, and the large Imperial City itself gave Jan the impression that the Empire was unstoppable in its might, and that the Force-wielding Sith were a group many sought to be a member of, but few were ever let in.
