  1. As the final preflights were done Jazce closed the hatch. The Jedi were either on board or working their own way down to CoreSec HQ. Shrugging in to his restraints he kicked the Everready in to life and smoothly left the EV. Heading back to CoreSec HQ. It wouldn't take long.
  2. Taking the lead he boarded the Everready, turning he did a quick head count. For such a short trip the old YT-1300 would have more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable. If they had been expecting a few GS days to pass then maybe it would have been prudent to take more ships. "You're all welcome to come with us on the Everready. Might be a little cramped but it gives you Jedi time to do your mental prep together and save time in HQ staring at the guy." So saying he nodded to HK, indicating the droid should start pre-flight checks. As it trundled off to do as it was told with a baleful glare cast in his direction he settled himself in the cockpit, waiting for the Jedi to decide how they were going to travel and for HK to finish pretending he was checking things... They had just flown the ship here not two hours ago. Of course it was ready to fly!
  3. Jazce's looked as Adenna's new padawan approached. His eyes blank as he assessed her. Human female. Young. The accent was familiar. Kaal? He remembered its like when he had been a Stormtrooper on rec leave. Maybe in her early twenties or late teens. Tall for a woman and quite fetching. Taking stock of her gear he assumed the Jedi would have taken that in hand. It wasn't much. Especially in these troubled times so soon after a war. Turning as Adenna spoke his eyes narrowed. Her voice had even less emotion in it now than it had before, but her words were far more disturbing. Even if he had witnessed most of it. Suppressing a wince as she proceeded to probably scare the girl clear through he surmised that perhaps they should talk sometime. He could perhaps teach her a little of dealing with people. Especially her new padawan who from what Jazce knew would learn almost everything from her. Turning back to Gracelyn he nodded to her as Adenna introduced him. Suppressing another wince at the use of his title. He was still getting used to that. "Nice to meet you." Was all he said. Not wanting to rain on Adenna's introductory parade. If he had his way and he continued working with Adenna he would have plenty of time to get to know the new padawan later. Still a little nonplussed at the brutality of Adenna's opening statement to the girl he turned back to the Jedi. "I'm ready to leave when you are."
  4. Jazce nodded. Keeping his trepidation hidden under layers of military discipline. He didn't know whether she should be the old Adenna again. That woman had been driven to the point where it had nearly got her killed. Twice by Geki. Who knows how many other times by other Sith. Then again she was in a somewhat unique position of being able to remake herself. Not that she would see it as much of an opportunity. "Alright then," he said at length. "Well whatever you need I'm here to help." Even as they walked though his datapad received a report from HQ. They would be coming in routinely now that he was a Commissioner. He had to make sure he struck a balance between CoreSec and Adenna. Flicking through it he frowned. Trouble in paradise.. The very centre of power too. Closing the tool he looked to the Jedi again. "So where is a map of this place? Your padawan could be anywhere and this place ain't small."
  5. Jazce had remained silent through most of the journey and the resultant council session. Not having a place to speak on Geki's madness, though he considered the man irredeemable the fact was he was going to follow Adenna's lead on this. Though he was concerned about some of her reactions... Or lack thereof. AS the council session ended he shook himself slightly. Whilst he could request additional support for CoreSec's SIth Taskforce he didn't feel it was necessary as the Wookiee Jedi Master appeared to be assisting them, besides if they wanted more Jedi on board they'd request the support through him. Besides which looking around he could see the Jedi needed to consolidate their own strength. Not scatter it amongst CoreSec. Though a part of him still mused at the odd turn of events that led a former Stormtrooper to be working with the Jedi. Turning to Adenna as the council went there separate ways he spoke for what felt like the first time in weeks. "Are you alright?" He didn't know what he was referencing. Her lack of emotions, the success of her mission here or perhaps the allocation of a new padawan. That was perhaps the most important factor of all, being so close on the heels of the loss of Sandy... Though apparently that could be reversed.
  6. ((That first one was a little ambiguous so I made sure to avoid possible confusion this time mate. Its all good.)) Jazce swore as the flash-bang didn't incapacitate his opponent. That was bad. He had been relying on the Jedi being too thoroughly disorientated by the bang to put up a good fight. Without his AI assistance he was far more vulnerable than he liked going in to a fight against a Jedi. But he was a Stormtrooper of the Imperial 501st Legion. One of the Elite of the Elite. He would prevail against this Jedi traitor and bring his corpse before the Emperor or die trying. The discipline his Regiment was legendary for held firm against the charge of one of the most fearsome Warriors the galaxy had ever known. Moving to the defensive his first reaction was to try and keep the Jedi at bay. Using his weapon's superior reach and mechanically enhanced speed and strength to repel the ferocious attack. But as anticipated even forceless the Jedi was still a superior swordsman. It was only a few instants before his outer layer of armour was covered in slashes and burns and sweat was rolling freely across his face at the pain of some of the deeper cuts. He needed to react. He stumbled to his side, a deeper score appearing in his chest. Suppressing a curse at the flash of pain he dodged back out of reach of the twin tonfa sabers for an instant. AI deficient he had no clear alternatives. But one very risky one. Fast as lightning he slapped his hand down on the Spy's Delight. Activating the blaster rifle for one last burst. Without the AI link or the Eveready nearby it couldn't do much else. Highly inaccurate but loud and bright and just as deadly if it got close enough. By his calculations they weren't in the lethal radius but they would be distracting at the least. An instant later he was charging. Using his vibrosword to batter one of the tonfas he released after an instant of impact. Enough to push it slightly away and give him the opening he needed, Continuing his charge forward he ignored the pain as the other cut in to him. Reaching out he pulled the Jedi close, his discipline pushing through the agony of the orange blade carving through his flesh his elbow came around, enhanced speed and strength beyond that of any normal being. The power and speed of a war droid with the accuracy of one of the best hand-to-hand fighters outside of the Echani. That deadly instrument of short ranged combat came around aiming to contact the base of the Jedi's neck. It was Victory or Death. Maybe even Victory and Death. ((3 - Good Luck old bean))
  7. As he pushed forward through the rough terrain his AI and HUD continued to process his movements and surrounds, occasionally tactical information would pop up. Not something anyone untrained in how to use his equipment would be able to process and sometimes even he had trouble but his training and discipline held and it paid off. One shot had been able to land though the AI judged that no penetration had occurred. He'd just have to get back on top of the initiative horse and keep pushing hard. If he allowed the Jedi room to breathe this situation would turn nasty fast. He needed to readjust his tactics, stumbling slightly on the rough ground he halted and took a knee. Continuing to maintain Charric fire at his opponent but cutting away the rifle fire as the distraction was now all but useless and as he closed it was possible he could get caught in the fire, he did keep his AI monitoring the rifle's feed though for any opportunity to conduct effect fire. Even as he set the neural mode a thought occurred to him. Just as a thought occurred to his opponent it seemed. A speeder rising up and being flung with lethal force at his position. The normal eye could have missed the micro-movements as the force took hold of the craft and lifted it. That was all that kept him alive. Jazce reacted instantly, diving towards the engagement's center. The speed and power of his movements great augmented by his suit. Had it not been for that he'd probably have been a smear. As it was his suit was too bulky to do a roll and he didn't want to risk damaging his Ysalamir pod he had to land on his front, hard to come up clean so instead Jazce sprawled on the ground some meters to his left. Losing valuable time in having to rise and reorientate himself to the Jedi from the ground instead of a role. Just in time to see the old man close with a weapon in each hand. His reaction was instantaneous and more than a little panicked. Those weapons would slice him like a Japanese Katana through warmed up butter except without the mess. Despite his air-condition he broke in to a sweat. He'd lost the initiative and now had to react to the Jedi's movements. Releasing his Charric immediately both his hands swung to his equipment. One ripping his vibroblade from its sheath and swinging it around in to a guard position. Against two weapons he'd have to keep his distance. The other pulling a flash grenade from his belt, activating it to detonate on impact and throwing it a meter to his front in one smooth, well trained motion. His speed enhanced by his armour he prepared to fight the Jedi even as the explosive detonated his AI having been linked to it shut down his helmet's sensory feed. Enclosing him for the milli-seconds of detonation in a black bubble of silence. Deadly but for the brilliant light and epic bang that lit up the outside world at his feet. Upon everything brightening again as the flash shorted out the AI's sensors and the dampening ended, returning him to a world ringing from the explosion of his explosive, his AI needed to reboot and diagnose itself but thankfully it didn't control the powered state of his suit otherwise he'd have been in a world of hurt. So it was just him against the Jedi now. He needed to close the gap and enclose the Jedi in the bubble of non-force as quickly as possible. Letting loose an Imperial Battlecry he charged. Vibroblade now held in an aggressive stance. ((2))
  8. Special Operations were well trained in how their enemies fought. They knew the capabilities and tactics of the force user. Especially the Jedi force user, almost as well as they knew their own. Even so sometimes he still had his breath taken away on occasion. Like when his opponent, after minutes of silence split in to three. Jazce braced himself, a bolt of fear going through him. Command had promised the Ysalamir would keep the Jedi out of his head! It seemed they had been wrong. This would be a suicide mission if that was the case. But then, when they nodded and Jazce prepped for the worst, they ran. Splitting in to three different directions. Was it possible? Even with his tactically horrible move the Jedi still wasn't fully aware of his location. For a moment the Stormtrooper was confused. If the Jedi was in his head he'd know where Jazce was so why run away? Unless... It was either some tactical move of untold brilliance on Darkfire's part of the Jedi really didn't know where he was and the illusions were physical not mental. That calmed him down. That was good. It spoke of an over-reliance on the force and not ones natural senses. He could use that to his advantage. He would have to. He was trained to leap on any weakness and in this fight he'd need every advantage he could get. He decided to go with a traditional attack. Four phases. But before them, reconnaissance. Hunkering back down he needed to use precious seconds to find his true target. He used the Spy's Delight to play back the last few seconds of activity from his helmet feed. Watching the now three targets he enhanced the visual. Looking for any differences. Only one was real. Only one could be. Somewhere in the illusion was an imperfection. Somewhere. But where? This Jedi was clearly more powerful than others. He'd never seen Jedi form actual, perfect physical illusions before. The dynamics were far more complex than mental delusions. The little of force dynamics his instructors had managed to impart. But they weren't perfect. At least he hoped not. He enhanced his audio feed. He could hear a mouse fart at a hundred meters. He'd also see the puff of heat through his thermals. What he didn't hear was footsteps from two of the targets. A grin spread across his cool air-conditioned face. He enhanced the visual even more. Concentrating on the feet. Two of those targets didn't leave trace of passage. Suggesting no weight being transferred. Physics at play. They also lacked proper thermal readings for a person. In this damp environment it was even easier to tell than normal. He had his fakes. He had his target. Phase one. The Advance to Contact. He knew the Jedi would be draining his resources on those illusions. So he wasn't in a huge rush to get close but he also knew that he couldn't afford to wait or the Jedi could formulate a battle plan to counter his Ysalamir. Or worse. Escape. He needed to get close. If he managed that, all the Jedi was, was an old man with a big stick.... Made out of light and energy and capable of slicing him to shreds with barely a hitch wielded by a man with vast stores of experience, almost inhuman physical conditioning and desperation onside. The same as him actually. Except he didn't have the fancy sword and wasn't covered in wrinkles. But how to do it? Random blaster fire wouldn't work. The Jedi would find a way to reflect one of those shots back at him and his armour was only powered, not powerful. It gave him access to tools far beyond the regular soldier. With his AI linked to the Spy's Delight it was a formidable weapon. Advanced electronics, supplemented physical capabilities, increased sensory capacity, weapon co-ordination and last but certainly not the least an air conditioner. To name a few anyway. The ability to fight on the field from a position that was not only a cool and well padded environment but also an unrivalled fighting platform was true civilisation. It wasn't resistant to lightsabers though. Some of his weapons were but his Armour was flawed in that aspect. He'd have to fix it. Maybe talk to the CQ about getting some better materials. He took a moment to formulate a plan. Another valuable few seconds out of those he'd already taken. He needed to move fast or the Jedi would have the initiative. Using the in-built head scratcher.. Just because he could he began judging the distance between him and his target. He looked at his own position and found a suitable spot, planting his ARC-9965 carefully adjusting and supporting the position. Giving it a small test before he pushed back from his position, moving till he was below visual before he started moving properly. Moving as low and as quietly as possible considering what he was stalking through, keeping his steps uneven from length, to weight to speed he activated his link to the rifle, and also to some of his grenades. He prepared both his pistols and loosened his vibroblade in its sheath. It was time to see what two Master's of their respective arts could do. The Jedi would have enhanced senses but Jazce hoped his own natural stealth plus the environment would shield him. Either way his next move would definitely help. He took a flash grenade out even as he drew his Charric and then sent the signal. Phase two, the firefight. Back at his old position the rifle opened up on the pile of speeder parts, linked to his helmet. On a fixed line the only difference between shots was the slight jump and shake of the position. It was only a matter of time before it degraded and fell. Irrelevant. The rifle was only going to be useful in the first few seconds as a distraction. Jazce rose instantly, the noise of the blaster fire hopefully covering anything he made as moved forward far louder than before, lobbing the flash in to the pile, it was linked to his AI, his suit would shield him from the detonation as it would control the blast pattern. He was still a little distance off. Only having covered maybe a quarter of the distance between the two of them but it was well within range, raising the Charric he unleashed a hail of fire from his new position, he'd moved around into an L. With any luck his rifle would have distracted the Jedi long enough for Jazce to get the jump. ((1))
  9. If your story is that of the good guy I will revert to my original nature. http://forums.jedi.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=43541 I will be equipped as per my character sheet as well. Story and positioning post as you wanted the first post. Lets have some fun --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The lone Imperial Special Operations trooper wasn't sure why he had been sent to this murky ruin. Some decrepit, stinking planet far from any tactical or commercial areas of any description. A relic of a war from a bygone era. A soldier of his merit might as well have been sent to Tatooine, it amounted to the same curse. But here he was, orders coming in from the very top. He didn't know who or why but he had been ordered here loaded for the fight of his life but here he was. His helmet filtering out the worst of the stink, this particular area wasn't so bad but his air well filtered yet still with a trace of corruption. Stalking through the terrain his armour no longer white but covered in Swamp filth to better camouflage him. The dirtied Power-Suit with imbedded Ysalamiri capsule would keep him hidden from the force as well as visual. Suddenly the AI attached to Spy's Delight became active. Motion detected, someone was nearby. His senses sharpening Jazce got low to the ground. Inching forward he considered his next move. He didn't want to encounter any Rakghouls but according to his HUD and suit sensors it wasn't the right profile. Human perhaps He doubted anyone would be here just at random. Moving in to the ruins of a tower he shifted around a puddle of slime, it was probably toxic. He didn't need that on his suit. Waiting he spied the target from afar. Using visual enhancers to identify his encounter. Human, male, older, dress... Distinctly Jedi. Concentrating on the face it was only moments before his AI sung out. Aryian Darkfire. Jedi Master. Enemy to the Empire. This was it. This was his mission. The man had returned to the scene of his crime. In a move completely opposite all his training and instinct he rose. Stepping forward. His voice enhanced by the suit. It wasn't normal to challenge a Jedi openly. It was in fact considered suicide by most of his brethren. But Jazce wasn't like them. He didn't just blindly follow orders then even more blindly fire. He had his own sense of Honour. He wouldn't kill this Jedi from the shadows. Either way the terrain wasn't suited to him. Too much stuff for the Jedi to throw at him. His only chance was to close to hand-to-hand. "Jedi Darkfire. You are a traitor to the Empire and will surrender immediately or I will face the Emperor's Justice. Lay down your arms and I promise you a swift and painless end."
  10. (Trying to post take 3 ) Jazce shook his head as the Sith moved away, probably heading back to wherever he came from. "What the ace is his problem?" The CoreSec LT said to himself. He didn't know much about the force but he certainly knew that he wasn't its greatest fan. He felt odd around these people. Almost like he was feeling other peoples emotions. There was something about that particular man. Vos Jazce was pretty sure his name was that rubbed him the wrong way above all of that. "Remind me to wear my special combat suit around that guy." He muttered to himself again before turning back to Adenna. "Alright Jedi Alluyen. I need to kack up and submit a report on this 'Raid' and I also need to start looking into your missing padawan and trying to track her down not through the use of hocus pocus magic tricks and aggressive attitudes. I'd invite you to fly with me on a ship that isn't most likely a rustbucket bought cheap on a planet owned by slavers up until a few hours ago but I suspect you won't like my decor. The offer is open however." Few force users did. "You can raise me on comms at any time me, the droid are going to get to work until you're ready to leave. Then we'll follow your lead. Until next time Jedi Alluyen." He offered a nod, with all his injuries it was as much as he could manage. He'd probably have a bacta bath when he got on board the Everready, he rather needed one. making his way through the rubble and destruction of left behind in the wake of the battle he made a mental note to request Coruscant aid in fixing up this situation. If perhaps the Galactic Alliance helped restore this place they would reconsider the neutrality issue. Putting his helmet back on his link with HK re-established he started the reporting process. First gathering all relevant data. The AI would take care of most of it, he would review it and put in personal input. HK was a well tuned machine and his AI was perhaps better then most of those analyst geeks back on 000. Ignoring an itching feeling from the back of his head the CoreSec LT continued to limp towards his ship when a new sound came to his attention. Blaster fire. Turning he frowned in the direction of one of the hangars. That itching feeling only getting stronger. As he watched a ship blasted off from the hangar. His eyes narrowed. His helmet recorded everything but he made sure to concentrate on that ship. He also sent a message to the CoreSec elements still orbital to do what they could in tracking it and gathering more information. This would go in the report. Shaking his head as a squad of CoreSec officers ran past Jazce continued on his way. Coming to the Everready he admired the ship for a second. Perfectly designed for undercover work. Even as he boarded it he felt more comfortable, the constant itching dissipated, and edgy feeling faded. He felt better. With a sigh he sat down in the main cabin, HK shuffling around doing his thing. A short while later the report finished Jazce transmitted it to 000.
  11. Jazce didn't need long to think about it. Back on 000 he was likely to be in a great deal of trouble for leading an all out assault on an unaligned planet's 'official' government. Even if slavery was not condoned in the Galactic Alliance the GA didn't try to quote to neutrals how they had to act. They simply tried to maintain control of their space. "In all honestly none of us expected anything like this. I'm going to put in the recommendation that we create a more large-scale type taskforce designed to deal with operations similar to this in the future. I doubt it'll fly with the Senate but at least Commissioner Fett and perhaps The Faceless Man should see some sense to it. The third Commissioner I haven't seen in a while... Regardless this situation is what it is." Turning he signalled HK. The droid trundled off to prepare the Everready which had after the fighting finished come down to the surface to assist evac the wounded. Waving to Tomas he made a mental note to get in touch with the man later. They had much to discuss. "I will assist you Jedi Alluyen. Not to hide. I will claim responsibility for my actions. But only after we rescue your young padawan from a fate fare worse than death. Your... Sith apprentice friend is right however. We need to get a move on. I can raise the fleet and go through local records to determine the ship that escaped and a vector which will give us roughly a few hundred planets if they went straight too. Otherwise we do it the hard way. Me and the droid scan through the databases. Dredge up as much information on this ship as possible and see if we get any hits from any of them."
  12. "Haha don't be naive Jedi Alluyen. No-one for a second is even going to consider the implications of the Galactic Disarmament Treaty on situations like this. They won't even entertain the thought that had it not been done this would have been over quicker. What they will say is I led an attack on the Slavers at the request of the Jedi. Casualties were high on our side and for local civilians and that Slaver ships escaped. Its all politics. Someone will more than likely use me as the fall guy so they can claim the credit without catching the flak. It was the right thing to do for the person who thinks they can claim the most political clout out of it." "I don't know about the Rebels but the Imperial Fleet certainly would have cleared up this situation with a great deal of ease. A single Star Destroyer in orbit or a Vic in the atmosphere. Precision fire support using Ion cannons instead of turbolasers and our own Armour supported by Stormtroopers. I'm not saying the slavers wouldn't have started killing slaves. But they would have known there was never going to be a chance of them winning. They may have surrendered or even fled." It was a bitter, pessimistic truth but a truth nevertheless. Even were the politicians not to descend on him chances were one of the Commissioners would have serious words with him. He hadn't expected the level of bloodshed here, and the slaver's brutal execution of the slaves only made it worse. His only hope was that only he was targeted, the Galaxy didn't need another reason to hate force users but if someone spun this the right way it could certainly be looked at in that light and raise tensions even further. "Corellia may try whatever they want. But for the moment CoreSec is in charge here and CoreSec's senior officials all still come from Coruscant. Only junior officers are recruited locally. That will change once we've settled in and earned our niche of the Galaxy and I'm not saying Corellia won't try something but you have to hope the Commissioners will step in if they do. Corellians are known for aggressive maneuvers."
  13. Jazce frowned, "Clearly Jedi Alluyen you have the wrong idea. We're CoreSec. Not CorSec. It sounds the same but its different. Core Worlds Security answers to Coruscant and the Senate. Not Corellia. This is the Corellian branch of CoreSec but the government of Corellia has no power here. Only CoreSec. I very much doubt politics will get involved here beyond credit taking and blame laying." Jazce looked to where a shuttle was landing, medics were preparing at least fifty casualties for transportation at this Casualty Collection Point alone. And that was only the worst hurt. He sighed, a touch sadness working its way into his head. Odd. As a Stormtrooper or Assassin he'd never felt emotions like that. It was part of the job. It was all that was the job. These men however were something else entirely. "The loss of life is atrocious and chances are its my head on the block for this operation but some things need to be done. That's why no-one wanted to do it. We're Police. Not an Army. Casualties like this are generally not acceptable. I suspect all the Commanders in this will be under review. It was my call though. My request." He looked back to the Jedi, "As to your Mandalorian friends... I'm not sure. I never went into the Headquarters building. I have no idea where they went as I never saw nor heard report of them outside. The Antarian Rangers might have seen them though. They usually see everything. We can always ask Captain Sairdonga. If they truely weren't in the thick of it anywhere that poses a lot of questions as to what they actually did this whole fight. I saw them earlier on my way in and they did have battle scoring on their Armour."
  14. Jazce's return to consciousness was heralded by a wave of pain, groaning the CoreSec agent opened his eyes. His visor flickered dully, damage reports floating around above his eyes. His head felt like it was getting torn apart by a trandoshan's bare hands. Made sense now. His skull was cracked and whilst the suit had started basic medical treatment it was too damaged to be particularly effective. Focusing past the damage reports and scattered information logs he looked around him. Rubble. He was buried alive. Wonderful. Swearing he began systematically checking his body. Completely pinned. The only reason he wasn't dead was due to his armour surviving impact and the rocks of the building not being heavy enough to crush him. He thought back to his last moments of consciousness before, Four standing by a wall shrugging, about to say something when the entire wall exploded in, clearly someone outside the building had seen fit to shoot it with something explosive. The rest of the footage was just rubble and dust raining with changed lifesigns from Jazce and an emergency beacon activated. That was almost half an hour ago. Medical procedures had been begun as well, pain-relief as well as trauma reduction and isolation. Jazce was lucky his suit had acted or it could have been far far worse. Returning to his present situation he began scanning for nearby life-signs. A group was directly above him less than a foot and if records were to judge by they were tunnelling directly towards him. He had only been a meter down at worst scenario anyway. A short while later hands pulled off the last of the rubble laying atop his helmet, brushing away the grit. "Surly I found him! Sir are you alright?" Jazce grimaced under his helmet. Seemed a fairly pointless question to a man found buried under a small building, "Fractured skull, broken left arm, several broken ribs. Legs are all kind of stressed but in one piece as is thankfully my back and right arm. No internal injuries sustained. I'm stuck here pretty good though. can't move." The soldier nodded, waving over some more of the searchers who quickly and carefully cleared Jazce of the rubble. "Sitrep?" He finally asked after being stood up. "Your friend is dead. We found his body first. Spine broken in over a dozen places, shrapnel struck so hard most of his body is torn to shreds. Wider situation is much better. Battle is over and CoreSec is just conducting clean up ops now. Finding casualties, mopping up final resistors and establishing comms with the local authorities. Don't know what the casualty list is but judging by my Company... Big. Commander Kel put out a call for your retrieval and immediate return to HQ by the way." Jazce nodded, thanked the non-com and sent him and his team on their way. There was a lot of clean up to conduct, he was only walking wounded. Didn't need an escort to HQ. Though even as he walked Two and Three appeared to escort him back. It looks like only Four had gotten unlucky today from his team... Their original One as well of course. Making his way to the HQ compound Jazce frowned at what he saw. Two of the Jedi were there (Adenna and Vos) as well as the two main Commanders from the group and a third unknown man wearing local colours. Perhaps a Resistance Leader? Either way Jazce made his way up to Kel and Sairdonga. "Sir, Captain. Whats the situation?" Kel shrugged, "Our one is fairly tightly under control. Biggest thing now is to count casualties and start getting boys back to Corellia. The Jedi however seem to have a bigger issue. One that needs attention. I'll leave that to you since you seem to love Jedi so much Leife. Just so you know two-hundred and twelve Agents are dead or missing. We haven't even taken count of wounded by Priority yet My guess. Another fifty will die before the day is out if we don't get them urgent medical attention upstairs." Jazce winced. Half the Corellian Chapter was gone. In one ugly battle gone. Was the freedom of this peasant planet worth it? He had to hope so. It was the only thing that would keep his head off the chopping block. Turning away from his Chain of Command with a brief nod to Tomas that promised another conversation later he moved to the two Jedi. "Well Jedi Alluyen. There you have it. Your planet is free."
  15. ------ Tomas Sairdonga ------ The floodlight kicking in was only a minor hassle, after a second of blindness the super-futuristic night operating equipment switched off turning into just a pair of vision enhancing goggles that could come in handy once they shot out that floodlight. Luckily for him and his men they'd switched the thing on before they had entered, only Adenna had caught the full effect of the floodlight in the open and she was capable of stopping blaster shots. Streaming in after the Rangers opened fire on the droids, aiming for the visual sensors and weapons of the hardened battle droids. Even so it was a bloody battle with one of his men going down before htey cleaned up the droids. Swearing as he scanned the room he issued the re-org order. He'd hoped not to have to do that this mission but it seemed the Slaver's had prepared for them. One of his Rangers checked the casualty. Still alive. Just. Prior One. Needed to evacuate him as soon as possible. "Three. Grab two and get him out of here. Take him back through the cleared zone to the CCP. Then gather as many as you can find. We need to storm this building." From multiple levels below him he could hear gunfights, screams and explosions from grenados as his men cleared the building. Hopefully those weren't the bad kind of screams. Turning to Adenna he nodded to the door leading to the rest of the floor, "Jedi Alluyen we should keep moving. Before the Slaver's start killing people." With that he shot out the light and darkness returned... ------ Kel ------ The Commander of CoreSec Land Operations smiled grimly. The fight was all but over. Enemy Armour gone. Remaining Infantry either retreating or dead. Plenty holed up in buildings under siege. It was still a bloody fight ahead of them but now it was mop up. They had the advantage. Fighter/Bombers were stepping up their strafing runs on Slaver targets as well. The Space Port, which seemed to be the center of Slaver retreat and resist plans judging by their fall back routes was the worst hit area. On the plus side they'd finally made contact with the local Resistance. The poor fools had charged in and tried to help. But they'd closed with the Armour. The Slaver Armour had cut them to pieces then Overwatch's cannons had blasted the rest to hell. The survivors however had managed to link up with his forces and a leader was being sent to him for further liaising. They were making the street battle a whole lot easier with their knowledge of the ground coming in handy and saving countless lives. They weren't half bad with their weapons either. Maybe CoreSec could recruit some after this. Heck he'd love to try poaching some of those Rangers if he didn't already know it was an exercise in futility. ------ Jazce Leife ------ Jazce ducked around the corner and kicked the twi'lek square in the gut, his dagger seeming to fly from its sheath into the unlucky beings throat. A strangled gasp as the full weight of his doom settled on him and Jazce was past, wrenching the dagger clear he ignored the hot spurt of blood as he flipped it over and flung it, catching the next Slaver in the chest. Not stopping his momentum he dove forward going into a roll and slamming into the dying Slaver's legs who came down in a tangle on top of him. Even as the Slaver fell blaster fire erupted overhead and at least two shots struck the already doomed being. Caught under him as he was Jazce just had to hope his two team members or the Sniper following Terra were able to provide cover for him. Turning under the Slaver he pushed the now lifeless body up, tearing free his dagger and rolling the body to try and keep it between him and the last Slaver. Even as he did so another shot rang out, burning a hole through the Armour on his leg and part of his leg. Grunting at the burst of pain he snarled and shoved the corpse forward even as another flurry opened up overhead and the final assailant died. Wincing as he levered himself into a sitting position he looked around the small room. They'd been moving towards the second location. At first their aim had been a Corvette in the Spaceport but then new Int had come in. Energy signals from some caverns a few klicks away. No big ships were in position to stop that one. Jazce on a funny whim had decided it would be his target. But now it didn't look like he was going anywhere. As Four came over and helped him up Jazce snarled again. That injury whilst not crippling wasn't going to make moving fast easy. It looked like they were going to have to let someone else rescue the Padawan. With any luck anyway. Limping over to where his weapon had been dropped he picked up the rifle. Unbeknownst to him outside the small house they had taken after it opened up on them a rocket team was taking aim, keeping their heads down and out of Three's sight. "That was fun. Lets do it again sometime Four. Only next time you be the bait." Chuckling Four shrugged and opened his mouth. Even as the wall behind him exploded spraying shrapnel chunks everywhere, the impact itself knocked them both to the ground and before Jazce could even utter yet another curse a small chunk of wall slammed violently into his helmet. Putting a sizable dent into it, cracking his skull and knocking him out cold... Darkness. Blessed Darkness. ((Duty calls chaps. I'll be back in about two weeks if this is still going on but until then I guess you're free to retrieve or leave my unconscious self as you see fit.. Not that most people would know about it.))
  16. ------ Team Eight ------ Deep within the labyrinth structure of the Slaver HQ a Ranger team booted in a door and lobbed in a grenade, a short boom and several seconds of blaster fire later the Team Leader grinned at what he found. It seemed they ha mangaed to stumble onto Plant Room for the structure. Activating his comm he transmitted to all the other teams. "All Callsigns this is Eight. Be advised, going dark in fifteen seconds." With that he nodded to his Number Two who sauntered up to the Control panel, locked out external control and after fifteen seconds turned off all the lights throughout the building, leaving the turbolifts running. Darkness reined within. Team Eight would hold this room. It was vital they maintained control of the power. ------ Tomas Sairdonga ------ At the comm from one of his teams Tomas nodded to his people and pulled out his own set of Night Fighting Goggles, luckily for Adenna it was a standard practise to carry one set of spare within every Team so she got one as well. With no lights they could adjust tactics. As darkness fell he got on the comm, "All Callsigns go light, push around enemy positions and make your way to the Emergency stairs. One you have the third floor, two you have the fourth floor, four you have the fifth floor, nine you have the sixth floor, six you have the seventh floor. Lets leave this fight to CoreSec, our primary objective is to secure the Slaves from further harm. See you chaps up top." With that he sent another brief command to the CoreSec Commander informing him of that and nodded to his team, they were right next to the Emergency stairs, no doubt they would have to clear the way up silentl and deadly. Without lights the Slavers were blind in those wells, his men with their NFE would have the advantage. From somewhere deep below an explosion shook the building, with a flash of surprise he was about to get on his comm when the group of Mandalorians appeared. He lowered his hand. A thought flickering across his mind briefly. He didn't trust the Mandalorians generally but that was because they had a habit of becoming Pirates or Slavers themselves. These ones were with them. The explosion however still raised questions. None of his troops were down there, CoreSec hadn't entered yet and Jazce had founf the Myster Helper which meant it was either the Slavers or the Mandalorians that did that exploding of stuff. But why? Whatever the case he had something more important to concentrate on. "Time to be trail beaker lads, Jedi Alluyen, Jedi Starlisk. We're going to the Eighth floor. If you're coming with us I recommend switching the lightsabers off until we reach our objective they'll give us away and we want this to be done as quickly and silently as possible. Mandalorians. It would be an Honour if you joined us for the fight upstairs." With that like a quartet of ghosts the four men silently disappeared and reappeared at the stairs, entering and beginning the long climb to the eighth floor. On the second floor they ran into the first Slaver opposition. It seemed the Slavers had set up an E-Web, had the Slaver's not been caught out by the loss of light it would have worked too. They'd have massacred the Ranger's as they climbed the stairs. With a vicious smile Tomas flung his knife, the blade burying itself to its hilt in the throat of a Slaver before silently he and his men charged up the stairs, daggers out they quickly butchered the first barricade. Luckily for them none here could see in the dark, they couldn't continue to rely on that though. They could however rely on the Slaver's not believing they needed more than a few checkpoints on these stairs. Few were insane enough to fight an uphill battle against E-Webs. Few would split there forces so thin as to take every floor. Few were Antarian Rangers fighting in the dark. Turning to his troops he signalled as they recovered their weaponry. Time to clear till they got to the top. Trail Breakers. ------ Jazce Leife ------ Jazce swore as a blaster fire pinged off the rubble around him, he and his men, still the spear head though now CoreSec Blackhats had caught up with Armour busting equipment. The platoon sized group had been engaged by a group of Slavers and at first they'd simply traded fire, jockeying for position but now Jazce was getting the idea they were protecting something. They were giving no ground whatsoever, they held that line of buildings just before the Spaceport. Did they have ships left perhaps? This place had been particularly punished by both Cruiser fire and Air Strikes. Pushing himself further down into the rubble he signalled his team and they made their way down out of the ruined building, leaving the Black Hat section behind to continue the engagement. Suddenly his comm chirped, "Leife this is Sunray. We caught a transmission from Jedi Vos to Jedi Alluyen. Seems the Slavers got hold of Alluyen's padawan. If so they'll be trying to get off planet. I need you to track them down and get her back. We have Overwatch found a Corvette previously missed. Its hiding right now but we've got a Corellian Gunship ready to pound it to smithereens if it tries to lift off. You know what to do." Jazce nodded, "Roger Sunray. Leife Out." Not RaTell but it would do. Receiving the update with the Slaver Corvette Golden Ark marked on it, sending the update to the Echani Angel of Death he got on the comm he addressed his entire team and the Echani Angel of Death, "Seems our freinds lost a VIP to some Slaver's who's probable destination we believe is this Corvette. Our job is to intercept and retrieve her before they get away, worst comes to worst we infiltrate the Corvette before it leaves planet and work the rest out later." With that the CorSec Agent loped off through the half destroyed city, keeping to the shadows and destroyed buildings he and his brick would find that Corvette and rescue that girl. They couldn't allow a Jedi to be taken prisoner.
  17. ------ Kel (CoreSec Commander) ------ Kel snarled in frustration as new reports came in, this time of local Security Force's both attacking the Slavers, which was good, attacking CoreSec which was bad and attacking eachother... Which to be honest he could care less about right now, he had more than enough fight on his plate. But the problem they had identified with the Orbital Bombardment was definitely a concern, "Overwatch this is Sunray, cease all Orbital Bombardment. Bring the Swift Justice down to just out of effective range for those AAs and commence pinpoint strikes on the AAs only. I say again pinpoint strikes on the AAs only. Ground will mark the targets. Acknowledge over." "Sunray, Overwatch. Acknowledged. Ceasing Indirect fire support, switching to to Direct Fire Support on marked AA targets only over." "Overwatch, Sunray roger out." Tapping his Company Signaller he requested a Company wide channel, "All units this is Sunray, be advised Orbital strikes going offline. We will have pinpoint surgical strikes for marked AA targets, once your sector is clear fighters will commence runs on the Slavers. Also IRT these brown shirts, Red bands you are to liaise with and form into your Orbat. Yellows are shoot on sight. Out." Turning away as the Signaller responded to numerous requests and queries Kel inspected the progress of his people. According to the battlespace map his forces had cleared the immediate surrounds out to a click and had formed a solid perimeter, with rather ugly casualties. It was just a matter of waiting for the Rangers and the Jedi to cut the heads off the Snake and weather out the storm.. But that Armour would be problematic. Getting back on the Task Force comm, "Overwatch, Sunray. Requesting Anti-Armour weaponry on the ground over." "Roger. Its on the way. Three mikes, primary LZ out" Good, in a matter of minutes his troops would have the weaponry required to defeat that Armour. In this urban environment the initiative belonged to the mobile Section and Platoon tactics of CoreSec rather than the heavy tanks of the Slavers. ------- Tomas (Antarian Ranger Captain) ------- They'd cleared four rooms by the time they encountered Adenna. So far thankfully they'd only taken minor injuries, a few cuts and bruises, nothing that even graded a Prior Three injury but as they blew the door in and charged the room, gunning down the E-Web Tomas knew they were about to go from the thick of the front to behind enemy lines without the stealth part. "Roger that ma'am. That turbolift will take us straight there. Squad on me. Two, Three tear off that door. Four help me with this E-Web." Working quickly the small team secured the turbolift, jury-rigged the door inside as additional cover and set the E-Web up behind it for extra firepower. They would go in guns blazing. The turbolift had the potential to be a choke-point, he didn't want to be in that kind of a death-trap if he could help it. "Ma'am so as you are aware the general breach plan is to pop grenades off then clear the room, this will be different. We're going to open up, throw in some stun grenades, stay down behind our door then when the grenades go boom pop up and lay down heavy fire. Then from there slow and steady clearance of the facility. Unless of course you have your own way you prefer to work." -------- Jazce Leife -------- Jazce swore mentally as the figure took off her helmet. He hadn't known what to expect, but in such a ruthless killer one never expected a... Seventeen? Year old with such Angelic features. Even sweat covered as she was. Was there Echani in that? He'd thought they'd all died out during the Mandalorian Wars. Obviously not. But what was worse than that. When she took off her mask. He felt her. Almost as if he were some kind of... Radar. Not the groping kind either. Something about her. She intrigued him. She scared him. That was saying something considering how he was. Not her, herself. Something about her. It just sent a shiver up his spine, it felt... Dark. Even without her charred armour, powerful rifle and gore covered arms he'd have known she was something else. But this was entirely knew. That Force thing perhaps? I'm never going anywhere ever gain without my Power Armour. Jazce simply watched her turn and climb up onto the roofs, he would ensure he spoke to her later. This girl would not escape him. He would hunt her down to the ends of the galaxy if he had too. Signalling a regroup he turned as his men closed in around him. "Is this a good idea One? That girl gives me the heebeegeebees. Looks like an Angel of Death, I've seen Rangers that scare me less. Hell Two scares me less." "Eat me Four." Creeps me out too Four. But there is something about her... I need to know. Just then two things happened at once, his battlemap got updated and the Echani Angel of Death... Which he would call her for wont of her actual name commed in, ”œThe slaver advance has been stalled. I see one Sith amongst the ruins, being pursued by AT-PTs. Fighting in the area has slowed significantly. I'll be intervening.”
  18. ------ Kel (CoreSec Commander) ------ His immediate actions upon hitting the ground had been to set up a small Forward Command Post, now the Commander of all CoreSec Force's on the ground, now closeted in a small, half destroyed building with some Comd & Sig equipment buzzing the man swore heavily as reports of Heavy Tanks supported by AP and AA Mechs moving in started rocketing. If they were allowed free rein it could roll back the entire Assault which would lead to massive casualties amongst the CoreSec forces. Unluckily for the Slavers when Jazce had begun organising the Black Hats he'd done it in a severely militaristic fashion and having received Leife's updated battlespace map he had a fair idea of what to do. Tapping one of his Sigs on the shoulder he grabbed the Battlegroup Comms and raised Overwatch. "Overwatch this is Sunray. Be advised several Fire Missions incoming from Ground Teams, Over." "Sunray this is Overwatch roger over." "Overwatch, Sunray roger out." With that he switched to the Sig holding Company Comms, "All Callsigns this is Sunray, you are comms clear for Firemission requests to Overwatch. Burn that Armour to shreds. Out." A grim smile appeared on his face as a seconds later he heard the tremendous detonations of turbolasers striking targets. His men knew what to do, those tanks and the escorts would be toasted metal within five minutes. Then the CoreSec ground teams could continue pushing back the Slavers. ------- Tomas (Antarian Ranger Captain) ------- Tomas lay on the second floor of yet another half destroyed building, next to a pair of his Snipers, the rest of his brick somewhere behind him, designating window targets, so far they'd manage to shoot several Slaver's trying to hide behind their Slaves. But then he saw something that almost took his breath away. One of the Jedi, the one leading this Operation he thought, charged straight into the building without Support. Years ago the primary mandate of his Organisation had been to Support the Jedi... Time to do that again. "You two, stay here provide cover." Leife had commandeered one of his teams, another two had been rendered ineffective due to casualties. Those would gather at this location to provide protection and begin a Casualty Collection Point. This Coalition badly needed one from what he'd seen of CoreSec's losses. Regardless he had six teams ready to enter the HQ structure and begin a room to room clearance of the entire building. It would be a Slaver turkey shoot if he had his way. Getting on the Comm he snapped out instructions, "1,2,4 provide cover for 6, 8 and 9. Enter and begin clearing that building. When 6, 8 and 9 make a hole 1, 2 and 4 break in. Snipers continue covering, 3 and 5 form up on this loc and start stabilising casualties." And with that he signalled his own team to follow him in leading the charge. Briefly pausing as turbolaser fire began raining down somewhere in the distance. Making his way downstairs they skipped through the ruins into the calm before the storm, that final barricade before the mad rush to the HQ. Nodding one last time to his people he waited for that slap on his shoulder, even as the tempo of fire outside increased as Ranger's covered their mates charge he rushed forward, the structure looming before him with laser fire criss-crossing between it and the rest of the battleground. For a few seconds all he heard was his pounding footsteps, the heavy thump of his hear and the harsh rasp of his breath under his helmet before after an eternity or close to he thumped against the side of the structure. Behind him three identical thumps. If only the rest of his troops could be so lucky. Another tell-tale slap and he moved to the door, checking the mechanism. Signalling his brick he got a stun grenade ready. One man moved around and at a nod levelled a solid shot straight into the locking mechanism followed by a boot to open up the door even as he dove to the side to avoid any return fire, pelting the grenade around the corner he waited listening to the scramble inside followed by a whump and howls, rifle up he charged into the room, gunning down the two disorientated Slaver's in his sector, shots from around the room indicated his brick was doing the same. "DOOR, ON ME" Came the call from one his troops, keeping his arcs the Ranger piled up against the next door, wincing slightly as he saw the E-Web set-up to drill anyone trying to charge through that door en-mass, this time third in line he waited for the call even as they set to breach the next room he got on the comm breezing through a number of reports of breach, "Jedi Alluyen this is Captain Sairdonga, we have breached the ground floor in multiple locations, working our way to your position." With that he tapped the shoulder of the number two. Time to go again. -------- Jazce Leife -------- Jazce grunted as he tore the vibro-dagger out of the throat of the now dying rodain, even as he pulled it clear he flung it at a charging Togorian who even though he now had a vibro-dagger sticking out of his chest continued to charge, swearing the CoreSec Lieutenant flung himself backwards, his hand snapping to his pistol holstered at his hip coming up he snapped off a trio of shots, the first one going wide, the second low and slight right catching the Togorian in the hip, swinging him partway around just in time to catch the third shot in the side of the head instead of the front, flinging the giant creature to crash into the wall, plowing straight through the crumbled duracrete into the street. Not stopping to think he swung around pistol up. Unloading another round into a Gamorrean that was trying to rip of one his Ranger's to pieces, that man had up until now played quite the game of escape and evade but was running out of options, his rifle a few meters away separated from him when the ambush opened up, two shots to the head closed that case. The Slaver collapsing, his head still partially there. "Come on. Grenade that hole and lets grab the other two!" Jazce said, indicating the trapdoor. Holstering the pistol he picked up his own rifle, and raced up the stairs onto the half destroyed second floor, from here they could see the first two members of the team were still where they had left them. Pinned down by a sniper. Somewhere behind him a muffled thump from the grenade indicated the ending of the threat from that trapdoor. Resistance had been much heavier than expected. Whilst the they knew it would be a fight they hadn't anticipated trapdoors filled with Slaver's popping out. They had made flanking these Sniper positions difficult. Gunning down the spotter and his mate hiding upstairs Jazce got a bead on the Snipers. "Three marks, located tower, fourth floor. Antigo Apartments third floor, second window from the right and another tower, eighth floor. That one has an E-Web with him. You take Antigo and small tower I got big tower and E-Web. On three." Six seconds later all three snipers lay dead. Disintegrating in expanding clouds of bone, blood and brain. High Powered laser rifles did that. He'd also targeted the E-Web's generator. It had detonated taking part of the tower with it. Looking around he noted an AT-PT manoeuvring through the streets towards them. Nodding to his wing the Former Ranger and his still Rangering compadre leaped from the second floor, rolling as they hit the ground and pelting to the other side of the street where they met up with the other pair. It was time to keep moving to the Mystery Helper who judging by the amount of dead Slaver's they'd spotted on the roof over the last clock of the fight was either still alive or had been very busy earlier. Stacking up Jazce led the way down the street, indicated one man get his Sixty-Six ready. Somewhere in the distance he noted turbolaser fire striking ground. It sounded like Overwatch was finally getting pointed at things it could shoot. Taking his mind back to the present the four Ranger's found firing positions on both sides of the street down towards where the AT-PT should be coming from. Biding their time. They could hear it. The whir and thud of large metallic feet. Before it appeared though its escort did. Slaver's rushed around the corner into the the cross-fire Jazce had laid out for them, his man with the Sixty-Six keeping his weapon ready. The Slaver's charged and ferociously, some getting as close as ten meters away before either falling or going to cover yet for naught even as the Mech rounded the corner the call came and with a roar the rocket launcher went off. Its small projectile. Ideal for destroying lightly armoured targets plunged forward straight into the cabin of the Mech. The detonation tearing the vehicle to pieces and signalling the retreat of the Slavers. Even as they fell back however it happened. A small lithe figure wearing familiar armour stepped out and killed a Slaver hiding behind some garbage disposal containers less then ten meters in front of them. He recognised the frame. It was the same person as had fallen from the tower. Their Mystery Helper. The person they had launched this impromptu rescue mission to find. Not that it appeared they needed rescuing. Though it was rather charred. Upon sighting this small, yet rather dark and ominous creature his HUD's data packing went off the chart. It seemed they had quite the catch here. Anti-Matter Rifle, VIbro-blade attached to army. Professional? Surely. Merc? Unlikely. Not many Mercs were THIS professional. "Three. Four. Secure the street. Two cover rear. We have our Mystery." Staring straight into the Golden T Jazce felt a slight shiver run up his spine. There was something about all of this. An absence almost. He'd work it out later. Shaking his head he indicated the battle behind them. But what did one say in this situation...? Even as Three and Four pushed down the street to better cover positions and Two moved to another position behind him he approached the figure. "I'd love to chat but I can virtually feel the Sniper's lining up to have a shot at the title. We need to move to safety. Are you willing to come with us?" Risky move as he didn't know who or what or why or anything but this really wasn't the place to have that discussion and judging by the string of corpse's he'd seen he didn't want to try a battlefield arrest right now when he had Slaver's on his tail.
  19. Jazce swore as suddenly he and the lead Ranger were covered in blood and pieces of a Togorian, his other reason for swearing however was the crack that he assumed had killed the Togorian followed by several more cracks that struck in at close range, this time however he kept his head down. Jazce was a man who knew his rifles and that was an extremely powerful shot. But no light blast? Slugthrower? Who on earth used slugthrowers these days? Unless... They were trying to kill lightsaber wielders? Perhaps. ”œThis is Overwatch! You have a group of Slavers and Nekks incoming from the west side of the ruins, behind your positions. From the east side of the city, outside your perimeter and closing fast, I count eight Canderous-class assault tanks, each supported by... Two AT-PTs, and two AT-AAs. They'll make swift work of your fighter screen and your perimeter... Recommending an atmospheric bombardment at these coordinates.”
  20. Jazce dressed into his old modified Stormtrooper battlesuit. After he'd given his spiel to Adenna and the others he'd moved off to check with the Company Commander of his own Unit and the Toprawan Ranger's Captain. It was standing with them that he witnessed the mad headlong descent. Whilst the CoreSec Security Squadrons were rolling up the Slaver's cobbled together uglies Jazce was still wary of the amount of resistance. Moving up behind the sensors station he watched the battle unfold as they descended. Noting everything. As he'd spent most of the hyperspace trip going over any and all information they had of the ground their troops would be covering he knew the basics fairly well. It was just any modifications the Slavers had made he wouldn't know. But even as the CoreSec Officer studied the sensor data incoming he noted an oddity. A single ship, not part of the fleet had appeared from hyperspace and engaged the Slavers. From the intel they were getting it appeared to be some kind of modified Imperial Shuttle... But so heavily armed? A Delta maybe? Who in the force is it? More importantly what are they doing here helping us? Even as her watched the shuttle descended somewhere below them into the mayhem of Thalassia's surface. He would just have to send a team out to find it later. He didn't like oddities. Frowning he began checking his equipment one last time as the troop transports began moving forward. Everything seemed to be running so smoothly yet why was his skin crawling? Shaking his head clear he braced as they hit atmosphere. And turned to study the new readings from the surface. It was unmitigated chaos down there. Flurries of AA fire rising to meet the descending shuttles. Interrupted by fighter/bombers strafing their hides. For the most part they were right on course, getting eyes on the HQ compound Jazce scanned the area and frowned at what appeared to be the tail end of a thermal blast somewhere on the fringes of where the fighting would be once they landed. Another oddity? The mystery helper? Unknown. Regardless Jazce didn't like it. He wanted this mystery solved. Turning to the two Officer's standing next to him relaying last second orders to their troops Jazce indicated the sensors, "Kel. You and your chaps be careful. Their is something else going on down there. We caught the tail end of an explosion in the Golf gridsquare. Wasn't us. Might have been Slaver's being fratricidal or just plain old suicidal but I somehow doubt it. Send a Section to check it out once the fighting dims down. Make sure they have fighter support." Nodding one final time to his right hand man he moved off, the other man, an Antarian Ranger Captain by way of Tomas Sairdonga, "Captain Sairdonga though I left on less than friendly terms you came to help. I appreciate that... And I want to make things right with Home. But this is not the time and place. I just wanted you to know my thoughts. We hit dirt. The Antarian Ranger's do what we do best." "Complete and utter mayhem Lieutenant, and so you are aware you never truly left home Ranger. Not in the hearts and minds of your brethren." Turning away the CoreSec LT strode over to the ramp, it would be another thirty seconds yet before they hit dirt but he couldn't stay talking to that old Ranger. It would cloud his mind when he needed it clearest. Counting down the seconds he nodded to the Gunnery Captain of the ship, his gunner's would be vital to ensuring the safety of the rapidly disembarking CoreSec and Co. Putting on his Modified Scout Helmet he HUDed up with his 2iC and the Ranger Captain. Bringing his comms to life and rifle around he did one final checked then set it to action. "Time to make some memories." He muttered to himself, bracing as the five seconds call came out and a thump echoed through the ship even as the the entire thing began vibrating as the heavy guns went into overdrive, destroying anything Slaver as the gangway thumped down. With a surge the former Stormtrooper rushed forward, coming onto the ramp and diving off it to the right, catching a glimpse through his HUD of a small transport exploding in flame and shrapnel. Ten good men and women gone. Landing with a roll he came up and dived for cover, shucking up against the remains of a building as the roar of battle overtook him. Somewhere in the back of his helmet a comm report came in from the Sector Commander that the Fleet was pushing the Slaver's back and had increased its strafing tempo, but on the ground all was chaos as the Slaver's brought out the hardware in an all out counter to stop CoreSec gaining any purchase or breathing space. Even then reports started flooding in of teams hitting dirt and pushing back. The perimeter was being formed. Popping his head up he quickly surveyed the situation around him, the Rangers and the Jedi had all descended and the Platoon of Black Hats was part of the way through, half embedded into the ground the other half still diving off their shuttles under E-Web fire. Pulling his head back down he got on the comm, "All units push forward, clear the ships get into the ruins." As he clipped off his sentence some rogue fire came his way ducking back down he hissed. Too close. The Slaver's had them well pinned. Not that it stopped the Ranger's who like a well oiled machine slid forward, hoeing into the Slaver position. Three thumps behind him indicated reinforcements, turning to loop a trio of Toprawan Rangers. Grimly nodded to him, the lead slapping him on the shoulder. He grinned at the old signal come back to haunt him. Time to fire and move.
  21. Like a vast wave of pebbles striking water the CoreSec Sector Security Fleet flickered into being. Pseudo-motion pushing everything from Fighters to Pickets and System Security Corvettes turned troop transports into the space above Thalassia. Whilst a formidable force unto itself. The strongest assembled since the mass disarmament of the Republic and Imperial Armed Services the pirates themselves were fairly well armed. Following standard tactics of course CoreSec after careful recon, utilising the Antarian Rangers had come up with a battle plan and reasonable force parameters. Turning to the Commander of the Task Force. A veteran of one of the two great power's fleets and a remnant of the real Fleet Action Officers. Turning to the Commander Jazce nodded. "Thank You again Sir for assisting with this mission." The older man sighed, "Leife. Were it not for your pull with Coruscant I would never have agreed to going so far out of our jurisdiction. Regardless about how I feel about the situation. But remember. It is your tush on the line. This goes wrong. I'm going to have you executed... Painfully." Jacze grinned at that. If this went wrong they would all be dead. "Roger that. I'm going to confer with my colleagues and get the Strike Team under-way. Good luck Chief." His only reply a sour grunt followed by barked commands to the Command crew Jazce turned away and headed over to Adenna, Sandy and whoever else so happened to be standing around at the time. "Alrighty chaps here we go. The main Battle Group will engage the pirates. They will cause enough confusion for our Strike Team to filter down to the surface and hit the Pirate HQ. Task Force Anvil consisting of the CoreSec Black-Hats will form a perimeter and keep out any baddies. Strike Force Hammer consisting of the Antarian Rangers, Mandalorians and our various friends will strike into the HQ and eliminate the Pirate headshed. Hopefully that will cause enough confusion for our boys to roll back the Pirates and mop them. Sound good?"

Jacze nodded to Adenna and got to work. He had a lot of work to do. Firstly mobilising his own Task Group then getting in touch with the Toprawan's to mobilise as well. Finally, if Adenna's numbers were correct he would need to request whatever aid he possibly could to assist in the situation. A hundred and thirty-one Law Enforcement Officers just wouldn't be enough. Taking out his comm he got on the line with Command. Time to see if his credit card still worked eh.

Jazce shrugged, "Well my Team is made up of the best agents I could find in CoreSec, slected them personally. You won't find any better without going into Professional Merc or Ex-Military. Most of which these chaps are." Looking around he assessed the present Company. It seemed at least a few were Mandoalorians, and the rest were either random Mercs or Jedi. Whilst he wasn't completely sure he liked the idea of working with the Jedi... Or any Force-Users for that matter he would reserve judgement for when they were in the field. The Mandalorians on the other hand were something else. He had worked with Mandalorians in CoreSec. Solid Opos. "The Others on the other hand are quite something else. Antarian Rangers. They heard CoreSec was in charge of Galactic Security... Or at least Core Security and they sent a Troop over. Luckily they were from the Toprawan branch and they got in touch with me. I used to be one of them see. They'll follow my lead." He wasn't sure why they did decide to get in touch with him. He had been a Full Ranger when he'd left the Order and went Pirate Hunting in vengeance. He'd thought the Order had left him behind long ago. Maybe he had been wrong. But the secret communiqué indicated otherwise.

Jazce shrugged and looked over his shoulder. Bob was nowhere in sight. It wouldn't do for the local branch to have put a watchdog on him and him not know about it right. "Negative. The answer remains the same. CoreSec cannot get involved with an incident outside our jurisdiction. I'm sorry ma'am but CoreSec can't assist you." All that was said in a matter-of-fact, almost flippant tone. Jazce himself had decided long before now what he was going to do though. Suddenly his voice got serious. "I do apologise Miss Alluyen. I know how this must feel. My own Home is a Rim World and has been brutalised before. My own Family has suffered losses due to this.. But the Law is the Law. Its very strict on this. I'm sorry." Leaning in he spoke a bit quieter just to her, "I. On the other hand don't believe in jurisdiction, or lines, or boundaries. I believe in Justice, through the Law and all its red tape when possible. But by whatever means necessary when the red tape will see a criminal free. If that means I have to be that Rogue in the Dark so be it. Me and my Task Group will aid you. Along with a few... Others." He didn't say it out loud but the thought rung clear through his mind. Trust me lass. My mates will remove your slavers from the equation. Permanently.

Jazce checked his wristlink. A cantina in Coronet was meet point it seemed. Looks like it was time to get to work. Tapping into his wristlink he alerted his teams to check gear and prep for a possible Operation. Whilst strictly speaking he wasn't allowed to operate outside his jurisdiction Jazce wasn't well know for following the red tape road. Nodding to the Chief Clerk he made his way out of the man's office, missing the sI am a racist and headed towards the transport yard, any old CoreSec cruiser would do. Quicker anyway, didn't have to worry about parking. Comming ahead his request he met a cruiser at the front door with a Constable behind the wheel, his ride into town, nodding at the man he checked his equipment quickly before hopping in. Whilst not expecting trouble it wouldn't do to be caught off-guard now would it. Comming HK to inform him of his destination and keep the Everready primed he told the Constable the location that he'd been sent and with a sour grunt they were off. A short, very uneventful and creepily silent trip later the Cruiser was setting down outside the joint. Stepping out Jazce surveyed the area, he'd spent the flight over doing map recon and learning as much about the area as he could but that didn't compare to getting the visual oneself. Turning to the Constable, who Jazce had decided to call Bob, "Thanks for the ride Bob, wait here. Try not to talk yourself into trouble... And don't touch anything." With a grin at the sour expression turning to outrage he turned and walked into the bar. Upon entry he stayed to the shadows, surveying the crowd, it was a rush job sure but he had his habits. Finally once satisfied he strode over to the person the datadisc had identified as Adenna Alluyen. Not bad looking in person I must say. I might enjoy working with her and her friends. He thought to himself. On approach however the CoreSec Agent felt a shiver run up his spine. I got a bad feeling about this. Mostly it seemed to be stemming from some of her companions. Not Jedi are they? Pah Jedi annoy me Regardless, "Miss Alluyen. Lieutenant Jazce Leife, CoreSec Headquarters." Now maybe he could get a good grasp on this situation, less than half an hour ago when he'd been talking to the Chief the man had been most unhelpful.
