  1. Ads listened to Halo's answer, and then...nothing. He was simply awkwardly ignored and then Koovo had them follow him to the training room. But Ads had no idea what was going on, so he turned back to Halo. "But who is this guy and what's going on?"
  2. Ads realized that he was actually awake? Because he could have sworn he had been asleep, but upon taking a closer look, he realized that he had actually been awake for a while. So he stepped into the hall, where three people were talking. "What'd I miss, guys?"
  3. While, Ads was asleep, had this totally awesome dream where he was doing something...something really cool, but what was it? He'd never remember after he woke up. How sad was that? Especially because he hadn't been dreaming. His mind had actually entered a different dimension and was appointed King of Everyone because everyone loved him because he could do awesome things and was the coolest and best-looking and most-liked person there. It was a shame that he would never remember his dream because it was all that ever existed of a separate universe. And it all actually happened. Probably.
  4. When it was morning, Ads woke up and got ready for the day ahead. He got dressed, ate breakfast, and then went to wherever the padawans and Joreel were meeting. Luckily, he went to the correct place, because he did not know where to go because he hadn't been told. To be honest, Ads had probably actually slept for too long, because he slept for a really long time. But luckily, with all of the advances that had been made in the last 25,000 years since FTL travel was pioneered and the Republic was started, that didn't matter at all because even sleep wasn't necessary because I mean, come on, they'd had FTL travel for 25 millennia, there's no way they hadn't figured out some sort of drug or something that rendered sleep unnecessary. But everybody still did it because, come on again, life would drag on for waaaay too long without spending a third of your life asleep. Especially given all of the advances in medicine in the previous thousands upon thousands of years, because lifespans must have been increased by a bunch. So, yeah.
  5. And then Ads continued to sleep.
  6. "I will be open to instructing you more in a one on one scenario, teaching you special ops and other abilities the Jedi Order, the Mandalorians and others had shown me that led me to where I am today." Ads couldn't help but smile and give a quick nod, giving a wordless "all right!" in response to Joreel's offer. When he heard what came next, his day only got better. Finally, he thought, I won't have to wait for and frozen, catatonic masters to train me. I'll be a knight, and then I'll get to receive even more training. Sounds awesome. "Sounds awesome!" he vocalized, realizing that it wouldn't really do any good for him to continue standing silently. When they were dismissed, he made his way back to his quarters and watched holovids until he simply couldn't keep his eyes open anymore and he drifted off to reenergize over a very restful night of sleep.
  7. Ads couldn't help but grimace at the deterioration that the lesson was quickly undergoinig. It was ugly. What had been a relatively normal lesson between a knight and his three adult padawans was quickly becoming nothing but bickering and alleged ethical misconduct (along with the necessary allegations of ethical misconduct). Ads wasn't really sure what to do, as he wasn't really part of the disagreements, and Adrian seemed to have put an abrupt end to the discussion (if you want to call it that). So, he simply picked up one of the chips and pushed away one of the rocks. Ads couldn't help but wonder why they were doing such a simple exercise...it's too simple...
  8. ((I was thinking of doing this when I was reading about Adrian being disappointed Joreel had missed his successful attempt. I'm glad he did what he did next as it gave me more material )) Joreel seemed quite disappointed by his padawans. It was rough to watch as he chastised Adrian and then Halo. Ads knew his turn was next, and tried to prepare himself for the verbal lashing...that never came. Obviously, he knew that once was enough for Ads, especially with Ads viewing the scene that had just played out before him. Joreel's face softened before he spoke to the entire group. "You three need to work together, support each other, like a family. You are borthers and sisters and while you may bicker, you should find it within yourselves to care for one another, protect and uplift each other. Your brother Adrian is having some trouble grasping this task of telekinesis. Let us help him like a family, support him so that he might use his brilliant mind to accomplish this task. "Ads, Halo. Lift up a piece of rubble and keep it held in the Force. Levitate it, and hold it there." He continued to tell Adrian some BS that Ads knew Adrian didn't have to hear. He'd just caused a large boulder to crash to the ground, a rather impressive feat for such a newcomer, if you don't mind my saying so. And if you do, it was still rather impressive. Anyway, Ads picked up a smallish piece of rubble, one that only really required him to expend a cursory effort to keep aloft as he watched Adrian. He knew that he didn't have to do anything to help the other padawan, so he didn't see any issue with simply going through the motions as he watched. And he did watch. And watch, and watch, and watch. Adrian was definitely taking his time. Ads had a sneaking suspicion that Adrian had something up his sleeve, but it was only just enough to keep his interest. After probably seven minutes--ten minutes, max--Ads sat down, as his attention was waning. Not enough to make him stop looking, but perhaps enough that he was no longer actively watching. As his mind began to wander, he allowed the piece of rubble he was levitating to drop, effecting only a muffled thud as it landed on a soft, grassy patch. Ads was quickly snapped out of his daydreams as the boulder at which he had been staring blankly launched into the sky. Ads chuckled, enjoying Adrian's work. Even if it took a quarter of an hour. It's not like there was anything else for Ads to do.
  9. Not long after Ads and Halo arrived, Adrian also came to the ruins. Once the three of them had caught their breath, Joreel Ordo began to speak to them with a smile gracing his face. "A fundamental Jedi skill is telekinesis. The ability, as you can see, to freely move objects, or people in some cases, in any space you see fit. The larger the object, the more will and constitution in your ability it requires to hold and move about. It takes a while to Master, but it is a necessary skill that once learned, won't ever be forgotten. Each of you, pick a piece of the ruin, and then, go ahead and attempt to lift it into the air using nothing but the Force. Just like you reached out to feel my presence you can reach out to the stone and ally with the Force to have it sorround the debris and lift it as you need it to, into the air." As Joreel spoke, he liifted some of the debris into the air and then set them down as a demonstration of what the padawans were to do. Joreel Ordo's words were succeeded by a rather awkward silence. Glancing to the other padawans and seeing that neither of them seemed to want to go first only served to make Ads even more uncomfortable; he had never liked being the first to do something as he favored observation to action in most cases. He did always feel pressure to be the first to finish when everyone started at the same time, but he hated starting first. Ads was actually very surprised that Halo hadn't already lifted as many rocks as she could, but he wasn't particularly surprised to see that Adrian looked quite befuddled. It wasn't that Adrian seemed like he was bad at using the force, Ads, in his limited perception actually thought Adrian had the most potential of all three padawans, but Adrian simply had no idea what he was doing, he was completely out of his element. Ads cast his mind back to when he was in a similar circumstance at Master RaveN's academy years ago. He smiled at the memory just as Halo finally lifted three boulders, which forced Ads to suppress a small chuckle. Ads knew that his turn was next. He knew how he could put Halo in her place, with only a cursory thought to the contrary, he began to execute his plan. He quickly glanced past Halo and found a very small pebble. Feeling that it was slightly cliche, but still worth it, for him to do this to Halo, he brought the pebble toward Halo's head. It was a small enough pebble and it was flying slowly enough that it wouldn't really hurt her at all, but it should be enough to distract her slightly as a safety net to ensure Ads' success. As the pebble made contact about at the base of her skull, Ads looked into the force to feel the boulders. With the force augmenting both the speed at which he could perceive what he sensed and the sheer quantity of what he could perceive, he was able to sense the points around the rocks as though they were simply constraints in a 3D computer model. Ads ripped the boulders from Halo and set them atop one another. He oconsidered jumping onto the rock that was on top of the stack, but he didn't want to overdo it. Also, he was afraid that he wouldn't be able to hold the rocks and jump at the same time. That was the real reason. It was only then that Ads realized that Joreel might not like what Ads had just done. Oops
  10. Halo repeated Ads' question back to him. He wasn't about to play games with her, so as he was about to just take whatever seat he saw first, she silently left him, headed for a nearby table. Ads just stood there for a moment, confused as to whether or not he was supposed to follow her. He quickly made up his mind that he would and he made his way to the seat across from her. Shortly thereafter, Joreel spoke to them, saying, “Meet me outside in 15 minutes for the continuation of our studies on the basic uses of the Force." Ads scarfed down his meal and stood up, ready to head out when he heard Halo speak to him, barely audible. "Let me know when you’re ready to head back.” "Um, I'm not sure if you remember, but we are supposed to meet a mile from here. And we only have maybe ten minutes to get there. I'm going now." Ads set out for the clearing at a light jog, looking over his shoulder to see if Halo was behind him.
  11. Halo gave Ads a quick response and then became awkwardly silent. Ads wasn't sure what to say, so he didn't say anything at all. When the two of them finally reached the cafeteria some food seemed to make it's way to Halo of its own volition. Obviously, she was using the force to do that. Ads preferred to actually use his hands for trivial things like this, it made him less dependent on the force and honestly felt more natural to him. After he found everything that actually looked appealing to him, he headed toward the tables. As he neared one, he noticed Halo standing, watching him, so he walked over to her. "Where do you want to sit?"
  12. "Lead the way." Ads started walking back to the cafeteria--or wherever they were going to get food--with Halo beside him. "So," he said, quickly glancing over to her, "when did you figure out you were telepathic?"
  13. "Ads, Halo, you are dismissed for the afternoon. Go to the cafeteria and get something to eat and then head outside about a mile east of this place, there should be a clearing with some scattered rubble. Wait there for Adrian and I to arrive." Me, Adrian and me. You wouldn't say wait for I. Gosh. When Ads was done being a condescending prick within his head, he turned to Halo. "Well, you figured that out quickly," Ads said. "Want to go grab some food with me?" Ads immediately realized how stupid that question was, seeing as they were already going to go to the same place, anyway. He couldn't really tell if he was blushing, but it was pretty obvious that he was to anyone who looked at him.
  14. Ads was disoriented by all the blind spinning he did. He tried to remember which way was which, but that effort was futile. Well, there's only one way to do this now, he thought. Ads could sense all five people, but it was difficult to tell who was who. He was, actually, quickly able to tell where the presences were. He knew where everyone was, but not who was who. It was almost like he could see where everyone was. Almost. It wasn't a second sight, but it was, perhaps, the visual equivalent of a word being on the tip of the tongue. So close, yet so far. After reflecting on the presences, Ads was able to distinguish between the padawans and the other Jedi. The others were definitely stronger in the force, and felt almost above the padawans. Not that they necessarily thought themselves superior, but they simply were hierarchically superior. Of the three, one felt less instructive, though, and more as though he was dragged into this. He was definitely not Joreel. But the other two...Ads would have to try to dive deeper into sensing them. Just when he began to do so, Halo blurted out, "Knight Joreel is standing in front of me.” Once he heard this, he was able to really tell the difference between the two remaining presences, and it seemed that Halo was correct. But, Ads was disappointed, as he did not have the chance to finish on his own. While he could have postulated that the man near Halo was Joreel (as he had spun her around), it was different to be straight up told where Joreel was. "Thanks for the help," he sighed. He knew that kids her age were prone to blurting out answers when told not to (hell, even people Ads' age did that, and there wasn't really that much of an age gap), so he couldn't really get mad at Halo, but it did serve to illuminate the maturity gap bridged in the few years of the stage of life across which they stood from each other. Ehh, at least she's hot. Crap. She reads minds.
  15. Seeing as no one else had responded, Ads decided to answer first. "I can feel your presence, though I wouldn't be able to identify it as being explicitly your presence," Ads replied, wanting to be honest, but deep down he knew he wanted to impress the other padawans.
  16. Halo looked unsure of herself even before she spoke. She was fidgeting, feeling the bruise that Ads had given her. Serves her right. Oh crap, quickly flashed through his head when he realized that Halo had already finished. That meant it was Ads' turn. While he wasn't exactly unsure of himself--he knew his story better than anyone, after all--he wasn't exactly sure of all the details. Chronologically, it didn't fit. He seemed to remember training with the Jedi ten years prior, but he also remembered being 22 at the time, which was odd, because he was only 21 currently. He had to start speaking either way, and so he did. "Uh, yeah, I'm called Ads-Gop Flif, but most people shorten it to just Ads. I've begun training a few times before, but each time my master...seemed to become catatonic. We would train for a while, and then they would simply stop. It was as if their brains had just quit controlling them. It was rather eerie. Although, I guess there was one time that didn't happen. That time, my master turned out to be a Sith Lord, who then took me to their emporer, who tortured and murdered me. That was pretty tough. "I was a Captain in the Republic fleet a while back, I was there at the Battle of Ossus when the Republic, Black Sun, Hutts, and New Dawn clashed. That was a rough battle. Not long before that, I was captured by a bounty hunter and turned over to the Hutts because they thought I was a leader of a Jedi splinter group (which I wasn't: I was training to be a mainline Jedi). Oh, I was murdered by a Jedi Master once. I never really got an explanation for that one, although I do believe that he was a former member of that splinter Jedi group. And, uh, around that time, despite being merely a Jedi hopeful, I went to Coruscant's aid when its skyline was destroyed by its own planetary shields in a massive invasion. Along with a high-ranking Jedi, I fought a very powerful Mandalorian. After he incapacitated the other Jedi, I was forced to fight him one-on-one. I almost killed him, but in the end, he got the best of me. "But perhaps the biggest thing in my life is the many times that I have blacked out for years at a time, usually waking up in the Last Call, on Coruscant. Each of those occurrences have also marked apparent, um, anachronisms in my life. My timeline seems to be off. Still haven't been able to figure that out, but I won't let it affect us!" Ads did not continue from there, but there was a bit of an awkward pause, as though the others were expecting him to say more, so he mumbled a conclusive, "So, yeah..."
  17. Joreel seemed to be weirded out by Ads' greeting, based on the way he contorted his face after Ads called him, "master." Strange, Ads thought, I guess he doesn't like being called 'master'? Oh, I did say that kind of strange I guess...maybe... Ads' thought was interrupted by Halo's entrance. After bowing to Joreel, she gave a wave to Ads. Figuring this was his chance to display his sexual proclivity to Joreel, he gave Halo an almost flirtatious wave. That way he would be sure to know how Ads felt. Right?
  18. Ads made his way back to his room. It was getting late and they would train early tomorrow. Turning off the lights as he entered, he headed straight for his room. He immediately crawled into bed and went to sleep. He woke up very refreshed; sleeping in a Jedi temple always helped him sleep. He got up and got ready for the day. He made his way through the lobby to the training room in time to follow behind Joreel. "Hello, Master," he said, putting an unintentional emphasis on the word, "master," due to his excitement, as he entered the training room, a moment after Joreel. ((Thank God that this is a fantasy world, because at least Ads can get enough sleep, even if I can't ))
  19. "Oh," Ads remarked as the ball hit Halo on the side of her head. "I didn't think that would actually work." .:"Shoot! You'll Pay for this one.":. As Halo's brow became a remarkable crimson hue as she dropped her staff. Huh, didn't think it would end that quickly either... Using the force, Ads pulled into his hand the bamboo pole lying between himself and Halo. As he gave a respectful bow to Halo, he realized why she had actually stopped. The newer Jedi, Joreel, had spoken to the two of them, telling them to stop sparring. Ads had barely heard him, and certainly not noticed at first, so intent was he on achieving his objective. Joreel was actually still speaking to the them. "Thank you, it seems the Force has brought me here for more than it being a location fo the Jedi. It appears that all three of you were destined to become Padawans, and you will do so under my tutelage." Ads couldn't believe it, he was going to have an actual master again. Yes, it may have been the fourth time ("may" being the correct word in this instance, as Ads wasn't sure which masters counted and which ones didn't), but Ads had a great feeling about this time. He didn't expect Joreel to become catatonic like some of Ads' previous masters, and he also did not feel that he would black out again any time soon. It was exciting for Ads. "You have been assigned adjacent rooms down the hall, each of which should be supplied with a set padawan's robes, a practice lightsaber, a holocom, a limited spending card with the Order, and a pin that denotes you as Padawan's to the rest of Order should you cross paths. Please make your way to your rooms, shower, and have the rest of the evening to cleanse your mind. I will meet you all back here in the morning. Do you have any questions?" Ads did not, but he still had something he wanted to say, nonetheless. "I don't have any questions, but I would really like to thank both you, Master, for bearing this responsibility, and Jaren for rekindling the spark of the force inside of myself."
  20. ((To Darex and Joreel: Although Jaren might feel that Ads is almost ready for his trials, I would love to have a master at least as a traveling partner of sorts for a short time, at least. Also, Ads really only knows how to use the force, not any schools of thought about it or anything, so if this stuff really comes up in the RP, I would also love to have him finally be taught this stuff. Thanks!) Ads had landed firmly on the box...at least he thought he had. He was continuing his backflip toward the ground. It was odd, Halo had revered quickly enough to apparently push the box that just minutes ago she was barely able to lift on her own, because there was no way that Ads had misjudged his flip, it was not a difficult maneuver. It was almost as though she had entirely avoided Ads' smack on her arm even though he was sure that he felt his pole quiver as he tapped her. Either way, he was rapidly approaching the ground. Ads' eyes widened as he saw that Halo's staff was coming toward his body. He had no idea how she had avoided his attack, pushed the crate away from him, and kept pace with him enough to now be on the offensive. Her learning curve in the force was...formidable. Merely minutes ago, she was using it for the first time (and it was arguable whether or not it was actually even her using the force at that point), and now she was almost getting a step ahead of him. Almost. Her offensive, however impressive it was, had failed to account for his motion. As he fell, Halo's strike continued at the same level. Perhaps this was on purpose, though, because Ads was only afforded a fraction of an instant to duck his head out of the way. That shook him up a bit. Ads had promised himself to smack her in the face with his pole. The last thing in the world that he wanted was to be hit in the face by her rod. For multiple reasons. As he rolled away from Halo again, he knew he would have to do better if he were to beat her. Knowing that she would be in quick pursuit of him, Ads lept up, bringing his staff over his head to bat at Halo from above. As he reached the apex of his jump, he waved one of the hard rubber balls that Jaren had earlier flung at the two duelists toward Halo through the force. If he couldn't hit her with his pole, perhaps at least a ball would hit her.
  21. Damn. Halo sidestepped Ads' stroke, a development that did not exactly shock Ads, although he was a bit disappointed. Ads tucked and rolled as he landed, not out of necessity, for he could land on his feet just fine (and, verily, he had already done so just a few minutes ago to demonstrate his competence), but rather to separate himself a bit more from Halo so that he had room to take up a defensive stance. It was good that he had done so because merely moments after landing, Halo aimed a strike at his left hand, with which he was holding his bamboo staff. In one deft, force-aided motion, Ads grabbed the pole with his right hand and rotated the staff so as to redirect the bamboo rapidly approaching his hand. While Halo was still reeling from Ads' parry, without winding up, he aimed a quick shot at the exposed part of Halo's forearm, just below her elbow. He swiftly stepped back from Halo to allow himself room to backflip onto the box that he had lifted and taken cover behind earlier. He readied himself, waiting for Halo's imminent response.
  22. Ads could feel Halo looking for her. She was definitely taking her time. As Ads was beginning to tire of waiting and hanging, Halo stepped into view. She gave a sigh; she had realized where he was. Ads launched himself toward her as she called out, "You do realize we Knight Jaren instructed to spar, right?" He let his actions speak for him as he swung his pole at her face.
  23. .:"Ads, Halo, I want you two to spar each other." He walked over to a footlocker that contained long bamboo poles and handed one to each of them. "Be mindful of the Force, and use what you have learned so far.":. Ads took his pole from Jaren. He had seen Halo flirting with the newcomer, Joreel or John. She seemed like quite the floozy, and for that, he promised himself that he would smack her with his pole. And he would enjoy it. He had a strange feeling that she would too. Ads followed Halo into the other room. When a support column obscured him from Halo's vision, he leapt. Or leaped. Either one is fine, really. Either way, he used the force to assist his jump up to the pipes near the ceiling and waited for Halo to come looking for him...
