  1. *Crawls out of the swamps to actually post something* Very good work, as always! ANd I gotta say about Chazi--you nailed her square on the head, I think. I think her level of formality, articulation and nervousness were perfect for the kind of person she is. I think more sass would have made her just plain reckless. :3
  2. Vega grimaced, naming a total that was really outside her spending range. "But he doesn't have anything else I could work with. Well--" she corrected herself. "He does, but what I save in cost I lose in time. It'd take months to outfit any of his others. Besides," her eyes got a faraway, dreamy look. "it's custom." She looked down at the datapad again. "I don't mind spending a few days here helping him overhaul a few things. In the end I think I still come out the winner--besides, that deal includes more than just the hull. It's for the other things I'd really need to make her functional. I just won't be able to afford that stash of caf I was hoping to buy." she gave a dry chuckle.
  3. Dev warbled a total and Le'Nin groaned. She replied rapidly in Rodian, her tone of voice injured--and the bargaining began. They were at it for nearly half an hour with Dev and Le'Nin alternately behaving as if the other were being totally unreasonable. In the end, however, both seemed pleased. "It's still more credits than I have to get the hull and the rest of the things I need," she admitted to Arlan in an aside, "but he says he could use me here for a few days to make up the difference." She grinned at Dev. "You softie," she called over to him with a snort, and the Rodian threw his hands in the air and shook his head with a muttered comment. Le'Nin chuckled.
  4. Le'Nin tailed Dev like an eager puppy, exclaiming over one piece of machinery or another, breaking from time to time into the chittering Rodian language to exchange a flood of excited talk. After another few moments of poking around, Dev handed Le'Nin a datapad and she examined it, her eyes getting round. "Oh wow," she said, a half groan. "That's killer. Arlan--come take a look at this hull Dev's got. It's WAY more than a hull, actually, and a sweet little piece of work!"
  5. Le'Nin was grinning like an idiot. "This place is like a candy shop. He's got some stuff I haven't see in YEARS. I could spend myself broke in here and not have half of what I'd really want!" She had to restrain another delighted pounce at yet another piece of machinery.
  6. Le'Nin was staring eagerly around and had to restrain herself from pouncing upon a gorgeously refurbished vintage hyperdrive interface with a cry of delight. "I need," she said with a grin. "A ship. What've you got that'll work for a girl with itchy mechanic's fingers?"
  7. She chuckled. "More caf--do you ever sleep? Not like I'm one to talk, though." She followed him around the corner and towards the shop. "I drink enough caf to keep a herd of Bantha awake for a week."
  8. "Excellent," she said, sliding off the bike and adjusting her wind-blown clothing. "You're coming in, right? Or--do you have other errands to run?" She checked her pockets, reassuring herself that her credits and papers were still in place.
  9. Le'Nin rode in silence behind Arlan then, watching the city come closer. She'd never been outside of the area around the starport and she was anxious to see a city that was a little more indigenous than what you'd find around a major port.
  10. "Doing just fine!" She assured Arlan over the sound of the wind. She craned her neck around as they went whipping past the cave, peering back at it over her shoulder. ((OOC: short post is really short >_>))
  11. "Good!" She settled in to enjoy the rest of the ride, letting the wind wash over her like ocean waves. The air smelled good and clean and damp and the vibrant green of the grass and the sun piercing through the lacework clouds made her suddenly wonder why in the world she spent so much time under cold, artificial light on tiny metal spaceships when she could be in someplace--well, like this place.
  12. She whooped again as the bike accelerated, clutching Arlan to keep from a very nasty tumble off the bike. "Harnesses are for old ladies," she laughed. "This little bike's not bad at all!"
  13. She whooped as they accelerated, laughing into the wind as it drove against her face. "Can she go any faster?" The wind whipped the words away as fast as she said them so she had to lean right next to Arlan's ear to make herself heard. Then--laughing again, "Does your Master know you drive like an insane mynock?"
  14. "Fancy driving," she said with a grin, sliding into the seat. "You ever try to overclock one of these babies? it's a lot of fun." She settled herself and took hold. "Ready, let's get going."
  15. Le'Nin waited for Arlan to return just under the shadow of the Antigony, holding her robe tucked closely about her in the lingering chill after the storm. She was working very hard to ignore the voice of her guilt, still whispering a constant undertone of beration. She overlayed it with a quick analysis of what she was going to REALLY need to take away to the Rim with her, blocking out also the shy, hopeful thoughts at the idea of friendship with Arlan and, perhaps, his Master as well.
