  1. Ana awkwardly echoed Darex's bow. "Hi, er...Hello, Master." Her face grew warm and she was glad when he continued. She was, however, not so glad when he told her to participate in the practice. But I... Her objection went unvoiced. Instead she nodded respectfully and sucked in a breath between clenched teeth. Just...focus She reached out with her mind, seeking that newfound friend--the Force. It was easier to touch it this time, though she still felt more than a little insignificant and unqualified next to the greatness of the Force and the Jedi. Stretching out her senses, she brushed the older man's mind--or at least she thought she did. Eyes closing in concentration, she mentally reached out further. There. She opened her eyes, hesitant. "A...droid?"
  2. Late again... Ana quietly slipped closer to the Jedi instructing Lucien and a Padawan she didn't know. Seraphim. That's what the Jedi introduced the silver-haired man as. Interesting name... Since she was already rather late, she respectfully stood to the side, content to observe and learn. She watched, impressed, as the older Padawan did as the Jedi instructed. He obviously had considerably more training than Ana. Anyway, that's what she assumed from his apparent ease at tapping into the energy of the Force. Her eyes shifted to her fellow Padawan. She was nearly certain he had made more progress in his learning than her. Anyway, he just seemed more...comfortable or something. Ana shook her head suddenly as she realized she'd let her mind wander. How will I learn if I don't pay attention? Breathing deeply, she returned her focus to the exercise the Jedi--was he a Knight or a Master?--had assigned to the two Padawans.
  3. Tossing the pole aside, Ana lightly hopped to her feet and brushed her pants off. She smiled softly and nodded to Lucious, "A break sounds like a good idea." While Lucious went to the ship, Ana took some time to observe the changes in her surroundings since she'd been preoccupied sparring with Lucious. Several other ships had arrived, a fact she was surprised she had missed before. Ships could be quite noisy when they landed. Aparently she had spaced out for a while. Shaking her head, she settled into a comfortable sitting position on a soft bed of needles beneath a tree. Right now she was unsure of what she should be doing. Should I go talk to Master Skye? She frowned, then shook her head. No...she probably wants her privacy. ((Sorry everyone, I had some RL stuff come up unexpectedly and couldn't get on.))
  4. The sudden appearance of a ship overhead broke Ana's concentration and Lucious' weapon slipped past her defenses and smacked into her side. It didn't hurt too much, but it knocked her off balance. She stumbled over a rock and fell with a crash. "Ow." ((Sorry, kinda lame but I don't have a lot of time to post. *smacks busy summer schedule*))
  5. ((Hope everything goes well for you, Skye.)) The sudden attack from her fellow Padawan caught Ana off guard and it was all she could do to get her makeshift weapon up in time to block his first slashing attacks. How she managed to block the feroucious onslaught of blows, she wasn't sure. Instinct... She thought, pivoting her weapon to block another blow. Then, stepping aside and pivoting, she swung the branch in a side arc towards his knees.
  6. Ana took his proffered hand and shook it, returning his smile with a soft one of her own as he spoke. Then, he reached past her shoulder and just as she turned to see what it was he was reaching for, she felt something hit the back of her head. "Hey!" Her head whipped back to face him as he laughed. ”œMy studies give somewhat of an advantage though!”
  7. Interesting... Ana thought to herself as she noted her fellow Padawan's choice to practice combat first. While she had gone to what was more familiar to her, and possibly easier, he had chosen what looked like the most difficult. Of course, it could be that combat was easier to him... But for Ana, she felt that the art of combat should be something she learned later, once she had grasped other parts of the Force. With that thought, her mind turned back to what her Master had demonstrated earlier. What should I practice next? She wondered, mentally visualizing the different techniques and skills Skye had showed them. She could, of course, just practice this first skill--levitation--until she had improved in its use. But that was boring, practicing the same thing over and over. Sighing softly to herself, she glanced to Lucious. She hadn't had a chance to talk with him much yet, they had been too busy training. Hoping she wouldn't disturb him by speaking now, she took a step towards him, gesturing to his makeshift training weapon with one hand. "You're pretty good with that. Have you had any training like this before? Force training, I mean..."
  8. The thought of more training might have made some cringe, but Ana found it exhilarating. It wasn't every day that she was handed the chance to learn about something as massive and as important as the Force. Most of her studies had been dedicated to more normal and perhaps even boring topics such as galactic history and literature. This was just so much...bigger. Pushing away all distracting thoughts, Ana focused on her Master as she demonstrated the different Force techniques and skills. The young Corellian couldn't help but be impressed by the skill Master Skye demonstrated as she showed her Padawans what she wanted them to learn. There was so much...Ana found herself wondering if she could ever be that good, if she could ever learn to use the Force as well as Skye did. As the thought passed through her mind, she reached to touch the pendant Master Skye had given her. Yes... she thought, a new resolve filling her. I will be that good. I will help bring peace to this galaxy again. Her thoughts probably would have been seen as cheesy and sentimental to some, but they gave the girl something to strive for, something to live for. This was why she had come here, why she had joined the Jedi--to make a difference. The Padawan didn't know it then, but she'd just opened herself up to the Force in a way she hadn't been willing to before. She did, however, note a subtle change in her inner atmosphere. A peace she hadn't had before filled her, she would eventually come to recognize it as a friend, an ally...the Force. Taking the branch her Master had supplied, Ana concentrated as she had done on Helix Station, this time attempting to use the crystal to help her focus as Skye had instructed. She closed her eyes, opening her hand to allow the branch to rest freely in her palm. Her mind, cleared of all the distracting cobwebs, focused on the branch. There. She felt the rough wood leave her hand and slowly opened her eyes, careful to not lose her concentration and let the branch drop. It levitated several inches above her palm, wobbling occasionally as the young Padawan attempted to keep her control on it. Finally, after a moment of holding it there, she reached out and took from the air. Success. She smiled to herself, pleased that she'd managed to levitate the branch--a larger and heavier object than the bamboo pole she'd experimented with earlier. This was just the first step, however. Master Skye had given her much more to practice.
  9. Ana shifted in her seat, restless after the trip through hyperspace. She never had really enjoyed space travel. As soon as the ship had landed, Skye appeared from the cockpit. Ana stood, eager to continue her training. ((Sorry it's so short...internet problems again.))
