Background:

 

Raised by the Jedi at Ilum until she was six, Raesi has spent most of her life under the guidance of the Sith Master Julio Furion. Though her father was strong in the Force he refused to show her the way and never gave her a suitable reason why. He did, however, impress upon her everything else he knew about the universe. Physics, chemistry, engineering, programming, psychology, sociology, bureaucracy, economics, philosophy, natural law, every subject he felt important to understanding how to stay alive in this twisted galaxy. Their time together was very broken up between his own studies and objectives, but for the short times they were together she adored it. They would train together and talk about the things she was reading. He would ask her piercing questions into the subjects, refusing repetition of fact and content as sufficient display of individual thought and problem solving, always pushing her to not to simply know the material but understand it.

 

She threw herself into her studies, her substitution for a father when hers wasn't around. If she could just get better, smarter and stronger maybe he wouldn't be so afraid to take her with him on his dangerous adventures. But as the years rolled on and she was shuffled from place to place, left in the hands of different people for safe keeping, it became more apparent that he was more concerned with his own affairs than her.

 

The Jedi took care of her but honored her father's wish and didn't teach her anything of the Force so there she continued her studies, utilizing the library as far as her access would allow to stay on the path he wanted for her. Lallu took a turn but her own pining for Julio made his absence all the more noticeable. But why would Julio make the effort to teach her so much if he didn't want her? Why would he take such effort to keep her safe if he didn't want her to learn the most powerful weapon in the galaxy? Why didn't he kill her when he leveled Ilum?

 

The absence has continued long enough, and cold silence has atrophied any sense of compassion that tied her to the man that would have been a father. Youthful spirit and knowledge of what she knows will no longer permit Rose to wait for life to happen to her. Carpe diem.
