Many thoughts swam through the massassi, Karys Narat iv-Adas mind as he piloted the ship he had acquired some years ago. At the front of these was how he would be received upon his official return to the dark embrace of the Sith, if he would be accepted again at all.

Unofficially, he had been alive for several years since his fourth death, the details of which he had long forgotten. He had since traversed the stars, following the call of the Darkness within him...to seek out the secret to his Wrath and gain control over it. A secret that in part still evaded him.

He had tempered his Wrath to a extent, after exploring many different cults, secret societies, dark cabals and other such dark force based traditions but still the secret to making his Wrath manifest eluded him. At least in the physical sense. But he knew he was getting close. As such he felt the time had come make his return known.

With each planet he passed, when trouble made itself known and others tried to end his life, the Lord Of Wrath resurfaced. Those who knew what to look for would recognise his unique brand of vengeance. Soon he was closing on the place that now had his full attention once more. A place that Darkness was manifest.

Inputting the correct co-ordinates his course was set. Onderon and the Sith awaited the return of Lord Akheron.

As the newly built Exodus-Class Star Destroyer pierced through hyperspace on her maiden voyage, so too did Solus try to tame his hound on his chassis’ maiden combat situation in one of the many hangers..

“Ah! Down Tear! Down I say!” Solus tried to command as he and the hound rolled over and over on the floor.  Solus’ metal hands were gripping onto the beasts upper and lower jaw, doing everything in his power from keeping it snapping around his head.

Eventually Solus raised his leg and pushed the hound away from him. The hound tumbled on the floor and slammed into a fighter, but quickly back jumped to its feet, while Solus was still getting up.

The hound leapt forward, claws eager to fulfill its name’s purpose. It’s master before had kept it contained through sheer violence and size. Now, Solus was almost as small as it was, if just a foot bigger. Solus was weaker, and thus, no longer in charge when the shock leash was off.

Solus barely rolled out of the way of the hound’s tumble. His mind flashed back to when he had fought Tear’s brother, Rip, and the rest of its pack. Back then, he was with Lord Roshan and his other warrior, and Solus had his large chassis. He was able to hold Tear down with one hand, and break leg bones just by squeezing.

“This is just so stupid. So dumb! Gah!” Solus angrily shouted as he dodged another pounce. This time he was ready and leapt onto the hounds back, grabbing tightly.

“Obey me Tear! You know I’m in charge.” Solus commanded to no avail. Instead Tear responded with by rolling over and pressing onto Solus with his back.
Solus thanked the force that Tear hadn’t developed spines yet  like his brother. Still, he was forced to let go.

The two got themselves up and circled each other momentarily. Tear growled and bared its razor-sharp teeth. Solus started to lose hope. This was useless, he did not have the same strength to tame Tear.

“Come on Tear, what is it? What will make you obey me again…”

Tear barked in response, its glowing red eyes showing no fear nor compassion. It had no reason to listen to this fake thing.

Solus tried to think more. He recalled what his master had said.

A tuk'ata must have it's allegiance earnt through sheer will, by bending it's will to your own. Dominate his mind. Show him your true self, your darkness, your rage, anger and all your fears. Earning his loyalty, only then will you have a true hound of war to follow you for perhaps centuries to come. For they are not easily bought and rare to find. Let him loose from his chain, break his will on the journey to Naboo, consider this your first real test as a Sith

Solus shook his newly made head in confusion.

Bend your will to my own? Isn’t that what I did before? By beating you to a pulp and breaking your legs?”

Tear charged, trying to use its teeth instead of its claws this time. Solus stumbled back a bit in surprise and raised an arm up in defense. Tear grabbed the arm and, with the force of a beast, shook Solus around and threw him to the side.

The Shard crashed into the wall, shocked from the sheer muscle Tear had. He had been growing since Korriban. He was just so big that Solus never really saw it.

“Why won’t you listen to me?” Solus shouted, anger in his synthesized voice. Tear charged again but this time he was ready. As the beast leapt, Solus brought his arm up and struck at the thing’s throat.

Solus didn’t realize how much strength he actually did have. While it was nothing compared to his previous chassis, it was still the strength of a robot. With the air knocked out, Tear collapsed onto the ground momentarily.

Solus looked at his arm. The dents in it, as well as the strain in Solus’ shoulder, showed the power of Tear’s jaws. If he was an organic, it might’ve been torn off.

“You damaged me!” Solus yelled. Tear was getting up. Solus was up first and jumped up and placed himself over Tear. With one hand on its head and the other on its shoulder, Solus pinned the hound with his full weight.

“You DAMAGED ME!” Solus shouted, his synthesized voice blaring out slightly. Tear began to struggle, but Solus only pressed down harder.

“All you had to do was listen to me. You needed to listen to me! But no! You decided to not listen at all and damge me! Cut me out of everything and leave me! Thats what you all did! Isolate me like some piece of NOTHING!”

Tear stopped and looked at the being. The force was coming off of the metal being now. Waves of anger and pain were rapidly intensifying. The shard’s past was being brought forward. With its new body, Solus was more connected to the Force then ever, and the beast not only recognized it, but relished in its nourishment.

Inside his chassis, as the pain came to the surface, the shard’s lines became faster and more precise. Their usual chaotic dance began to imitate a more geometric shape as its feelings became focused.

“All you, and all the rest of you had to do was listen! I had visions! I saw the world of worlds! I SAW EVERYTHING! And I was right! I was! Not them! ME! ME! AND YOU ALL PUNISHED ME FOR BEING RIGHT!! WELL WHO IS RIGHT NOW!?!?!”

With each sentence, Solus’ voice became more garbled and distorted as the dark side surged from the shard inside the thing’s head. With each surge, the lines got closer and closer, until finally, they were perfectly aligned.

"WHO"S RIGHT NOW!!!!"

Solus grabbed Tear, picked him up, and blared his scream. The shard turned a horrid black. The metallic screech was layered with dark energy from the fury inside the Shard that had been held back for centuries. . The walls shook slightly as the force, starting to be recognized by the Shard, vibrated. True, Solus would probably never be able to do this on purpose without training, but here, Tear was his prisoner and Solus could give into his rage without worry.

The screech only lasted for a few seconds. Then Solus’ body collapsed. Despite being robotic, his body was drained of all power. Solus could see but was unable to move. His hound locked eyes on his fallen master who only moments ago. He was completely helpless. Nothing could save him now…

Tear calmly walked up and curled himself around Solus’ body. His master had finally shown some of his true colors. His pain. His rage. This is what nourished the Tu'kata more then any kind of meal. Death was its meat. The Dark Side was its drink. And its master could provide equal measures of both.

Solus chuckled a bit at this as his body temporarily powered down. It would soon power back up however, when the ship’s broke hyperspace at Naboo.

The galaxy may have been holding its breath, but the well greased inner workings of the Sith Security Bureau continued to move with relentless efficiency. The department’s minister was already requesting a meeting with her before she had even arrived at the rendezvous location, and Darth Nyrys was inclined to honor that request in order to gain a better understanding of the situation at large.

“-And we are currently pushing a media blitz regarding Naboo being used as a vital part of the refinement of biological weapons cultivated on Felucia. While the conflicts leading up to Naboo were mostly big stick diplomacy skirmishes, this is the first time that the campaign has launched, for lack of a better term, a sacking, and that gives us room to shape the narrative.” explained the minister, currently mid briefing.

“One would think by now our history would make such actions unnecessary. Our nature has always been one of brutal honesty, when it came to diplomatic negotiation.” Nyrys said, almost wistfully.

“Those who remember history are nearly always drowned out by those that are consumed by their anchorless and immediate perspectives. Individuals may at times be unpredictable, but groups of people are drearily banal. Take the rebels for example, always promising a better galaxy but never managing to deliver one that can survive beyond at most a decade or two. I can see how it might have been inspiring and hopeful the first time, but at this point they’re just stacking bodies for a jingoistic scam. This is not the last rebellion that we will have to put down, as softer hearted fools will inevitably delude themselves into thinking that they are heroes that will really actually bring a better era to the galaxy.” The minister waxed philosophically.

“They have only the scars of the past and empty silences to account for those times. I’m not surprised that such abscesses fester and spoil into infection. Pain carries little context or wisdom, only the incessant call for action. When Darth Mavanger exhausts this new bloodlust or directs it elsewhere, we will rebuild amidst the ashes so that maybe the survivors might understand the why of our violence. Without the rebels, without disorder, there would be no need for such displays of barbarity. I want dossiers on worlds for after Naboo that would join willingly without a show of force so that we can show the galaxy that only the worlds that resist will suffer consequences.” She knew that it would be next to impossible to fully rein in the Sith now that blood was in the proverbial water, but the damage could be directed and limited with a careful hand.

Kirlocca sat in the main hold of a transport ship holding out a training lightsaber to Johan. The hilt was suspended in the air through the use of the Force as the Jedi Master walked in a pacing line across from his apprentice. The hilt would remain suspended until his apprentice grasped the hilt form himself. His words were soft yet strong. The boy would have known that Kirlocca wanted him to do well, but also knew that he wouldn't be happy if he wasn't putting his full focus forward.

<< The blade itself is weightless, making it a difficult weapon to wield. One must have the Force flowing through them in order to not accidently cut off their own limbs. Such control takes a few times to really know, but takes years to fully master it without any question. Upon such mastery comes other benefits, such as movement completely unhindered, knowing how quickly one can move the blade, or even to know how to move the blade in a way that it moves better than an extension of your own body. >>

Kirlocca now paused and turned towards Johan, withdrawing and activating his own lightsaber he received as a gift from Tobias Vos. The familiar snap-hiss brought the orange blade to life, and the light from it seemed to take over the entire hold of the shuttle.

<< With the Force, one can learn to predict movements, attack and defend without any question as to where their blade will land. Every Jedi begins with Shii-Cho, the very first and basic form of lightsaber combat. From there, the options of forms increases. A total of 8 forms are within our order. More if ones are broken down, and smaller ones expanded upon. Some choose to learn many, but hold no true mastery over one. Other prefer to understand the basics and leave it at that. Others, such as myself devote to one form and become a master of it, having no other rivals in the form. But I also did this through crafting my own, Wru'torr; the form of discipline. >>

Without another word, the Wookiee leapt at Johan with his own orange blade, wanting the boy to get used to what an attack from another blade could feel like.

Zalis sat in the cockpit of the Supremacy and stared at the starlines of hyperspace as she traveled from Iridonia to the Outer Haven. Her mind wondered for a moment how much of this was worth it. Setting up an empire of Czerka alongside Black Sun was an undertaking she knew would require a ton of leg work and people pleasing for a while. And a lot if it was fairly simple and easy for her to do. But to show up in the massive hive spot known as Outer Haven was an undertaking she didn’t think she’d ever have to do. Such a place made dealing with the Hutts seem like child's play compared to how the entire facility ran at Haven.

Calmin she was sure was dead- those reports of his death surfaced many years ago, long before the Crusaders even struck at Coruscant. In fact, she was sure that she still owned a stake at the Golden Link Casino when he died. Yet somehow, here she was, being sent by the Zabraks to finish a deal they had with him. Part of her wondered if the dark fur Wookiee, Jathrrro, still operated the facility quietly under the guise of Calmin. He was a poor beast that through heavy manipulation served the Miraluka filled with rage. Either way, she would soon find out the nature of Outer Haven and what sort of business she could accomplish there, along with what sort of profits could be squeezed from it.

((That is up to you. See if you can make this post a long one. Describe yourself, cleaning your armour. Etc. ))

She slowly pulled the lever back and reverted the starshuttle to realspace. The streaks of stars reverting from long stretched lines to faded white pinpricks of light against a dark canvas of stars. She glanced down to the navigation computer and watched the flashing information that was part of the calculations of the next microjump. They were within long broadcast range of a holonet transceiver, so the computer worked on also downloading new navigational data alongside its calculations.

Her hand absentmindedly went up to the bacta patch that was covering the right side of her face and she sighed. They were finally off that world, and now it was time to take in the consequences of the mission. Firstly they had rescued an imperial agent, and secondly her relationship with Aidan was in ruins.

It had been necessary, and surely he would know that right?

((3 day rule, jumping the order. Lurg, I sent you a PM if you see this, no worries man, just trying to coordinate better, lol.))

For a while after Aidan felt the shuttle jump to hyperspace, he debated leaving his room to seek out the trooper they'd picked up on their travels. Firstly, he was curious about the man, and secondly he or any other person would make a decent social buffer to avoid talking or even thinking about what they'd just been through.

Eventually, he decided to simply lock the door to his room and catch some sleep before they were due in at their destination.

The silence was the first thing she noticed, then as she relaxed into the pilot’s chair the slight roar of hyperspace droned in the background of her mind. But even in the lull of the white noise of the engines she could not find sleep. She tried to roll on one side and even shut the cockpit viewscreens down but still sleep would not come. She glanced down to the control panel again. Twelve hours until the jump was completed. Then they would be at Nar Shaddaa. The longtime base of the Rebel Alliance.

She sighed and stood. Twisting the wrist worn datapad to set an alarm for ten minutes before they were to revert to realspace as she walked to the refresher unit. It was hard to describe how she felt. Tired, exhausted, but the emptiness she had not felt in several years. It felt like there was hole in her chest that her breath kept getting sucked into. She had lost her only touchstone. It was not until she had slid the refresher door closed that she could feel the silent heat of tears. Her vision was thick with them, and the hot droplets cascaded down her face to make a mess of her bloody tunic. Her hand unconsciously found the red door lock and twisted it into place, remembering that they did in fact have an unknown guest aboard.

Her vision blurred by the cascade of tears, she turned on the shower unit. Selecting the water option from the dim display. She held her hand in the water stream until it turned to a pleasant warmth, then with a deft flick she untied her tunic and placed it into the laundry chute in the alcove beside the shower. She pulled at the bandaging on her face and winced at the pain of the medical grade tape peeling away, then tossed it and the bandage that covered her side into the garbage bin before stepping into the shower.

Only then did the silent tears become soft sobs as Sandy struggled with her screaming emotions.

He was nearly finished eating when he heard the sobs of Sandy Sarna, having the acute hearing from having to need it in that horrid planet where he had no assurance of safety from enemies and beasts alike. He thought for a moment on what he should do, so after having finished eating he went over to the cockpit standing to the side of the pilots seat and pressing the intercom button. He knew how much trouble he could get into but he knew it would be more angering if it had seemed he only messed with the intercom for no reason. So he spoke, quickly saying.

"So the female Jedi, can't remember your name off the top of my head, but I can hear you and I can tell you are probably going through something more than any of us here could understand fully, so come into the main room of the ship when your done in there and talk to me, because keeping your emotions inside all the time helps nothing, I know your a Jedi but not expressing your emotions does come at a cost, sometimes much worse than that of being a Sith."

The rhythmic cascade of water pulsing across her scalp helped calm her laboured breathing. It was strange to feel this lost, she had always had purpose, always had direction. She had fought Sith Lords and Masters, defeated Mandalore and destroyed a revenant crusade, but still. She felt so lost. More lost than after Thalassia.  Perhaps it was more of a fall from a great height than quite that low. She glanced to her arms and inspected the short little lines of scar tissue that traced up and down her arms. A symbol of that once great low. And a reason she usually kept her tunic sleeves so long.

She took another shuddering breath, and slowly let it out through her nostrils. It was time to stop wallowing in the misery of it. She knew that, and the soldier who was blasting through the intercomm knew it. She took another steadying breath and touched the force. She slowly let the flow in, letting its soothing nature ease her tired muscles before she began to work on her damaged psyche.

What had she lost? Love? Love was a spiritual thing, it breathed in, it breathed out. It came with the morning wind and left with the evening breeze. Love was a human thing. It grew up, it flourished, it had soaring flights, disastrous lows, it grew old with grace, or it died in a bed of cancerous loathing. Love was a fickle thing, easily lost and not easily replaced. Gambled away like an unseen paystub on an empty promise. Love was a political thing. Full of intrigue and the prayed against knife in the back.

There was a time for Love and there was a time for Death. And this love had not died. Their force bond had been severed, but the memories remained. The touchstone was still there, even if it was bathed in sorrow.

She let the long held breath out, and turned off the water flow with one hand. It was time to face whatever lay in store.

She quickly dried herself with one of the towels and then pulled on a set of the shuttle's spare tunics. A quick brush of her hair, and a glance in the mirror told her that she still looked tired, but that the wound on her cheek was now not much more than a red line of scar tissue. She tested a smile and tied back on her belt with its lightsaber and emergency survival equipment. She took another breath and then slid open the refresher door, before walking on bare feet to the main operations center of the shuttle. Where she found the Imperial Soldier.

She raised an eyebrow before flicking on the caf machine near the doorway.

“Thank you for checking in on me, I do appreciate the effort. Caf?” She offered a mug of the steaming and over caffeinated black liquid.

Nearly thirty minutes elapsed since Aidan tried to fall asleep, and he couldn't manage. If he was honest with himself it was also squarely his fault, he knew how to put himself into a meditative trance. He just didn't want to be alone with his thoughts, and his dreams might well have turned to nightmares.

Still in his armor, he made his way toward the front of the ship, but as he sensed Sandy near the galley he opted to skip getting caf and walked past its entryway toward the cockpit. He took the copilot's chair, staring out into the twisting voids and streaks of hyperspace. He used to do this when he was younger and working the space lanes, it always relaxed him. Like visual white noise, it was something he could tune in on to tune everything else out.

And ironically, in the chaos he found quiet solace.

"Your welcome, I'll have some caf. And other person." He looks over to Aidan. "Don't look into space for to long, you can go mad from it." He stands by the copilots chair and sips on the caf as he looks away from the space, he thinks for a few seconds. "Do you know what the Grey Jedi were, I heard from some people they were the real right side, a perfect mix of the light and the dark sides."

The streaks and vortices of light and æther danced across Aidan's eyes as he continued to search the chaos for simple symmetrical patterns he'd recognize, almost like a game. It was a good distraction during the downtime of hyperspace transit, but that's all it was.

"That's really just a myth that you'll go mad. The people who are susceptible to it are usually on the verge of a psychotic break anyways. Space travel isn't for everyone."

Aidan's reply was a bit stiff, and he let the statement hang in the air a moment before continuing. "I, uh, used to work the space lanes a lot when I was younger. Most people don't know it's a myth, is all. But speaking about what people know, you certainly seem to know an awful lot about the Force and its users." This time, his gaze shifted directly to Lurg, and he was silent for just a bit longer as he maintained the steely-eyed stare, still trying to make heads or tails of the man.

"Grey Jedi is really kind of a catch-all term the galaxy tends to use to describe anyone who uses the Force but doesn't belong to the Jedi or Sith. The truth is there isn't one group who calls themselves 'grey Jedi'. But...yes, I know of them. For a long time it was a path my father tried to walk."

His tone made it clear by the time he finished talking that he'd rather not keep going on about his father, though it didn't preclude continuing discussion.

He sits down in between both of the seats, waiting for the travel to end. He thinks about what the rebellion will be like, and if they will let him in. Most of all he feared execution, he had heard the rebels were fanatical and would blast him in the head right as he walked out of the ship, he knew though the Sith had lied before, so he hoped for the best. "What is the Rebellion like, I want to know, since I may be joining them?"

Sandy glanced furtively at Aidan, her eyes searching for the answer to a thousand questions that she could not bring herself to ask in the presence of the unknown soldier. But his face was cool and calm, rested and without care. The chiseled face of an imperial knight. Made of dark granite, his eyes a pure green. Handsome as he was beautiful. She almost smiled at him, but knew that such an action was unwanted and even damaging at this point. So She simply answered the Soldiers question.

“The Rebellion is built from the combination of two galactic governments and a myriad of other smaller planetary governments. A willing coalition of militaries and ideologies that work together to defeat and...” She looked back to Aidan. “...Eradicate the Sith Lords and their followers.”

She looked to the side and tapped one of the control panels that controlled the holographic table that sat between them. A bunch of familiar and not so familiar insignias flashed above the table before filling parts of the galaxy in different shades. The Galactic rim, the Corellian Sector and the Expanse, as well as another long stretch of galaxy made up the galactic rebellion. The Largest of the sectors was labelled the Imperial Remnant. With the smaller segments being labelled ‘The Galactic Alliance in exile’ and then a string of independent systems.

“It’s a bit of a complicated mess. But essentially before the rise of the Sith Empire there was the Imperial Remnant and the Galactic Alliance. When Coruscant was destroyed by the Sith, the majority of the government of the galactic alliance was killed. The Imperial Remnant accepted the fleeing Galactic Alliance and their military into itself and declared a galaxy wide rebellion. Which has continued for the last several years.”

It was weird story, and the fact that the Remnant very much intended to keep its imperial roots was likely worrying to the Jedi Council. But Sandy would not speak of the divisions in the rebellion, for it helped no one to sow discord.

Aidan turned his gaze back out the cockpit window as Sandy began explaining, calming his mind by focusing on the patterns and swirls. Much about hyperspace was still unknown, but to Aidan, symbolically, it represented the whole of the galaxy in how it connected everything together.

"I think he might be worried we're taking him prisoner. Don't sweat it, we can drop you off at a neutral location if you prefer. But, if you're honest about joining the rebellion, then you can expect them to review your history and any past actions for war crimes. Simply being a former Imperial isn't a war crime anymore, but past that you would probably know if you had committed one."

Aidan's words were blunt and honest, and the seeming casual rejection of joviality hung in the air a beat too long.

"And I hunt Sith, but only Sith. You don't seem to be one, so I have no quarrel with you. I also won't hold your past against you until you give me reason to, after all we all have our regrets..."

At the last word, his thoughts shifted to Sandy. But no, he didn't regret her. He could, and he knew it, and he had every right to...but he didn't. It needed to be done, and if he were in her shoes he'd have done the same. Amputate to save the patient, lose a battle to win a war. Slowly, Aidan's tension began to subside with that realization, the crack in the defenses he'd wantonly thrown up to protect him from further pain. It was a start, and they would have time to speak about things later.

For the moment, he decided not to reach out to her. The view was calming, and exactly what his battle-weary mind needed. There would be time.

He thought about who he should answer first, then spoke to Aidan. "I am going to join the Rebellion, after all I can do what I do best there, and that's be a soldier." He then turned to look at Sandy. "If any of you have been wondering, my name is Carson Lurg, I understand you are probably very confused, so I will give you some insight on my history. "I was an Sith Imperial Stormtrooper, top of my class, I completed many missions successfully but one day on a mission against several Jedi, my squad mates and Sith commander were killed, so I was punished by being sent to that monstrous planet we were just on. I had gone mad and went searching for a weapon to kill myself quickly. I was encountered by Rebel troops after a few years, then I killed several of them hunting me down, and I went on the run, after running several miles some troops caught up with me, so I killed them. Then I saw the temple, and my insanity drove me to look for a blaster that could end me in one blast there. I killed many guards and did not find what I was looking for, soon, I found you two. I left out some details but the details I left out are not important."

Sandy’s pale blonde eyebrows raised in surprise. This was quite the quick turnaround from Sith Imperial Agent to a member of the Rebel Alliance. It was only slightly suspicious, but she was sure the Alliance Intel guys on Nar Shaddaa could sort the man out before they sent him on any further missions. They certainly wouldn’t send him on a bantha chase mission like the one he had been dispatched on.

“Do you remember the units of the men you killed? Or what kind of uniforms they were wearing?”

The real question was, why were there rebel alliance special operations units operating on Verzna-Torrah. There had been little info on Rebel Nets about the planet at all, but if there was an operation going on then perhaps the old ISB were involved. Which made her even more suspicious.

‘Well we are glad to have you Carson. No matter the circumstances.”

Her eyes drifted back to Aidan. They were still a few hours left in this last jump, but she knew that once they had hit the Red and Black on Nar Shaddaa, they would be separated for the debrief. And who knew how long it would take to see him again. So she sent a feeling through the force. Not anything brutal or overwhelming. Just a general warmth.

Carson answered the question about the Rebel Units honestly. "They were standard troops, I'm not sure why they were on the planet, but I'm not sure it was to kill me either. They might have been just on patrol but like I said I am not for sure, most of them were the lowest rank." Carson looked at Aidan. "So, do Jedi still do the yellow lightsaber equals sentinel and blue equals guardian, etc. Also in case your wondering how I know this much about force users is because I enjoy studying it, though as far as I know I am not force sensitive, there's a possibility I could be a force sensitive, but I don't know."

"That's a...well...actually, yeah, they do the color thing a lot. It's not like a law, it just...happens."

Now Aidan was more focused on that realization than the shimmers of hyperspace, it was an odd thing to point out, and yet it was also mostly true.

"There's always exceptions, but for the most part I suppose the crystals do wind up being those colors more often than not."

Aidan checked the readouts for the remaining travel time, seeing that they'd been talking for longer than he'd realized. They still had time to converse, but their destination was coming up.

Carson thought about all the different types of soldier he could be in the rebellion, then asked. "Does the Rebellion have heavy troopers, like ones that have heavy armor and heavy blasters? If so I'm thinking I would want to be one of them." He thought a bit more on the questions about the Force he had been asking, and didn't want the trip to get boring, so he followed that question up with a question for Aidan. "Question, if there was once a species called Sith Purebloods, do you think there is a possibility of Jedi Purebloods, if so, could they still be a species that currently exists.

((Hey man, I want to apologize that it took this long to post, I'll be taking over as the primary for our little group until things calm down a bit for Sandy's author. I had a rough weekend as well, and I want you to know I'm going to make every effort to ensure you can post at a rate that is comfortable and fun to you.))

"Every modern military has heavy troopers, though they usually go through special training and sometimes even physical enhancement to be able to carry their weapons and deploy with their squads. And...no, the Sith species was a species, but the Jedi began as a monastic order if I remember right. There likely isn't a species they took their name from. Look, there's a holonet access terminal there, you can look up a lot of this information for yourself if you like but I suppose I don't mind answering questions."

A brief pause, stifling thoughts of Sandy.

"At least it helps pass the time. Looks like we're pulling up on Nar Shaddaa now, though, so wherever you decide to sit, buckle up or hang on to something."

((Next post on Nar Shaddaa))

The starlines completely encased the Supremacy, giving the rapid color change in the cockpit of dark blue to near white. There was a moment of pause before Zalis let out a sigh of relief. She turned towards the Yarkora. He looked at her for a moment before he spoke. He clearly wanted to break the ice. “Since you’re all formal and not at the same time. Name is Ve Livan. Balchi trusted you, so I will as well. But I have so many questions about what just transpired.”

She leaned back within her chair, putting her feet up on the main console of the ship. “Well, feel free to ask away. We’ve got a little bit of time.” She already knew what he would ask. Many people were unsure of the inner workings of everything that she did. She kept it that way on purpose. The less people knew of the grand picture, the more likely plans kept in motion regardless of whatever transpired with her. She glanced over at Ve as he processed how he would start.

“You said on Outer Haven that the Alliance would have to take full control over the station in order for it to be successful… What gives you such insights?” She now leaned back and looked up at the hull of the ship. “Places like Outer Haven that have been overrun by criminal activity that’s so blatantly open have a hard time transitioning. Everyone that’s there depends upon some form of the activity that was going on. To remove the activity like the Alliance is attempting to do will do one of two things. It will revert back to it’s prior state within two months after the Alliance leaves…. Or everyone who lived there dies off or leaves in search of what they need. A full occupation is the only way to secure a stable way of life. Liberating places like that do more damage to life without a takeover plan in place.”

Zalis now pulled her feet off the control board and looked at Ve directly in the eye. “Every action has a reaction. Whether for good or evil intents. The Alliance wants to remove criminal activity in hives like Outer Haven. But to do so without fully taking control and possession over the place… kills the life that they spare.” The Yarkora turned his head to look outwards towards the streaking starline of hyperspace to think for a moment. After a good ten seconds passed, he turned and quickly asked a new question. “You had me broadcast a Czerka beacon to the Alliance fleet… What was it?"

Zalis now offered up a very wild grin. “Czerka still falls under the business bureau, which does business with everyone. The Sith Empire, the Alliance and everyone who needs supplies from major companies. Under the business bureau, all goods get reimbursed when a loss takes place. The Yarrock we’re currently carrying from Iridonia is worth somewhere between forty-five to sixty-five million credits. If we are delayed in getting it to Healthidrive, a company of which I own, or if it’s lost, under the beacon will be known of the loss. And with such information, the Alliance would have to respond one of three ways. Pay the costs outright to Czerka. Resupply the goods, and we both know they’d never do that. Or they allow themselves to get blacklisted from Czerka.” She now returned to her position of putting her feet up. “While getting blacklisted doesn’t sound bad, especially from a company that they ‘know’ has ties to Black Sun… Czerka supplies a good twenty five percent of the daily operations to the Alliance. I know this, because I check the books regularly.”

Ve Livan let out a sigh and turned back towards the starlines before him. “So you’ve managed to put yourself in a position that’s almost untouchable…” Zalis wiggled around slightly. “I wouldn’t say untouchable. Just in a position where there would always be consequences for taking actions against me. There is plenty of room to be caught and pinned down for other things. Like actually getting caught on Outer Haven without any purpose in being there.” Ve slowly nodded his head and touched a few things on the console before him. He suddenly out of the blue just asked what Zalis was sure was his final question. “What’s Grooming Station?”

“Groom station is a location on Ord Mantell. It’s used to process supplies that come in, make them untraceable, and then prepare them for being redistributed out to whichever company under the umbrella needs them. Right now, it’s Healthidrive. We need to get them quickly in order to make sure the Alliance stays off our back.” There was a beeping from the console. “Speaking of which, it looks like we’re almost there…”

Aboard his flagship the 'Fangs Of Chaos', Akheron stood within the observation bay of the training area that stood before him. A area designed to test many different types of Sith to their limits. It was located at the back of the ship, a previous hangar that had been converted. Now it would withstand almost anything. As the streaks of hyperspace passed by the window, he wondered what awaited on Aaris III.

Soon all would be revealed no doubt. Below, he heard the Mutated Acklay's roaring at each other and anyone close to the pens in which they were currently securely locked inside. At least temporarily, they would soon find release. Speaking over a hologram, Akheron contacted his apprentice.

It was time to truly begin.

"My apprentice, report to Bay 5, it's especially converted for our purposes. Your true training begins."

Once he arrived he would be greeted by a great empty dark room, at first glance, aside from the Mutated Acklay's, albeit it was far from empty or deserted. He would note these Acklay lacked eyesight, and appeared to rely on sounds and vibration to detect others and seek prey.

“Come come Tear, can’t be late!” Solus briskly moved down the hallway while snapping his metal fingers. Tear growled as the Sith Hound barely kept up, its claws clicking on the metal floors.

“Oh it’s fine? It’s fine you say?” Solus mocked the hound, waving a hand. A few Linnorms stepped aside seeing the Dragon approach. The Sith apprentice had taken the new title well, and already had commanded with more authority than before. And the Linnorms knew it

“Fine is my master being impressed with my work.” Solus continued, not even noticing the Linnorms stepping out of the way. “Fine is killing someone in service to the Fanged God. Being on time is not fine in of itself, and being late is worse, so we will not be late!”

Tear seemed to roll his eyes and growled again, uncaring for the little things its master worried about.

However, Solus couldn’t help but stop at one corner. The hallways metal interior provided several points of polished reflection, and the Shard couldn’t help but stare at the image that looked back at him.

A chuckle came from the voicebox. “Ah, I can hardly believe it Tear. Just think, I used to be some rock in a cave. A piece of shrapnal. And now, I am more. Much more. The Dragon. Can you believe it?”

Tear didn’t say anything, but instead simply stopped and looked at the reflection as well. This silence carried on for a few moments, as the Shard continued to study his own reflection over and over again. He even began to lift a hand as if to feel his newly made ‘face’ as he had seen so many of the other organics do, despite the fact that his chassis’ sensors already allowed him to feel his face by instinct alone.  Was this pride he felt? The sin that his Father, Lord Roshan, used as a connection to the Force? What a glorious feeling it was!

“Come come, lets get moving!” Solus shook himself and made his way again. As he left, the Linnorms breathed a sigh of relief and carried on with their own work.
Finally, the two entered the chamber, and the Shard’s full attention was immediately drawn to the Acklays.

“My, my my, what beautiful things!” Solus admired out loud, taking a few steps closer to them, but still keeping a safe distance. Perhaps it was the recent vision of the spider thing during his lightsaber making, or the fact that the beasts were huge and monstrous looking, but Solus couldn’t help but immediately fall in love with them. Another step forward and Solus had to stop as the nearest Acklay shrieked and snapped from behind their pens. Tear however stood at the doorway, watching carefully.

Solus looked up towards where he felt the cloud of red anger was coming from, and gave a slight bow.

“My master, I am here. What are these amazing things?”

Akheron looked upon his apprentice, feeling his Pride at his new position, however he knew it was far from over. Now he would be truly broken and remade, both physically and mentally. He would mold him into a dagger in the dark, a shadow of death that was the Sith Assassin. But to follow in such footsteps would require the greatest of sacrifices.

As the Shard would soon see. Motioning for Solus to step back to the back of the room, he spoke as he activated several buttons on a console. A rumbling sound occurred as several sections of the room shifted their former shape. In their place stood several elevated sections, some with pillars that cast shadows, others without and other sections were low.

The Mutated Acklay of which there were 3, were now spread out on different sections. One below in a darkened pit, another on a elevated position and the last stood towards the end of the now labyrinth looking set up. Inbetween several of the now tight corridors and hallways were several traps triggered by fast movement, vibrations.

"Welcome my apprentice, I trust you rested well. Today, on this moment your true training begins. In this room shall you begin learning the skills needed to become one with the shadows and strike without anyone ever knowing you were there. To mask yourself in the dark as with the greatest of Sith Assassins of times past. Despite his flaws Darth Nyrys predecessor, Darth Exodus, The Spider himself was said to be such a Assassin.

Whether you reach such heights time will tell. For now your first steps remain, that said let us begin. To become one with the dark you must learn to quiet your steps, the natural rhythms of your body. To move with silence and strike without sound. Pass through this labyrinth without making a sound where possible, these are Acklay that have been mutated...adapted via Alchemy to sense through sound and vibrations. Move too fast, too loud or make too much noise and vibrations and they shall attack.

Despite lack of sight, make no mistake they are deadly and never to be taken lightly.

Your task is to attempt to pass silently, use the shadows and strike them down and any gungan warriors in the maze. They are promised freedom in exchange for taking part in what they believe is a gladiator games. You may begin when ready, however make a sound and you fail. As you know such failure will have consequences. May the Darkness and the Fanged God guide you true."

Solus looked in curiosity as the room altered itself to become the labyrinthine chamber his master desired. From above, Akheron could witness everything easily, but for Solus, walls, pillars and sections of elevated floor now blocked most of Solus' eyesight.

The instructions sounded simple enough, Solus mused to himself as he disposed of the robe on his body. Use stealth and kill without being heard. An interesting challenge to say the least, but not as difficult as his master made it sound out to be. Then again, the shard suspected there was more to this challenge besides blinded Acklay and gungans and no sound.

Solus gave another bow to his Master in the observation area, and began his work.

The first steps were the easiest, and the most educational. Not used to trying to be stealthy, Solus made adjustments as he moved. Using the balls of his feet over the heel, being in a permanent crouch position, even lowering his own power settings to reduce the potential noise his circuits made.

Solus stopped as he peeked around a corner. The passageway ahead of him was plain and abandoned, save for two Gungans holding spears walking away from him. Several paths broke off the central way, but otherwise there was only darkness.

This is too easy, Solus thought to himself.

The memory of the Naboo Abyss, and the time of being swallowed whole, flashed to the forefront of his memory.

Not wanting to repeat history, Solus peered into the Impossible Geometries, conjured his Envy up, and threw the little lines out around him. He almost chuckled when he saw that a few feet in front of him and all along down the hall up to behind the Gungan warriors, several metal wires connected  a multitude of pressure sensors to blade attachments hidden in the wall.

Thankfully, the sensors were well separated. Separated enough for the Shard to tip-toe between them, closer and closer to the two Gungans.

That's it you idiots… Solus mused silently as one foot deftly moved over a pressure pad. Keep looking that way, and all will be fine, just don’t…

One of the Gungans paused and began to turn around.

Kriff

With only seconds to act, Solus leapt sideways into a branching hallway. Coming to a complete stop at the corner, Solus froze in a kneeling position, avoiding any possible sound. Still, the Gungan sensed or heard something, as he got his partner’s attention and began to walk in Solus' direction.

Solus smiled inwardly as a cruel idea popped into his shard. Silently from behind his corner, Solus reached his framework hand out towards the leading Gungan, and pulled.

The Gungan lurched as if chains had grabbed his head and pulled forward onto a pressure plate. With a click and buzz, a spinning blade emerged from the wall and swiftly shot out, separating the Gungan’s head from its body.

The other Gungan froze in fear, clutching his blaster rifle that had been given to him at the start.

Then the roar occurred.

The nearby ground shook slightly as with each thud, the monster known as the Acklay came closer. Solus saw it first, as it came directly down the hallway he was in. Having to think fast, Solus pressed himself into the wall as the Mantis-like thing’s claws passed inches from his metal chassis.

The Acklay, blind as it was, went directly for where the body was heard being sliced apart. The other Gungan, now terrorized, screamed and broke into a sprint. Solus could have sworn that the razor-sharp teeth of the thing were smiling as it heard exactly where the Gungan ran to.

Solus watched the entire chase from the Impossible Geometries. The Gungan only got a few paces away before he himself fell victim to another buzz-saw. However, he wasn’t as lucky as his partner, as the saw only chopped off a leg this time, leaving him vulnerable to the Acklays claws to stab, rip, and tear apart to be eaten.

As humorous as it was for the Shard, Solus realized his main goal of the three Acklay still needed to be done. Again, Solus reached out into the Impossible Geometries and began to work his magic. Akheron said Solus needed to remain silent and invisible. And with the powers of the Force, he would do just that.

The Acklay was a massive creature, and now was in a hallway filled with traps. It was a wonder it didn’t activate any of them itself, but Solus would fix that. In the Impossible geometries, Solus’ lines of envy wrapped around the decapitated Gungan’s head, and began to drag it across the ground.

The vibrations did the trick, as the Acklay, now done with its meal, took notice. Curious and still hungry, it began its march back to the head. Solus almost cursed out loud, as each step the Acklay took, it avoided a pressure plate. Frustrated, Solus released the skull and focused on the nearest pressure plate to the Acklay and pushed down.

The saw swung out and nicked the Aklays forward front claw. The monster, surprised and momentarily blinded by the sudden noise and vibrations, took a few steps back, bumping into a wall and inadvertently stepping on another plate. Again, another saw came out, slicing through a back appendage. The Acklay shrieked and tried to step away from this new blade. Solus repeated the trick again, pushing on the next pressure plate that had the Acklay in range, if barely. And again, the process would repeat, over and over again.

Soon, the Acklay collapsed in a mass of cut and broken skin, sliced tendons, and carved bones. Still roaring and hissing in pain, it proved it remained alive.

Not for long... Solus thought to himself as he stepped out from his hiding spot and made his way, moving under some still spinning blades and around others. With all the saws active, the noises he made were almost nothing in this tight area. To this blinded creature, he was invisible.

The monster didn’t even know when the lightsaber was held underneath its head, until the blade was activated.

With a quick deactivation, Solus stepped from the monster to admire his handiwork. Then he turned around and continued on his way.

One down. Two to go
