Zero
Hooray! This first song is the first song on a new concept i'm currently working on. If you followed my fanfiction trilogy, you may recognize alot of the subject matter I plan on going over. Keep in mind, these are all rough drafts, and not completed songs. First up: Our Story, Legend It was a cold mid-year afternoon The sound of bombs falling on the dirt Sons and brothers, all are dying soon Lost to the unnecessary war Advanced weapon systems ready This uncivilized and dirty world Mr. Gunner, keep your finger steady On the godless savage men [chorus] Sinners, blasphemers, this is what we are Unaware that we've been doing any wrong Judged by the laser-hand of their furious, angry god The woman and children too, they have charged us all We've done nothing against your king Only curious of your kind Repaid with death and the sorrow that it brings Our demise promised with the reunion with your divine We know the one true path Your children will be taught the same We will burn all reference of your past And give you respectable names [repeat chorus] The foul air now recedes New identities are embraced We fight your wars from sea to sea Our past hidden in a legend To remember what we faced. ------- I always hope my lyrics relate to people, so let me know what you think it is about. I'll put my meaning in small type. This song is about intolerance of religion. The type of people who believe that only their religion is the one true religion. It reflects on the Native and African Americans in this country who have had their religion taken away and now 'fight our wars' while at the same time, remembering their heritage. Giving respectable names refers also to the aforementioned races and also immigrants of all nationalities who had their names changed when they came to this country. In short, this song is about religious prosecution and the cruel methods of Americanization. Parallels II: Ghost of the Force
Silas
Interesting no doubt. I actually like it a lot, though its generally not the kind of music I would choose to listen to. Do you have an like music for it? I'd be interested in a copy of that so I could hear what it sounds like, even though this is just a rough draft. If you ever to put it to music, send me a copy of it, I'd enjoy hearing what it sounds like. Zero
I have some music written for it, but unfortunately, i don't have my pedal, and thus can't record anything. I will make sure to post what I can when I can. I can PM you a link to my band's myspace to give you a vague idea of the music we play, if you're interested. A New Generation I roam from place to place Seeking the unknown Searching for a family That I could call my own. I've been roaming for so long Brothers and sisters gone Bright new day, a new bed tonight My search continues Mu future comes in sight. [chorus] My life changed on this day For the better, or for the worst I cannot say. To befriend a stranger To find the answers Changed forever Changed forever I was no older, as I recall Then this girl I was to protect It was in her mother's will, that's all To be protected from a frightening world A place with such evil and promise in the stars A nice big house Grand walls that recluse Not a soul to share it with, Or someone to give in to [repeat chorus] A slight transition Oblivious to her nature Choke back my ambitions Is this place my future? His blood is on my hands An attempt to hurt the girl Shot down in a blaze of fire To befriend a stranger My life was saved today To befriend a stranger Everything is turning gray... [repeat chorus] ----------- This one is the introduction of the protagonist. For as long as he can remember, he's had no family and goes from job to job while trying to find them. His next job changes everything for him though. He meets a stranger and receives the job to be her bodyguard. While on the job, he kills a man and his life is saved by the antagonist, the other stranger. The main character feels strangely drawn to the woman, but keeps himself from getting close. I'm not happy with the second verse, and need to find a better way to describe that part of the story in lyrics. Lord of Deception (Part 1) A guardian of great promise Your friend should be dead Overtaken by reckless intent Be mindful of your words I know your secrets. An instrument for my ends An ally and student To carry on my plans -------- This could be considered an interlude. It's not designed to be very musically intense. The antagonist has a conversation with the woman the main character is protecting. He explains that main character is lucky to be alive after the gunfight with the man he killed. The woman doesn't like his tone, but he tells her to watch what she says, or he will tell the protagonist something she wishes to keep secret. The antagonist plans to mold the main character in his image to achieve his evil goals. Parallels II: Ghost of the Force
Zero
More: Healing Nature I'm lying right here, staring away I can't find the strength, to speak what I say My head's banging forward Back and back again, it's taking me away Of such healing nature, it's taking me away again Fighting for this cure, it's taken me over again [chorus] And we lie to our heads Yet we'll die in our beds (of such healing nature) Now the light's getting colder And the night's almost over We will fall into it again Now the time has come upon us Sealing the wound with a chord We fall into darkness Our sanctuary of peace I'm falling outside and I can't figure out This insanity, this brightness and vanity I've fallen down, and it picks me back up It sets me back on my feet and dusts me off [repeat chorus] And the night's almost over”¦ And the sky's getting older”¦ We will fall into it again. And the night's almost over And the sky's getting older We will fall into it again And we lie to our heads Yet we'll die in our beds [solo] [repeat chorus] And we'll lie And we'll die The sun's getting colder The fire is slower It's taken me over again ----- In it's most simplest form, this song is about music, and the healing properties it can have. Head banging forward and sealing the wound with a (guitar) chord are the most explicit references. At this point in time, the main character is in a coma. Lord of Deception (Part 2) Time to wake up, it's a beautiful day Mr. Guardian, it's a wonderful day No need to speak, I know what you need To finish your work, but I disagree Come with me and you will gain much more Wealth, power, and adoration galore An instrument for my ends An ally and student To carry on my plans I can't live unknowingly Of what could have been I can't go, surely you must see I must stay here, to continue my search Our paths were meant to cross One day you'll see. The fortunes you've declined Next gloomy day, when you find me You'll be wise to change your mind An instrument for my ends An ally and student To carry on my plans ------ The main character comes to and is greeted by the man that saved his life. He knows what my goals are, but insists I come with him instead. He does not take well to rejection. Parallels II: Ghost of the Force
