Amaranth, the Obelisk

The obelisk was an ancient Sith artifact, dating back to c. 14,000 BBY. This particular obelisk was housed on the planet of Krayiss II, and was used as the gateway for accessing one of the most ancient and revered libraries of the Sith. Many wanderers from far and wide, have ventured to the temple in search of this knowledge buried by many legendary Sith and the forces of the Dark Side. Both practitioners of the Dark and the Light side of the Force have stood before the obelisk and have attempted to claim their worthiness in order to seduce the vast knowledge within the temple walls. The many decades of exploitation from the outside world has allowed a remarkable entity to birth itself in and of the obelisk. This dark spirited entity is known as Amaranth and it has bloomed from the bowels of the Library to further protect its wealth of power.

* The Ancient Sith Library

Located near the planet's equator, the Ancient Sith Library remains entombed in the rocky surface of Krayiss II. The lone indicator of the temple's existence appears in the form of a narrow tapering monument with a pyramidal architecture. Covered in Sith Runes, the obelisk serves as the gateway to elevating the sacred library from the depth of the planet. Once raised, the library superstructure consists of angled walls, pyramidal towers, and massive doors at the structure's center made of a black stone of unknown origin. The massive doors are carved with ancient Sith runic scripture and writings and protected by the very same entity that allows the temple to raise or remain buried. The interior of the library superstructure holds the results of over ten thousand years of Sith experimentation by Sorcerers. Scrolls, Holocrons, and legendary heirlooms/artifacts litter the halls of the immaculately preserved facility. Steeped in the Dark Side of the Force, many of the items are tainted with the power of their originator's soul and possess the capability to consume the will of those who trespass upon them.

History:

Krayiss II was a planet in the Outer Rim, in the remote Sith Worlds region of the Stygian Caldera Nebula. Connected to other nearby worlds by the Nache Bhelfia hyperlane, Krayiss II is considered as one of the most sacred Sith planets in existence. In ancient times, Krayiss II was home to a massive library fortress that was held as a place of meditation and study for Sith sorcerers. However, after 14,000 BBY it was buried and largely forgotten, with its large obelisk being all that remained above ground. Many Sith and Jedi alike have visited and attempted to absorb the knowledge buried within the depths of the planet, and as such an entity birthed of the Dark is rumored to now dwell within the Obelisk, guarding the secrets much closer. Malicious spirits are the fauna of the world, and they wander these barren plains in search of their next victim.

Old description:

Krayiss II was a planet in the Krayiss system, apparently within the former Sith Empire. A Sith library-temple was built there 14,000 BBY. Jev Sunrider died fighting the Dark Side there in the year 4,009 BBY, with fellow Jedi Vara Nreem likewise slain by a Sith spirit on the planet during the Great Sith War, in the year 3,997 BBY.

(From Space)

The Laayla came out of hyperspace and Mindan set into an orbital course to get a good overview of the entire planet. There appeared to be a wide variety of landscapes on the planet. From desolate barren looking desert to lush green jungle. Scanning with the long range sensors, Mindan identified a few structures dotted here and there that appeared to be remnants only of previous inhabitants. No doubt these were the Sith Lords who once ruled over this portion of the galaxy. Mindan saw that the planet had 2 moons in orbit, and that these were fairly large themselves. One, according to the scanners was approximately three thousand kilometres in diameter and was a dead rock.

Will have to be checked for mineral content thought Mindan to himself. The other satellite however was approximately six thousand kilometres in diameter, and it appeared to be a mountainous moon with steppes and large grassy plains. There was no surface water bodies, but according to the scanners there was a thin atmosphere Not enough to support life without some assistance, but an atmosphere nonetheless.

The two moons orbited opposite each other, meaning that there would always be a moon visible regardless of where you were on the planet or the time of day.

Turning his sensors back to the planet. Mindan scanned for land that was suitable for his purposes. Finding it Mindan entered the co-ordinates into his computer. It was at the end of a spine-like mountainous ridge that ran down the eastern side of one of the landmasses. It curled slightly inland right at the southern end and appeared to be only a few hundred kilometres from the coast. The inland side of the mountain ranges was flat open plains that stretched for hundreds of kilometres before slowly turning into jungle land to the south and volcanically created desolation to the north. Settin into a geosynchronous orbit, Mindan settled in to measure the day/night cycle time. Changing his mind, Mindan left Crow on the flight deck to watch the scanners and with orders to wake him should anything happen. Making his way to his personal quarters, Mindan undressed and lay down on his sleep lounge and drifted into unconsciousness.

When Mindan awoke, feelign much refreshed, and made his way to the flight deck, Crow showed him the data that had been gathered over night. The dead moon turned once every twelve standard hours. The larger of the two, however rotated once every eighteen hours. The planet itself however rotated once every thirty six standard hours.

Satisfied with the data he had collected, Mindan turned and entered hyperspace again.

  • 1 month later...

He suddenly emerged from hyperspace, after a brief glance at his sensors, he determined that he had indeed come to the right place. He coudl feel it, like a calling in the force, that which lay his true target.

He was still suprised that the Black Sun had agreeded to this Planet, it was after all way out in the middle of no where, and moost likley hadn't seen a visitor since the recent appearance of Mindan.

He sighed, the dark energy called faintly to him, no doubt when he actually hit the atmosphere he woudl truly feel it. He adjusted his coordinates, he had come up around the coordinates that Mindan had gave him, so he should be able to find this place that Mindan had found early.

He re-checked his read outs before setting his course. Soon he came up upon the area it was at the end of a spine-like mountainous ridge that ran down the eastern side of one of the landmasses. It curled slightly inland right at the southern end and appeared to be only a few hundred kilometres from the coast.

After a a lazy loop aronud the general area, he found a suitable spot to land. Guiding his ship he he leaned back in his chair as the ship made contact with the land.

Oh he could feel it, that which had called him in a way, begging to be remembered by at least a single individual. He had no idea why he had detected it, but he had. He checked his armor over, this atmosphere was thin, it wouldn't be able to support him unaided. Lucky he had an air reserve in his suit, he would bring a refil on his back, and use the force to slow down his breathing to a degree, with any lucky, he wouldn't have to use his air reserve that was built in, or replace it. Though it never hurt to be prepared.

Securing a canister of air, that he could inject into his suit if need be, and there by refill his reserves, he popped open the hatch and meet the strange landscape that lay before him.

He began recording, as always, and stepped onto the long forgotten rock.

He spent quite a few hours in search of that which he couild feel. Mainly because he continually felt the need to poke inside the ancient structures that dotted teh area around him. From what he could tell, these structures predated the current government, though with the state of upheval that the galaxy was in, that wasn't too suprising. He woudl figure they were at least dated back to old republic time, way Old republic, but never the less the old republic. Though the design was unfamiliar.

He continued to use the force to control his breathing and cause him to use far less oxygen than what he would normally need, though with the thin oxygen and the strange terrian it was still difficult going.

Son he found it, a place steeped in the Dark side of the force, interestingly enough it had proved to only be ablut two kilometers from his point of landing. Never the less it stood before him, a testimony to the arrogance that the Dark Side could bring. He glanced up, this place teemed with the Dark side, yet he felt no true danger from the place, perhaps it was one of the few places in the gamaxy that the Sith had left their mark with out laying out some traps.

He pushed throguh and entered the gloom.

He soon found himself in a rather large hall that only happened to have a huge statues lining the sides. He was intrigued by stale air that nearly penatrated his filtration system. He was lucky, taking w whiff of old and forgotten things could as always be detrimental to one's health.

He moved forward and soon entered a large orp erhaps a very spacious area filled with what could only be determined as old parchment scrolls. This was a strange devlopment. Actually pen and paper had been put down to record this information. That made this all the more intersting yet all the more dangerous. Though that was not the only way the data had been recorded, he saw ancient devices that reminded him of datapads, and he wouldn't be surpised if they were. He sighed, he went over to examine a scroll only to find it made of a remarkable strength. it would have to be handled carefully, yet it was still strong enough to handle being tampered with. Yet this wasn't all of it. he wondered if perhaps one of the ancient holocrons existed here. It would be a remarkable devlopment.

He prepared himself, he could tell he would be in here for quite some time if he was going to complete his assigned mission.

Slicer paused, in the middle of his research, he was not only researching certain itme,s but also documenting and cataloging all he could find. He had a rather immpressive list in his mind anyway. He had been beaming most of it back to his ship, since it had a far larger storage capacity then his armor did, when it came to information.

He scrolled through the text based message and slowly stood up. It would seem, he would have to attend to more urgent business at the moment. He almost let a smile appear on his lips. Sounded like what was in store for him could be a bit of fun.

He saved a file, encoded it and slowly walked out. Itw as better to strech then to stay amongst the dusty volumes of arcaine Sith Knowledge anyway.

He could have flown back, he could have indudlged in his reserve air supply, instead he simply called his ship to him.

Standing outside the ancient old building he calmly waited, with in moments his ship came to him. He turned and used the force to shutly close the doors. He wasn't sure what the fresh air would have done to the knowledge inside. Then a gain he had doubted any had gotten in, given the rather large hallway. Even if there had been a contimantion in some way, there wouldn't have been enough of it to do anything. Never the less he closed the large door shutly and then boarded the ramp to his ship.

Moments later he had disappered off the world, streaking into hyperspace.

The CelCon representatives medium size cruiser came out of hyperspace above the orb that was Krayiss II. Directing the captain to the appropriate landing codes, the CelCon representative passed the comm message onto the headquarters on Coruscant. Sending out a comm message, The Cel Con captain set the ship into station holding mode until the Black Sun rep contaced them with further instructions.

"I have been sent here by the CEO of CelCon to negotiate with you to provide security and safety for shipyards within our Business Empire. Is Black Sun capable of providing this security?"

The Black Sun representative thought over what his opposite from CelCon had told him the conditions.

"Black Sun would happily provide your security arrangements. However there are some strict conditions which must be adhered to. Firstly the location of the new shipyards, " The Black Sun rep continues as he heard a breath of shock come from his opposite number "yes, thats right, you will have to build new shipyards and no-one within your organisation will know the location beyond the CEO and yourself. We will run the shipyard with our own men, and hence we will be able to guarantee the security as no-one beyond yourself outside of the organisation. Send us the orders, to Dubrillion, and we will deliver them to Coruscant upon completion for collection by your customers. Payment, we do nothing for free of course, will be in kind. Ships will be built for us, at no charge. If anyof these conditions are unacceptable, there is no deal. Return to your boss and inform him accordingly. Send us notification of your acceptance to the Citadel on Coruscant."

--Comm to Mindan--

Recieving the Second in Command's message, Celestial Construction began to build the first ship in the fleet, waiting on confirmation on the nine others. The first ship to go up would be a MC90a Star Cruiser, acting as the Black Sun flagship.

CelCon had access to many specs, and used them to produce ships that others had built. Now that they were contracting with an underground criminal organization, they didn't care.

Now construction had begun on the MC90a Star Cruiser, and two Scythe-Class warships. It would take a standard week for the ships to be completed, then sent to Dubrillion.

((Sorry about the awkward post. I will fix it when I have more time. It will be more descriptive and such. I am also waiting on some conformatino from Hallie.))

The Laayla exited hyperspace and Mindan looked down over Krayiss II and its moons and sighed. He wasn't sure why he was here. He was looking for a retreat, somewhere to release this tension from within before it exploded.

As Mindan brings his ship through the space around Krayiss II, he can see the shipyards turning out ships for the new Black Sun fleet, and other clients.

Making his way into the atmosphere, he brings his ship down into the northern regions, marked by wastelands, rocky outcrops and a vast network of caves that ran underground.

Mindan stood on a rocky outcropping, his jacket swirling about him with the wind and looked out over the plains below him.he decided he would build his retreat here. Nestling it into the base of the rocky cliffs it would be safe and would also give him access to the internal network or caves to develop for whatever purposes he deemed fit.

As the flagship, the Crimson Rising, exited hyperspace, soon followed by the rest of the fleet, less three that were left for other purposes, men were deployed to the necessary positions, all defenses going online and ready.

At the helm of the Black Sun aramada was Vigo Canderous Bralor of the Clan Ordo, a Mandalorian in his own right. Sending out a comm to the Celestial Construction Company, Canderous readied for the upcoming fight.

Comm to Celestial Construction Co.

-----------------------------------------------------

This is Vigo Canderous Bralor of the Black Sun. I have orders from Jacen and Mindan that you are to keep pumping out those Golan Defense Platforms. It seems we will soon be under attack, so i suggest getting out those who don't wish to take the chance of dieing out of here.

- Canderous Bralor

---------------------------------------------------

End Comm

Awaiting the other, Canderous keep pushing out orders, reading his men for anything. If someone wanted a fight this day, then by golly, he would dish them one out.
