Golden Link Casino

Astrographical Information

Mobile Space Station

Grid Coordinates: K-8

Physical Information

Shaped like a giant roulette wheel, the Golden Link Casino spins through the far reaches of space, providing a meeting place and entertainment for the galactic populace. Featuring a grand casino, luxury hotel resort, and an amusement park, this mobile casino-headquarters for the Link can accommodate an armada of passenger ships and liners from all reaches of space. While mostly a place of business, it also provides a more or less neutral meeting grounds for all sorts of characters and galactic intrigue.

The over all design is that of a massive roulette table, spinning eternally in space. It's flanked by a series of docks and bright, neon signs.

The basic design is catchy and appealing. The various ads are holo projections from special emitters. You can do flat out signs or holocasts and earn additional ad revenue right off the bat. There's be a few free floating sign boards, which in addition to being ads, would include concealed long range sensors and small laser weapons systems.

There are a series of hangars along the rim of the docks. The central spindle of the wheel running from top to bottom also carries hangars. There's ample docking for up to even 2 capital class ships, which can include luxury liners and other massive space transports. In addition, there is a series of droid automated repair and service centers. The lower docks on the bottom of the wheel for maintenance craft and cargos, and other service projects. There are a few more defenses there- bioscans and others, as well as tractor beams which can aid in removing debris, et cetra.

Just past the casino area, there are a series of dining establishments and shops. Souvenir shops, restaurants, sushi bars, and commercial chains-- it's all there.

In the upper levels: Herein are hotel and conference rooms, as well as administrative posts for the Link personnel’s private offices and luxury suites for the Link big-wigs. In addition, staff and other housing can be found here, along with a small medical center.

There's enough amusements including a gravity & water park here to entertain an entire family besides the gambling. There is a giant arcade, a special shooting gallery, ghost hotel, and large bird races there to boot, as well as a holographic funhouse section.

The interior segments around the central spindle: Here are the casinos proper. Every game you can imagine from sabacc to dragon poker is here. More adult bars, and clubs are littered at even intervals around the ring to keep our target customer base inside. Specialized harmonics in the build of the vessel nullify all Force-use in the area. Below the casinos near the central axis are a series of enclosed rings for races- birds, blobs, and along the very top of the roulette table, covered by a transparisteel half tube, is a special pod race track.

Finally, the central axis: The bottom portions are closed off, running the engines and other technical controls- climate, shields, etc., while the very top three levels hold a magnificent domed park, open to the stars and filled with the most romantic spots on the whole ship- featuring an "open air" cafe' and a giant dance stage.

The innermost portion of the axis is heavily armored and shielded: Inside is the central safe. The roulette wheel has four hidden planetary turbo lasers at the cardinal points, and as the wheel spins, it can fire them off. There are cameras and security droids along with the other server and dealer droids, and over 10 meters of durasteel lined with cortosis keep the central safe area safe. There's a special gravity lock system that keeps the Link's holdings in a kind of pocket dimension, making it nearly impossible to steal.

The daily workings of the station are controlled by an AI called Idarah.

Societal Information

Faction Affiliation: neutral

Defense Rating: Level 3

On-board security procedures include:

-A retinal scan authenticated accounting system, seconded with a special scanner for finger prints and a verbal access code to make the security pre-eminent.

-Entrances are now refitted with bio scans and sensor scans at every entrance- now able to detect power sources, explosives. To neutralize this each of the threats- particularly automated laser traps embedded deep in the durasteel walls.

-Larger weaponry inside the hangar bays and docks- smaller ship laser cannons and ion guns to discourage ships from being a problem or escaping. The ante is upped for the defenses in the neon-holo signs and advertisements orbitting the Link, again to discourage attack.

-New rules are listed to weapons sellers, enforcing the fact the Link is a neutral zone, including:

* All weapons will have to have their power sources removed before entering.

* All weapons we sell will be sold without power sources (we can have a shop outside the entrance which will give the customers their power source if they provide a ticket from the gunshop inside, this shop will also have heavy security measures)

Finally, a couple measures tweak the Link's hyperdrive system so as to ensure its reliability and speed, along with regular maintenance for its turbolaser towers, so all possible angles can be covered.

Finally, a special detention center is created- durasteel and cortosis, all set to the force dampening harmonics field found in the casino proper to make it sturdy enough to hold FUs and NFUs that create problems for the establishment.

JediRP Canon History: The most famous event occurring on the Golden Link Casino was the grand heist of its main vault by a team of infiltrators, including Ganelon of Seneferia, Bekka, John Skywalker, Slicer, and Marcas Fracas).

The casino was eventually sold to Black Sun, the computers wiped, the vault emptied, and the Link’s ties to the station dissolved.

From KVC's design dossier on the Golden Link Casino:

The over all design is that of a massive roulette table, spinning eternally in space. It's flanked by a series of docks and bright, neon signs.

First off, you have the basic design: Catchy and appealing. The various adds are holo projections from special emitters. You can do flat out signs or holocasts and earn additional ad revenue right off the bat. There's be a few free floating sign boards, which in addition to being adds, would include concealed long range sensors and small laser weapons systems.

The outer shell turns translucent and fades away, showing the interior of the casino-craft.

The image fades away yet again, showing a series of dining establishments and shops just past the casino area. It's basic fare: Souvenir shops, restaurants, sushi bars, and commercial chains, but it's all there.

The upper levels of the wheel are shown now: Herein are hotel and conference rooms, as well as administrative posts for your own private offices. I've reserved a few luxury sweets for your own private use so this new home will be comfortable. In addition, staff and other housing can be found here, along with a small medical center. There's enough amusements including a gravity & water park here to entertain an entire family besides the gambling. We even have a giant arcade, a special shooting gallery, ghost hotel, and large bird races there to boot, though breeding those damn birds can be a pain in the arse. I've also added on a holographic funhouse section. This will attract additional revenue from tourists too and could be considered a drain on the primary focus of gambling. Still, if the kiddies are at play, it'll be easier to lure mommy and daddy into the casinos.

The interior segments are now shown around the central spindle: Here are the casinos proper. Every game you can imagine from sabacc to dragon poker is here. More adult bars, and clubs are littered at even intervals around the ring to keep our target customer base inside. I'm working on a specialized harmonics field with the engines, that in addition to keeping the gravity going, also nerfs all force use inside the place. This will make the games a bit more balanced. You have cameras and special sensors to prevent cheating. Below the casinos near the central axis are a series of enclosed rings for races- those birds, blobs, and along the very top of the roulette table, covered by a glassteel half tube, is a special pod race track.

Finally, the central axis is shown in detail: The bottom portions are closed off, running the engines and other technical controls- climate, shields, etc., while the very top three levels hold a magnificent, domed park, open to the stars and filled with the most romantic spots on the whole ship- featuring an "open air" cafe' and a giant dance stage.

The innermost portion of the axis is heavily armored and shielded: Inside is the central safe. I've studied the matter carefully and come up with a nearly fool proof security system. The roulette wheel has four hidden planetary turbo lasers at the cardinal points, and as the wheel spins, it can fire them off. There are cameras and security droids along with the other server and dealer droids, and over 10 meters of durasteel lined with cortosis keep the central safe area well... safe. There's a special gravity lock system that keeps the Link's holdings in a kind of pocket dimension, making it nearly impossible to steal.

The first post here goes to Zara or Kat Nargal.

Per agreement, a few modifications are made to the Link Casino through its more or less silent partner in the venture.

A retinal scan authenticated accounting system, seconded with a special scanner for finger prints and a verbal access code to make the security pre-eminent.

Entrances are now refitted with bio scans and sensor scans at every entrance- now able to detect power sources, explosives. To neutralize this each of the threats- particularly automated laser traps embedded deep in the durasteel walls.

Larger weaponry inside the hangar bays and docks- smaller ship laser cannons and ion guns to discourage ships from being a problem or escaping. The ante is upped for the defenses in the neon-holo signs and advertisements orbitting the Link, again to discourage attack.

New Rules are listed to weapons sellers, enforcing the fact the Link is a neutral zone, including:

* All weapons will have to have their power sources removed before entering.

* All weapons we sell will be sold without power sources (we can have a shop outside the entrance which will give the customer's their power source if they provide a ticket from the gunshop inside, this shop will also have heavy security measures)

The shuttle docked and the owners of the new Casino took possession. They were enthusiastically greeted by an honour guard of their new staff, Zara getting them to lead the way to their luxury suites. She was grinning ear to ear, her worry for Ronin still in the back of her mind but her main concern the new Casino. Their new home.

”œWonderful. This is great. Kheldar's out done himself again. Fantastic.”

Stumbling into the casino, he didnt really know where he was, just that it was his, and it had alot of alchohol on board. Pulling two members of staff aside, he ordered one to organise a team of 8 people to head down to the surface, and pick up the links ships, docking them in the large variety of landing platforms the casino had. Turning to the other one, he ordered a bottle of corellian whiskey, and also told the man to tell the bar man that the entire staff had unlimited access to all the drink and food they could want.

Pulling a cigar out of his coat pocket, he struck a match, and joyfully lit the think, Grinning as he inhaled his victory dance.

Heading over to the casino, he pulled out some credit chips, and lay them on a roulette table, betting on the black 15.

Heck, even if i loose, its all coming back to the business anyway.

A few hours later, Kat bumped into zara in the hallway. Grinning from ear to ear at having managed to win the first ever bet at his own casino, he gave her a hug, and promptly passed out from a massive excess of alchohol. No one, not even ronin would have handled four bottles of corellian whiskey, among all the other drinks he had been pouring down his throat.

Zara had followed Kat, belaying his orders and instructing one of the crew members to negate all his orders while he was drunk. She didn't want their Casino going to hell before it was even officially opened. She did reinforce the order to collect the ships though.

Soon she got busy exploring the various levels, meeting the various staff and getting to know a few of them, loosing track of Kat but hoping that his minder would not let him become too much of a hassel. She'd left instructions that she was to be contacted if he did get into something he shouldn't while drunk.

Running into him again later, she just shook her head at the state of him, watching as he passed out. She signalled for his minder to get help to get him into the medical centre. It was very likely that Kat would need his stomach pumped after the abuse he'd just given his liver.

"And keep him there, he needs to sober up after that little incident. I don't want him ruining this Casino before we get it off the ground"

She stood there shaking her head, not sure if she should be mad at him or not as they took him off to get seen to before turning and heading back to her luxury apartment. She was lonely and missed Ronin. Grabbing a bottle from the bar Zara sank down onto one of the comfortable lounge chairs that lined her living room, poured herself a drink. She raised it high, giving a silent salute to both the Casino and to her love, downing it in one shot before pouring herself another. She didn't normally drink alone, but she didn't feel like company just then, well, the only company she did want was far away from her somewhere and she didn't know where.

Malachi's space van emerged from hyperspace near the newly constructed casino. His large, graffiti covered star ship landed in the hangar. A small electrical fire stopped the landing gear from coming down fully. Malachi turned to his right, where a simple maintenance droid sat.

"Would you go and fix that?" Malachi asked.

"No." The droid buzzed immediately.

"But that's what I have you for."

"Screw you. Putting out electrical fires is what I have you for."

"I'm gonna to sell you."

"Bring it on, wuss!"

"You're the worst droid ever."

Malachi left his ship behind, hoping that the fire would spread and that the droid would die in it. Leaving the ship to balance on repulsers, Malachi walked past the reception desk where an exceedingly perky blonde attendant sat.

"Excuse me, sir, you have to pay the docking fee." She told him in a shrill and horrible voice.

"What if I were to tell you I owned this joint?"

"You own The Golden Link?!"

"No, but would you make me pay if I told you that I did?"

Malachi flinched, seeing her hand move slowly over to the security panel. Grudgingly he gave her the last of his credits, praying that no longer would he have listen to her voice. Sadly, though, there was quite clearly no God--because she continued.

"Would you like to purchase some chips?"

"No," Malachi began, quite defeated. "Did you see the ship I came in? Did you see the anorexic state of the wallet from which I produced the first unjust fee? Are you an intellegent being or am I better off taking to your ugly decorative trees."

Malachi walked away without giving her time to respond. He really didn't want to hear anything more from her. He could faintly smell burning circuitry before he got onto the lift up to human resources. The dark haired Malachi went up to a desk, noting a pattern in the employees. It was the same girl with darker hair, and seeing her made Malachi loose the will to exist. He cringed as she spoke.

"May I help you?"

"No. I don't think you could do a single thing that would, in any way, help me. Wait, are you capable of disappearing?"

"No."

"Then I stick to my original assertion."

Malachi could see that the girl was far too pretty to understand any of his implications, as she looked at him with utter confusion. Malachi did her a favor by stopping her before she hurt herself.

"I want a Job."

"You want a job sir? Firstly I need to know your name and I also need to see your credentials. I will have to set up an appointment with one of the Nargal's."

The secretary looked him over carefully. The sullen look on his face that seemed permanant. She wasn't certain if she should contact the Nargal's and just turn him away, only for the fact that she knew, although it was never talked about, that they had more shadier dealings did she hit the comm button to the luxury apartments above.

"Miss Nargal, there is someone down here to see you. Says he's looking for employment."

Zara answered the comm, not very coherantly from her binge,

"Tell him to come back during business hours... no... hold on. Send him to the hotel lobby, I'll come down. I want to check on Kat on the way down anyway."

"Go back to the Lobby."

Malachi groan in protest.

"I was just at the Lobby... Glad I came all the way up here and got to talk to you... That didn't suck..."

Malachi turned around and went back to the lift, aiming for the lobby. He rode the closed glass elevator back to the main floor, stepping out with his hand in his pockets. He looked around watching peons of all kinds scurry around, trying to do their jobs. He was burdened to think of how hard they were working. If one guy works hard he ruins it for everyone. Everyone was so cheery and persistent--He hated them all. He certainly didn't have to meet any of them to know it...

Zara grabbed a strong cup of caffa, downing it as quick as she could and making another, sipping on it as she headed down to meet with this ... prospective employee. She didn't think she'd ever get tired of seeing the hussel and bussel of the new complex. Their floating mini city. It was great.

She went first to the medical centre, getting another caffa while she went in to see her brother.

"Can't believe you'd get yourself in this state bro."

She went on to tell him about the man down in the lobby, what his description was and what the secretary had said regarding his wanting employment.

Arriving in the lobby she looked around, catching sight of one that looked rather surley. He fit the description she was given by the secretary so she assumed correctly that he was the one. Zara sat quietly observing how everyone interacted with him and wondering if he'd notice her and how he'd act towards her as a prospective employer. If he acted like he wanted to impress her she'd consider him for one of the shadier positions that they held. She'd discuss it with Kat.

Within the hour or two that zara had been upstairs drinking, kat had had his stomach pumped, and managed to come too. Feeling absolutely terrible, and half hearing something about an employee, he decided he was sick of this. Hitting a call button for a nurse, he was attended to instantly, seeing as he and zara were the ones paying their wages.

"I need some stimulants. Get me a medium dose of the stuff."

"Im sorry, i dont have the authority..." she was cut off by kat, who simply stood up, walked over to a medical cabinet, and pulled out some stim. Pushing the drug into a small unit, he said

"You had best tell me how much of this is a medium dose, or ill probably OD"

"Alright, alright, 50mg is plenty. Im going outside." the nurse turned and left, leaving kat to his own helpless abandon. Loading up the small auto-injector, he pressed it to the crook of his elbow, where it automatically found a vein, tapped into it painlessly, and injected the stimulants. Pulling the thing off, and rolling down his sleeve, he instantly felt the effects, becoming alert, awake, active. His head clear and his body ready for a 10 mile run, he went down stairs.

Walking up quietly behind zara, he remained quiet, simply nudging her gently with his elbow. Looking at the man in a very strange, paranoid manner, he decided to get himself out of the place. The drugs that had brought him back to life had also brought brina back to the fore of his mind, and he needed some alchohol. Somehow he didnt see this massive binge continuing too much longer, as soon as the stimulants wore off, he would completely crash out. Going down to one of the black panther, which had been brought back on board now, he dug through his old room, and found his crate of corellian whiskey, and his large box of cigars.

Carrying the bundle up to his luxury sweet, he flicked on some orchestral music, turned up the volume, grabbed a glass and some ice, and sat down, making himself a whiskey on the rocks, and sipping it slowly. Pulling out a cigar, and dipping one end in the whiskey, he lit the other end, inhaling the smoke through the alchohol. Smiling at the quality of both the alchohol and the cigar, he clipped off the whiskey soaked end, and re dipped it, repeating this over and over when the soaked end of the cigar began to taste slightly too strong.

For hours he sat like this, lost in the complexes of the music, and in his terribly disarming love of brina, drinking and smoking until finally he passed out, the bottle of whiskey, dropping to the floor, spinning on its end a few times, and finally settling standing upright. He was going to be punished the next morning, for his foolishness, and he honestly felt like he deserved it for whatever he had done to send brina away from him.

Malachi stood in the center of the room with this hands in his pockets, expecting somebody to come up and ruin his day further.

Maybe I'll get a good job, like firing people, or sleeping.

Malachi's entertainment with the idea of being the person in charge of firing people was great.

"'Ello sir, you wanted to see me?"

"Yes, come in..."

"What's this all about?"

"You're fired."

"Why?!"

"Because I hate you. Now get out of my office before I get out my stun buton."

Malachi sighed, having sudden realisation that it would never happen. It'd be too good for him.

No... I'll probably get a job Shoveling dead animals into the furnace or giving tours to old people. Man I hate old people...

As people came near Malachi he sneared, discouraging them from talking to him...

*Having landing a small ship in the casino, a medium sized man with a mechanical hook in place of his hand ran past the gate attendant. The strange man wore a bandana atop his head, accenting perfectly his torn and stained garb. Running immediately to Zara, he handed her a Datapad.*

"Argh, Miss Narrrghal. Cap'n Wart-eyed sent ye 'his message. I'll be then the Barrrh if ye be needing me."

*With that the pirate scuttled off to the bar. The message on the datapad read:

I'm sorry for my extended absence, but I have much work to do. I am okay, my dear, though I have sustained a rather large scratch recently. Only a flesh wound. I'm sending you one of my men as a sort of Ambassador to the Link. He won't be any trouble, 'les you understocked your bar. If you need me for anything, tell him, and he'll get it for you.

With Love, Ronin

Zara looked up at the pirate as he approached her, fearing the worst until she read the datapad. A smile come across her face and she waved the pirate off to the bar then re-read the message from Ronin. Another scar huh, I'll have to ask him about that one when he does get back

She missed him but she'd keep herself occupied until she saw him again. She went to the bar, tapped the pirate on the shoulder, also speaking to the bar attendant.

"When you're in touch with Ronin again, let him know I'm missing him. You've a supply of drinks here. Bartender, make sure this man's glass is never empty."

She waved to both and turned back to Malachi, wondering if she should go and find Kat. She was willing to bet he was back drinking himself into a stupor again. He had it bad for Brina. Turning back she added something else to the pirate,

"Oh, if you could use some of the pirate contacts to locate our missing employee, Brina, it would be very much appreciated.I want her back - alive and well."

She added the latter just to make sure that nothing untowards happened to her brothers love.

After an hour or two, Kat awoke to find himself sprawled in the chair, and worried sick about brina, where she was, and if she was worried about him. He missed her so much, he couldnt sleep properly, even with the alchohol.

Standing up carefully, he regained the bottle from the floor, along with a pack of cigarettes. Pushing a cigarette between his lips, he felt around his body for a lighter, and being totally unable to find one, he pulled off one of ronins tricks. Holding the cigarette to the barrel of his slug gun, he pulled the trigger, and the sucked deeply, the burst of flame lighting his cigarette.

Ignoring the small hole in the wall, he took a swig of the whiskey, stripped off, and walked into the refresher with his cigarette and his bottle. Putting the cigarette in a small dish to one side, and the bottle on a shelf, he switched on the refresher, and cleaned himself in the hot water, unable to realise it was just a tad too hot.

Walking out a few moments later, he realised his body was red, but nothing was burnt, so far as he could tell. Dressing in some fresh clothes, and washing his mouth out, he continued his binge, and fished out a new bottle of whiskey. Heading downstairs, he picked up some food, and ate it hungrily, before going looking for zara. He found her downstairs, with an possible future employee. Offering the man a cigarette, and a glass of whiskey, he said

"So what sort of work are you looking for? Anything you had in mind?"

((how about we make him my "aid." Im sure thats a terrible enough job for him.))

Zara looked up at Kat as he approached, looking worse for wear still, before she turned her attention back to the man that requested employment.

"Do you always give such a 'good impression' to prospective employers?"

She was thinking that Kat might like to use him in some area as she couldn't think of a position that would suit his 'demeanour'.

"Why are you asking me? I don't work here, I don't know what's availble. Though if I leave it entirely up to you I'll probably get a job working the 'hit Malachi in the face with a shovel' booth... I've got it. I'll work the suicide booth. Anyone who wants to commit suicide after they're squandered their life saving in your casino can come to me and I'll assist them."

*Malchi believed that his demeanor was a proper reflection of his emotion. Complete and utter depression. Why would he be bright and cheery when Sith threatened to kill and eat everyone, the rivaling galactic armies threaned domination daily, and there was such a chronic plague of dumbasses infesting the universe? It seemed to him to be a strain far too great for him to waste energy. So he continued, hand his his pockets and a scowl on his face, looking around slowly.*

((edited post, no one had posted after me))

Sighing and simply walking away, he completely didnt care. Leaving the bottle with the man, he simply walked aimlessly, having lost any care for drink. All it was doing was destroying his mind, he needed to deal with this once and for all, and try to put it behind him. Walking back up into his room, he sat down, lit a cigarette and tried to snap himself out of his hangover.

The Crazy Mynock appeared out of hyperspace near the casino. Brina requested to land, got clearance, and set the ship down in a small hanger. She stood and went to her quarters. Changing into a pair of black, low-rise pants and a matching low-cut shirt that left part of her midriff bare, she freshened up. This wasn't going to be easy.

Exiting the ship, she decided to find Kat first and foremost. Get the hardest part over first, she told herself. Accessing a computer terminal, she found that Kat was alone in his quarters.

She made her way up to the room--it wasn't far. She lingered outside his door for a moment, gathering up her courage. As ready as she'd ever be, she hit the button and the door slid open.

He was faced away from her, sitting in a chair, giving no sign that he even heard the door open. Her guess was, he thought it was Zara. Suddenly, she couldn't help herself.

She walked up and placed her hands on his shoulders. "Kat?" Impulsively, she leaned over and kissed his cheek.

Sitting in his room alone, the cigarette he had been smoking burnt down to the butt, untouched by him, Kat was lost in thought. Completely and utterly depressed and lonely, All kat wanted was for brina to be here with him.

hearing her voice, he barely moved, simply freezing in shock, and expecting the voice to be a creation of his own mind. Only when he felt her lips on his cheek did he believe it was actually her. Wide eyed, he stood and looked at her, the recognition instantaneous. Taking a few steps towards her, he didnt even bother saying anything, simply taking her into his arms and joining his lips to hers.

The second his body touched hers, his depression and anxiety fell off of him, as if it had been a coat he had worn and that she had pulled off of him. These dark feeling were replaced with passion and the deepest feeling of love he had ever experienced, leaving his entire body tingling. Gently pulling away from the long kiss, he was speechless, only able to hold onto her, a huge grin on his face.

Shaking his head, he managed to force some words off of his tongue, although they were only very simple. Motioning to the one couch in the room, he said

"Please, sit down dear. Ive missed you."

Sitting down with her, he was completely unable to contain himself, pulling her towards him once again, and bringing his lips to hers, Kissing her deeply.

As he froze, she waited for the look of anger, of rejection, or even of disappointment. It never came.

Instead, there was forgiveness, and it came in the form of a kiss. A kiss that left her trembling and unable to speak.

Feeling unworthy, she took a seat, only to find herself locked in another embrace. She returned his kisses with pent-up passion.

Pulling away after what seemed like an eternity, she found her voice again. "Kat," she said softly. "I'm sorry.... I was wrong."

She wanted nothing more than for him to hold her; to feel his arms wrapped around her. She leaned into him and put her hands on his face, pulling him towards her into another kiss.

"It doesnt matter, as long as your here now"

His body working in absolute overdrive as it came to the conclusion that she had changed her mind, and she did indeed love him, he gently lifted her onto his lap, still kissing her as he did so. Slipping his hand up beneath her shirt, he gently rubbed the hollow of her waist, feeling the warmth and softness of her skin.

His mind was absolutely free of any thought, simply operating on pure emotion and instinct. The love he felt for her was the purest he had ever found within himself, and it was guiding his entire conciousness, along with his body.

Now sitting on his lap, she wrapped her arms around his neck, his arms still around her waist. Pulling back slightly, she simply stared into his unfathomable eyes. What she saw there blew her away. Never before had she been with someone who held that kind of love for her. And she freely returned it.

Unable to tear away, the two beings held the gaze, a connection forming between them. She could almost read his mind through his eyes, and he, hers. The attraction between them was not simply a physical one, but also a spiritual one.

Kat was completely overwealmed by the torrent of emotion flowing through his body. He was 3 or 4 seconds behind the rest of the world, as his mind attempted to process the massive feedback his body and mind were throwing at it. Realising he was no longer kissing brina, he found himself completely locked eye to eye with her, almost unable to move. For moments he sat there, simply gazing into her clear green eyes.

After what could have been seconds or hours, he managed to pull his brain back into his head, and gently move one hand to the back of her head, drawing what seemed to him the perfect set of lips towards his own. Finally, an actual thought popped into his mind. He realised he had been completely unable to find anything at all even slightly wrong with this woman, since the day he had met her. Everything she did, everything about her he was unable to question.

Completely lost in the beauty of the kiss, Kat simply let his body go along with the ride, and returned to his state of pure emotion and impulse.

[Comm for Zara Nargal]

'Hello, this is Janus, an associate of Ronin Wartide and a member of the Space Pirates. We wish to arrange a tournament in your fine establishment. You provide the arena, the drink, and the entertainment, and we provide the greatest show the galaxy has ever seen. The profits from this will be immense. Let me know when you want in, and we can do business.'

"Well you're going to have to convince me that you actually want a job here or you can forget even bothering me for the time of day."

She got rather blunt with him, getting tired of his attitude already. If he wanted a job with them he would have to prove that he wanted it. Zara watched Kat move off, concerned for him and his state of mind. He'd really taken it hard that Brina had taken off. She was about to follow when her comm unit sounded with a message. She moved off a bit before answering it, also giving Malachi the chance to think about how he would convince her of his worth.

A smile came across her face as she listened to the message. Even though it wasn't from Ronin, it meant that he would be back soon for the tornament. She returned a comm saying that any time would suit her. This sounded like a grand way to open the new Casino.

A lone nobleman wakes up, a dark red chip sticking out of his pale blue forehead. The alien Seneferian blinks with his bloodshot orange eyes, trying to remember the past several days. The smell of alcohol is deeply imbedded in his wine sploched threads, and his hands shake.

"Sorry, evens!" a droid voice announces, followed by the plucking the red chip off Ganelon's forehead. "Bad luck my friend, I'm afraid you're broke."

Ganelon's eyes widen as the shock nearly sobers him.

It seemed like a short time ago he'd won back the fortune he'd lost on Bespin's casinos, forcing someone of his bloodline of the glorious house Bozel, into working as a mere merchant. He decided on the way back to his native planet to try a bit of luck at a new casino, and to try a couple fine new drinks reported to be here.

"Wha... what day is it?" he whispered in a hoarse and drink corroded voice.

He is given a clear answer.

"O..oh... What week is it?"

He stumbles away from the table, checking his pockets frantically. Finally he sinks to he knees and lets out a loud, piercing, and angry scream, cursing the heavens, the parentage of the casino's owners, their children, relations, and making lewd remarks at the coupling preferences of all involved as he sinks back into his native tongue to deliver a long, slurred string of curses.

Realizing he's drawing undue attention to himself, he slinks away to a corner of the casino, his face mottling to a darker shade of blue. This stupid casino robbed him of his own and he was determined to win it back... somehow...

Ganelon stumbles over to a computer console and draws from an account of emergency savings. He buys another drink, then approaches another roullette table. He tosses all his chips on the table.

"Odds," he croaks to the table manager. "All or nothing here."

*Malachi's distaste for the employer's lack of tolerance for his attitude was nearly to the point that his defeated expression became moreso.*

As often happens, time slows down for no one. One may feel that nothing else is moving, but reality never stops. Destiny still acts, and fate continues on her winding path.

Thus, when Brina awoke in the morning, the memories of the previous night's fits of passion were just that--memories. But she prefered to dwell on the present.

Rolling over, she laid her hand on the face of the man lying next to her. "Good morning, my love."

She wasn't concerned when Kat didn't answer. He was still asleep, and she didn't want to wake him. It promised to be a busy day.

She got up slowly as not to wake him and headed for the 'fresher to take a shower.

Rolling over, Kats eyes slowly opened, and he winced at the light. Looking around for two seconds, he slowly became aware of the room, and the sound of the shower going. The events of last night coming back to him, a grin spread across his face. She had come back to him, and she really did love him.

Stretching and pulling the covers off, he stood up, and walked over to the couch, where his clothes were laying. Pulling on his pants, he took a cigarette and a lighter out of his pocket, and lit it. Rubbing his unshaven cheek, he sat down, and waited for brina to finish up.

Brina finished in the shower, dressed, and came out, rubbing her wet hair in a towel. She smiled at Kat.

"It's good to be back," she commented. "Now I just have to find your sister and beg her to give me old job back."

She knew Kat would be willing to give her a recommendation, but she didn't neccesarily want it. She was a little worried about it--if she was in Zara's postition, she probably wouldn't rehire her.
