A massive, brilliant explosion briefly lit up the holos in the bridge of the Herløv. Qaela frowned as the Gleeful Glutton took the brunt of heavy fire and erupted into a fireball of metal and shrapnel. Numerous of the pesky corvettes also perished in the exchange, but not enough and the loss of one of her ships greatly displeased her. It was battle, but those were here shield to protect her own forces. The losses didn't concern her so much as it showed that the enemy was capable of inflicting damage on larger ships.

The worst part of it was the sudden influx of enemy ships joining the fray. While reinforcements of their own began to stream in, looking at the makeup, Qaela realized they were in some potential trouble with the enemy firepower now displayed against them. Before, they had the advantage in terms of destructive potential, now, that had shifted slightly to the Rebels.

At least one of the enemy's cruisers was belching flame and so full of holes, it amazed her the ship hadn't broken up yet. One thing she did like was that it seemed these Rebels were focused heavily on simply unleashing damage, not in protecting themselves. That meant more damage output, true, but it also meant less protection for their own ships. It was a curious move from a group of people that claimed to value their own lives, but perhaps these were the old Imperials still in command.

Mordecai stood aboard his transport, Xahl kneeing ahead of him in pain. The sorcerer fed off of it. Mordecai could feel it now- the swirling mass of darkness around him. He commanded the force in ways Mordecai could not fathom, and yet in the battle he had only managed a measly two lightning bolts, neither of which had killed their foe. Were it not for the witnesses and the wishes of his current master, he'd have cut the man down in his anger. But that would not sit well with the other Sith- blatant powerplays made them... uneasy. He grinned, relishing in his own pain, an untouched cornucopia of raw power. It would sustain him for the rest of the battle. While his duties on the front line were completed, he still had to oversee his forces. He made his way to the cockpit, hailing the Herløv on a secure channel.

"Lady Darksong, I was successful in my duties aboard the Subservience have been completed. My forces have established a beachhead and will secure the rest of the ship in short order..."

He hesitated. There would likely be penance to be paid for his failure to kill the Exorcist, especially given the loss of a potent Lord.

"... Lord Fahren fell to an Exorcist, Cassandra, and Lord Xahl has been incapacitated by his injuries. We inflicted enough damage to force her retreat, however, and their troops are without support from her and her guards. I'm returning to the Wyvern now to direct my forces in the battle."

In the mean time, Captain Jarvus had been given permission to command the ships as he saw fit.

~

On board the Wyvern, Captain Jarvus ran the ship with practiced ease. Officers and enlisted personnel ran between stations as the klaxons sound a full alert. He gazed at the carnage ahead of him in dismay- when he'd heard that Kuat had been attacked, he expected a few rogue rebels, not their entire kriffing fleet. He took a quick assessment of the scenario- He had statuses of both friendly and hostile ships displayed before him. One allied cruiser destroyed, one hostile heavily damaged with countless corvettes fallen in some sort of hopeless charge.

He reacted quickly, his forces receiving orders and acting them out with utmost discipline. This was no skirmish, as Corellia had been. This was a real battle. Careers and lives were staked on battles like this.

~

The Kuat Drive Yards were under siege. Two fleets battle for brutal supremacy in orbit, the conflict visible from viewports and observation decks. On the docks themselves, dozens of Rebel teams had landed to secure the most recent destroyers, manufactured for the Sith Empire. Across the ships, station security battled for their lives and for their honor as rebel dissidents attempted to mutiny the skeleton crews present. Those security forces who had been lucky enough to survive or be absent from the destroyers when the rebellion kicked off worked to thwart them in any way possible. As Vox's crew landed and began executing officers and workers alike, it became clear that there were two options. Fight, or die. Surrender, and they would die. Flee, and the Sith would execute them for cowardice. More Sith poured into the hangar, blasters screaming with fury as they launched hot bolts of plasma at the Trandoshans. One of the officers brought a hand to his earpiece, shouting over the carnage.

"They're coming for the destroyer! Cut them off- seal the blast doors and set up fortifications. They've got tra-" he was cut off as a blaster bolt hit him square in his chest, knocking to the ground. He was dead. With no other orders, the Sith troops outside the hangar began sealing the doors. They didn't need to fight the rebels, not yet. All they had to do was slow them down until the Rebel fleet was defeated.

“Report, Bravo--Charlie--Delta.” Captain Bryce panted into her comlink. She and twenty-nine shocktroopers were racing down parallel corridors to the command center in the guts of the Golan platform. She counted thirty meters, then halted her charge to sidestep towards the center of the corridor. The other half of her section rushed forward as a tide of plastoid and steel, and she snapped off a few unaimed blasts at the next intersections to discourage any counterattacks. She and her section of Talons had been nearly unopposed--no Sith shock troopers

“Bravo--approaching bow one through seven. Minor resistance. Be there in another minute.”

“Delta--Aft eight through fourteen is ours. Seven! Don’t bother, use the whole pack. We’re not keeping it. Thirty seconds, Talons, move it!”

The last transmission was muffled by the whine of blasters and shouts of orders delivered under fire. “Ah---Charlie! Platoon of chrome-jobs holed up at aft twelve. Smoke up! damn it all….” More curses, more blaster fire--the Bespinian scowled as she rose from her fighting crouch and advanced the next thirty meters. “Putting up a good fight, but we’ll take ‘em.”

Her section met their own first sign of determined opposition only seconds later. Taking the lead, the Alliance Talon pounded the deck with long strides as she charged forward. Her eyes darted side to side, occasionally catching glimpses of her fellow shock troopers fifty meters to the right… and no less than twelve Sith troopers lining the corridor leading to the dorsal shield projectors on her left. Eyes met the unexpressive chrome faceplate of a Sith shock trooper’s armor. Before either had the opportunity to react intelligently, two very disruptive things transpired at almost the same time. First, the detonation of a satchel of nergon-14 charges, little more than a backpack stuffed with explosives almost to the point of bursting, shook the station. That was Delta Section, reducing nearly a quarter of the station's firepower to twisted metal.

The Sith trooper staggered, throwing off his aim--or her, it was impossible to tell--aim. Bryce was worse off. Midstride at an all-out sprint, she fell and slid along the deckplates. Second, a stray bolt from her squad caught the trooper in the neck, dropping him with a shower of liquified chrome and a pained gurgling noise. But there were still eleven more troopers directly behind him, all of whom were aiming their rifles at the downed Talon. Not bothering to aim, Bryce launched a grenade into their midst, sending the shot into the ceiling but filling the corridor with shrapnel and steam from burst pipes.

Someone grabbed the back of her shirt and pulled her forward, hauling Bryce out of the way of a flurry of semi-automatic and automatic blaster fire. An E-Web, she guessed, judging from the rate of fire. A perfect location to cut them off--even if the emplacement was a bit exposed.

The starfield erupted in explosions as the ships dealt death to each other. Corvette after corvette shattered into slag and debris as the bombardment. Jorus grimaced as reports came in of a Sith Cruiser blasting apart under a concentrated barrage.

"Sir! The Divine Justice's shields are down!"

"And Zyro?"

"He reports that he doesn't appear to have been spotted. He's still lining up his attack vector."

"Good, keep me apprised."

"Sir, communications are online, we're receiving tactical telemetry from our allies."

Jorus stared down at the data flooding in, then nodded.

"Move along this heading, and order Moon Beetle and Broken Bullet to fire along these vectors."

"Yes sir!"

[For Vox]

[For Johanna]

Whereas the Kuat Drive Yards were crewed by largely station security, the Golan Battlestation was crewed by a hardened compliment of Sith soldiers. While still not enough to fight off a concentrated boarding attack like what the rebels were trying, it was enough to bloody their noses for the station. Defensive turrets whirred to life, dropping from ceilings and from  under the floors. Barricades were fashioned in chokepoints with search and destroy teams deployed to hunt down the rebel forces that were hunting the station's turrets.

On the bridge, officers and security personnel alike prepared their weapons, only the most essential remaining at their posts as the hostile boarders got closer. Sith troopers were putting up a good fight, but it was only a matter of time. Holding the bridge would be key.

With a goal in mind the Trandoshans worked swiftly and viciously through the flurries of plasma and blood. Spikes instead of energy bolts nailed various Sith Troopers however more seemed to join the struggle. More bodies of either side fell, numbers thinning and the ones up front for it were the War Pack of the Nudono. Shields were raised as they continued a more jog-like pace until they had their spurts of sprinting and taking acrual cover. Vox was quick to switch to his Puncture, knowing a Spiker wasn't built for long range instead built for short to mid ranged attacks. Aiming down where his hand met the upper handle near the barrel he began to fire off several rounds, some that hit their targets and others that came close injuring the nearby troops. Several miscellaneous Rebel Soldiers joined their fray and laid down cover fire catching the attention of other Sith units.
.
Once reloaded, the squad pushed forward with what seemed like a newfound bloodlust. Vox knew there were ships falling outside the bay and many were still dying. Still fighting, all for these ships. The ships doors were now in sight however a final obstacle was present. Hails of plasma came hurdling at the attackers, Sith troops dug in and doing whatever they could to hold off the enemy. Taking quick cover the squad avoided the bombardment by barely, fortunate Rebels doing the same however the unfortunate injured or worse. About twenty feet was the equivalent of the distance between the enemy and the Trandoshans and possibly fifty away from the actual Destroyer itself.
.
Vox was ready to reload his Puncture until realizing he was out of ammunition, only the four grenades locked into the weapon. He only had Mauler clips attached to his sides, no Spike rounds or such and they weren't close enough for a Mauler to deal any actual damage. Chaox and Equinox were almost empty on spike rounds as well, Rylast resorting to the six grenades he had and his own Puncture which was saved till now. With this in mind Vox knew they weren't making it to that vessel without weapons.
.
They were pinned down and the thought popped into the Chieftains head. He hasn't used his blade yet, and the shields were capable of blocking these blaster bolts. Immediately he pulled Rylast's blast shield to his left arm and holstered his other weapons, and unsheathing the sacred blade of his ancestors Vox gripped it tightly on the staff. Jolts of energy sparked within the glaive and Chaox took quick notice... the three other soldier Nudono took notice.
.
Vox stepped out from cover and allowed the shield to take a blaster bolt here and there, he then slammed the bottom of the shield and it's loudness caught the attention of a few Sith Troopers up ahead. He needed to clear a path, and that's exactly what he'd do. With a silent whir of the system, the elongated blade of the glaive sparked to life and the familiar sound of the Black Coats Red Blades was quite a vocal one. With a sudden roar that was deep and animalistic, Vox charged at full sprint with an old nostalgia of a pasts anger and a final judgement.
.
The Chieftain caught the attention of both Rebel and Sith soldiers or whoever was left of them. Whoever was in the way would get cut down. Closing in, Vox swung his blade and it's reach, thanks to it's staff, cutting through three soldiers. However as he began his descent the other three Nudono joined his side, rushing as enemy fire. Rylast was wise to stray away from the berserked chieftain but utilized his Puncture to fire at enemy troops flanking his leader. Chaox and Equinox covered his sides though remained a few feet away as not get caught by the swinging weapon. However the Rebels viewed the energy wielding Trandoshan had to have been some boost of moral, for all any of them knew Vox was a Jedi. A few miscellaneous Rebels joined behind the Trandoshans to back them as well, giving the support they needed.
.
Vox felt a sudden chill up his spine as he began to predict where the next enemy was it could come from. It was something he hadn't felt as of late, and it would guide him to victory. Four soldiers turned the corner and we're slammed by the sprinting behemoths shield. Vox swiftly swung his blade not in a savage manner but rather with a refined grace like one in swordsmanship. One of the stood back up oy to have his cut sliced through with the heated energy of the blade. Another soldier came from behind but was blasted apart by a Mauler from Chaox who saw his eldest brother move forward with no pause. This was when Chaox saw another nearby Destroyer much closer than far, however it was still an arduous trek to reach it.
.
With no sense of stopping Vox felt the tug toward the Kyber Class ship. Time was running out. With rushed eager Vox sprinted forward cutting down anyone, throwing the blast shield even to the side to reduce weight. Rylast neglected the item as he saw the rush of his leader and knew what it meant, he too began his ascent to the ship as well as the other two soldiers. Cutting down anyone Vox was just in reach of the ship, seeing the large doors begin to close on themselves. But just in time as several bolts struck his back, Vox and Rylast made it within the doors just before they closed.
.
Chaox cursed loudly and Equinox caught up quickly with a shield raised, protecting his brother and himself from enemy fire. Thanks to the Rebels however, there was distraction and the Sith had to turn their efforts to whomever shot at them. Vox barked over their personal comm link, "You two get to the second ship! Before the doors close, now!!" Though, Vox wasn't necessarily sure if there were Rebels on board, he figured if he and his brothers didn't have that help then they'd clear the ship themselves.
.
Tugging on his brothers arm, Equinox stated, "We can't remain here, do as Vox said said!"

With a grunt of disapproval, Chaox followed Equinox to the nearest ship possible. And as they sprinted the second Lieutenant was not certain of the dangers that lied ahead. He prayed to the gods for his eldest brothers, the Nudono Chieftains safety. Vox turned to Rylast in the ship, nodding as he said to all that were with them (assuming there were Rebel that were able to board the ship just before doors closing), "We have our mission, they have their orders. Let us prevail."

It was then Vox powered down his energy glaive and pulled out his Mauler, knowing from here it was close quarters combat. Rylast nodded, staying to true to his chieftains orders and guidance as he pulled out his own Mauler and readied a few grenades for use.

[For Vox]

On board the ships, Sith and Rebels fought a complex battle of guerrilla warfare. Elevators became death traps as either side sabotaged them for their own gain, hallways littered with corpses from the initial fighting. The rebels had made sure they controlled the most important of the systems, the engines, hyperdrives, the bridge. Sith forces, however, had rushed to the defense. Aboard the destroyer Virulence, a rebel leader met Vox and his comopanion.

"So you're all they could send? Though I suppose I shouldn't judge considering the havoc we watched from here. I'm Kala, I led the rebels on this ship during the first bit of fighting. We have the engine room in emergency lockdown- The Sith need reinforcements to break through. We've lost the bridge, however, and Sith troops are beginning their attack the hyperdrive. If they get through, it's over. They'll blow it up before they let us take it. I have a handful of seasoned troops with me we managed to smuggle on board- whichever objective you push, we'll take the other."

~

Mordecai had just barely arrived on the bridge of the Wyvern when the Captain met him with a damage report. Their own actions had been lacking, primarily disabling enemy ships where they could. Their hidden card, the Coalescent Fury had begun to stalk its prey. Their own ships had taken heavy fire from an enemy task force, targeting the electronic warfare pod. The Deciever had wilted almost instantly, lost with all hands on deck. They hadn't launched escape pods- they hadn't been given the time. Mordecai frowned. He was still waiting for a response from Quela, but without one, he'd have to act one his own.

"The bridge is mine now, Captain. You've performed adequately."

The two remaining LAATi’s of Talon Company raced about the exterior of the station, their turrets opening up on sensor domes and shield generators as the heavily-armed gunships nearly scraped the hull of the Golan in their evasive maneuvers. They were hunting for an alternate point of entry to the station that could be breached--a boarding umbilical, even a portal for astromech droids that could be blasted open. Shrieking by the bridge, the two transports dipped under the arc of the hull to send a flurry of rockets into the unmolested bow batteries.

They broke right to continue their hunt for targets to vandalize, leaving a trail of melted armor plating and shattered fire controllers in their wake. Then they located their point of entry. It was a small airlock intended for the use of crew on EVA spacewalks. It was only large enough to accomodate two marines at a time and the transports would be vulnerable until their passengers gained entry to the station, but Echo section’s marines were already at work, setting up a portable magcon field generator and laying ribbons of explosives along the airlock….

_____

It was inevitable that the Sith stop reacting to their boarding operation like beldons and begin mounting an effective defense. Between the E-Web position at their flank and the fortifications before the bridge, Captain Bryce’s progress had been effectively halted. The radio chatter from Charlie section even indicated that they were being driven from the aft batteries.

The Talon directly in front of Bryce--the Chiss Sergeant who had dragged her out of the fusillade from the E-Web position--shouted something. No luck--the marine was mostly deaf in her right ear. Then came a flurry of hand signals: concussion grenade, buckshot, and a countdown of three seconds. The Bespinian nodded; the grenade went bouncing along the deckplates towards the E-Web’s position under a flurry of blaster fire, and then with blinding glare a crash of thunder that came almost as a physical punch to her ribs, Bryce was suddenly deaf in her left ear. But she was up and turned the corner to advance towards the Sith emplacement. The E-Web was still firing blindly and struck one of her men to fell the Talon; a carefully aimed shot from the squad pierced the faceplate of its gunner and silenced the turret. The rest was a frenzy of close-quarters combat, of blind and deaf Sith troopers peeking out from their barricade to exchange fire with deafened Alliance marines, and within a few seconds her section had mounted the barricade and Bryce was firing down at the retreating bodies of the Sith troopers.

With this position overmatched, and for the moment, no Sith troopers or automated turrets firing at them, Johanna had a moment of relative peace and signaled her Talons to gather around her. “No luck on the bridge!” She shouted, in the hopes that some of her marines could still hear. A holoprojector in her palm displayed a simplified schematic of the station. “Local transformers are fifty meters aft--hundred mid! They get hit!” She slammed her fist on the holoprojector, dimming the projection and making her point clear. The amount of energy that those devices managed was enormous--the destruction of one of them would cause rolling blackouts that would wreak havoc on the station’s fighting effectiveness.

Unfortunately, it also seemed that the Sith were aware of the vulnerabilities of the station's power grid. Bryce's section managed to traverse the distance aft without encountering anything more than token fire from the broken squad of Sith troopers that they had just overrun. However, they encountered heavy resistance the moment that her section turned down the corridor leading to the aft power transformers. The leading Talon just in front of Captain Bryce peeked gingerly around the corner... and promptly spun to the ground when the leading edge of her helmet was struck by the second of a rolling tide of blaster fire from Sith troopers and an automated turret. Bryce grabbed the Private's presumably deceased body out of the line of fire by her boot, only for the Twi'lek to grin and give her a thumb's up. It was a glancing blow--only the armor was struck.

Both sides returned fire, largely unaimed and ineffective. It was a stalemate, the Talons unable to advance down the barricaded corridor and the Sith troopers content to merely hold off their advance. The Talons sent a smoke grenade upwards to cover an advance of one of their marines, but the crawling marine only managed to scuttle ten meters forward before a glancing blow to the leg forced him to take cover in the pitiful shelter of an astromech droid crawlspace.

Amid the chatter of blaster fire and dimly-heard shouts of orders, Bryce snarled into her comlink. "Delta--cancel orders and support at Alpha's position. Confirm." Still half-deaf, the Bespinian never heard the response. Presumably it was in the affirmative--and hopefully reinforcements would arrive soon, because her men weren't going anywhere in a hurry and would be sitting beldons if more Sith closed in on their position...

The hull of the Rebound rattled under the near constant barrage of enemy fire. More than once power to the bridge flickered to black only to surge back to life under a glow of flashing red warning lights and the blare of klaxons.

Kolchak’s teeth ground together audibly with each impact. He stared out the viewscreen as their ship dove and rolled blasting away at the enemy’s soft nether regions. Like a mosquito that needed swatting, the Hellriders stung again and again until the enemy had little choice but to turn her focus on them. They now stood at a precipice.

A voice called out across the deck. The Divine Justice had been disabled and any attempt to communicate with it received static in reply. The gapping holes in the prow and sides were testament enough to her fate.

Kolchak sighed. That ship had been his home for almost his entire career in the Outer Rim. It was his home. A fresh whooping alarm signaling imminent system failure of the Rebound brought him back to reality. “Captain. Get your men to the pods. Leave the Rebound to me. I’ll do my best to ensure you have a chance.“

Captain Jobes stared wide-eyes at his newly met commander. He opened his mouth to reply, but thought better. Turning he quickly signaled a full evacuation.

Meanwhile, Kolchak brought the Rebound to bear, driving it right towards the Herlov’s broadside. “We are tip of spear,” he growled as the ship shuttered and began to crack before erupting in a fiery plume of fire.

Across the battlefield, the other ship commanders watched their own salvos find their marks, noting the Damage done by the Sith war fleet.

”For Freedom!” an unidentified voice called out over comms in an effort to rally the stunned fleet spurring them forward.

The barrage of turbolaser fire transformed into rippling blasts along the Black Bracer's shields.

On the bridge, the dull thuds rhythmically boomed through the room, punctuating the reports being called out from stations.

"Shields dropping...40% and falling."

"Sir, reporting direct hits from the Moon Beetle and Broken Bullet. Debris is disrupting our scanners, but no corvettes appear to have survived the barrage."

"The Divine Justice. Status?"

"Unclear, but it suffered heavy damage sir."

Jorus's mouth twisted. The rebel's reinforcements brought them some much needed firepower, but the superior command and quality of the imperial fleet was leaving rebels dead in droves. The wreckage of ships and the corpses of crewmen hung scattered in the void between fleets, slowly turning as they careened into the infinite.

Would the rebels fight to the bloody end or run?

"Push us forward to sector 1148. Let's give them a reason to run. Prepare for updated targeting priorities."

Vox was greeted by a woman and she'd explained to him the situation. Vox was quite familiar with both the Hyperdrive and the Bridge, having hijacked a Sith Cruiser before, he had a basic idea of where it would be. All these damned ships had similar designs and to him it seemed flawed but nothing to complain. At least not now. Vox, in Trandoshan said, "I suppose we'll take the bridge then. It'll be fine easier to find in this maze of a ship."
.
And though the Chieftain knew his way around that particular ship, this one was different despite similar interior. He felt they didn't have the time to go on a chase, so for him the bridge was much easier in terms of location. In terms of action though? He'd assumed it would be heavy, but no pain no game, right? Without as so much another word Vox and Rylast took off in the direction of the bridge. They ran through the corridors and eventually found trouble, however took out the Sith units quickly as possible.
.
It took a few minutes, Vox and Rylast took cover when taking fire from the enemy, of course Rylast had his own advantage of grenades and his Puncture while the Chief awaited for the grenade to go off and moved in for the kill with his Mauler. Whatever he missed his followers was swift to finish. One group they met at a corner were rather troubling . Rylast was quick to take some shots before he was forced into cover behind one corner, another hall that was just to the right of him where Vox was lucky to get some protection from. They still had their full armor intact mostly, and those shots would be absorbed before the plating collapses and falls off. They were with whomever joined them, if anyone joined them.
.
"Puncture Strings?" Vox asked in Nudono, holstering his Mauler and pulling the large bladed weapon from his back.
.
Rylast checked his side and luckily he still had three strings left, including the half grenade string already in use. He would toss two of the three to the Chief with some force so they weren't shot and blew up. Vox immediately reloaded his Puncture and he shivered at the sound of the click from the cocking. Oh gods, he thought. Looking to his Shield Brother he ordered, "Throw a Spike Grenade followed by a Incindiary, and as soon as that burns I'll lead and you follow. Fire from behind, don't let up."
.
"Sir, will your armor hold?" Rylast asked as he pulled the two different grenades out, asking out of concern but not ready to disobey orders under any circumstance. Rylast was a loyalist, he followed Vox everywhere, knowing this Chieftain certainly took after the previous. To the core, Rylast never questioned his leader, he just shut up and followed orders even though his age caught up creating the scrutiny and worry that followed it.

Vox gave it a second thought but shrugged, "Not sure, either it does, or it doesn't. Either way, we'll gain control of the bridge."

Rylast nodded as he tied up the Incindiary grenade up to his last spare Puncture String. He threw the Spike Grenade first, wary of the ceiling and the blasts coming toward him Rylast gave a, "F*ck it," grunt and took a few blasts to his right shoulder pauldron, the armor doing its job and unfortunately cracking. The grenade, by some sheer luck, landed right in front of the first few guards or soldiers who were perplexed by the shape of the object thrown at them as they continued their firing. Two seconds passed and the pairs ear holes were greeted with a satisfactory explosion followed by a few screams and what they assumed were bodies dropping. Nonetheless, more soldiers, or whoever was left in the hall, were either nailed by a stray spike or two or simply tried to regain composure, that was until an odd string of balls were thrown in the direction landing slap dab in the middle.

What followed Rylast using his time, immediately after throwing the string of grenades practically, was Vox quickly turning the corner to see a fiery hell that climaxed within seconds into a flurry of six explosions. He rushed down the hall, some troops pinned down the hallway by the fire that only lasted four seconds, charring and literally melting the plasteel to the comrades hit by said fire. The damage from the explosives were at least concussive enough to knock them off balance, however they didn't have the time to regain their footing as a behemoth came sprinting at inhumane speed, firing a grenade launcher at his victims.
.
The pair rushed their way to the bridge so long do these corridors didn't have any traps or troops in their way, aiming their weapons for the next victim. Meanwhile outside the ship and quickly approaching the other were the twin brothers, Equinox and Chaox, who allowed their armor to take the brunt of the attacks from others before. Chaox saw the blast door closing on itself to which he screamed at his twin to hurry. Equinox threw the shield down and sprinted the fastest he ever had. Chaox made it through just in time while Equinox had to leap threw to make it just before the door closed, otherwise he'd be stuck on the station. The two quickly regained  composure and pulled out the Spikers, not much clips nor rounds however they would certainly suffice long enough.

The impact of precision fire against the hull of her Herløv caused the deck plates to tremble slightly, but Qaela paid them no mind. Damage was fairly minor, but they had managed to destroy the last of the pesky corvettes. She smiled slightly as she saw one of the enemy cruisers erupt in flames and begin breaking apart, but the enemy reinforcements brought with them some significant firepower that needed to be dealt with. There would be a great deal of hard questions asked in the next few days as to how such a large Rebel force could ambush a Sith stronghold such as Kuat and pose such a significant threat.

She noticed the heavy fire that the Black Bracer was experiencing and wanted to get them some relief. Even then, it would be difficult with so many enemy ships firing on them, but they would have to do so. The constant threat of determined focused fire against their ranks could quickly turn one of their heavy destroyers into nothing but a brilliant beacon of death and carnage.

Giving more orders and redirecting the fleet's firepower, she waited with carefully restrained enthusiasm as the battle continued to unfold.

[For Vox]

The leader of the Sith resistance aboard the Virulence was a seasoned Sith trooper, Sergeant Norris Quarl. He'd served in countless Sith campaigns, from Onderon, to Dark Sun, and even when they'd first taken Kuat. He had first hand experience at combating the rebels and their guerrilla warfare, hence why his defense of the ship had gone so well. Now, however, he faced a problem. Despite all odds, a mere two Trandoshan mercenaries punched through his lines again and again. This was a problem. He checked his armor and his weapons. He'd killed wookies before, but these two were clearly more than slobbering carpets.

"Corporal Vane, rig the bridge to blow."

"Sir?"

"I'll take a few of the others and buy you time. But if we can't have the bridge... then no one can. After you've rigged it, pull your squad and blow it. Don't wait for me, and don't hold the trigger for anything but a direct order from myself. I'd rather cripple one of our ships than let these rebels take it."

"Understood."

He turned to the door. "Fizt, Kima. With me. We'll take them like we took those pirates at Coruscant. I'll take the big one, you two mop up the smaller and move to assist."

The blast door opened, and they stepped out, shields raised as they moved.

"Trandoshans, in the name of the Sith Empire I command you to halt, or face death."

Behind him, the blast doors began to seal again as the corporal began rigging grenades and using the few charges he had at his disposal to trap the bridge.

[For Johanna]

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Those words stuck in Harman's head, on repeat as they faced off with one of the rebel forces. They had orders- don't move. Don't pursue. Blast the rebels if they came. The rebels had tried for a push, but the poor sod who'd gotten furthest had been forced into a glorified cupboard by the turret above. He hadn't needed to fire a shot. he could hear orders being barked over their sergeant's headset, but couldn't hear the details. They were putting up a good fight, but the station's groans and shudders reveal what the ultimate outcome would be if they sat still.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

He'd first heard those words from a girl on Nar Shaddaa. He'd grown up in the seedy underbelly, where even law enforcement dared not tread. Openly run by gangs and mafias, he'd learned enough tricks to get by, but still struggled to keep up with the leader of his crew. It had been some of the last words he'd heard her say. She saved up the money from heist after heist, stealing from anyone they could that wasn't already gang territory. When she finally could she'd moved to Carida, asked him to come with her. He almost did. And after what the Sith did to it... He regretted it. She'd died in the attack, but he didn't learn that until after he enlisted in the Sith.

Nothing ventured

When he learned, it had broken him. But he hardened quickly. Waited. Biding his time, he sat on his anger. His hatred for the Sith. He wasn't true Sith, nor was he even force sensitive. But it motivated him. Now was his chance. An ally that even the Rebels didn't know about. They would learn now that burning an entire world? It made enemies.

He grasped a grenade on his belt, thumbing the pin for a mere moment before pulling it. And then, he waited. One. Two. He dropped it, moving to his feet. Three. His sergeant barked at him to return, calling him a coward. He never saw it coming.

Nothing gained.

"For Carida!"

The explosion rocked the hallway. Scattered sith bodies and wrecked barrier willed the hall. The sith troopers further into the transformer pushed in almost immediately, executing the traitor as soon as they realized what had happened, but it was too late. Their position had been rocked. The Rebels were given their chance.

"We have a breach! Stop them here, don't let them push any further! Get another E-Web up and pin those rebels down until reinforcements arrive!"

The real battle for the Golan platform was just beginning.

Raven felt her hand involuntarily curling into a fist as she watched the fight continue its eagre spiral to the complete destruction of the Rebel combined fleet. She looked up to Valiston Alekseyev and frowned.

“Have the ground forces succeeded at all in taking any ships?”

He looked back at her with a stern but caring face,

“Not yet Empress.”

She punched her hand down onto her thigh and growled. This was her fault. These deaths were on her and her alone.

It did not take long to tell that the forces formerly under Vice Admiral Kolchak and their reinforcements were taking a beating.

Resorting to chain of command directives in the event of the loss of the highest ranking commanding officer, the commanders of each ship or task force had acted as they needed to in the moment. Now, though, secure comms were received and translated across the fleets. Aboard the Nargi-class Pursuit Frigate - Watchman, a shadowy figure watched the chaos unfold. Eyes skinned across the orders and the featureless figure shook it’s head. Sometimes  orders were less than desired; still, orders were orders.

Engines flared to life across the still pristine medical fleet. Untouched physically, but they had played witness to it all. Someone would need to be able to attest to the carnage here today. Elsewhere, the rebel forces continued to pepper laserfire into the expanse of space, engines growling to pull the scattered vessels into some semblance of formation.

War was glory, at least when it was going their way. Qaela realized the heavy losses she had risked, but she had stayed the course and it seemed that the aggression and close defensive tactics of their escorting fleets had paid off. The enemy was losing multiple ships with even more of them venting flame and atmosphere. The Lightsbane was heavily damaged and taking casualties, but for the moment, the rest of their surviving ships seemed to be doing moderately well.

The enemy appeared to begin maneuvering to new formations, possibly to withdraw or perhaps to make one last ditch attack run. Not knowing what else the enemy had planned or if they were bringing additional forces, she needed to be careful. While the Emperor seemed to love a glorious battle, he had demonstrated in the past an abnormal (for a Sith) proclivity to defense and protecting what he had. He did that at Dark Sun Station and elsewhere, so she believed that protecting the shipyards would be the priority over destroying enemy ships.

Until it was known what the Rebels' plan was, she would fight and protect the shipyards.

"Sir...the fighter carrier is gone! Our Velvet Ire has completely destroyed it!"

"Keep up the barrage! We're not out of this yet!"

Still...how much longer will they keep this up?

Jorus didn't care for the firepower arrayed against them. The Black Bracer's timely positioning had denied the enemy a straightforward assault several times, but the armored hulk wasn't invincible. And that star destroyer...that thing was heavily armed and shielded beyond any standard imperial vessel.

The flaming wreckage of an enemy fighter that had strayed too close to the Black Bracer exploded into shrapnel as it passed by the bridge, briefly illuminating the room in orange light. Jorus grimaced, but didn't react.

"New coordinates and targeting priorities, prepare to broadcast."

“Alpha--Echo. Made entry in subsector twelve. About to make contact with Charlie. Foxtrot right behind us.” Pinned down by an E-Web emplacement and her ears still ringing from her section’s concussion grenade, Johanna couldn’t make out the report from the remaining third of her unit that had just made egress onto the station. However, more than five hundred meters away, an additional thirty shock troopers joined the assault on the aft turbolaser batteries to catch the Sith defenders between two angles of fire.

Bryce rapped on the helmet of her adjacent Talon. A violent series of hand signals followed: smoke, suppressing fire, dark. That last gesture was met with a confused frown from the Chiss; Bryce repeated the gesture more emphatically, this time greeted with an exaggerated nod and a countdown of five seconds. The Bespinian took a deep breath and prepared herself for a mad crawl up the corridor…

Two smoke grenades rolled up the corridor. A wild-spray of fire issued from the shock troopers, mostly enthusiastic but unaimed fire towards the E-Web position, but a number of carefully aimed bolts struck glowpanels, shrouding the interior of the battlestation in darkness and the meager crimson glow of emergency lamps. Into that crimson haze Johanna dove, a grenade in her left hand and her sidearm in her right. Two of her Talons followed, crawling madly through the smoke and darkness in an attempt to spring up at point-blank range and assault the Sith fortifications.

“For Carida!”

At this range and in the confines of durasteel-reinforced corridors, the shriek of the concussion grenade was shattering. Johanna only had time to place a gauntleted hand to protect her neck--and then once the little impacts of rubble on her back ceased, she was up and running, only meters away from the ruin of the E-Web blaster. A fallen Sith trooper, sitting against the barricade with both legs bleeding profusely, shakily raised a blaster pistol towards her. Captain Bryce caught the glint of the armor moving in the darkness and felled him with a lucky bolt to the breastplate. Only a second later, she and two of her shock troopers were in the last fortification, punching and stabbing and firing their blasters at point-blank range.

Red, both figurative and literal, filled Johanna’s vision. The Twi’lek who had followed her up had drawn her vibromachete and brought it down on the neck of a Sith trooper, spraying the area with rivulets of hot blood. Johanna reeled and dropped to the deck when a blaster round creased her midsection--it burned fiercely, but the bolt struck the plastoid where it was strongest. Her attacker wasn’t quite as lucky--his next two shots whined past where Bryce’s head had been only milliseconds early, whereas her pistol fire struck his shin, knee, then finally his groin.

Bryce forced herself under the cover of one of the engineering consoles of the power distribution room. A lifeless, blue arm was twitching just beside her. It was just her and the Twi’lek in the meager salient into this vital facility. “Payload up! Prime and bring it up!” She screamed to her Talons to reinforce her position. Hopefully, they would arrive in the few seconds before the Sith realized that it was just two shock troopers who had broken into their fortification.

Mordecai snarled as the rebels began mopping up his corvettes. In a few seconds, the Shroud of Darkness's escorts were annihilated, the fire from the other task forces turning their attention to the cruiser itself. They wouldn't last long- He had to make his move now. He gazed across the battlefield, hit hatred and anger at his own failure to kill the exorcist the only thing keeping him standing now. He would not fail again today. He received an encrypted communication and smiled. It seems everything was lining up now.

He marked his targets, sent his orders, and played the game of tactical grace that was fleet combat. He felt little for the fallen sailors- they were not his men, they were Lady Darksong's. Her lack of response to his own communications had very clearly stated what he had suspected- he was alone now. He would live or die by the choices he made on the battlefield and nothing else.

While everyone was getting pummeled in the space fights, Chaox and Equinox scanned their surrounding quickly as they moved forward. Stealth was certainly not something they wanted, Rebel forces continued their damnedest to fight against the Sith forces on the opposite away from Vox and Rylast. They stopped and his around a corner, six sets of footsteps running where they were headed. As soon as the first two Sith soldiers passed the twin Trandoshans acted swiftly. Resulting in a glorious shower of blood, Chaox had pulled the first of the two troops into his Mauler and fired it into the poor man's stomach, a sizeable blown out hole from him and bits of flesh and small passing metallic spikes peppered the two behind them.
.
Within a second before they could realize what happened he'd already used the blade under the handheld shotgun to rip through the other troops arm and brought up down on the third one behind his second victim. The third soldier saw the second behemoth tear through the other squad mates however just in time dodged the blade coming down. He, however, had no chance as when the troop fired a bolt and succeeded in shooting the still complete helm of the lizard. A low growl came from the Trandoshan as he slowly turned to face the trooper not one foot away, against the wall and firing another blot at the chest armor, which only left a black stain and a crack. Before he could fire another round Chaox knocked the blaster away and came up with his Mauler, impaling the soldier. However he'd not felt satisfied as he pulled and plunged the blade in and out several times. Equinox pulled the twin back as he saw the way this was going.
.
Yanking from brothers grasp, Chaox looked down at the mess, "He shot me in the face." He simply said nonchalant.
.
The two began down the hall again as Equinox argued, "This is why Chaox doesn't let you lead missions. Instead of bathing in the glory of your food why don't you cut to the kill?!"
.
Chaox could feel his brothers glare, he didn't have to at him to know that. Equinox was always stirring some drama and usually belittled Chaox for his brutality, however now they were in the heat of battle and he didn't want this. They two ran across another squad just finishing a pair of rebels and were greeted with spikes, blades, and 100% pure rage and testosterone. Chaox replied calmly as he finished and continued his run, "We should take in every moment-"

"And live! To them we are simple sell-swords! Beasts with little mind. You'd rather run off in a random direction, kill many people and be proud of that and prove them right?! Father would be disappointed in you just like he would in Vox-"
.
It was Chaox's turn now to interrupt as he stopped and slammed the taller of the two into the wall, his armored forearm across the twins throat, "Don't you dare suggest that! Vox may take your talkative ass, but not me! You were bred and groomed just like Atrinox for politics. You know Nothing of what Vox and I went through you pampered punk! While you were "helping" the civilians to board the ship within their safety, the two of us killed and fought for our survival... And You have the Audacity to sit there and criticize my- Our methods?! There's a reason Father never trained you in our arts, it's because you're soft and weak!!"
.
Chaox hadn't realized at this point he'd been strangling Equinox as gasps escaped from the brother, and from the corner of his vision he saw a quad of troopers coming  toward them quickly take cover around the corners that met the hall ahead. He released Equinox who fell to the ground, grasping his throat from the pain. Chaox knew his temper was... quite explosive, but with what the near extinction of his race, the Nudono people, his disdain toward working with outsiders, and his own problems he was prone to snapping.

.

In quick succession, Chaox rushed forward and while certainly took a shot or two to the chest he'd taken care of the troops until Equinox caught up. Without further words, the twins moved forward, the latter not uttering a word. By now, they'd be approaching the control room... And hope that they can tail it out of here. Chaox didn't want to fall behind nor left behind, he was with Vox when they hijacked another ship on that ice world and even helped with a good portion of it's controls.
.
Vox and Rylast rushed down the hall, they had to be close! Vox confirmed this when he saw an opening at the end of one of the halls, and that's when they heard a man's. With no patience to waste, Vox continued with vigor and raised his Mauler, Rylast raising his Puncture as they closed in quickly. Sensing his Chieftains eagerness, Rylast threw a spike grenade through the doorway and an audible explosion could be heard, they only hoped however that whoever it was in there weren't too much a pain in the rear.

At once, it washed over him. Where anger was blunt and fiery, triumph was sharp, cold. The death and destruction of his enemies hit him with such force that he nearly forgot his injuries. Nearly. His pain was warm, almost its own fire. It burned from the scarred tissue, but there was more to it. The shame of his failure, maybe. And still, over all of it, the cool wash of victory. The rebels turned tail and ran. They hadn't even bothered to finish off his limping task force. The day had taken a heavy toll, though. He watched in sorrow as the Lightsbane erupted into a devastating fireball, felled by a well placed barrage from a previously undetected ship.

That barrage gave its position away though. He laughed. It was all that was left aside from their flagship, and if they'd left these two behind in their rush then he was willing to make a gamble that the Imperial capital ship would be next to tuck its tail and run. Suddenly, his knees weakened. His injuries were taking their toll. Had he stayed andfought he would had hit this peak sooner, and on the battlefield.

"This battle is over. The bridge is yours once more, Captain."

~

[For Johanna]

The Sith had failed. They couldn't retreat to fight the breach- if they did, the rebels that had opened a second front would make it through. They simply had to hope that their lines stayed intact. But it was hope set in vain. All that stood between Johanna and her goal was a single Sith. Not a trooper, but an apprentice. He grinned, twin crimson lightsabers igniting in the darkness, casting hazy beams through the ash and smoke. He grinned.

"You should have run when you had a chance. My master says that if I kill you all I'll be lorded, so unfortunately for you, you all need to die."

~

[For Vox]

The troopers held their line. They would let the Trandoshans come to them. They were looking to delay, not to stop. They had seen the footage from the bridge- there would be no surrender. But something was bothering the Sergeant.

"Why the Rebels, eh? Seems like you folks love causing pain. Rebels won't like that at all. I don't suppose there's any way to sway you to our side? The Sith don't shun brutality- it's a show of force, of strength. They'd prize you, where the rebels would shun you. If all you are are mercenaries, then allow us to buy your loyalty."

The plan was the same of course, but the Sergeant was an enterprising man. Turn these two, and retaking the ship suddenly became much easier. If it didn't work? Oh well, they'd kill the mercs, or at least slow them down. It was all a game for time as the corporal worked, waiting for his comm to beep with confirmation of a job well done, for fire to wrack the ship.

_________________

Aboard the other Kyber class Star Destroyer, the rest of Vox's forces worked quickly. The ship was under the Rebel's hold in all but name- all that remained was taking the hyperdrive before the Sith blew it up. It was the site of a bloody battle; The sith had given ground whenever the rebels pushed, only for the rebels to be met by brutal traps and crossfires. Corpses from both factions lined the halls. Vox's troops were the finishing touch to a cascading failure of the Sith's defenses, however.

They'd given too much ground, and lost too many people doing it. Now they had a final line of defenses. Two dozen troopers holding just outside where the hyperdrive was housed. They were locked out, but not for much longer. In a matter of minutes the door would be open, and it would only take a single well placed grenade to cripple the ship and stop the rebels and their plans.

The rebels would need to act fast.

"Begin the acceleration out of the gravity well, Shields double rear, prepare for jump to lightspeed as soon as the captured vessels and remaining marines evacuate."

The Imperial Knight bowed low.

"Yes Empress."

And amethyst eyes stared solemnly at the viewscreen's report, the stirrings of anger and rage pricking at the corners of her vision.
