  1. Talyn listened carefully to the young emperor, Beck Pilon. He nodded his head as he listened, taking mental notes within his mind, especially about the name. He was somewhat familiar with it. Oovi IV was infamous among the intelligence circles, a so called blacksite with a dark history. This would be no easy task but he was used to such high stakes. It would be no different to any other assignment he had done before. He smiled a little as he was given carte blanche, with the full resources of the Sovereignty being put at his disposal. Good. That would make it a lot easier, especially if the facility had since been taken over. That and it would make keeping the assignment a secret much easier. With the intelligence services full weight to hide it or silence if need be any interested parties. He spoke, still kneeling. Leaning close as the emperor whispered into his ear. "It shall be done my emperor, for the safety and security of the Sovereignty. If you can, have your men send me personnel files of all those who previously worked there and the facility layout. That would be good start my emperor. I just might be able to find someone who could assist getting us inside if I can look at those records. You have my word, this assignment will remain between us, and believe I should be able to find someone we can trust. I will get on it as soon as I can. If you have no more need of me, it looks like I have alot of work to do to prepare." With that he gave another bow before moving away, allowing whoever was next to step forward. From there he set about finding safe and secure location nearby where he could view whatever information was sent.
  2. Talyn was sat waiting a short while, observing the interaction. From the look of it one of the Sovereign 's didn't seem particularly pleased over something or other, but it was not his place to say or do anything. Instead he stayed where he was simply watching to see how the new emperor handled the situation and give him an idea of just what he was like from a certain perspective. He appeared to handle the situation with grace and was apparently smarter than he appeared. Tayln approved so far but he would soon see for himself what the man was like. He soon noticed the emperor wave him over and so approached, carrying his helmet with him under one arm. Once he was at the correct t spot, he knelt affording the emperor of the Sovereignty the respect deserving of his station. Bowing after he placed the helmet directly in front of his body, by his feet until he was asked to rise. He lifted his head only to speak. "Greetings my emperor, I am Talyn Orin. Agent of the Sovereignty Intelligence branch of your government and soldier, I am unsure how much you know of me. But I have just recently returned to Coruscant after the last few years undercover among our enemy the fallen Sith Empire. Working within their own ranks upon Korriban to liberate that forsaken world. My return is twofold my emperor. Firstly, to report that with the help of the Jedi Knight, Sanguis Equitas and the droid R.U.I.N along with the rest of the troops of the Sovereignty dispatched to assist us with the task, we have successfully liberated Korriban. A hard fought battle as you can imagine. My second reason for being here is to seek out my next assignment, now that my task there is done there. I am aware there have been many changes since I have been gone and so humbly request my next orders and ask to whom I will now report. Other than yourself that is, I wish to assist in whatever manner you think I may benefit the Sovereignty further."
  3. As the ship entered the system, Talyn pondered just what role he might play in the new government. For he had used the time in hyperspace to catch up somewhat on current events and to clean himself up from the blood he had previously been caked in. From what he could gather the Sovereignty was now governed by an Emperor, which to him did not bode well. For he remembered the lessons of old, last time the galaxy had an emperor the galaxy had paid a heavy of and suffered in darkness for decades. Would this new emperor be the same? He did wonder. As he took a shuttle to the surface and sent his authorisation code, he also wondered who would he report too. For he had also found out his previous boss Qessax had since been replaced. He didn't know the reasons, and he didn't particularly care, only that whoever replaced him knew what they were doing. As the shuttle landed, after restocking his ammo and equipment, and debriefing, he was approached by a important looking official who informed him that his presence was required by the new emperor. Which was most unexpected. He had not expected to meet the new emperor so soon, although it did provide an opportunity to get to know him and see if he was different to the last. To see what made him any different to those before him in power. Walking with a quick pace, his guns upon his back and slung across his side, Tayln made his way to the palace. He could still see old signs of the wars that ruined the planet and brought the moon crashing upon it. Just as he could see countless refugees, victims of the Sith with nowhere else to turn. As he entered the main hall,he noted the gala in progress but paid it no mind. He cared little for the plays of power those here orchestrated. He was above such frivolous behaviour. He was a soldier and not a bureaucrat. As he approached closer, he noted a Imperial Knight. He hadn't met one before but knew them by reputation. They were more willing to remove the Sith by any means, more so than the Jedi at least which afforded them some respect. He waited his turn to speak to the emperor, as he removed the helmet that had previously concealed his features. Looking upon the emperor, he looked younger than he thought he would be. In many ways they appeared similar in appearance. He took a sit as he waited, placing the helmet under the chair until he would rise.

Tayln continued the trek to the surface, stopping only when he came upon Æquitas. He looked with a pair of wary eyes, checking to see that he had called himself before he got closer and spoke. It seemed he was as stubborn as any other Jedi having refused full care of his damaged arm. "I trust you have calmed yourself now? You above all people must be more careful, especially with your abilities Jedi Æquitas. I have seen what happens when your kind let such emotions get the better of them. But I do understand your frustration, we perhaps could of used the Sith but given their nature it is likely the outcome would of remained the same. Even if the droid hadn't acted. Sith are as stubborn as you Jedi in many respects. Regardless we have accomplished what we came here to do. And my job here is done. I must depart for debriefing upon Coruscant and to receive my next assignment. To see what has happened to the galaxy while I have been here. And see where next I can affect change in undertaking my duties. But I will not forget you or R.U.I.N and his companion, we worked well together. Perhaps we may met again some day soon and again affect change as we have here. For now, see you around Jedi Æquitas and as your kind say may the force be with you." With that he held a extended hand issuing a firm handshake before departing. A mutual sign of his respect and a offer of future friendship should he wish it. Walking out and into the sun, it was almost blinding having spent so long underground, but it was a welcome sight and reprieve. Walking past the troopers, he made his way all the way out before finding a nearby shuttle and asking for a lift to one of the bigger ships above. So he could depart this forsaken world of death. Once he was aboard a bigger ship, he begun preparing for his next journey. Catching a ride with a group heading to Coruscant. As the ship entered hyperspace he contemplated just what he would find when he arrived.

Talyn responded in kind as he saw the elderly Sith raise his crimson blade and advance. Attempting to split him in two, however just as he was about to again raise the scatter gun, R.U.I.N intervened and did what he did best. He destroyed. And more. He kept going until nothing but a mangled mess was all that remained of what had previously been a talking, walking sentient being. Albeit one more superhuman than normal. He was about to speak when the Jedi Knight, Equitas suddenly had a brief outburst. Upset and apparently not amused at the droid for mangling the Sith. Convinced he could of been saved perhaps, but Tayln though differently. The eyes of the Sith and the lengths he went to in a attempt to destroy them all was evidence to him that he was beyond that. I'm fact he was grateful to the droid for saving his life. He briefly raised the scatter gun, unsure if the Jedi Knight would have a bigger outburst, as he had seen such force-users capable of accomplishing. In moments of pure Rage where everything and everyone became a target. But as it subsided and the Jedi Knight removed himself, he breathed a sigh of relief that there would be no more killing that day. And no friendly fire incident to report. He called out to a nearby medic trooper. "Follow him. Make sure his calms down and doesn't bleed to death before we can get his arm sorted when at a proper facility." With that he turned to face R.U.I.N and his smaller companion, speaking even as blood and small chunks of flesh and organs, dripped from his armour. Both it and he were going to need a through clean after this he thought. And he was going lick find the Sith under his fingernails for months. But it was a small price to pay for freeing Korriban from the Sith influence. "Don't worry too much about the Jedi. He has had a rough day, we all have. And Jedi are always more...emotional about such death and destruction. They value all life, even those who rightly shouldn't be spared. The Sith caused endless suffering, it is fitting he suffered a similar fate as they inflicted on others. And while I agree we perhaps could of used him as a captive, I have no ill feelings despite the outcome. You both saved my life, it was either him or me. Even if it was more...messy than anticipated. That said, let's get out of here and leave the troopers learn sweep the place. We can probably get you repaired on one of the ships above and get ourselves cleaned up. We also need to get in touch with those in command, have a Jedi and Sovereign recovery team secure the rest of the building and disarm any traps left behind so we can gather more intelligence. This place is a mine waiting to be picked apart." With that he motioned the droid to follow back the way they came. Now it had been secured by them and the remaining troopers with them. Now his job here was done, he wondered what the future might hold. He had been on Korriban a long time and wondered what state the galaxy was now in that he would return to. And who would be in charge of the Sovereignty himself. Either way he hoped to work with the droid again, even if the Jedi Knight did not.

Following closely behind, was Talyn Orin. As he entered he too saw the old man, a Sith by the looks of it attempting to set some kind of devices off, however he noted the Jedi taking care of that particular threat. But even so, as the Sith outstretched his arms and the Jedi attempted to thwart them, whereas the Jedi intended to simply maim him Tayln took a more lethal approach. He knew such a Sith would not go easily as had been proven already. That and even without arms he was a great threat and so he took his scatter gun and raised it towards his head, opening fire but being careful in trying not to hit the Jedi in the process as he attempted to dispatch his target to whatever hell awaited him on the other side. He knew the Jedi might not approve for it, but to him both as intelligence operative and a soldier, it felt the right thing to do. To end the threat permanently and send a message to the Sith. That their time was at a end and he would be there to see it done. Besides he had seen just what a Sith could do even without their arms, just because they were down a limb they could never be discounted as being out of action. And so he would ensure that the Sith was 100% taken down. He knew R.U.I.N would approve of it even if the Jedi did not. He saw the potential of the droid for the future, they made a good team. He gave a few last words before unloading his cargo upon his victim. "This is for all the world's you and yours have destroyed and the lives you have taken Sith. Today you pay the ultimate price for your crimes. Your time is ended!"

Talyn Orin gave a smile and a smirk as chaos took hold of the enemy battle lines when R.U.I.N descended upon them like some kind of metallic war god, carving a path of destruction upon those who had inflicted so much pain upon the galaxy. Now it was their turn to suffer and torment, even if only in this battle. The pain of the innocent would be brought upon them all and the Sith that lead them. He left the Jedi Knight, Sanguis to continue to accomplish what he could until he noted the volley being brought upon him. And so he threw the last of his grenades, a single frag. Throwing it as far as he could, hoping to tear a hole in the enemy firing upon his comrade. Once he was done, he turned to see the Commander, a trandoshan he noted, spring across the battlefield towards R.U.I.N. He knew by the movements and the way he acted...this was a Sith. One of many he had seen during his time here. No he would not allow that Sith to end the droid. And so he switched tactics, placing his sonic rifle across his side by it's strap. In its place he pulled out the Accelerated Charged Particle Array Gun (ACP) slung across his back, momentarily securing it while he used his right arm to extend the Electrified Wrist grappling hook from it's placement and hopefully grip the Sith Commander's leg, dragging him to the ground. Once there Talyn would show him what it was to feel the pain of the innocent and those he had broken, he would fill the trandoshan scum with cartridges from the powerful shotgun. As he would send him to hell or whenever it was these sort went. At these close ranges it was a killing machine, and worked very well he had found from many such battles, in using it's extreme blast force to eviscerate any in it's path that were organic. He just hoped he was quick enough to catch the Sith. Even despite his advantage of speed and the Force.

Taken stood behind what cover was provided as he listened to the massive droid and his smaller companion access the situation and offer input. It looked as though the larger droid had sustained some significant damage which did not pose well for the team in the current situation at hand. They would need his might sooner or later..but they needed more time for repairs. Time which wasn't a possibility under the circumstances. Instead they would have to improvise a bit. It was true that a Jedi was better suited for close quarters and perhaps evening the playing field, but he knew they were far from invincible either. He had seen both Jedi and Sith succumb before now. "This is true, but they are not indestructible. How much longer do you think you need for repairs? We are gonna need the firepower in a moment or so. Best suggestion I have is provide cover and try to allow for a opening that our Jedi friend here can exploit. Although I wouldn't take too long, something seems off about all this...it's like they are diverting us or stalling. Corelling us only where they want us to be. But why I don't know. It doesn't bode well either way, I would suggest whatever we plan to do, we do it fast. I have one shock grenade left and two flash bangs, I'll throw one flash and provide cover with the others, see if that don't disoriente them a bit so Knight Equitas here, can do what his best at and give us a opening to advance proper. We need to take out those replacements or our troops are gonna get swamped first step inside we take". Talyn awaited a reply, hoping the Jedi would agree with the assessment and go with the plan as it stood. Either way he was cautious about the situation, something definitely didn't feel right. Firing around the door, he let off a few pop shots hoping to at least reduce the opposition while they discussed the next steps.

As the turbolaser fire rained hell down upon the enemy in front of them, Tayln Orin likewise concentrated his fire upon those in front, hoping to pin them down and allow the artillery to do it's deadly deed. As the bombardment ended, he observed the carnage before them...bodies lay where they fell. Allies and the enemy entwined and the smell of fresh death filled the air while body parts lay strewn all about. He never got used to it, but it was part of his job. To bring peace required great sacrifice, from those willing to lay down their lives for freedom and to remove those fanatical enough to resist against the odds. Talyn stepped out, checking to see if the way in front was now clear. It appeared to be the case so he fully stepped out, signalling the squads with them to do the same. He spotted R.U.I.N and Fera, the huge hammer he was holding and the way he entered the area was a dead giveaway. Chaos ensued before quickly subsiding. Talyn smiled at the Jedi's words, finally he was beginning to understand the true cost it would take to win. "I wondered when you would begin to understand. You cannot always rely on your Jedi principles and morals to win, not against these monsters. Not against the Sith. You must think like a soldier. For our enemy lack what makes us strong. They do not remember the dead, we do. Each has given their lives freely, for a chance at peace and true freedom. Freedom from oppression and tyranny. None are in vain, for we shall see that their lives were not wasted, we shall remove the last evils from this forsaken place. Come, let's descend into the Praxeum and face it's horrors together, for in our unity we shall emerge victorious." Turning to R.U.I.N and Fera he spoke. "Thanks for the assist, next we head enter the Praxeum, and clear out the vipers nest. R.U.I.N and you shall go first, scout ahead of our main forces and let us know what to expect. We shall start by clearing the place room by room and move floor by floor if need be. We can't afford to let any Sith fanatics or Sith Lords to escape, the galaxy will pay the price otherwise. If your ready you may proceed, we shall approach behind you. If you need additional support we'll be right there." Talyn motioned for the troops to move out. Ever since Captain Bryce had been knocked unconscious and taken back aboard a ship to a medical facility, it seemed he had been given unofficial command of the ground contingent. Which he didn't seem to mind, as they kept going he found he became more and more confident in his ability to get them to do as he wanted and to earn their respect. Indeed he found in turn his own respect for the Jedi and the two unusual droids had likewise grown. Advancing, Talyn followed behind the two, knowing chaos would not be far behind.

Talyn had little idea just what the destructive droid meant but he assumed it to mean he was on the way. He did however understand the other droid with him, it seemed they were to expect a artillery barrage, and so he acted accordingly. Looking up from his position, Taly n noted how his attempted distraction had been far more effective than he thought it would be. Just as he saw the barrels of his enemy line up and about to try and his life, he found his time did not yet come. The Jedi saved him,, a fact he was thankful for. And so he continued on with the mission as the Jedi yelled to it his name. Informing him that they should take cover, for it was about to rain hellfire. "Thanks for the assist Jedi. He almost had me then, R.U.I.N and the other droid Fera was it? Are en-route. I have been advised of incoming fire from Turbolaser 3 and we must fall back one click to avoid being caught in the range of the artillery barrage which will last approximately 1 minute going from the calculations I was given. I shall assist with the retreat in a fire and retreat movement to safer ground until it stops. Once the area is cleared we can advance again." With that Talyn gave the order, telling the troopers with them to fall back and begin running as fast as they could, they had very little time, as the first of the barrage begun to rain down in front of them. He shot forwards even as he retreated, attempting to pin down any of the enemy that remained or decided to make a attempt to take them down with them.

Talyn reacted as his instincts and training told him to do. Ducking behind cover where he could and dispatching those who got too close to him, even going so far as to baton a couple to death as they charged like crazed and wild bantha or a particularly aggressive rancor towards him. Tayln thought them possessed or on drugs of some kind as they shouted out wild battle cries and once they run out of shots attempted to bludgeon any in the way. Including him. Rolling to avoid a barrage of blasterfire, the intelligence operative and soldier picked a shock grenade and threw it as far as he could into the enemy lines. Aiming specifically for the Elite inn a attempt to disorientate him and any around him so Talyn and the troops with him to pick targets off more effectively. He noted the man stood out like a sore thumb, no doubt a commander of some sort. He hoped to offer the Jedi what little assistance he could give for one without such abilities as he possessed. Using his modified Sg-82 sonic rifle, the soldier took several shots, letting loose the electrical cargo towards his target, he knew it wouldn't do much but it would provide a adequate distraction for the Jedi to act. He called into his comlink, even as he did this. "R.U.I.N where are you!? We need you with us ASAP in the Valley of the Dark Lords. We have encountered heavy resistance and could use the heavy artillery assist you guys provide."

As Captain Bryce charged towards the site, Talyn Orin, Imperial Intelligence Operative of the Alliance followed. Doing his part for the liberation of the current hellhole they found themselves in, cleaning up the last outposts of the Sith. Any place they would call refuge. Proving how even despite Nar Shadda...the war was far from over. Laying low and taking cover behind anything he could, the soldier zig sagged towards his objective. Lifting the sonic rifle as he got within range, he left out a couple of shots, hitting one of the enemy and electrifying his organs. He was incapacitated as hundreds of volts were sent alongside body and could likely be taken prisoner or be killed, that would be up to those alongside him. He would march forwards. Next the Intelligence Operative threw a shock grenade ahead of him into a bunker nestled in the side of the canyon. Several people flew in all directions, some wounded, some disoriented while others lay dead inside. War was never pretty and Talyn Orin was prepared to get his hands dirty for freedom. He admired the Jedi Knight's skill and finesse, as he did Captain Bryce, it became clear now why they had been selected. Although he wondered what had become of the droid R.U.I.N. He hadn't seen him and the buzz droid since they left.

Talyn listened as Captain Bryce pointed at the Twi'lek and explained about him. He found it somewhat interesting...it seemed everyone handled the drops differently, and that was the way he handled it. He felt the cold as the life support was turned temporarily off, it was lucky he now had the helmet to his armour on, protecting from the cold and the sudden change as well the inevitable combat to come. He knew the Sith would not accept the terms, his time among them had taught him that. As the ship rocketed to the Valley canyons he braced for impact, even as the restraints that held him threatened to come loose. Scanning about as the craft finally made it's rough landing, Talyn unfastened himself from his restraints before looking about to see if the others were ok. He slung his primary weapon around to his waist using the strap attached to it, as he went to see if the Jedi Knight was ok when Captain Bryce mentioned him. Talyn briefing spoke as he did so. "That was a bit more rough than I expected, but I suspect it's only getting more rough from here. you alright there Jedi Equitas? Best we get moving, longer we stay here the more unwanted attention we attract."

Talyn looked on, listening as the mighty war droid R.U.I.N joined him and the others heading towards the shuttles. He admired his enthusiasm to destroy their enemies but hoped he remembered to distinguish between the Order and the natives. He also decided to rectify at least one more thing before he would depart for the shuttles. "I see, so you are the two I heard about. Quite a strange combination, you shall have to tell me how you both came to be together if we live through this. I hope he can distinguish between the native Tsis and the Sith of the Order and Sith Empire. Tell him to designate any red skinned humanoid he see's as a non-hostile, the native Tsis are red skinned you see and to not destroy the culture. The culture is important to the locals, we need it intact if diplomacy is to be attempted. That said The Academy, the Tombs, the space port and surrounding area is free game. Looks like things are gearing up, best we get below and be ready to start this thing proper." Once he was done, he heard the words of Admiral Slaughter. It appeared the fight for Korriban would soon begin, he doubted the Sith would listen and give up, they would never give up willingly that which they thought belonged to them. He spoke to the Jedi Knight as he heard his words. "It is unlikely they will I am afraid. The Sith are not known to willingly give up what they think is theirs, especially a place they consider to be of such value. I expect a fight for every inch of the sand...sad as it is. But unfortunately it is in their nature, just like how you chose the moral way of doing things. I don't think any of us are looking forward to this, but we must do what must be done for the greater good of the galaxy."
  15. Talyn listened as Admiral Slaughter mentioned the time limit for departure, he would need to be quick about gathering any equipment he might need for the task at hand. It was unlikely he would get most of what he needed from the fleet armories, his equipment was slightly more specific and required certain types of ammunition which could probably be acquired from one of the refugees, a smuggler perhaps who would be willing to trade for credits. As such he gave a salute as the Admiral left and soon followed. He would need to be quick, as such Talyn 'borrowed' a speeder bike from one of the soldiers about the area when he wasn't looking. He didn't have time to ask for permission. Zooming from the area, he searched the camp before eventually coming across a unscrupulous looking sort hidden away from plain sight, a toydarian with some kind of weapons bazaar located between what might be called a slum in the refugee camp. Somewhere few soldiers would go unless they needed to. Entering, Talyn spoke as the toydarian looked him up and down. A little suspicious but otherwise accepting it seemed of any credits. "Greetings, I am Talyn Orin. I heard this was the place to come for the more unusual requests where weapons and ammunition are concerned. I have need of some very specific ammunition. Ammunition for a Dissuader KD-30, 5 separate cases for putting in pouches, and two over shoulder shell belts with cartridges for a Accelerated Charged Particle Array Gun, and three power packs for a Sg-82 sonic rifle. I am willing to pay over the odds since time is of the essence and I don't particularly care where you got them. Only that they do the job. Can you help?" The Toydarian brushed it's chin for a moment, considering before he spoke. As with most of the species, he stunk, was a bit bad tempered and stingy. "Who told you that? No-one I don't like I hope. It is true I have what you need but would be cheaper going to your friends I think. Let's see ammo for a Dissuader KD-30, Accelerated Charged Particle Array Gun, and three power packs for a Sg-82 sonic rifle...that'll be...15,000 credits." Talyn's eyes glared through his mask at the price mentioned. It was almost extortionate but he didn't have time to haggle or complain so begrudgingly he handed over the credits before departing. Placing the Dissuader KD-30 ammo into his ammunition pouches along his belt , legs and arms he then proceeded to place the ACP gun ammo belts over his shoulder, one on top of the other like some western bandit. The sg-92 power packs he placed into the pouches on the back of his belt. Satisfied, Talyn vacated the area and headed to the nearest ship that was part of the Korriban mission. It didn't take , to be directed to the right place. Once inside, aboard the same ship as the rest of the mission team, he waited for the rest to arrive.
  16. Talyn listened as Admiral Slaughter mentioned the possibility that the Jedi Grandmaster had her own agenda for Korriban, just like so many others in the past. He assumed it was just like the Admiral had said, for whenever he had met a force-user there had always been something more. Sometimes he wished he had their gift, to gain a perspective into what they think...but most of the time he was content with his lot in life. He was one of many lacking that particular set of skills but made up for it in other ways. He answered briefly before they left, as he assisted the Admiral to where the others were gathered. "Your probably right Admiral, I have never known a Force-User to not have some kind of hidden agenda. Granted they are useful but personally they give me the creeps...the things I seen them do shouldn't even be possible." With that he wheeled the man out, followed by his member of staff, careful not to bash him into anyone and making sure they moved swiftly out of the way when they saw just who it was being wheeled through. Each was rather quick to offer a quick salute, at least the military personnel did. He stopped briefly as a tall amazonian marine soon joined them in walking to the tent. He offered her a crisp salute in respect to another officer. He was interested in what she had to say after overhearing she was to in part give the briefing. He spoke briefly as they walked. "Your reputation precedes you Captain Bryce, much like the good Admiral here. I look forward to working with you both." After that he fell quiet as the briefing began. Although his eyes couldn't help but briefly wander upon the two strange droids before them. One a Terror droid of all things, he had heard stories about the things but never thought he would see one up close. So far this one amused him with it's weird vocabulary. The other appeared to be a Buzz droid of some sort, a strange pairing indeed. It would be interesting working with those two that much was certain. Listening closely as he wheeled the Admiral closer so he could sit next to Captain Bryce and easily reach the console if he needed too. Walking, he went and stood next to the other Agents and members of the team as Captain Bryce and Admiral Slaughter laid out the plan for Korriban. It seemed sound enough, although he would try and ensure the droids didn't get too over excited and decide to take out the local Tsis species along with the Sith and their allies. He wasn't sure if they could tell the difference between them and the Order. So he decided to emphasize that point for their benefit more than the others. "Nothing really Admiral and Captain Bryce. Other than to emphasize and reiterate for our droid companions that the local red skinned species, known as the Tsis are to for now to be treated as potential allies. The Jedi Grandmaster and the Alliance in general from what I understand wishes to open up diplomatic relations with them in the future and seek to end their reliance upon the Sith government should the liberation be a successful endeavour. Likewise the rumoured city in the mountains, near the volcanic passes known to the local population as the City Of Ur and any non hostile Tsis settlements we might come across..is to be left alone at least for now unless in defence of your life. Other than that, that is all Admiral unless you both or anyone else have something to add."
  17. Talyn made his way back to where he would find Admiral Slaughter, seeing as he could not locate the rest of the team it seemed a good enough idea. Perhaps he might know where they are or at least give a idea where they would discuss the next steps to liberating Korriban. A task he knew that not be easy at all, the planet was hostile even by it's very nature. Even the wildlife seemed out to get you. Like a untamed wild west, it would not be controlled at least indefinitely. Walking on, he was soon directed to where the Admiral had chosen to hide in seclusion. Issuing a courteous military salute, Talyn spoke. "Sorry to disturb you from doing what you are doing Admiral. But I have located the Jedi Knight you requested but have been unable to find the rest in the camp so far, however I did meet the Jedi Grandmaster, Armenia Draygo I believe they call her and her mother Lady Misal. She expressed is I inform you to remember that it is absolutely critical that this operation results in the establishment of a government capable of rebuilding Korriban after decades of Sith oppression and repression. That she said we may deal with the Sith Lords as necessary, but to make sure a clear contrast between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Alliance will be critical as we advance through the territory they have abandoned. She was adamant I remind you of that fact sir. That said, is there anything you need me to so before we leave. I believe that the Jedi Knight, Sanguis Equitas is waiting for us in the tent I left him in for the briefing, I can take you there now if you wish."
  18. Talyn considered the young Jedi Knight's words, even as he looked into his eyes to perhaps gain some measure of the man before him, a man with a most extraordinary gift or curse. Whichever way he looked at it and see the kind of man he would be working with, he was sure he was at one point a look of doubt and fear...familiar scars and signs he had seen in far too many others, but not so common in Jedi. The signs of one affected by the war and suffering from some kind of traumatic experience. The way he spoke seemed to suggest it. That would either make him a asset or a liability...possibly both when the time came for action. Time would tell which would be true. Listening, Talyn spoke trying to address each point made by all present. He first turned to the Jedi Grandmaster, Armiena. "I shall do my best and utmost to convey this Grandmaster, although there is no guarantee he will listen. We shall just have to trust that he does listen." He turned to Sanguis next. "I would agree, despite what they have done and are capable of, the Tsis tend to keep to themselves and pose no real threat, at least for now. As a endangered species, one which is sentient and strong with what you call the Force...they must be allowed to live despite our misgivings, or we are no better than the enemy. Although we might need an eye upon them, as stated their hatred for the Jedi and Republic is strong and stems from millennia of such hate that has only been reinforced by the Sith. In fact there are rumours from Korriban that those who lead the seven Clans that make up the species were trained by a powerful Sith Warrior and his allies. But as I said, if it comes to open combat they won't hang around long and will retreat back to the mountains to hide to conduct guerrilla warfare upon us later. Scans taken and from a personal expedition I undertook close as I could get to the area without discovery, suggests they have some kind of stronghold there in the mountains that we have yet to fully find. The Sith have for most part ignored them so long as they don't interfere with their agenda. It is my belief that they should pose no problem for the duration of the transition for most part. It is the Sith themselves that will be the issue. As such our focus for now should be with the main areas of government. The Academy, space port and the like. Areas of high commerce and traffic. As for why you were chosen, I have no idea...I am simply following orders I'm afraid and my knowledge is limited to what I have been told. Perhaps during this assignment you will find your role. Perhaps it shall be diplomatic, guess we'll see. You might despise politics and espionage but if Korriban has taught me anything it's that sometimes we must confront that which we despise if we are to overcome it. Regardless I think we have spent enough time in discussion, there is much still to be done. If you are ready, grab what you can and I shall meet you at the spaceport." With that Talyn made his departure. He had a few misgivings about this Jedi, he appeared to have much doubt about himself and his role in things. Perhaps in time he would find his place.
  19. As Talyn listened, his expression turned to one of surprise. He was hardly thinking he was going to meet the mother of a legend when he first got there...the Jedi Grandmaster, Armiena Draygo-Starfire's reputation preceded her. Yet he had not heard much about the rest of her family beside Aryian Darkfire, so to meet her mother was unexpected. He suspected what the young Jedi said was likely the truth, he had no reason to like afterall. As such Talyn have a nod before proceeding to speak, but not before directing them to a more secure location, one away from prying eyes and ears in the camp. "I have spent the last several years upon Korriban, and have assisted the former Nikolai Kolchak, who was my mentor and Agent Qessax's predecessor by supplying valued intelligence from deep within the Sith Military hierarchy. That was until recently, a Sith saw me stealing some of my latest intelligence. Very well, I see no reason to doubt what you say is true. It is a pleasure to meet the mother of the legend, the Jedi Grandmaster's reputation preceded her, much like yourself. Even on Korriban, the Sith had her on a kill on sight list. May I suggest we find somewhere a bit more secure within which to speak. What I have to day cannot be open knowledge, besides you never know who might be listening...even here where people think they are safe. The Sith as you know are ruthless and have many spies." With that he led them into a nearby tent before making sure it was secure. Sweeping for potential bugs or people who might be listening, satisfied he gestured to several seats in the tent as he begun to speak. "Sorry about that, you can never be too careful or cautious in my line of work. Now we are secure I can explain that situation better. The Alliance is aware of the fact that Korriban is a known Sith sanctuary and for the reasons you specified, however my superiors also believe it is also more than this based on more recent intelligence. As I told Agent Qessax, whilst using my deep cover within the military structure of the Sith, one that I had maintained since my younger years, I was tasked with recently finding out if the government of Korriban was still Sith affiliated and actively resisting attempts by Galactic Alliance personnel looking to help any to transition. It turned out this was the case. Those that were found to be sympathisers have been being getting rounded up and 'rehabilitated' or outright executed with little reprisal. I had also found out that miraculously, some of the old native red skinned Sith species or Tsis as I have found they call themselves to stop any confusion between the Order and themselves, still exist there. Although in smaller numbers, they have kept the old hatreds which has only gotten stronger since our last attack and are allied with the Sith but they are no real problem. It is the area surrounding the Academy and the Tombs, areas directly controlled by the Sith hierarchy that is the problem. Ever since they took over they had been building. Those above my pay grade wish to replace the local Sith government and topple it, they wish for your help and those specifically chosen for their unique skill sets to help establish a new more Alliance, Republic and Jedi friendly government. To I quote 'make sure Korriban is no longer a safe haven for the Sith'. They request help rescuing any sympathisers and installing them into the correct positions to make a positive change to the status quo upon that planet, so naturally we are trying to minimise civilian casualties if we can help it, which is I assume why they asked for you specifically. Admiral Slaughter has been assigned to oversee our air support for this. That is all I know so far. If you require more, you may read the file here. Although Agent Qessax will require a answer within the next day or so as he wishes to take advantage of the Sith while we still have the advantage. And help towards pushing them out indefinitely from the galaxy." With that he handed the young Jedi Knight a encrypted datafile containing the information regarding the mission, along with the profiles of those involved for a more detailed inspection should he was to do so. And if he so desired to, to share it with Lady Misal.
  20. As the old women talked, he wondered just who she was. She was obviously a Jedi of some sought, but the way she carried herself and spoke good him there was more to her than met the eye. That she wasn't your typical Jedi. He answered as best he could, and as much as he was authorised to tell her, after all the enemy had many spies. Even here where they thought the Alliance was safe. He faced her, speaking calmly and respectfully. "I'm sorry but I can't tell you much. At least not without the right authorisation, from Agent Qessax himself. However what I can say is that there are those in power that believe for too long that place has been a bane upon all who would call themselves good in this galaxy. They wish to ensure the Sith do not spring from that hellhole again to trouble us. This is a tipping point, we will no longer tolerate them endangering lives and taking them on a whim. May I enquire Master Jedi though, who are you? I don't think we have ever met before and you strike me as bit...different than some of the others I have seen about the camp."
  21. Hearing no further words, Talyn took it to mean he was no longer needed currently and so could now proceed to find the others for the mission. Afterall it was better to know those you were to work with and see just what sort of personality and skill set they possessed first hand. Saluting, Talyn spoke before departing to find the first member marked in his datafile, a Jedi Knight. Sanguis Æquitas. He had never met the man nor any Jedi for that matter before now. But from what he gathered they were the complete opposite of the company he had previously kept in the Sith. They had lines they did not cross and so could be trusted. Indeed without the Jedi he had no doubt the Alliance would have long seized to exist, their skill in the strange abilities some possessed was awe inspiring. "If that is all Admiral, I shall take my leave. There are preparations to be made, I shall go meet our team see in person if they as good as the data claims. I shall see you next when we are closer to the time of the operation, for now it was nice to meet you as short as this was." With that he departed. Looking at the datafile of the Jedi, he looked about the camp, walking backwards and forwards between the various tents and asking where he might find the particular Jedi Knight. He was soon told he had been seen nearing the outskirts of the compound headings somewhere so he would need to be quick if he was to catch him. As a result he caught a ride on a speeder before being dropped as close as they would dare. Nodding his appreciation and paying a few credits he disembarked and continued the rest of the journey on foot. He soon spotted his target, the man was unmistakable. Bright green hair and with very pointed ears. Very young by the looks of it...it appeared the soldiers of the war were getting younger and younger these days. Seeing he was not alone, with another Jedi of some sort, a old looking woman. A Jedi Master he suspected, she gave him the creeps a little for some reason...he approached with equal caution and respect. "Sorry about the intrusion I know you are busy so I shall try and be quick, I have been looking for you for the last hour. You are Sanguis Æquitas I hope? I am Agent Talyn Orin. I just recently returned from Korriban serving as a deep cover Agent until my cover was blown. Agent Qessax also of Imperial Intelligence has instructed me to find you to attempt to request that you join a mission of utmost importance. We have need of a Jedi such as yourself to take Korriban and he feels you fit the correct profile to assist us with this endeavour, together along with a few select others. He would appreciate it if you accepted this task. As would I, I have never met a Jedi before but your file speaks highly of you. Although I got to say I am a little surprised to see one so young. But look forward to working with you if you accept."
  22. Talyn noted the unusual squad of clones who stood waiting, no doubt for Qessax. As Slaughter passed him a rather shiny looking, steely stylus, the agent quickly began to note down the information the Admiral required. He made a point to personally point out where to find the sympathisers held prisoner and the local defences as specified by the admiral. He also jotted down anything else that might be of interest such as the known settlements and eventually created a list with names, placing a image of a face next to the correct name, along with places of residence and work. Each was marked according to current rank and level of threat priority they might pose. He produced a second list for the Alliance sympathisers which held similar information before handing back the stylus. "That about covers it. I'll leave it to you to decide who we go after first based on that list."
  23. Talyn looked upon Sgt. slaughter as he was wheeled in, it appeared even with his injuries the man refused to quit and give in, ever the soldier continuing to fight. He had heard of him and his reputation and was glad to be given the opportunity to work alongside him...few had the stomach for the kind of work they were accustomed too which was understandable. It was not easy to see the horrors they had and still continue to fight. He saluted the man before speaking, adding to the display when it centred around Korriban. He marked out several locations of importance. "Your reputation preceded you Admiral. I am glad to finally meet the man behind the legend so to speak and have a chance to finally work with you. Here you are, the locations of most importance and the defences I can recall seeing on Korriban. As you can see most of the defences seem to be centred about the Praxeum itself, which descends it seems below the surface, but how far I was never able to determine. Most of the levels below the surface were restricted to the Sith Lords and above only. Sith Steel reinforces the pyramids which are trying hard to hide in the landscape, this I was told is used only upon the surface level of the larger complex outside. Then there is the valley itself. The Valley Of The Dark Lords they call it. Full of old tombs, place gives even me the creeps. The cliff faces to either side aimed at limiting any potential angles of orbital bombardment, with the usual point-defense cannons, turbolasers, and ion cannon batteries positioned around the pyramids intended by design to try and stop any drop troops or ordinance. But they should be no trouble compared to the is the threat you don't see. Look here. They have missile batteries hidden from plain sight. I was lucky enough to spot them myself. From what I saw they were loaded with some kind of surface-to-space proton torpedoes and concussion missiles. Beyond that I wasn't sure what else they had, I didn't have time to check further. But as for troops, there was not many left, a skeleton crew for most part for the last several years. Most scattered into the wind after the previous Dark Lord disappeared as the current one went to war taking what they could with them. Hope that helps gentleman."
  24. Talyn likewise removed his own helmet placing it under one arm, revealing his scarred face and cybernetic implants. His face was one of sadness for the loss of his old mentor and friend, it appeared that the rumours he had heard were true. Kolchak had indeed perished although he was proud he went out on his own terms, taking as many out with him as he could. Like the stubborn old fool he had always been in life. Spitting in the very faces of those some considered gods. Proving them mortal and just crazed fanatics albeit ones with otherworldly abilities. He spoke, his voice calm and yet serious as was the nature of their conversation. "Greetings Agent Qessax, it is sad that such a man is now lost to us...like many other such hero's who saved many more lives with their sacrifices. But somehow I see this as just the beginning. There is always reason to the madness of the Sith I have found with my time among their ranks, nothing is without some purpose. Kolchak spoke highly of you as well, although we never personally met until now. I believe he trained us both simultaneously, though in different fields. It is a shame it is after his death that we met. But regardless of my feelings on this you wanted to know about Korriban. I shall tell you what I found, information which almost cost me my life and forced me to burn my cover. Whilst using my deep cover within the military structure of the Sith, one I had maintained since my younger years, I recently found that the government of Korriban is still Sith affiliated and actively resisting attempts by Galactic Alliance personnel looking to help any to transition. Those that are found to be sympathisers are being rounded up and 'rehabilitated' for lack of a better term for the horror they inflict...or outright executed. I have also found out that miraculously, some of the old native red skinned Sith species or Tsis as I have found they call themselves to stop any confusion between the Order and themselves, still exist there. Although in smaller numbers, they have kept the old hatreds which has only gotten stronger since our last attack and are allied with the Sith but they are no real problem. They shouldn't be an issue during any transition. They tend to hang near the mountains, with some smaller settlements in the deep desert, although they occasionally have been seen hunting the Tu'kata and other beasts and assisting the Sith with archaeological sites or the occasional engineering work. Apparently when Korriban was reborn years ago they returned en masse from among the stars and have been very slowly repopulating the planet. They might not be trouble for now but I would keep an eye on them just in case they become a issue later. That is my full report, I await further instructions and hope I can serve you with the same fervour I once gave to Kolchak." Talyn finally finished, allowing himself a breathe as he allowed Qessax to digest all the information he had provided. No doubt some of it was intriguing, just as he had found it when he first discovered it.
  25. Talyn took a long drag of the cigar he was chewing on as he made his approach towards Ylesia. He look was grim, one that knew the right was far from over...in fact he knew despite appearances it was only just beginning. The real fight. He had seen the enemy, walked along them and knew that such fanaticism would not be so easily silenced. How he wished Kolchak were here, he was certain he would have a few choice words for the situation. He hoped the rumours he had heard were not true, that his old friend, his mentor had not perished as was claimed. He was making the approach when the priority message came through, all agents were to return to the fold for debriefing and reassignment. At least those who were burnt like he was. And yet he knew he had to see for himself if what he heard was true, besides he had vital intelligence to deliver. Intelligence he could only deliver to Kolchak's replacement if he had perished as was indicated by this message. It informed him that Korriban was to be the next target, and it was for this reason he returned, his intelligence concerned the red planet and recent developments there. Sending the required information for approval to enter, his imperial transmission code to confirm who he was and who he worked for he was soon sent below. Upon landing at one of the many landing pads, Talyn quickly made his way towards someone in authority who might be able to direct him towards Kolchak's replacement. "Excuse me, sorry to interrupt. I'm Imperial Intelligence, Agent Talyn Orin, a old friend of Kolchak, I was told report to his replacement following his disappearance. I have vital intelligence that can only be given directly and face to face. For his eyes only so to speak. If you can direct me I would appreciate it, tell him it concerns Korriban and that I knew Kolchak." ((Feel free to direct Talyn to Qessax))
