  1. Kota felt a slight shiver run down his spine unexpectedly at hearing his name spoken. He couldn't really figure out why, but decided that it must have been nothing. So he instead looked back down between his legs at the durasteel he was sitting on with his legs crossed. He reached back out into the Force to see where exactly he felt like these emotions and thoughts echoed from. He then found them. "I could be mistaken, but I believe that they are coming from the dock security office..." It was right then that Kota remembered why the feelings and thoughts felt so familiar to him. He had felt them before he used the Force to kill three dock officers to help him and sister escape.
  2. Kota tried to shake the feeling that he really had nothing, but he at least needed to report on what he did have to Tobias. "It may be nothing... But I can sense very familiar thoughts... feelings almost. Like I know the feelings personally. But sadly, that's about all I can do." Kota made no attempt to hide the fact that he was disappointed with himself at his own results. But there wasn't much that he really could do at the moment. His training really hadn't taught him how to locate people.
  3. Kota felt like he was feeling pushed down and over weighted by so many decisions. Although, none of them were actual decisions, but rather just the feeling of something that he had to accomplish. He felt the pressure to find his sister. He felt pressure to perform well before his master. He felt pressure to filter things out. And all of that pressure felt like a great weight that was clogging up his own mind and locked him in a position of where he could no longer feel a direct feeling from one source or another. Trying his best to calm himself down, he reached back out into the Force in an attempt to feel, but all that came into his mind was chaos of emotions. It felt like an endless wave-an impossible task given to him. Almost as if he was asked to find a spark of light flashing within a sun. The sheer thought of him trying to find anything that could help them felt like he would fail outright. Trying to breathe in and out slowly allowed for him to find some form of focus. Letting each breathe reset his own emotions to reduce them into nothing. He felt like he had been sitting on the floor of the ship for a good few months almost before he opened his eyes. Instinctively, he reached out to Tobias through the Force. I... I think I found something...
  4. Kota did his best to maintain his own emotions as he reached out and tried to feel out his sister. But, all he could feel within the Force was tossing and turning. It felt like he fell in the midst of a hurricane of emotions. Waves after wave struck him, all having it's own thought and pattern of how it wanted to move, and none of it seemed to make sense to him. While trying to stay within the current of the Force, he spoke to Tobias, hoping that he would provide some wisdom on what he should do to help filter out what was not needed. "Tobias, please... I can't filter out the noise. It feels like a hurricane of emotions down there..." It was about all that he could do to explain what he was feeling. The emotions were stirring and felt like he was asked to pick out a needle in a hay stack. Too many people with too many issues on the planet below.

Kota couldn't keep his own thoughts straight. His mind was racing and whirling around so much that he could only half process what Tobias was asking him. Frantically, he spoke with a lot of his own frustration pouring into his words. "... Yes, but... no." Kota tried to recall details of the visions, but the only thing that stood out to him was Haatta's face. She was worried, frightened, and in pain. In his first vision, she was held by a hulking figure cloaked in shadows where there was much cheering and jeering towards her. The cloaked figure in that vision had Haatta in chains. This vision... it almost seemed as if she wasn't bound by a chain anymore, but rather that she was being beaten by what looked almost like a Hutt - yet Kota knew that it wasn't a Hutt. "...I,I... I can't really tell. She's a prisoner wherever she may be..." Kota looked up at Tobias and Aurora with panic and dismay clearly upon his face. He was hoping that either of them would be able to provide the answers that he was seeking.

Kota took a moment to rub his eyes, even with Tobias and Aurora standing within the door frame. It dawned upon him quickly that he had screamed out his master's name in the panic of it all. Deciding to do a decent thing and at the very least, stand up. He couldn't really remove the element of shock from his face, but he turned to them both and spoke with a very shaky voice. "Haatta... My sister... I saw her again within a vision..."

Kota sat in a small space, much like he did while he had his sister, Haata as they tried to escape the slave trades on their home planet. His own mind was spinning from the amount of movement and energy he had already spent trying to learn more about himself, having his sister taken away, finding Tobias and the many adventures he's already been on since then. He had some disappointment recently with using the Force, but his own master seemed to not be bothered with the lack of progress, but rather seemed to be eager to find out where Kota even had strengths. So as he sat onboard the ship, with his mind wandering and not focused, he attempted to hide his own presence - rather unsuccessfully to be blunt. He reached into his pocket with his left hand and held tight to the crystal he had recovered from Ilum. He felt comfort in it, even though the first time he gripped it, it gave him a flash of a vision of some sort that frightened him. What frightened him the most was the image of Haata being controlled by someone else. But even with such an image burned into his mind, he still felt like it was worth it, due to the fact that it was the first time he had seen her since she was taken. For him, he had now been without any family for over two months, and that fact disturbed him. Tobias had become someone whom he could trust, as he was a constant for him recently. Aurora was slowly becoming someone whom he felt like might be able to help the pain he felt deep within his heart from the lack of seeing family, but he also knew that they could never replace them. He closed his eyes and allowed for a single tear to roll off his right eye as he began to fight back the flood of memories and home sickness that was overwhelming him. As his eye opened, he watched the tear fall into his lap, which seemed to go into slow motion. Almost as soon as it hit his leg, it looked as if it turned into a large ocean that rose up and began to surround him. Panic took over every inch of his body and his own instincts were to shout out for Tobias to come to his rescue, but water would crash into his mouth at every attempt. Something wrapped itself around his legs and pulled him fully under the water. With the sudden force pulling him down, the ocean fell and gave way to a darkness. Out of the darkness rose a slug looking creature who began to laugh in away that shook the very ground upon which Kota had landed upon. His arm rose and began to swing a whip looking weapon that reached past Kota and struck someone behind. As he turned to see who it had struck, he found his sister, Haata leaned over with blood pouring down her back. She turned her face towards Kota and reach up for him, speaking softly... "Kota... Save me..."Kota quickly tried to run towards her but a darkness began to swallow her up. But the darkness returned to nothing as his own face slammed hard into the side of the ship's hard wall opposite of the bed he was sitting on. Sweat began to run down his neck as he held his face for a second. His mind that found no concentration before was laser focused now. Without any hesitation, he screamed out. "TOBIAS"
  8. Kota allowed for himself to touch almost every weapon that was available to him. Some seemed like he would enjoy using them, such as a flamethrower. He felt like he would be better suited to use a weapon more like a blaster of some sort, but when he reached the end on the table, he didn't really feel comfortable taking any of the option before him. So, he instead opted for his Quarterstaff that he still carried with him. He pulled it out at the same time that Tobias released two remotes into the air, which quickly turned on and began to stabilize themselves. Kota felt a twinge of panic for a second that he may have chosen the wrong weapon. He was then slightly relived when they instead turned on Tobias instead of him. Planting his staff into the ground, he leaned upon it as he listened to every word that came out of his master's mouth. He spoke so naturally, much like his own movements. It was something that Kota began to admire quickly, the skill set of his master. Even though at one point, he felt like there was some showing off when he flipped the visor part of the helmet down, Kota still kept his eyes upon the movements that Tobias made. When he finished, Kota began to take his own weight off the Quarterstaff and sainted moved himself into a better ready stance for his master. The move seemed to have conveyed something to Tobias, as he directed the deactivated lightsaber towards Kota, which sent panic down his spine for a second. But he felt it wash away quickly as he reached out to take it. Slowly, he walked into the center of the training room with breaths to match his slow walk. He quickly used his right hand to put his Quarterstaff back on his back and stared down the remote for a very long time. He couldn't feel it the way he could feel his master. Closing his eyes for just a second, he allowed a deep breath to be taken in before he opened them again, but this time igniting the blade at the same time he spoke the word "Activate." The remote moved slowly enough for him to keep his eyes upon it, yet its movements were so quick and unpredictable that he felt like this was about to be the start of a long day where he would end up having burns all over his body for weeks. It was then that it happened. The first shot went. For some reason, he felt like his spine tense up, but it didn't lock him up as he was still able to move, to which he did rather quickly. He made a stupid move and jumped his right into a summersault, to which he must not have moved quick enough because as he was rolling up to his feet, his spine tensed up again only to feel a burn within his left shoulder. "Fierfek!" The time to feel bad was lost, as he saw from he corner of his eye the movement of the remote, followed by that same tensing of his spine. Kota acted quicker and bent down, but this time, he allowed himself to be ready to continue to feel for the tension within his spine. When it came, he then stood up and put the blade instinctively in front of his face. Much to his own surprise, the blade caught the blast. It shocked him into a state of surprise that froze him for a second. It too much time to recover, that he wasn't able to react quick enough when his spine tensed up again, so he took another burn to his left thigh. "Oh,Fierfek!" When the burn began to settled down, he felt the same feeling within his spine again, so this time he quickly spun forward, allowing for his own instincts to take over as he moved the blade infant of his body during his spin forward, which ended up deflecting another blaster away from him. As he landed forward, the same sensation struck his spine again, and Kota quickly used his right hand to flick the blade in an upward motion, which ended up catching the blast. Allowing still for his own instincts to be in control, he used his left hand to pull his Quarterstaff off his back and he quickly thrusted it into the remote. Upon impact, the remote flung backwards and seemed to crash into the wall. He made a loud crack sound and then fell to the ground. Kota felt an immediate sense of failure as he turned to look at Tobias, expecting to see his master disappointed in him for breaking the remote.
  9. Kota felt disappointment for a moment after he was unable to actually out what he was feeling, but Tobias seemed to not be bothered by it in the slightest, which made him feel a bit better about. Slowly nodding his head, he stood up from the table and followed after Tobias as they walked towards the dojo. Within his own mind, he felt like he needed to have something happen positively in order to feel like following Tobias off Iridonia would be worth it. Did I make the right choice? It was a thought that he knew he wouldn't get an answer for anytime soon. Only time would tell.
  10. The very fact that Tobias was calm and still eager put a little hesitation within Kota for a second. He wasn't sure why his master wasn't disappointed in his lack of ability to use the Force. Is he testing me? The thought was quick and passing as he tried to think back on what he did feel. "Umm... I could feel you. Kel. Aurora... I could feel something that was larger then you guys, but I wasn't focusing upon it..." Kota then closed his own eyes again and began to reach out. The energy around him swirled as he could still feel Tobias next to him... Although, he was able this time to tell that not all of Tobias was fully present... Somehow he was still with Aurora and Kel who had walked away. Strange. And then surrounding him, his fellow students, the workers was something else that he couldn't quite figure out. "I can feel it now, but I don't know what it is exactly..."
  11. Kota let his own frustration show as he glanced over at Tobias as he spoke. He didn't want to hear that from him, yet he knew that deep down his master was correct. He needed to slow down and not focus on the end result. Although for only a moment, he held his own stern gaze at Tobias as he finished before letting out a heavy sigh and let his own stern face go. He turned his face back towards the napkin that covered the fork, but he looked up at the hall for a second only to get perspective on the size of monster his master had fought. Looking back down at the napkin again, he said rather quietly under his own breath. "Alright, I'll try it again." Kota closed his eyes and allowed for the energy that he had felt for the first time on Taris to fill him. Again, much like before, he could feel Tobias next to him, along with other students and workers moving around the room. He still couldn't feel the fork. With feeling the same results, he pulled his lips together and in as he tried to fight against the defeated feeling that was swirling up inside him. He had to push through it, trying to find the fork in the Force. He looked hard through his own mind's eye, yet he could not find it. Outwardly, his own eyes sealed tighter as he began to really search for the fork in the Force. Because he could not feel it, he decided to try to move the napkin away from the fork, at least to give him something to celebrate at the very least. As he tried to move it, he began to have his body slightly shake again, and his focus was so hard upon it that he began to have sweat drip from his forehead. After a long moment, he felt himself losing energy and the will to keep it up, so he opened his eyes again and began to pant slightly. "I can't... I can't find it in the Force..."
  12. Kota watched Aurora very closely out of the corner of his own eyes. He was slightly jealous that she was able to have a bit more success come more easily than his own attempts. Doing his best to stare at the spoon and move it with his mind seemed almost impossible, and his own frustration was beginning to rise. Luckily, or maybe just pure wisdom, Tobias whispered to him, encouraging him to clear his mind and that there was no rush. He had to let out a very heavy sigh as he attempted to push the success of Aurora out of his mind. He stared very intently at the napkin, where he knew that the fork he would need was under it. He pictured the fork in his mind-which seemed stupid to him. This seems like a waste of time... He quickly shook his own head, which may have seemed strange to anyone else, but he knew that Toabis was able to feel his thoughts. That was a poor way for him to view this. He needed to remain calm and focused. He now lifted his right hand to remain at his side, which was still a decent distance from the fork that he wanted. He closed his own eyes and began to breathe in and out slowly. He allowed for the picture of the fork to enter his mind again, and remain this time around. He reached out with his feelings, his perceptions, trying to see if he could feel the the fork. He couldn't. The fork held no life in it, unlike Aurora and Tobias and Kel, all of which were now around him and he could feel them. The fork... he couldn't. Feeling some more pressure that he was now putting on himself, he began to strain his mind to reach out to feel the fork and attempt to pull it to himself. He knew that he was straining visibly due to the fact that he could feel his lifted hand shaking. In fact; his entire right arm muscles were now shaking and tightened as he attempted to try to pull the fork to him. After he kept trying, slowly his breathing, there was still no movement. Putting his hand back down at his side, he was overwhelmed with a defeated mindset. He wasn't able to do what Aurora did, and now he felt like he had failed Tobias. Not wanting to talk much after the defeat, he reached out his his left hand now and just picked up something to eat off the plate that Aurora had offered to him, choosing to not use the fork but his hands instead to eat.
  13. Kota kept his own eyes on the overgrowth of the world around him. There was much of it that seemed strange to him, yet somehow very familiar. Even as he sat on a cot within his quarters that were given to him, he felt as if all he could do was stare at the crystal that sat within his hands. He still wasn’t exactly sure what he should do with it. He had been told it was used in the weapon called a lightsaber, but to him, it seemed odd to place such a rare thing into a weapon. Letting out a sigh, he placed the crystal back into the pouch that was upon his belt. He fell backwards onto the cot for a moment before realizing that he had not eaten for a very long time. He stood up and walked to find himself some food that would taste decent enough to help him think on something else that wasn’t the crystal or Haata. He would have much rather be thinking about Sandy, but she seemed to be far too important to even give him the thought of day. He was just another person who was in and out her life. In the end, he understood that such a thought of her wasn’t something that he should have on his mind. So instead, he thought upon the type of food that he might encounter on this humid planet. As he walked in, he quickly spotted Tobias and Aurora sitting down eating. He turned his gaze towards the line of food that he could choose from. He slowly walked through and picked up a single piece of fruit looking thing that looked appealing and what smelled and looked like a pastry of some kind. That was about it. He didn’t find anything else that really stood out as something that he could muster to eat. So, taking his two pieces of food, he went and sat down with Tobias and Aurora, offering up to both a half smile of a young teen who had way too much on his mind. Lifting his pastry and taking a bite, he found that the texture of it was far crunchier than what he assumed, and held a taste that reminded him of Malastarian fuel. He quickly let the majority of it fall out of his mouth and back onto the plate. Feeling very disappointed with his food options, he decided to ask for something that was well worth his time. “Master, when can I learn to do… Force stuff?...”

The crystal called him. He couldn't explain it, but it's what Kota knew. Somehow it was there. He watched it as it approached his hands, or maybe he moved his own hands towards it? He couldn't decide. Instead, he looked deep into it's glass-like features. He felt a slight tinge within his spine as his fingers slowly grasped it. It was then that there was a rush within his own head. Darkness oozed around him quickly, turning the cave dark. Fog began to rise from the ground accompanied by a shrill scream or cry. Kota turned around to come face to face with Haata. His heart jumped up to his throat as he felt the need to breathe, but couldn't muster the strength to do so. Haata stood with a chain around her neck with a hulking figure hidden within the shadows holding the other end. She was wearing almost nothing, and the screams were slowly replaced with cheers and jeers towards her. An anger began to rise within him and he lifted his hand to reach out to grab her and save her from what had befallen her. But almost as soon as his hand was in range to touch her, she was pulled back with a vicious tug from the hulking figure, and Haata was dragged into the shadows, no longer within his own sight. The Hulking figure seemed to draw a weapon and began to step forward. The shadow followed him, adorning him with a black hooded robe that hide who he was. With a sudden snap-hiss, a red blade emerged, forcing Kota to the ground to avoid being overtaken by the blade. As he hit the ground, a yellowish blade seemed to stand next to him. He turned his head slowly to see a man with brown hair standing at the ready along with another figure holding a blue blade. As he looked around, he realized that the two stood in the middle of eighteen hooded figures all holding burning red blades. He was suddenly overwhelmed with the sense that the two he looked at were going to die where they stood. With a loud piercing scream from one of the hooded figures, they all charged in at the two in the middle of their circle. Kota went to cover his head only to be pulled down what felt like a blackhole in a very loud vacuum sound. Instinctually he pulled his own arms forward to try to slow himself down. The speed of which he fell seemed to only affect his mind, as a single object began to slowly appear before him. It was spinning quickly and rapidly. Kota quickly could tell that the object was cylinder in shape and it too also called out to him somehow. As he reached for it, the shrill screams returned and grew louder within his ear as he made every effort to reach forward the grab a hold of it. Somehow, Kota knew that if he could grab ahold of it, everything would stop. He did his best to reach and extend himself, and with every effort he put into reaching, the shrill screams grew louder and more ear piercing. Being overwhelmed with a feeling of desperation, he made a last reach. Upon touching the cylinder, the vacuum sound returned with the darkness being pulled away from the cave, only to reveal he was no longer in the cave, but the ship. As the vacuum sound died off, a very faint yet strong and deep sounding voice spoke loudly within his mind. "Follow the Guardian... The voice disappeared as did everything else. Kota was now sitting on his backside on the floor of the ship staring at a single crystal. It held a Viridian looking color and seemed to echo out a feeling of calm to him...

Kota made a sight upset expression with his face without even thinking about it. He knew he had done so out of instinct and not emotion, because he didn't;t feel upset about anything. It was more just a natural reaction to having being left by someone who was considered a caretaker. Although, he really didn't mind being left in the presence of Sandy. He also held a slight disappointment in not being given an answer as to what he felt, other then Frond making a slight attempt at it. But for now, he was left with a single instruction from his Master- an instruction that he fully didn't understand. Looking at Adenna and Sandy, he spoke rather bluntly. "Those ugly things is what he wants me to make friends with?" Kota eyed the panther looking creatures. It didn't look very intriguing, and he was far more interested in find a crystal in a way that touched him through the Force as described by his master, and along with the other Jedi apprentices. "Do you think that maybe we could uh... just go the finding more crystals as we wait?"

Kota did his best to try to understand the words that Tobias spoke about the crystals. They seemed… eloquent in a way that it rested any question that could even come to his own mind. Yet, somehow still… he was no closer to fully understanding what exactly it all meant. No one else seemed to bat an eye at the words spoken. He allowed for a moment to steal a glance at Sandy to see what she was doing. Her eyes were not on him, yet he could see her eyes flicker in the soft light of the cave. Her skin was soft and appeared cold to even him. But he decided that it was no place for him to let his own mind stay focused upon her. He pulled his own coat closer as he moved to try to stay close to Tobias. Although there was a sense that Tobias was almost like the cool uncle, the tree like creature Frond radiated something familiar to him that he couldn’t figure out. It stirred some emotions within him, but nothing that he could place a finger on. It was like being homesick for a place he’d never been or seen. Kota eyed the creature before turning his own eyes downward to watch every step of Tobias. He quickly decided that it must just be the crystals he stored in his body that was radiating the feeling. As he walked looking down, he felt a few emotions rise up. Fear. It rose like a great wave and then crashed into despair. He felt sadden by the amount of pressure of the two combined. The sadness became heavy quickly and brought a terrible tension to the forefront of his head. He had to stop and place both hands upon his head for a moment to get it to stop. It didn’t stop though. He looked up to see that he had fallen back a bit, but not too far behind. “…What is that feeling…” Kota said it as he fought back tears that threatened to fall from his eyes. He wasn't even certain who would have heard him, or if he was even loud enough to be heard.

The planet was indeed cold and it felt as if he was stuck in a fridge of some sort. Kota didn’t mind it so much, but rather just had an annoyance to it. Plus, he never truly got a chance to feel such cold airs before. He decided that such a thing was something he would need to find his own solution to fast, as it clearly didn’t bother everyone else as much as it did for him. From the corner of his own eye, he looked at Frond and watched his movements. The tree like being seemed to have a knowledge and connection to the Force that surpassed what Kota could even imagine, or at least he assumed that was the case. There was some mystery as to what he was looking at, as he hung back from the rest of the group, but then Tobias spoke about what Frond had found. The sense in the air changed to hold a tingle of sharp coldness as he walked closer and listened in to what Tobais spoke of. He looked down at the bodies, or rather, the crystals as his master spoke. At a first glance, he couldn’t really tell anything special about them. They were small, and color seemed to be absent from them. He reached down to poke one with his gloved finger to see if anything special would happen. Nothing. Turning his own face to disappointment, he looked up at Frond for a second to see if the tree like being was able to get them to do anything for him. But he held a smile upon his face and seemed rather satisfied with just the way they looked. He then turned to face the Kel Dor, but he seemed okay with just staring at them from the distance where he stood. Kota now looked down at the crystals again and let a lopsided frown take over his face. Well this is disappointing for sure. There was a sense of him wanting something special to happen upon touching them, as the other two clearly felt content with just staring at them. And outside of Frond gently moving his fingers over them, Kota was the only one to touch them. Feeling far less satisfied with how things turned out so far, he stood up and began to walk closer to Tobias Vos. He let his own emotions hang openly upon his face as he came to stand next to him. “What was is the purpose of the crystals exactly? You said they share a bond with Jedi... but I’m not sure I understand what you mean by that?”

Kota felt like he was placed into a daze of sorts since the arrival of others on Iridonia. He still hadn't gotten his chance to talk with Sandy, the girl of whom he figured was a Jedi Knight, and therefore would outrank him in a sense. It was all very new to him, the aliens encountered, the lingo used, and even to have someone care for him without any reason at all. Although, deep down, he felt as if Tobias held another reason to wanting to take him as an apprentice. He just couldn't figure it out yet. And then there was Frond... There was something about the tree like creature that almost begged a curiosity. Part of him wanted to know more about him and why he was so willing to leave his own home and become... a fish out of water? He made a mental note to inquire as to his past and his life down the road. As he followed everyone off the ship, he was met with the strong cold air. He wasn't prepared for it at all and almost immediately had rock hard nipples due to the cold stinging air. He tried to wrap the coat he was given closer and tighter, but it was to no avail. Choosing that he could ignore it until they reached a bit warmer spot, he walked up to stand next to Tobias, or as he figured he should start calling him, Master. He heard the very soft murmured words leave his mouth, and Kota felt like it was his job to respond. "Iridonia held arid air. This planet has glass shattering cold." Kota lifted a hand to indicate his rock hard nipples before he continued. "I'd rather the stuffiness of the ship. Why are we here again?"
  19. Kota seemed to be caught even more off guard by the line of questions that came his way. He looked for a second between the Kel Dor named Kel Koon, Tobias, the tree looking thing called Frond, and Sandy. He wasn't sure if his own truthful answer would be enough for what she was looking for. He knew that Tobias wanted to truth from him, as he made it very clear from early on-he expected it. Since it looked as if his own answer wasn't going to be heard by Tobias and Frond, as the two seemed distant suddenly, Kota instead choose to focus upon Sandy and the Kel Dor. "Truthfully... the allure of being able to save what I hold dear. Only a six weeks ago did I smuggle myself and my sister off Shili. My village was being sold into slavery, so I did my best to protect her as our parents gave us a chance to escape. We landed on Taris, to which after a horrible two weeks of trying to survive, my sister was captured by slavers and I was forced to run. I spent some time Coruscant, but my time on Taris marked me by the officials, which lead for me to get into further trouble. I finally came here to escape. That's when I ran into Tobias Vos, who offered to train me how to save whatever I hold dear. " Kota hoped that his bluntness and his own marked by the law wouldn't keep Sandy from not liking him. For some reason, it was very important to him that she did in fact like him.
  20. How to save whatever you hold dear, those words rang loudly within Kota’s own mind over and over again. They were alluring, tempting in every way possible to him. He wanted to know more badly, but then there was a tree looking thing that was talking, along with a few others. He was a bit surprised to see that at one of them knew Tobias. In fact, the one that did know him was a very beautiful girl. Had the bench of the booth he was in had been higher to the table, he was sure everyone would have heard the clear bang upon the table. He took her hand in a quick handshake, to which he felt his body temperature go up upon even touching her hand. He took a long moment to stare at her as Tobias spoke, recounting some tale. He didn’t really know. His mind was not at all on him, but the girl who held a very passive, beauty that he couldn’t shake. He found himself smiling for no reason at all and was only able to break it by the fact that a branch looking thing was in his face. It was then that he realized that the creature who called himself Frond was sitting in the booth with him. He tried to not looked concerned and instead offered up a smile to him. Frond began to talk about balance and the Force himself. His speech was something that was hard to follow, yet Kota was able to figure out what he wanted to say… with a lot of focus. After he was done, Frond seemed to gain a look of concern for what he had said or something different. Refusing to make eye contact with the beautiful girl, he looked right at Tobias to see why the creature felt the way he did, only to see a look on Tobias’ own face that hinted he was waiting on Kota to respond. It then clicked that he did in fact, not respond to his offer. “Oh! Fierfek! I’m sorry. Yes, my answer is yes.”
  21. ((Co-written with Tobias Vos)) Kota held his own breath for a moment. The very thought of having to explain to someone why he had killed someone and how left a very rock hard lump in his own throat. It took him a while to actually overcome the very intended nature of speaking of a situation that was hard to recall for him. “I...I won’t lie. Upon killing those on Taris… adrenaline kicked in. There was a certain… rush you could say. I was overcome with a white hot rage both times that I did kill. Both were connected to me getting anger that my sister’s life was being threatened. I can’t actually recall how I did any of it, other than my emotions completely took over. I never touched any of them, yet they all were upon the floor, covered in their own blood and I knew that I was the one who brought it upon them.” It was then that tears began to trickle out of his own eyes. In the moment, killing them didn’t provoke such a strong emotion at the time, as his own rage and anger were all that he could feel. Yet now… Now that he was able to think about it, it own mind was becoming overwhelmed with all of the emotions. Although, he was still very much aware that he was in a cantina, so he held onto his own tears and refused to let them fall. His body began to shake very slightly. ~~~~~~ As Tobias listened to Kota talk about what happened the Jedi Master was witness to the Kashyyyk battle again… it was all still fresh in his mind. The smell, the feeling of… he shuddered and tried to distance that with a cold drink. So, he had been a slave and his sister was no longer with him. As the young boy let forth his story- sad and short, Tobias let a silence linger as the boy idly toyed with the drink in his hands. “Well, Kota…” Tobias took another drink. “I think I have heard enough, for now. I do not fault you for doing what you had to to survive. I was once like you- a boy with dreams, hoping on cargo ships jumping from planet to planet, trying to become someone who slavers would be frightened of, return and defeat those who wronged me in the past. But I became something more than just a thug- I became a true warrior. A warrior knows the three disciplines. The mind, the body and the spirit- but that's a philosophical chat for another time! I am enjoying these drinks solo, and alcohol does make one a bit talkative.” Vos laughed, mostly at himself for a brief moment. “Would you like to become my apprentice? I can’t promise it will all be fun and games, but I see such potential in you.” Tobias held out his hand- the meaning was clear: if Kota shook it- he would enter into the wonderful world of training. He had to decide though, as if it really were a decision. Although, Kota would be surprised to see a small party thrown for him so suddenly… Sandy and two others would soon be here. Tobias was glad this booth was big enough for all of them, and there was drinks for them all. As if he almost planned this…. His hand was still stretched out to Kota still, awaiting a reply. ~~~~~ Kota almost had shock take over his entire body. The man didn’t even bat an eyelash over the fact that he had killed on Taris. His own disbelief began to sink in. How in the whole galaxy can someone not have a reaction. Maybe the galaxy is much more tougher than I thought… Maybe I have a whole lot more to learn… He stared at his drink, only slightly and mildly aware that there was silence. That was, until he was offered something by Tobias. Apprentice? What did that even mean? He was a bit confused at the comment that he didn’t even bother to hide his own emotions. He blurted out his own response and somehow didn’t even realize that Tobias was holding out his hand. “Umm… Apprentice? To what exactly?”
  22. There was indeed some panic for Kota as he moved through the streets. He had wished that he had enough experience to fully understand what it was that he was feeling, yet he could not. There was something in the air that made him feel like he was being hunted, yet it didn't strike fear into him. Curious that such a feeling could even exist. He then took a quick sniff in the air. The arid air held a mixture of things in it, such as fuel, food, trash, and some other things that he couldn't quite place his finger on, yet he felt like he should know it. Carefully walking into the more busy streets, he relied upon his own senses to try to pick up some conversation that might help him find what he was looking for, and to be very honest, Kota had no idea what it was that he was looking for. There was some conversation about a crew getting excited and throwing a party in one of the cantina's for the success of one of their own operations. He felt a strong sense of urgency to find that cantina, so he turned himself and began to find his way in. The security for the bar was low, as they let him just walk in. He was expecting to get stopped for being underage, but the local authorities might be very relaxed to some things he figured. So he took full advantage and walked up to the bar where there was a group who were laughing and making noise. It didn't take a genius to figure out that these were the ones who were celebrating. He lingered around them, until they all got some drinks and began to walk away towards the corner; a party room that they must have reserved. Kota played the situation to his advantage and turned towards the bartender with a smile and chuckle. "Oh wait, you forgot our 3 glasses of Idlewil. Boss won't be happy if I forgot to bring him that!" It was the only drink he remembered that some of the smugglers on Taris would drink. It was also the only way he could get some drink without getting carded and discovered as someone who was underage. The bartender, who clearly just wanted the group to go back to their private room, quickly poured three glasses and handed them over to Kota. He was quick to smile and turn to walk with the group, but tucked away and hide into a side table that was somewhat in the dark. He figured from here, he would be able to drink in peace without anyone noticing what he had just done.
  23. Kota sat at the helm of his ship that he had claimed for himself and renamed, Lazy Mynock as he piloted it down to Malidris, the capital city of the world Iridonia. Somehow, the dark and ashen looking world reminded him of a dream had had a few times while on Taris. Even as he began to land his ship, the air looked so arid that he was becoming a bit more dreadful of what it would actually be like upon stepping off of his ship. He also held a moment of wonder if he would have to sneak and trick his way into the city here much like he did back on Coruscant. But there was no real time to actually consider what that might mean, or even if it would happen. For now, he just simply needed to land. As the ship began its own process of powering down, Kota released to landing ramp and allowed for it to fully lower before walked down. He took advantage of the long lowering to take in a few deep breaths before he walked down. Almost as soon as he could see the dock, there was three Zabraks waiting, all dressed in yellow and black uniforms. He couldn’t figure out which one was the dock officers and which ones were just crew that would do what they were supposed to do. As he reached the bottom of the landing ramp, the three began to move towards him. He allowed for himself to take a few steps before he bowed. “Hello, my name is Kota Ni. I have traveled far to reach a port that would allow for me to do business.” The female Zabrak, who was now clearly the main dock officer gave him a look that told him she knew he was full of it. The face made him have a very hard swallow of panic. “Kota… You changed the registry. It used to be owned by a Twi’lek who called it Moot Aklay. He was a well known smuggler who would export Yarrock…” At the very mention of the past of the ship made a shiver take over his body along with a tingle of cold that ran down his spine. How on earth could he have been so stupid to go to a planet that was already within the navicomputer of a ship that he had stolen. There was a sense of a tightening grip upon his throat as he tried to speak clearly. “Well, yes. He had me take over this part of his operation… Yirrack is needed… on Taris, where his attention is kind of bus-“ “You don’t need to worry little one. That slime stole credits from the dock the last time he was here. I could care less if you killed him or stole his ship. This planet doesn’t have as many rules upon it as others like Taris or more core world. While we may be a part of the Galactic Alliance, their rules haven’t taken effect fully here, and nor has anyone really bothered to show up and enforce them. So as long as you can pay the docking fee, I’ll let you wander as much as your young heart wants to.” Kota still had a tiny sense that his life was still endanger on this planet, yet he couldn’t really argue that paying the docking fee to be just like anyone else that came to this planet was a very good deal. In fact, he might be able to pick up work and find a stable job here. “…Okay then. I’ll pay the docking fee, so long as I have your word that I can return to my ship anytime…” The dock officer looked at him with a face that suggested she was rather confused with the question but held out her hand to accept the credits as she responded. “I don’t know why you wouldn’t be able to do so, but sure. I’ll promise you that you can return at any time to your ship. So long as you don’t break any rules and the government has no reason to detain you or to lock your ship down, you’re free to come back as often as you like.” Kota decided that he was better off paying sooner rather than later, so he handed over the docking fee and then moved slowly at first, but then got himself up to a normal pace as he walked further away from his ship. For some reason, he felt like this planet was going to be the place where he would find a way to make it in the galaxy…
  24. Kota Ni

    Space

Kota sat within the pilot's chair of a Lambda-class shuttle that held the current name of Moot Aklay. Taking his time, he was very careful to change the ID signature, along with the name and historical logs of where the ship had been. It was a priority for him to make sure that upon coming to Coruscant, that he wouldn't be picked up the port authority almost immediately upon landing. He needed to have time to find his way to someone who could help him get his sister back from the filthily slavers. After about a good hour had past, Kota was finally able to change the name of the vessel, along with it's history of where it's been and locked the navicomputer. It was now called the Lazy Mynock, and it belonged to Kota Ni. Now was his time to walk around the ship and get comfortable with it before he landed on Coruscant. The overall layout had changed from the main standard style of Lambda-class shuttles that he had seen. The bridge held only 4 chairs instead of six. The back area held four sleeping quarters, a refresher, a dejarik board, some side storage panels, and then the access to the back gunner position. It was unique enough, yet now far more roomy for long term travel. This was a ship that was well worth stealing. The back area held room for some extra storage area if he ever needed it, but he doubted that whatever job or occupation he was able to find on Coruscant would be something that would require such a need. After a very detailed inspection, the cockpit beeped at him letting him know that he was coming upon Coruscant, so Kota moved back up to the bridge to prepare the exit from lightspeed and it's decent towards one of the busiest planets there was.
  25. *** Six Hours Later *** Kota kept Haatta close by the entire time as the two of them slowly climbed down the fire escapes of the apartment complex that they had found their way inside of ten days ago. The climb down wasn't as bad as perhaps the climb up would have been, mainly because Kota had gotten really good at both elements of it after ten days of doing it. As the two climbed down, he found himself wondering what sort of mess he had gotten them into. They were not on their home planet, away from their parents, and to make matters worse, had a bounty on both their heads. As of right now, he needed to get them both far away from Taris as possible. Although he had to admit, it was going to be tough. Even if he could get them past the security at the docks, stealing a ship would be almost impossible to accomplish. Not without a massive amount of luck could he do this. As the two of them moved quietly through the streets in a very discreet way, dodging and weaving throughout the crowds of people-which wasn't too much as it was late at night. Kota had to strategically move them so that they would stay in the more crowded areas, or else they could be found easily. It was a bit tricky at times, but otherwise he found the best way to the lower level starport docks. From his limited view, he could tell that at least three ships occupied a pad, and a few ships were either coming or going-he was unable to fully tell. This is going to be a bit difficult With some slow movement towards the outer office at the starport dock, Kota could see that there were indeed three ships docked at a landing pad, although it looked like one was being loaded up with supplies, one seemed cold as if it had been resting there for a few hours already. And the final one looked as if the crew was still disembarking. With some luck, that ship will be the easiest to take. And from what I hear, Lambda-class T-4a shuttles are fairly easy to pilot… It would still take a lot, as the security seemed to have picked up as the docks since their arrival almost eleven rotations ago. He would need a distraction. "Kota… I have a bad feeling about this…" Kota turned to look at Haatta. She herself was also taking a look to see what sort of trouble the two of them could fall into. She held a point. Even he could feel something deep within him warning him of an impending doom that was about occur if they stayed on their path. Yet what choice did he have? The hideout he had found for the two of them had become compromised. Bounty Hunters were looking for them on the planet now. If they didn't leave within the next two hours, both would most likely become just a recent trophy in the career of a rookie bounty hunter looking to make a name for themselves. "We don't have a choice anymore. We have to succeed, not matter what. - Let's go." Kota stood up and began to move alongside crates full of supplies that had been unloaded and were scheduled to be moved sometime tomorrow. They needed to find something to use as a distraction to help lure the guards away from the docks. It was something that he knew he had to find in order to give both him and Haatta a chance to get off the planet. Making a few stops and runs behind crates that helped shield him and Haatta from unfriendly eyes, along with allowing for him to pick up words from the conversations happening around the dock. It was very useful to hear that the pickup of security was due to supplies needing to be taken to the Galactic Alliance. Some ship named Aero Prancer apparently was expected to make touchdown on Triple Zero sometime within five rotations. That could easily work to his advantage if he could figure out which ship was the Aero Prancer. But what would help him the most would be a distraction to draw people away… It was then that something caught Kota's eye. A glimmer from armor of a man who was walking upon a ramp about four levels up near the starport dock. If only there was a way to get him to fall or trip and fall down… He stared at the man, wishing heavily for him to fall, when suddenly-he did. He fell over by a speeder racing too fast and close to where he was walking and the man fell over the ledge, landing near the main office of dock authority. Upon him landing, all of the officers and extra crew of other ships quickly ran towards the man who had fallen over. "Now's our chance, run towards that ship!" Quickly him and Haatta stood up and began to run towards the ship that Kota had pointed to. With everyone else extremely distracted by the man falling, the practically had a clear run to the shi-. No. Two men in armor jumped out of nowhere, fully armed with blasters pointed at the two of them. So much for a clear shot. Haatta stopped as fast as she could and threw herself behind something for cover. Kota kept charging, sliding low as he pulled out his staff and swung it to knock down the two men. As he continued his slide and spun around to stand up to see what sort of offensive he would need to do in order to let his sister get past them. Much to his own surprise, they were both knocked down on the floor. The six guys who had snuck up behind them however, were still standing. "The Zygerrians are offering a lot of credits for you two… well, more like just her. I think you're as worth as much to us dead as you could ever be. Kill him." Almost as soon as the wannabe bounty hunter spoke the order, he grabbed Haatta forcefully by the arm and began to pull her backwards away from the fray. Kota had a moment to think before he had to react. Blaster fire had begun to ensue, causing massive mayhem and drawing the attention of the dock authority officers, who were now trying to return to settle things down. As Kota moved to get away from blaster fire, the two men whom he had knocked down began to arise again. Kota spun where he was at and delivered a few focused strikes to one of them, while keeping himself in a position of where the other hunter would have to risk being hit by a stray blaster bolt or have the other stop for a moment. The focused strikes were enough to put one of the hunters into a daze as he knocked him unconscious. Using a nearby pole as momentum, Kota ran up part of it and spun around to kick the other attacker who was close to him in the chest, providing temporary cover as he knocked him back towards the other five men who were shooting at him. He quickly found himself hiding behind a crate for cover as blaster fire resumed after the very short pause. He struggled to look around to see what angle he could gain to help take out the rest of his assailants and get his sister back. But it was then he saw it, from the corner of his hiding spot, the bounty hunter dragging his now stunned sister by her head-tails up a ramp and into his ship. There was suddenly a great emotion that was overflowing within himself. It was a very hot white anger. It was a strong sense of disappointment. It was grief. It was somehow all three at the same time. It encouraged him to act, yet it paralyzed him with fear. For the first time since he decided to smuggle him and his sister off of Shili, he didn't know what to do. But he had to do something. With nothing but a second of a thought, he acted. The white-hot rage overtook him as he watched the shuttle that held his sister began to pull away from the landing pad. He stood up and with a loud shout, he lifted his hands and pointed them with force at the men shooting at him. He wanted them to feel his anger, his pain. He wanted them to know that he was hurt deeply. Kota himself didn't even understand why he decided to use such an action to display his emotions, but he did. And for some reason, he was rewarded. There was a loud sound that came like a hurricane blowing strong wind that knocked and pushed all seven men backwards a good fifty feet. The action itself put the young Togruta into shock for a second. But it could only last a second, as he had to act. He quickly had to turn and run. He wasn't going to get a second chance at this. With a burst of energy and adrenaline, he ran towards the Lambda-class T-4a shuttle and quickly boarded it and got it off the ground before the dock authority could put a lock on the ship. Using the momentum he had, he had the ship blast off towards space and with some luck, a chance to find and rescue his sister… Meanwhile on the dock, the main port authority officer quickly rounded up the bounty hunters and placed them under arrest for the disruption they helped cause at the docks. Turning towards his men, he spoke. "Send word to the GA and CoreSec. A runaway Togruta male, responsible for killing three men on a Lambda-class shuttle. He's their problem now."
