And as he grew up, Talvok found that the prospect of helping and defending the people people around him was more than just an idea; it became a calling to him. Talvok ended up attending the Imperial Academy at Carida, earning marks that were above average. But Talvok’s strong moral compass sometimes clashed with his instructors, as the young man found himself disagreeing with certain policies of the Empire at large and argued against them. Still, Talvok knew he was considered lucky to be an Imperial cadet at the Carida Academy, and resolved to finish what he had begun. But as graduation approached, the gnawing feeling in his heart and soul grew to be too much for Talvok to ignore, and so with only one semester left, he left the Academy. For a few years, Talvok bounced around, finding work as a mercenary. He did his best to only sign on to jobs that required him to defend those he saw as being innocent, and the task became easier as time went on and his reliability lead to referrals and return patrons. Twice during this period he ended up turning on the people that hired him, deeming the proposed targets of his abilities to be more deserving of his protection. Six months before Mand’alor rallied the clans to defend Concord Dawn against the threat posed by Ab’ki, Talvok took a contract that saw him working with a team of other mercenaries, one of which was a Mandalorian. The team was tasked with freeing the inhabitants of the planet Kesh from a self-declared god. The team worked together well, but it was the Mandalorian, Lee’cla, that Talvok felt a kinship to. As their mission progressed the two became fast and devoted friends to the other, and emerged as the co-leaders of their small mercenary band. Though their mission ultimately failed to locate this ‘god’, they managed to free a number of inhabitants from his influence before Lee’cla received the call from Mandalore to rally. The mandalorian invited the entire group of mercenaries to join him in the defense of his home, and after some convincing, Talvok agreed, and traveled with Lee’cla to participate in defending Concord Dawn. Talvok found his time on Concord Dawn to be the most difficult expanse of his life thus-far. During that time he saw combat on a level he had never seen before, but even without armor like those around him, Talvok continued to pull his weight best he could, and to watch their backs. Like so many others, Talvok earned a position of respect among Lee’cla’s clan through his continued combat prowess and devotion to the protection of Concord Dawn. That respect among the Firaxan Clan was further cemented after Lee’cla fell in battle against a raid of Ab’ki’s forces. The rest of the clan expected Talvok, as an outsider, to abandon them; after all, Lee’cla was the entire reason the young man was even here. But Talvok had, without realizing it, found a sense of belonging among the Mandalorians of Firaxan clan. And although the planet was not his own, nor was he a Mandalorian, they were still people in need of help. That was the entire premise that had forced him to leave the Carida Academy and become a mercenary in the first place. Talvok resolved to stay and continue to fight among Firaxan for the remainder of the conflict, both for his own peace of mind, and in memory of his friend. Now in the calm following the conflict, Talvok remains among the Mandalorians, doing his best to learn their customs and their language as he tries to fit in among them, having found a place that he is confident to call a new home, unaware that the clan he had helped defend and protect, was about to adopt him and bring him fully into the fold of the Mandalorians. 2. Manufacturer: Hyyg'Vaas Industries Model: K36-D5/L Designation: Blaster Rifle Hyyg'Vaas Industries Model K36-D5/L 'Custom' Blaster Rifle. The Hyyg'Vaas K36 was primarily designed for military use to fill the roll of a blaster rifle capable of both heavy suppressive fire and precision shots out to 5-600 yards. It was used by many different defense forces throughout the systems. It's primary characteristics include a long cryo-bored barrel that, even through excessive heat, was able to maintain fantastic accuracy. Unfortunately, because of the inherent weight of the rifle from the long barrel and outdated cooling cells, it was at times cumbersome and ended up being faded out of standard issue use and was eventually strictly issued to heavy weapon teams. Hyyg'Vaas made one major improvement when they released the K36-D5; a completely overhauled external venting system that was able to dump excessive heat in large blasts forward of the muzzle to extend fire rate and prolong the lifespan of the barrel. A few commandos and mercenaries would use this new dissipation system offensively, containing the heat and pressure inside of the cells for prolonged periods of combat and trigger the venting system in close quarters as a less lethal way to incapacitate and neutralize high value targets at the expense of the plasma cells and firing mechanism. Normally, this blaster is capable of 100 sustained high power plasma shots before the excessive heat needs to be vented. Venting the excessive heat past 300 sustained high power plasma shots will create a forward blast capable of knocking enemies in front of the rifle to the ground, and at times, the user as well. The D5/L variant was made in smaller numbers for private military contractors who requested them for their left-handed commandos.
  3. Manufacterer: Bhotzford Industries Model: F29 Weapon Designation: Blaster Pistol The Bhotzford F29 Blaster Pistol was a revolutionary blaster pistol for its time, capable of firing single shot or a six round burst, or even a shockblaster type salvo for close range encounters. It was designed to compete with the EE3 Blaster, but overheating issues and the high recoil caused by the shockblast mode created higher than average stress on the blaster itself, causing reliability issues. Because of their unmatched firepower in such a small package, the pistols themselves, while rare, are sought after by those few with the knowledge to fine tune the blaster and make it an extremely reliable weapon.
