  1. Ooof! The Tamaranean exclaimed. Starfire was dropped into the arena on her bum and hit a sharp rock on her way down. Picks of recognition wormed their way up her spine and she saw the world around her shine with glorious luminescence. “Oh, my! The flakes of icy whiteness. What glorious misfortune!” Starfire exclaimed, her excited expression muted by a scrunched grimace. Her nose was instantaneously plagued with a reddish hue and the tamaranean broke into a fit of sneezes. Starfire curled her robe about her body and bowed her head. Her hair was speckled with ice and fog hovered a few millimeters from her mouth. She did what she could to raise the cloth to shield her body, but the lack of ultraviolet rays was stifling. Her power was diminished and she couldn’t reach her senses any further than mundane limitations would allow. “Where are my friends? Where am I?” Starfire mused aloud. Her thoughts barely made it a whisper beyond her cloak. But she swore that her questions were going to get answers; someday. Turned out, that day was right that very second. The Tamaranean’s obliviousness wormed her into colliding with a small alien. It was a small blue female Twi’lek. Starfire had only ever seen two Twi’lek before and was wondering what a curious creature was doing out in the snow. Clearly not acknowledging the fact that Starfire knocked the little girl over, she continued to stare without moving to assist. ((1))
  2. It was meant to be Helena thinking that Hawke is beautiful, so I will fix that. As to the other adjustments, I will make them shortly. ((Oops... I mean to say this as Big Will. Silly me.))
  3. The rejection was a hard pill to swallow for the Tamaranean as the cold of the evening air began to brush itself around her weighted equipment. She figured it might have been a little more likely than acceptance, with the irritated and rather suspicious woman pushing herself about like a flaming florgnash, but the blow was still difficult to digest. Star looked over at Sandy as she was dragged along behind her master and tossed her a small bag, taking care not to seem too hasty or reckless. It was an heirloom of her people and not something given away willy nilly, but Starfire felt that the girl would need it; or at least, that she would derive more use from it than Starfire would. It was a small amber crystal mined from Starfire's home planet that held the same energy absorption capability that the Tamaraneans did. It would supply warmth, light, and even a small amount of additional power to those that knew how to use it. If it was used too much however, it would drain of color and become a motionless glass. The crystal was fastened in a small leather pouch that Starfire held at her side and she hoped that the older woman didn't catch it before it got to Sandy. Then, Starfire pulled her hood up and started walking in the opposite direction to rejoin her friends.
  4. The slow evening winds began to beckon the night as Starfire stood silently before the larger woman. She listened intently to what she had to say, but was slightly conflicted with the words she was given. Starfire looked at the older woman after she turned away, expectant, nervous and a little unsatisfied with the answers she was given. She wasn't really going be inconsiderate and ask to pry further into her mind, but she didn't want to sit around and pour through books when actionable experience was far more practical. The Tamaranean paused for a moment moving her hands around slightly as her weighted gauntlets started register and her strength started to wain. She accepted the small girl's thanks and then, ignoring her gauntlets, she turned back toward the woman. Hesitant laced her thoughts. Hesitation to begin among them, but she figured if she didn't try, there was no hope for it anyhow. "I-uh... Wonder if you wouldn't mind me tagging along with you for a little, if its not too much trouble. I can hold my own weight and I'll do my best not to interfere with your lessons. I might even be able to keep Sandy company if you need to go places." Starfire's eyes lit slightly as they widened. Her voice carried undertones of conviction, but soft enough in her wide open eyes that she hoped the reflection wouldn't register negatively.
  5. A voice emerged from within the silent staccato breaths of the young girl's sobbing, but it wasn't Sandy's voice. Starfire took a moment to register the difference in timbers, but the suddenness of the question caught her off guard. Her head shuffled a little and the Tamaranean shifted slightly, but she did her best to cause no harm to the little girl as she slowly rose and greeted the older woman at her full height. Starfire's eyes didn't quite meet the older woman's so she had to look down, but Starfire smiled and greeted her warmly anyway, flashing a bright array of gleaming white teeth. She nodded silently and looked from the small girl sobbing on the ground to the older woman and brushed a lock of her crimson hair behind her ear. "At first," Starfire said, indicating a small nearby bench with one of the fingers of her right hand, "I was observing an unfamiliar custom. I mean, I have seen battle before, but the illuminated sword is... New?" Starfire hesitated a little, but continued making eye contact with the woman as she continued. "Then I noticed the small girl here, I believe her name is Sandy? I think that's what I heard. Anyway, I saw her put in a situation where she ended up in over her head. Then, when she fell down and needed assistance I felt like I should help. The other man seemed focused on other things and you were talking with the man over there, so I felt someone needed to help the girl." Starfire took a moment to check on Sandy again to see if she was alright, then turned back to the older woman. "I am sorry if I interrupted something, I am unfamiliar with the way things are done on this planet and although my people would have handled the situation differently, I have been influenced to, and had the privilege to see other patterns of behavior. So I have explored patterns of kindness and caring and find that I have a great capacity for such things. Still, I if my intrusion is unwelcome I may stand aside. I am kind of curious though... What is the light side? And what is it a light side of?" Starfire's anxiety and curiosity got the better of her and her last few words began to spill out faster than they should have, but they were still coherent even in their rush.
  6. Starfire slowly cocked her head to the side in bewilderment as the the small child accepted her hand and got to her feet. It wasn't the act itself that puzzled Star, so much as the expression on the girl's face. After all, it was a simple action that Starfire thought it wouldn't require much effort, but the girl seemed to be having a rough time with the act itself. Star's clear green eyes were greeted with a sobbing pair of puffy red and Starfire was immediately a great deal more confused than she had been before; confused, but somehow concerned. Why was Sandy sad? Was it because of the larger woman? Was it because she got hurt? Starfire hesitated a moment when the smaller child broke from her grip to join the dog only a few paces away, but something in the child's sagging shoulders beckoned the Tamaranean closer. She was still fairly new to this galaxy and its customs, so she didn't quite know what was appropriate and what wasn't, but a subconscious impulse led Starfire's feet over to where Sandy sobbed and guided her arm around Sandy's shoulders. Her hand and arm wrapped gently around Sandy's back and shoulders. She could feel each heave of the girl's body as she sobbed profusely and Star was pushed scarce to tears herself, reminiscing of her own recent history. She had some experience in emotional training through the battle hardened culture of her planet and was able to fight the urge of discordance off of her own shoulders with mild difficulty, but there were more important things to focus on. She was putting mental energy on something that didn't require it and decided instead to focus on the little girl. She found comfort in the act of helping the smaller girl vent her emotions and sought to focus as much as she could on trying to transfer a small amount of her energy to the girl, in the hopes that it would make her feel better. In all reality, it probably wouldn't work, because the reservoir of radiation energy that Starfire held within her own body was designed for her own species, but she hoped that some small bit of warmth would find its way to Sandy. It sounded like she needed it. "Please don't be alarmed," whispered Starfire with a comfortable presence and manner, her golden face lingering just above Sandy's left ear, "my name is Starfire. I have merely come to seek your health. Are you alright?" Starfire smiled slightly and held the other side of the girl's shoulder softly. Sandy could break away if the gesture was uncomfortable or inappropriate, but Starfire wanted to do what she could to help.
  7. Starfire's senses peaked slightly as more radiation poured through the exposed skin of her neckline, granting her enough distance to audibly hear the conversation, but even while she could hear the conversation and slowly began to understand what the whole exercise was, it didn't mean she understood everything that was said. She knew basic just fine and figured there weren't any codes used even though the Tamaranean didn't know any, but... Light Side? What is the light side? Does that mean there is a dark side? If so... Of what? Starfire's curiosity rose sharply in her mind, sending an uncomfortable chill through her spine that she wanted to sate, but she stove off the interest even more and had to force herself to remain gazing at the bushes in front of her. It wasn't that the small brown animal in the bushes didn't derive enough attention in and of itself as it chattered about and collected small brown objects, but Starfire's curiosity was often unrelenting in its charge to rush away from control in an unbounded attempt at seizing even the most basic of intentions; even if her strains of interest were sometimes pointless. When she heard that they would all be leaving though, she sighed deeply. She had hoped to find some reason to join them, to see exactly what it was that they were doing, but she didn't know how or what path to take. She didn't even know if there was a path to take, but that she would like to take it if there was. Still, while larger woman was preoccupied, Starfire could still check on the girl... Sandy? Was it? She spotted the little girl on the ground, her blond hair splayed about the grass and unfastened a clasp of her cloak, allowing more of the girl beneath it to sneak through. After the cold air of the dimming afternoon light rushed in to meet the rest of her body, she slowly walked over to the little girl on the ground and offered a friendly and stable hand to the little girl's prone form. "You need help?" She asked, without even the slightest hint of darkness in her bright gold complexion.
  8. The situation seemed to turn sour in an instant and Starfire felt like leaping from the bench to help the poor girl, but it was not her place and she didn't understand the customs of these people. Perhaps such rash action would be offensive? But the poor girl was in danger... Starfire did her best to shrug off her valiant impulse and instead began to slowly make her way a little bit closer. She slid her right leg out from underneath her left, ignoring the rough edge of the stone bench and quietly made her way over to a series of bushes nearby. She didn't crouch in them, but instead admired the bushes for what they were. It would seem her entire center of focus was on these bushes, her green gaze capture in their leaves, and a small brown animal that resided just below, but she stuck the peripheral of her gaze to the now quartet of humanoids from a distance. If something dangerous was indeed going on, she would have none of it. After all she didn't carry a vibro axe underneath her cloak just for show.
  9. Starfire's eyes widened with anxious anticipation when it appeared that the small blonde girl from earlier was being paired with a much larger gentleman. They were engaged in a particularly intense session with flying mechanical drones. It looked dangerous, but Starfire's green eyes weren't held open upon horrific impulse, but instead a curious wonderment at the nuance training style. The Tamaranean scooted herself to the edge of her bench and stared over in their direction intently, removing her hood to let the afternoon sun play over her auburn hair and golden skin. It was a pleasant feeling, the rush of sunlight as it soaked into her and the sensation of rejuvenation and strength it gave. It was simple, familiar; and it left the Tamaranean feeling comfortable and content, even when her entire body was bubbling with excitement. Ooooh... I wonder what will happen next.
  10. Starfire tripped up a little as she trailed after her friends, brushing her knee upon the cold durasteel walkway. It was a bare scratch that didn't pierce through her legging, but it was enough to pause her stride and enough for her 'friends' to march on ahead of her. Friends... I still don't really know what that means. It had been hours since Starfire walked away from the Hospital wreckage and even a small shuttle ride couldn't take her thoughts away from the gore, the confusion and the panic. Her emerald eyes soaked in the disparity of the spectacle and her heart just... Ached. Starfire brushed the gold of her skin, pushed a few stranded locks of auburn from her bright green eyes, and finally resigned to fatigue and stopped outside a... P-p-p... It's a p word. I remember Cyborg telling me. It is a p word... Glorf! It's going to bug me now. Anyway, Star was rallying her nerves on the outside of a... Recreational place with greenery and community activities, when she spotted something curious. She saw a pair of individuals doing something with small mechanical devices and a small girl playing with a scruffy, but moderately intimidating looking animal. They seemed to be content in their own business and Star had better things to do, but her curiosity got the better of her natural impulses and the Tamaranean began walking from her hesitant place outside one of the 'area's' main thoroughfares and into the large setting of green. She wanted to see what was going on. It was an admirable afterthought to the destruction she saw earlier. In fact, even in the afternoon light, each green tree and flower glowed brightly. Admiring a nearby bench and favoring the supposed comfort it would provide with restless limbs, Starfire made her way in that direction.
  11. Star relinquished the cover of her purple cloak and gaped. There was viscera, rubble and destruction as far as the eye could see. Her mouth dropped a few centimeters in horrified astonishment, but closed, reminiscent of her years trained in combat. She was still a young girl at the time, and even though, on Tamaran, such training at a young age was awkward, she was trained regardless and saw the brutality of her own share of conflict. She didn't know who caused it, but she didn't know what was going on either. It was all one big blur that pulled through her head in a piercing array of horrifically confusing images. She could hear, feel and see so many lives puffing out their last hollow breaths and even if Starfire wanted to help, the cause already seemed lost. So, not wanting to disturb the robed individual as he rushed into a pile of rubble and cadavers, Starfire wove her way through the city pf coronet and lost herself within the vague traceries of presence given in a large crowd of fleeing civilians. _______________________________________________ A green dog rushed past Sandy followed by what looked to be a large hulking droid and a small man dressed in reds, blacks and yellows. They didn't say anything on their way, but they seemed like they were heading somewhere in particular.
  12. Starfire saw a small commotion developing around the hospital as a robed man began to hastily make his way out. The Tamaranean paused for a few moments, wondering if he caught her eye, but his determination led him elsewhere. "Exus-bu-si-plea-aw.." Starfire mumbled, trying to follow the man with as much restraint as she could, holding her impatience at bay. His eyes never found her though. He focused on the shuttle that had already taken off and Starfire, after trailing him for a decent distance, figured there was no use in really trying to get his attention. She didn't know what it was with other humanoid lifeforms and their habitual dismissal of her presence and speech. She didn't really like it, but there was nothing she could do to help it. She was about to wander away from the site, figuring she had figured out all she would figure out through her own investigation when a large disturbance provoked a horrified response. Starfire's already wide eyes continued to widen as a huge wave of sound pummeled the base of the hospital. Through the touch of sunny radiation upon her skin, her senses were sensitive enough to pick it up, but even through a sensual acclimation to a sort of physical precognition, she was almost late when she fell to the ground and shielded herself with a nearby piece of shrapnel. For good measure, she drew her velvet purple cloak above herself just as the flames of the explosive inferno rained down from the hospital's main entrance.
  13. Starfire, relinquished the velvety hood from around her head and gaped at the destruction. Her wide green eyes took in the smoke ridden, debris claimed and scorched territory before her. From what it looked like, standing as far as she was from the center of the carnage, it had to be a huge explosion. Glass poured like bleary raindrops in waterfalls of elegant reflective beauty cascading to the ground, forming in none too friendly mounds of gleaming shrapnel and metallic debris, that carved their passage through each wall, clung to their homes in walls and other objects as if their inanimate lives cried out for survival. The sight of it all was breathtaking... and terrifying. Gollifinar! What happened? Kory stood for a moment, smelling the air around her, feeling the radiant light of the sun beat down on her bare neck, and did her best to gather what evidence she could. She hoped it might evince some confidence in her with her discovery, but the absence of certain assurance, chilled her golden skin to the bone. She had been around explosions before and the heat in the area, the damage, the aftermath and everything else told her it was very likely, but as to what exactly had exploded, was another story entirely. She walked slowly toward the mass of debris around the epicenter of the explosion and glanced over toward two individuals as they left the hospital. She could see one of them was a great deal larger than the other and covered in slime, but Starfire hadn't the vaguest what it was. It looked like a Slorgnash, or what this planet called... A 'slug?' She debated running hastily up towards them to ask, because she didn't want to impost upon them much and it seemed they were more interested in other things anyway. Starfire turned away from them as they seemed to ignore her, and she went about her business, still trying to figure out exactly what had happened here.
  14. Her friends had left Starfire to her own devices while they were dealing with another problem nearby. That was simple enough, considering the activity going on around the city, but even while she didn't mind too terribly much, images of the small human life-form with the avian name sent chills down her spine. She had a strange and inexplicable allure to him even though, as Tamaranean standards were, she wondered why she considered him at all. It was a strange thing on a planet she didn't even know, but she figured she would learn more as time went on. She was just about to walk around the block to what had become an extremely familiar eatery for her. The merchant of the 'dogs' seemed particularly displeased with her when she drained a few containers of what she considered harmless, but amazing yellow paste. It apparently meant the world to his business though and he would express that particular reaction anytime she walked through the door. However, a huge boom shattered the glass on the building near her and she was wrenched to the ground violently. She could feel her weapons clanging beside her and the damage that the walkway and broken glass had carved into her skin, but she was still in one piece. "Oh my Glofnard!" she said through a throat depressed against the durasteel walway. Her auburn hair was tangled under her hood and she had trouble trying to straighten it on her way back to her feet, but curiosity never left. She looked around for a few hesitated moments and began to sprint toward the disturbance. It appears to be coming from the... The Hospital? I think that is what it is called.
  15. Starfire's majestic journey through the city of Coronet was filled with wonder and amusement. Corinth was but a sparkle on the jewel of her experience as fascinations abound before her. Her last stop was what appeared to be an average looking road side establishment where she tried the dogs of hot or the hot of dogs? She couldn't remember. The food seemed odd tasting and the meat was a little random, but the yellow substance that the stall purveyor put on it made it all worth the while. Starfire almost managed to make it away from the stall with a container of the alluring yellow substance before being caught by the manager and asked to give it back. Regretfully she obeyed and from then on she walked the streets of Coronet enjoying the beautiful lights as night finally set in and the skyscrapers lit up the evening. Her gait was fairly open and practiced and although the sun wasn't up in the air and her energy was a little off, she was happier than ever. Just when the night couldn't get any better though, a group of shady thugs that had been following her for a few blocks pushed her into an alley and up against the side of a wall. A rather large one with rippling muscles put a hand over Starfire's mouth to prevent a nearby CorSec agent from noticing, but couldn't keep it there for long before Starfire bit it and managed to wiggle out of their grasp. A few of the scrawnier thugs tried to subdue her and keep her from running, but even with decreased strength Starfire was smaller and faster than them. She managed to push through their assembly and out of the alley towards the end of the street, which was... A dead end? Oh schnoogleborf! Starfire cursed in her head as the thugs caught up with her again and this time managed to subdue her effectively, keeping her hands, mouth and legs occupied. With no respite in sight and her hope for a somewhat relaxing night gone, Starfire yelled into her gag as loud as she could, trying to draw attention or something. The thugs paid little attention though and continued carrying the girl with them as they moved into shadier parts of the city. WHifff! A few small objects flew through the air and stuck into the bodies of a few of the thugs and found strong enough marks to sedate if not wound them pretty well. The big lug carrying Starfire was left though and he ran at a full sprint toward the end of the road, or tried. With the way his run was labored, it was no wonder that a large shadowy creature caught the man off guard and sent him catapulting into a nearby building. Starfire was a little dazed from her fall to realize what had just happened, but a boy of around 17 came over to her and began slowly removing her bonds. His hands were soft and not unwelcome on her skin as he tried to be as careful as he could and when Starfire's gaze shifted to his masked face she was transfixed. The man's face was a thing of beauty never seen on Tamaran and although his eyes were masked she could see through his weak expression of stoicism and into his heart. Starfire proverbially melted in the man's arms, but tried to keep herself composed at the same time. It was very difficult. "Um-m... Th-thank you for rescuing me? Now um are you who? or... Who are you? and wh-where do you come from? And..." Starfire just drifted off, looking into his eyes and almost missed the other figure; a boy who stood a little shorter than the man Starfire was ogling, and whose skin was a bright green with loose scales. The boy looked a little taken aback himself with the beauty of Starfire radiating back towards him, but his thoughts were a little less obvious. He tried to mask his true feelings through a well planned and fitting, though awkward change of subject. "Well... This, this is Beast Boy," Robin said with cheeks so red that you'd think his head was a big cherry, "and I'm, I'm Robin, nice to meet you..." Starfire took a moment to notice Robin's hand outstretched to her then finally gave it a shake like she'd been taught and told them both her name was Starfire. It was a fairly small silence between them before either of them spoke, but it was interesting to see them together nonetheless. A few people on the street pointed at the silly looking green boy and ogled Starfire, but ultimately the three enjoyed a rather interesting and meditated silence. "Well..." Robin said, finally breaking the silence, scratching his head with nervous fingers,"BB and I are out tonight and every night patrolling the city, catching criminals that the corrupt CorSec don't seem to find. I'm beginning to think the Corellian security force doesn't even care, but its not my place to judge." BB nodded his head silently and although he had a rather quirky joke involving a judge and a sandwich on his mind, he let it slide to avoid making the situation more awkward. "Ummm..." Robin continued. "Would you like to join us on our patrol?" Starfire was once again caught in a moment of perpetual staring at Robin's face, but managed to break away when she recognized the proposal. "Oh I would like that very very much I would, yes." Starfire blurted out so quickly that Robin's head took a moment to process it. "Oh-ok, Starfire?" Robin led, taking a few steps out of the thoroughfare and onto the street, beckoning Starfire to follow, "come with us." Starfire's eyes lit up and she gladly followed the Robin for the rest of the night no matter how dangerous or threatening it was.
  16. Dang my sister for all her crazy antics, what happened to her? Starfire pleaded internally as a silver tear drew across her emerald eyes and down her golden cheek. Now I am stuck in a place far from home and I don't know how or if I should even go back... Starfire walked slowly in no particular direction down the streets of Corellia on the edge of a particularly brisk morning. Each of her boots made a sound clunk noise on the boardwalk, but so far, that particular piece of structure was all that had drawn the Tamaranean's attention. Her eyes were and had been for the past hour glued to the floor, because she was afraid to look up. The persistence of the evil cold air biting at the exposed areas of her body didn't make it any better though and because of its shenanigans, Starfire drew her cloak further around her body and pushed further down the path with her eyes still lingering on the boardwalk. The sun hadn't fully risen yet, giving the alien a sense of mild weakness and foreboding under the weight of so much metal, but the annoyance washed away with the re-realization of her particularly unsettling predicament. She was amazed by the whole ordeal, because it didn't seem real. In fact it felt like it was stripped from a story book series or something and inserted into her life, but she could see the scene play out again and again in her head; the shocking scene of canon in literature where the corruption of power takes root even over the bonds of sisterhood and companionship. The people might welcome me back with open arms, but I don't belong there anymore; I don't belong in that life anymore. Starfire paused for a moment, remembering her friends and her father, but saw them fading away. It was traumatizing for her to let go. She'd normally been so care free and had the best times, but now... It was all gone... Starfire sobbed a little, out in the open, drawing a few stares from random citizens who were walking by, but in the end tried to think positive. After all, being sad just made her a Slorak Emorguk, or one who sits and mopes. I should look on the bright side. She I should take advantage of this exile and explore my new home! Starfire pushed a smile over her golden face to mask the disappointment and pain she felt and just by the virtue of smiling felt 10 times better. Then, faces of new recognition and curious amazement filled her eyes as she raised her head and new aliens all over her field of vision filled her mind with crazy boundless forms of even more potent excitement. When Starfire opened her eyes to the rising of the sun and her new surroundings, her eyes welled into gigantic melons of green wonder. They couldn't believe the amount of information to process and all of the things to do. Where should I start, what should I do? What am I doing standing in one place and in this scary black cloak? Starfire removed the cloak quickly as the sun continued to rise and a new vibrancy filled Starfire's body, causing her happiness to escalate. Time to make new friends! From that point on in a flurry of motion the Tamaranean ran about asking question after question after question, creating quite the scene and annoying a large number of people. Especially since she had a pack strapped to her back with an axe sticking out. Here she was claiming to be friendly, but with the weapon in clear view it looked a little demented. She engaged in a long series random and often lethal interactions that led to quite an eventful day. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ One particular incursion with a Bothan by-standard went a little something like this: Starfire was walking down a non too particular street in the noonday Corellian sun and came across a particularly intriguing character. It was a fairly short Bothan with gray hair and it didn't look like he knew where he was going. "Hello! Sir or... Ma'am? What are you? And how do you live with all that fur? Who helps you clean yourself? Do you ever get little bugs that live in your hair? My Bunglegorf had all sorts of things in his hair one day and..." Starfire said in a rapid and loud strain of Tamaranean to a particularly shocked Bothan that fell down at the sight of her verbal nuke. With such a vibrantly pronounced greeting, it was hard not to imagine him fumbling about a little. When he got up though he was particularly angry not at the fall itself, but irritated at her continually streamed laundry list of questions that he couldn't understand. The Bothan yelled at her in his native tongue and Starfire stopped her questioning almost immediately with a stricken look of perplexed interest. It appeared she had given up her tirade of interrogation and it was a relief to the Bothan not to hear an endless supply of words, especially words he couldn't understand, but the Bothan was barely able to walk away from it all before the Tamaranean spun him around and kissed him full on the lips. The Bothan's eyes bugged out a little and for some reason he felt a tingling sensation at the base of his mouth. Then, when Starfire released her grip, the Bothan was dumbstruck, looking at the weird alien with a crude sense of ignorant disbelief... "Why did you do that?" The Bothan asked in small words even though he was pretty sure the alien would've been able to read what he said more from his face than his words. "I did it so you could understand me and I could understand you!" Starfire let a viciously joyful smile fill her bright golden face, which managed to burn a hole in the Bothan's irritation and anger. He was almost so entranced by her expression in and of itself that he almost didn't catch the language recognition. "You mean you can understand people by kissing them?" replied the Bothan incredulously. Starfire took a moment to look at the Bothan, scoping him out at a safe distance and happily replied. "Yeah, that's how I do it. The other people of my race can do it in other ways, I am... Well..." Starfire said with her hand brushing the back of her head, a small blush peeking through her golden skin. "Different. It has to at least be near the lips though, or it doesn't really work." The Bothan kept his look of incredulity and just stared at the alien in vague amusement. "I guess you must get a lot of weird looks then huh?" "Well... Kind of." Starfire admitted, recalling a few people throwing things at her and setting her hair ablaze with laser blasts as she tried to kiss them. "So are you new here?" The Bothan asked, his curiosity only relatively large toward what seemed to be an intriguing new race. What the heck, I can talk to her, it's not like I have anything else important to do today. In fact... The Bothan pulled out a long sheet of white paper with a few names on it and this time it was Starfire's turn to be incredulous. Yup, my script says I should be off for about an hour or so before I'm needed in some back alley. The Bothan thought to himself as the magical piece of paper vanished as quickly as it had appeared. Starfire shook her head for a moment and finally remembered the question she was asked. "Yes, I have been told I am the new... Is this new someone I should know?" The Bothan slapped his right palm to the base of his forehead and laughed a little. "Well I certainly haven't heard that before. Heh”¦ Well, the name is Corinth and I am a Bothan. This planet is Corellia and we are in the Inner Rim planets or the Core worlds I believe. If I know my interstellar locations right" Corinth stuck his hand out to Starfire who looked at it warily. "Haven't you ever seen a hand shake before?" Corinth interjected, his hand still floating in the middle of their conversation. "Hand shakes? You mean like this?" Starfire asked, as she took her right hand and began to shake it up and down. Corinth smiled openly this time and laughed even harder. "No no no... You are seriously going to give me a heart attack with this stuff." said the Bothan under threat of his gut bursting with bountiful laughter. "It's like this..." Letting the Bothan use her hand, Corinth placed Starfire's hand in his and gripped it softly. Then he began to shake it up and down to show her the movement and the typical pace of a friendly hand shake. "This is the typical greeting people give to each other on human planets and I've just sort of adapted to it." Corinth said, his smile not leaving even for an instant. He looked up to the girl who was apparently a few inches taller and noticed her smiling back with what looked to be tears in her eyes. "Thank you" she replied. Starfire's chest was welling with... Hunger? "Oh my goodness, ummm... My name is Starfire by the way, but I need to go... I need to, as you say... eat a horse? Right?" Starfire's stomach began growling like a large beast swatting at pests trying to ruin its hibernation. "It was nice to meet you Corinth!" The Bothan just continued to laugh a little under his breath and moved on, ignoring all the while, Starfire trying to openly stick something the size of a melon in her mouth. Needless to say... It didn't work, but that didn't stop her stomach from trying.
  17. Identity Real Name: Princess Koriand'r A.K.A: Starfire, Kory Anders Homeworld: Tamaran Species: Tamaranean* (Approved by Geki) Physical Description Age: 16 Height: 5'9" Weight: 152lbs Hair: Crimson Skin color: Gold Eyes: Green eyes with darker green irises. Sex: Female Equipment Clothing or Armor: - She wears a long purple hooded robe made of a thick-ish velvety fabric. - She wears two metal armbands that are pretty thick, but serve as weighted training braces and she wears them at great length while walking, to push her endurance and strength. She wears these on her upper arm while she has a pair of metal weighted gloves to accompany them. The only differences between the gloves and the bands though, are the length/contour of the gloves vs. the bands, and the green jewels that rest on the top of the glove's hands. - As added weight she wears a traditional wardrobe piece from her home planet. A medium sized metal collar with attached chest part sits atop her chest just above her bosom. This fancy piece, which features fanciful carvings from her home planet, also features a green jewel in the center. The metal is thinner than you'd think for weighing so much, but in the end it does weigh her down significantly (about 35 lbs). She has to take it off sometimes, but has gotten used to it since she was given the piece 6 years prior. - She wears a large enough, relatively tight purple tunic (the same purple as her robe). It stretches the length of her body, but stops around mid thigh, were it is split a little of the ways up so she is allowed free movement; it also has a metal band around the bottom on both sides, like an incomplete metal ring that circles around the entirety of her tunic and is interrupted by the breaks in design. (She does wear something underneath as a cover so no weirdo can be caught staring Wink) This cloth covering, well... You know, is almost like a set of black shorts that stretch a little past the tunic and accent the purple with a nice black color. - For her feet, Star wears long knee-high purple (the same purple) boots with heavy metal tips. There are also metal rings on the tops of both boots, but unlike the metal ring around the bottom of the tunic this one is designed to be a little bit heavier. - She wears a simple banded metal belt slightly above the center of her hips, to keep the tunic in a consistent position and help it stay consistent to her form. Clothing Materials: The materials of her metallic elements are comprised of fairly average metals from her home planet (essentially durasteel). Her Tunic is made up of a supple animal hide found on Tamaran dyed purple. It allows reasonable flexibility and breaths really well, so it is very comfortable to wear. Her boots are made up of a similar animal hide dyed purple, but this particular animal hide is harder and a bit sturdier. Her boots have a comfortable polymer integrated in their weave so the wearer's feet are snug and don't fall out. The way the polymer is configured however, it can come off with enough force in the right direction. Weapon: She carries a long slender vibro axe of fair sharpness, and a large DC-15a blaster rifle. (italicized text -> currently in Starfire's ship) Common Inventory: She carries a few family heirlooms as trinkets, a Datapad, provisions, the activation codes to her ship and a few credits, but nothing else. Faction Information Force Sensitive Alignment: Neutral Good Current Faction Affiliation: N/A Current Faction Rank: N/A History Known Skills: Adept with Axes and Halberds: The friendly alien race also taught the willing Starfire how to use relatively any weapon she asked for. There were a large number of weapons they never got to, couldn't use or were in storage while they practiced, but Starfire warmed up to the halberds and axes quite well. Proficient in Echani-esque combat: Star fire was trained at a fairly early age for combat and learned really well under the tutelage of a fellow alien race. She learned a flowing rhythm of combat that she'd never encountered before and has since longed for the feeling whenever she has gotten the chance. Ultraviolet Radiation Absorption (U.R.A) and deprivation weakness: Koriand'r's race is known for their absorption of ultraviolet radiation. They tend to be stronger when under the influences of the radiation and modestly weaker without it. There is a reservoir of power that builds up and can be doled out when she needs, but without steady contact to the energy, Starfire can't maintain her energy build up. This energy attribute helps her to use and maintain her: --> Strength ability :This is a racial ability that may or may not have been born of the force; there are a few fairly inconclusive pieces of research saying that it is, but nothing is carved in stone. the tamaraneans spend their reservoir of ultraviolet radiation in their potency of strength, but something about the ordeal just seems like a mark of the force upon their race. They use this strength enhancement within emotionally sparked spikes of no particular consequence; emotions that evoke the ultraviolet consumption. Anger tends to be the main catalyst for this strength enhancing reaction, but all emotions when raised to certain potency levels can generate this effect. The scale of strength increase is a noticeable change, but doesn't shift too much in either direction. (picture the difference between one combat ready 16 year old and a burly heavily muscled man (one burly heavily muscled man))(conversely the weakness she suffers doesn't disable her, but it decreases her strength enough to where she can't jump as high, lift as many heavy things, perform as many physically intensive acts... etc). Kiss and Tell: This ability is translated differently through each Tamaranean, but the basic gist of it is that each of them can contract another alien's language and blips of knowledge through physical contact. All Tamaraneans can contract the entirety of a language from their subject, but as they age their capacity for seeing the knowledge of another grows from faint whispers to flashbacks. Although they have no control over which thoughts or flashbacks they see, Tamaranean force masters have been said to be able to pick out thoughts in a more precise fashion, still failing at completely rendering the entire capacity of knowledge from the subject's brain. Starfire's only conduit for this is through kissing. Background: Tamaran, the home of Starfire and the other Tamaraneans is for the most part a peaceful place. There was a time in which the entirety of Tamaran society was ruled by a large group of different royal families spread out over several generations, but after years of social change and radical political movements Koriand'r's family was elevated to the top echelon. There were no particularly heavy reasons behind this movement aside from the fact that they were public favorites and they could defend themselves from both social and physical attacks by the populace. Starfire, or Koriand'r, was one of two bright female fraternal twin children ripe for future Tamaran rulers. Her and her sister were both fairly well matched and versed in all things Tamaranean by their 7th birthday or so, but, when it came time to see who would succeed and rule after the current figurehead, Koriand'r was chosen over her twin sister Cahriand'r, or Celsetialfire. Needless to say, this stirred a great amount of envy in Starfire's twin sister and the two began to grow apart. Cahriand'r began training in an isolated facility, seeing people outside the palace and undercutting the entirety of Tamaranean ruling power. When it came time to elect the new ruler at the behest of Starfire's father's death, Celestialfire broke in with a squad of nobody aliens to capture Starfire and claim the crown for herself. This created a great amount of controversy in the populace and although Celestial fire had indeed succeeded in separating the citizens from their destined happy ”“go-lucky leader to be, she failed to keep them at rest. The people fight with her to overthrow her rule to this day. Meanwhile, Starfire had been dragged away by a squadron of Transdoshan slavers into what looked to be a large ship with iron bars on the side. She was a slave bargaining chip for Celestialfire's throne and was, in the end, transported to the doshan's base of operations on the outskirts of Corellia. Later that day though, the day of her arrival, she was seen walking about the main street. There is little known about exactly when or particularly how she escaped, because no one was really left to say, but they found the bars of a cell bent, her things gone (clothing, weapons, activation codes, etc), and a handful of Doshans dead on the floor. All said and done, Starfire was left to claim her ship's nav sat and direct its autopilot to the Corellian surface to skirt space and avoid her psychotic sister at all costs. Titan Protocol -- Years ago, after her arrival on Corellia at the age of 14, she met a couple of interesting individuals that she built a relationship with. These individuals, along with Starfire helped to form the Titan protocol. It was a secret organization designed to assist the Empire and even though Starfire didn't particularly agree with the Empire's methods, she decided she would help her friends if they called. 18. Kale hung his head low as he rode the public transport back to Tatooine. He had come full circle. Was there even a point to come back here? His entire life had been here on this ball of desert waste and now, having seen the galaxy, something inside him didn't want to return to this homeless rock; a rock filled with so many miserable memories that Kale's stomach turned uncomfortably, causing him to clutch at his abdomen. The stiff cushion beneath him felt fairly uncomfortable under him as he sat still, feeling each turbulent thrust of the ship as it went upon his rather bony behind. His hands, which until know had nothing to occupy, rested below his chin pushing his elbows into his knees; his thoughts mocked the ebb and flow of the air about the transport as he buried his face into his ready hands trying to cover and control the chaos with a simple massage, hoping the remedy would work. The grease of his hair felt welcome upon his sweaty and callused hands, but something felt odd. He could feel someone's eyes groping at his form. Eyes mysteriously probed Kale as he sat there and only drew from him an odd sense of curiosity, as if the very stare laid upon him a crude freezing sensation that crawled along his spine. The sense grew and eventually lead him to lift his head from where it lay upon his palms and reveal that no one was there. Knowing he felt something though, Kale continued to look around until he stood right in front of a young woman, staring straight into her eyes. Something oddly familiar rang out within this girl's face so much soo that... .... .... Kale dropped to his knees, the caps thudding upon the metal ground as he came eye to eye with the small one standing not two feet from him. A painful sensation burned through Kale's fragile body as he stood in front of the small child, ripping him a new misery to console with. His knees buckled and his face went white with shock as he seemed to be kneeling in front of an apparition. A person he hadn't seen and though lost; she seemed so real though, even when the intentions of his consciousness begged of her falseness... You're not real... Kale kept telling himself until the small girl, what had been standing there for about 10 minutes, ran straight into him and hugged him. "I missed you brother", Kale's face seized up and flooded with warm, salty tears as her arms ran right across his chest. His heart surged with a warmth the likes of which the sun could only imagine and his body fell to a mass of tingling joy at the sight of the beautiful child. "I missed you too sister" He said softly into her ear as he rubbed his hands into her delicate hair, clasping her too in a great big hug. The patrons of the transport looked at the pair with odd questioning glances, but ultimately paid them no attention.

    Naboo

A Star Cruiser stops in orbit over the planet of Naboo as a rather medium ship is let out through a hangar on the side. The ship carries within it a prefabricated garrison of new soldiers to protect the newly claimed planet of Naboo as well as a recently enlisted lieutenant Kalphehn. The crew looks on as Kale directs their movements to the best of his ability and soon all of the available soldiers are sent to, and set up upon the planet's surface... __--_--__ Kalphehn was amazed and astonished at how green it was here. He had never before seen an environment so lush and vibrant. It truly touched him how lively it was here and for some reason gave him a little more grace in his steps. He was accustomed to the sands weighing down on his feet as he ran, but here he had freedom of movement and as such he enjoyed walking through the flatland quite a bit. Just as the garrison starts to settle however, Kale notices something out of the corner of his eye. It appears that a large gathering was being made over by a small patrol of rebel soldiers as if something had happened. Their appeared to be these odd fish people gathered amongst them, and while Kale had never seen them before he wasn't about to let his fellow officer's lose their lives if it meant less defense for Naboo... Someone had finally told him how to say it... Kale ran swiftly over toward the group and was very quick to spread the irate Gungans out. Kale was a rather oddity himself, standing at about average height, but a bit rugged looking with his duster and uniform. He stared the officers down as if his eyes were daggers... He winked at an officer and preceded to bash him soundly with words, "what were you doing officer to get these people so riled up?" The officer replied shaking, "well my friend here out of the four or so of us, had a bad time with a few Gungans in his past and as such was making fun of them. He didn't mean to out loud, but apparently he did and now we are in trouble." Kale chuckled a bit inside his head because if these beings were any credit to their nature, they seemed rather silly anyway. "Well I can see that now, but..." Kale said as he switched stances and moved to the officer in question, "What do you have to say to all these fine people I have assembled in a group behind me?" The officer grumbled and looked down towards the floor, his face contorted into a sort of disparaging stare and he mumbled, "I'm Sorry" Kale smirked slightly as he moved up toward the officer and grabbed him by the ear, "You're what officer? Speak up... I don't think the people you have insulted can hear you!" The officer lifted his head up after cringing under the yanking pressure from his ear, and yelled, "I am very sorry for what I said and I hope no foulness can come to the rebellion's record for my stupidity..." the officer concluded as Kale let go of his ear... "very good" Kale said as he smiled approvingly. He didn't really expect the insulting himself part, but the officer apparently understood the situation, and as such deserved respect for admitting his own stupidity. "You hear that everyone? He is sorry for any troubles he has caused you", Kale said loudly with his hands to his mouth. "He says it won't happen again. Also, I will gladly consort with any officer that chooses to insult the people of this planet again!" Kale concluded as the Gungans dispersed. They seemed to be people of pleasant attitudes and at least they were mildly forgiving. A few begrudgingly remained keeping an eye on the officer as he stood there, but Kale supervised the men as to delineate any of that activity. "Now" Kale said in hushed tones... "did you really insult those Fish people?" The officer who was drug close to Kale so as not to let their conversation known shook his head, "no Lieutenant I don't recall saying anything in that respect" The officer parroted back at the same volume... "Okay" Kale said, looking towards the Gungans as they moved away, "then I recommend you stay away from any of them to avoid the problem again." Kale didn't know whether to call bullshit or not, but something could've happened... Weirder things existed in the galaxy. The officers respected his wishes and stayed away from the Gungans to prevent more trouble. Kale sent the warning towards the rest of the garrison as they installed themselves, and he decided before going back to Gala he would stroll around Theed a bit. He too tried to avoid the Gungans, but not so far as to draw attention...

    Space

Despite the fact of being roughly the equivalent of a country bumpkin in space, nothing really significant happened within the transport as Kale rode his way to Coruscant. (Bowels of Coruscant)
  23. Kalphehn watched the patrons slide by as he waited on his drink, regrettably sniffing the air around him and taking in all of the noxious fumes. His face contorted due to the mass blight and carnage the smell was invoking upon the rest of his sinuses yet something managed to catch his eye. A rather formally dressed lady was eying him from across the room; he was quite flattered, but also quite disturbed. How long had she been staring? he asked himself. He looked all over his person, searching for any sign or hint of something out of place, but he could find nothing. She was just staring at him for no reason at all. However, when Kalphehn returned her gaze she slowly made her way over to where he was at the bar. Kale never broke eye contact and followed her movements all the way across the room to his stool; she stopped suddenly not half a meter away from his stool and told him that she had a mission for him should he choose to accept it, her voice never broke over the sound of a whisper. She told Kale that she had seen what he did with the Chiss patron and was very impressed; it was just the thing they were looking for and she needed him to leave for Coruscant right away... Kale's eyes darted around the room as he considered her proposal, but when all of his thinking was done with all he could say was, "I don't really think I am the man for the job; sorry miss." Kale attempted to turn around in his stool, but the lady persisted; she leaned in and showed him a large bag of credits; roughly the size of his head. She said in hushed tones, "we will make it worth your while" Kale's eyes grew wide and a smile spread across his face, "Sign me up" He said his eyes staring into hers. She wasn't really a creature of beauty as was the bartender, but she had a determination in her eyes that defied even Kale's own... Kale slowly made his way out of the Cantina and Tatooine as a whole taking care to leave his swoop behind even if it was more than likely going to be stolen by the time he got back. However, before he left the Cantina entirely, he took one last long look at the female bartender and sighed with a sorrowful smile on his face. I'm going to miss her, he thought to himself as he left the cantina for the spaceport and eventually, Coruscant.
  24. The conscious implication of receiving a male voice for his order due to the fact that he had seen a male behind the counter was slightly evaded with a smooth female mandalorian's voice. Quite the interesting trade off he thought in his mind, but he hadn't even looked at the bartender since he sat down... "Nehutyc, huh... I haven't been called that for a very long time miss, but thank you for the compliment," He responded casually with a deep accent. This wasn't the first Mando'a he had met on Tatooine, but the last time was with a DL-44 grazing his nose barely a few centimeters in his face so this predicament seemed a bit better. Finally, raising his gaze upward, he found himself at a loss for words. His pooling blue eyes found themselves lost within the depth and intrigue of her jade ovules, and for the life of him he just couldn't look away. He tried to divert his thoughts away from her; tried to avert his gaze, but it didn't work and he ended up staring right back at her again and again. He could only wonder how uncomfortable this might've made her so he forced himself to stare at the counter and make a drink order, but the words just wouldn't come out because she was still on his mind. he couldn't think straight enough to make any semblance of rational thought. He tried once, but as he looked right back up to make the order sub consciously, the words were robbed from his lips. He had really no preconceived notions of how "tough" he was, but this was unlike anything he had ever felt before; he couldn't help but crumble his mental defenses under the warmth of her smile and the beauty of her face. Just as he was about to make some headway though as he persisted through the warm torrent of her pleasurable stare, he felt a rather harsh blunt object as it met the side of his face swooshing his flesh around it leaving a vague imprint and throwing Kale as well as his cig across the room. Apparently the Chiss from before had figured out what Kale had done and wasn't very happy about it. Kalphehn knew drawing his weapons within the establishment wouldn't necessarily be kosher and although kale wasn't necessarily kosher himself he decided against it for obvious reasons. Instead he decided to have a little "fun". First, Kale got up from the cold stone floor and with the swift raise of his left arm he made contact with the Chiss's left elbow. Then, with the Chiss' elbow in Kale's left hand Kale gripped the Chiss' left forearm with his right hand and snapped the arm so it broke and Kale now had full control over it. This effectively disarmed the hallucinating Chiss while Kale, using his new found control, twisted the Chiss' arm around to his back and pushed him forward. The Chiss was in so much pain he didn't notice Kale slide the 5 credits back into the his back right pocket and instead looked upon Kale with even more fury as he tried to fight unconsciousness. Kale finished by setting the Chiss roughly right back into the chair he was in before and leaned into him with a casual stare, "Now what was that for?" Kale said with a wide smile... "y-you stole money from me..." The Chiss studdered rather miserably knowing that the two had drawn considerable attention and he wasn't necessarily in the condition to handle all of the attention at once. "Are you sure you didn't misplace it, friend?" Kale rebutted quickly not giving any hints as to where he had hidden the 5 credits. The Chiss nodded his head, "yes, I am sure didn't misplace them. I had them before you used my lighter and didn't after you used it." he concluded rather confidently a smirk stretching across his face between groans of pain. "I don't believe you have checked everywhere," Kale said as he backed off of the Chiss allowing him some room while at the same time showing the Chiss that he had no money on him. The Chiss looked flabbergasted and then went through his pockets once again getting up from the chair he had been forced into. flinching due to the pain of his arm, he found them in his back right pocket and then placed the palm of his hand against his face; he realized his stupid mistake. Kale, was laughing a little inside, but the Chiss left him alone after that. The Chiss wasn't much to say his sorry for the welt he had left Kale, but at least he didn't have to deal with that anymore and it's not like he would say sorry for breaking his arm. He was just about to sit and order when he caught her gaze again. His consciousness melted away leaving him lightheaded, but he remained on his feet. He inched his way back to the bar counter sitting down carefully, and once he reached there, he managed to studder his order loud enough for her to hear, but not loud enough to make him uncomfortable, "I would like a light alcoholic beverage please, preferably something from this planet"
  25. The aroma of sweat and grease met Kalphehn's nostrils with sickening speed as he edged through the sliding metal doors shuddering to think of it; so too did the common melody played by the Bith band that so often frequented this place that it wasn't funny. The smell was almost like a musk that tried to grope at all of Kalphehn's senses, but failed and receded back into the rest of the establishment. Kalphehn, keeping his eyes on the back of the bar, inched his way step by step through the small hallway to the bar counter as the notes of the all too common song began pounding in his ears. It was like some sick mantra that was so common to this place that people could think of it by just hearing the melody; heck, by just hearing one or two notes. His feet somewhat glided as he ignored the pack of people blocking his destination; he ignored their outstretched bodies unconsciously being used as barriers and he even ignored their groans of discomfort as he shoved his way through. He moved at a fairly even pace and as he did he carefully slid another cigarette from within its cold crude plastic case, lighting it ever so slightly with a lighter previously held by a Chiss neighbor's right hand. "Thank you sir," Kale said politely while pocketing 5 credits from the Chiss' side pocket with his right hand and handing the gleaming steel lighter back to him. The Chiss stared at him with a suspicious gaze of burning yellow that begged to analyze Kale's every move; to figure out what Kale had done, but eventually the Chiss returned to his own smoke coughing sporadically. Kale wasn't really fond with pick pocketing, but it was what he had to do to get by as of right now with no prospective jobs begging for his attention. He reached the bar counter slowly, taking care to see who was there; it didn't seem like too odd a folk lay themselves out to bare against the moderately adorned counters exposing themselves to what aggression came from their neighbors. A black furred burly wookie lay in the back right corner of the bar and two Jawas lurked to the left of the bar curled up, talking in hushed tones trying not to draw attention, but he could assume they were up to something. Today didn't seem that busy even though the crowds seemed to block out most of the city as they bustled in every which way; it seemed relatively quiet in here. Kale waited for the Bartender to actually finish the rounds of orders before he talked to him, because that way there was a strong chance he might be able to speak with the bartender in between drinks; he did have something to ask... (( it was under my impression that the planets along with everything on them were restored Clash))
