Delta nodded his blond head, the lines alongside his eyes creasing with his smile. “I have not known Sith to show restraint when the innocent lay beneath their boots. The Imperials know this well, and they will no doubt fight to the bitterest of ends. Then we will find honour in the welter of their blood. Godspeed.” He turned and with a crisp salute to both Tros and the Sith Lord. Strode off towards the waiting shuttles. There was much to do.

Delta watched the Sith Lord turn and walk away from the corner of his eye. It was odd to see this much infighting, even in the Sith order where disputes usually left one choking to death in a mess of blood. He had risen through the ranks of three organizations, and this was the worst he had seen. The republic had the simple rule of ‘you cannot advance in rank as you are a clone and thus not a person.’ Black Sun had the rule of ‘you do not have three million credits to bribe your way into the next position.’ And now the Sith seems to just be in a free for all. This dispute was completely avoidable, and Delta had no clue why the sith had decided to continue to defy his commanding officer in front of his subordinates. It should have been resolved by Jurisdictions and a firing squad, not a knife to the face. This had left both sides dissatisfied, but Delta did not particularly blame the mandalorian. He would have done worse with such an insult. Especially if he was Mandalore. He took the complement from Akheron with a bow then answered Mandalore’s question. “I Keep my connections to the old criminal world. Most have been scattered to the wind but I can reach out.”

Delta stayed at the periphery, until he heard the Sith master speak in his language. A language he had not earned. Delta was confused by it, he had not seen a Sith Lord that had come from the Mandalorian worlds in a very long time. His ice blue eyes stared at the Sith Lord for a moment before he offered Mandalore a crisp salute. He did not salute the Sith but merely gave him a slight nod. “Delta seven three at your service. Trained in espionage, assassination, and commando tactics. Wherever you need us, say the word.”

If the infighting in the Black Sun had been horrifying, this was something all too familiar. So when there was a lull, he spoke up. “Reputations be damned.” Delta inclined his head to the Lord Mavanger then to the struggle between master and apprentice that was happening before them all. “Stop playing out your power fantasies and kinks while at court.” He shrugged. His cape swirling around his shoulders like a waterfall of blood. “If you all lived up to your reputations that you hold so high we would not be worrying about a New Republic or a revenant Empire. If you all fought the Rebels with as much effort as you put into talking about yourselves, then we would have ended them once and for all over Onderon three kriffing years ago. Enough. We have a long partisan war ahead of us.Let us plan this great final battle and be done with it.” He looked to the Dark Lord.

He could taste the silence that filled the great chamber. Had a thousand foolish dreams in the hearts of young Sith Lords just died? Would the young Darth Mavanger be able to successfully assassinate the Imperial Remnant’s Empress? And the idea of some kind of weapon that could permanently kill a likely cloned and backed up force user made Delta shiver. When had they developed such a thing, and why? To open that type of pandora’s box was foolishness. And if it was something that could kill a soul with relative ease, it would not be five years before Rebel or New Republic assassins stalked the halls of Onderon killing as they went. He reversed his sword of rank and slid it into its sheath. He would allow any of the younger members of the Sith ranks to speak first, to give them the chance they wanted at power and prestige. Delta would go where the Dark Lord commanded. As always.

  8. Duel Ruling with Nok/Tarko advising A great duel between friends, I am glad that you both did this duel and both your characters were very well played. Khala, one note before the ruling for future use: Lightsaber throws are not your forte. And lightsaber throws that complete their arc and come back to your hand are slightly abusive as that removes some of the defensive plays your opponent can use. I would look to other attacks in the future. However this comes down to the last post. In a warrior sentinel fight it's all about negotiating range, and while this was effective for the majority of the duel and Juro was used well, the final post was in my opinion a major misstep on Kadi’s part. Letting yourself get impaled is one thing, it's a visceral amount of damage, but then moving that arm/shoulder while impaled would significantly open the wound channel if not sever your entire shoulder and arm. Not to mention you have already been wounded on the shoulder already. As such the last attacks made by Kadi are unrealistic with the scope of the major injury. A spear attack requiring a lot of body movement that would open wound channels even more. As cool visually as that would be of pulling yourself through a lightsaber blade to attack like a Uruk Hai, it does not work. Leaving Kadi essentially at the mercy of a strong Sith Warrior at their optimal range. As such a wounded Khala is the victor.

Delta’s cold blue eyes watched the masses as they declared their allegiance to the Dark Lord. They were members of the royal houses, the force users and abusers, who held rank for their natural talent. Another flaw of the Spider. He had let the Empire expand beyond its capabilities, letting anyone in with a pulse and the ability to choke an innocent life out with the force. These men and women had not been there since the beginning. They did not know what they were signing up for, they had not lived in the shadow of an enemy Republic. Even as incompetant as the Galactic Alliance had been, it had hunted the Sith to nearly extinction. These were children when compared to those Sith he had once fought alongside. Those Sith that had melted worlds and doomed entire systems to their whims. They were signing up for their destruction. A great culling that they embraced with open arms and open hearts. And many would die whimpering in Alliance prisons, murdered by their guards like the Sith Lords of old. Where was the White Wolf? The Golden Lord? The Dark Spider? They were gone from this galaxy, their souls wandering far beyond reach, while their descendants played in the ashes of their hard forged empire. An Empire trillions had died to achieve, and which none had reaped the benefits. Perhaps, death would be the final victory for the Sith Empire. A place long remembered in a history book. Where were these children during the long years under the yoke of the republic? Where were they when Ziost was destroyed, and the temple on Coruscant sacked and plundered? Only Sheog remained of that once great race of Sith Lords. And even he was beginning to stumble into madness, if not embody it heart and soul. Would this new generation be as dedicated to the forever war? Only time would tell, and despite his reservations, the Dark Lord was right. They had to preserve what they could, escape into the wilderness of wild space and live to fight another day. If they held on for longer then they would be fully routed, and the blood would fill the space between the stars. With a fluid motion he drew his ceremonial sword from its scabbard and reversed the grips, extending it to the Dark Lady. He knelt with the motion, his crimson cloak spreading about him like a fountain of blood. “Your army stands ready. Come what will.” But they would need to kill the momentum of the Imperial Remnant’s Empress, and leave the building of the galaxy to the bureaucrats of a New Republic.

Just like the last dark lord before him. For Furion had departed under equally mysterious circumstances and had left the Sith Order of the time in the lurch. A power vacuum that had not been easily filled, which had left a trail of bodies from Tatooine to Carida. The result of which had been the destruction of Coruscant and the overthrow of the Galactic Alliance. The death of trillions and the start of a new calendar. That power vacuum had spawned Faust, and what woe had befallen the Galaxy. If Delta had looked at his hands, he would have seen that blood on them. Dripping from the ceremonial white leather to run like a river in the halls of Theed. He was no blameless pawn, if it had not been for the old commando the Empire would never have made it to Onderon. Twelve trillion innocent people would still be living happy blissful lives and he would still be sitting in a Black Sun office on Bespin. The same Bespin he had helped sink a decade ago. He was a man defined by the blood he had helped spill, both directly and indirectly. It had started in a tent on Christophsis and now it had brought him here. Perhaps in the reflection it was better to not think about it at all. Lest the blood drown him. So he kissed her hand and stood at her right side. A prince of the blood. So crowned by her predecessor, he took his place again. Come what may he would face the tide of blood. Washing himself in it, until he became it, for in the blood he could not feel.

The smell brought him back. The crisp ozone of expended fuel and long lasting fires. The sharp scent of burnt bone and slagged permacrete. He stepped over a long line of blackened stone that had turned to a molten puddle under the heat of a turbolaser. It had supported a house once. The rubble and blackened dwarfish bodies told him that. Bodies always shrunk in the heat of these kinds of fires, grown men turned to carbonized skeletons that lay in crumpled twisted heaps. But that was how war had been for a thousand generations. And before beautiful cities were turned to rubble for some Sith lord to get his revenge for some small slight, they were destroyed over resources, or the love of a woman. He let the smell of death fill his nostrils, and reflected on this long war. Too long of a war, a war seemingly without end. How long had it been? Had it started with Furion? That great escalade with the Mad Hutt in the ruins of the Senate? Or did it go back to a fight that had never truly ended even with the mass pardons of a war lost and won? Another step, another body. Another thousand lonely corpses getting dumped into a mass grave. Then into the solace of an empty palace. The smells changed, the lighting changed, and doubting Ca’Aran became again the dutiful soldier. He smiled warmly and grabbed off his cap, offering a stiff and overly formal bow that did not mesh with the grin. “Well it certainly looks better than this once peaceful planet my Lady. The forge world is up and operating at peak proficiency, It only needs raw ores, and the computer system assures me it can build us an army worthy of any great Empire.” The grin became a warm smile. “How are you?” He wanted to say more, to kiss her and hold her close, to call her Ailbasí instead of the formalities of her newly acquired rank. To ask her if it had been worth it. But that would come later. Or so he hoped.

The fires were visible from space, a large blot of dark, glowing at the edges as the fire spread throughout the capital. A beautiful capital, its granite columns and flying buttresses now nothing more than a blackened and melting ruin. The forests of trees reduced to ashen timber piles, covering the graveyard of native animals. It was strange that such a scene could affect him, even a dozen years after committing a similar atrocity. But the sight of the fire brought a swift rush of emotion, even as the command shuttle dipped into the upper atmosphere of the planet. What was this waste? What was this wanton destruction? It was that dratted little conscience popping up again. He sneered out the window and looked away from the rampant fires. Concentrating instead on his uniform, the sheer black officer’s outfit was almost unfitting, the blue badge of the Darkwatch stood out beside the insignia of the Sith Empire. A spider. A spider who no longer existed. There would be hell to pay for that. And as strong as Nyrys. No Ailbasí. That was how he knew her, and despite her new title, rank and power. She was still just a lost college student whose’ father had placed under his protection. And what did Dagon think now? Now that his little girl had tread in his footsteps, and had burned an entire civilization to the ground? Delta shivered and pulled on his coat, whose crimson lining shone in the reflected light of the great fires. He did not relish that eventual meeting for there would be hell to pay. All of it Delta's. For he had long ago failed that mission. He gestured to one of the Subalterns that appeared at the end of the landing ramp. "Take me to the Dark Lord. Now." And his nostrils were filled with the acrid smoke of a dying nation.
  16. Ruling: (Main Mod Delta) (Mavenger Consulting) A very well done duel to the both of you. A lord taking on a Grandmaster is an extreme challenge and one that you should be commended on trying. It was a great duel from the Grandmaster as well, and I felt that both played their characters well, with Vorin taking on the visceral Sith Warrior Approach, while Draygo took on the role of the wily defensively built sentinel. Draygo: I feel that you may have bitten off too much, both taking on the role of the defender of the temple, playing NPCs, and this very intense duel. I do not know if you feel the same way, but I would recommend for the future delegating NPC defense to others in the Jedi order (Perhaps through the use of the shared Jedi Order Account) so that you can primarily concentrate on the duel at hand. I think you played the Sentinel very well, the escape in the second post was very effective at letting you pull distance and the use of the distractionary grenade was great at stalling his momentum. It was very nice to see someone utilize Tràkata again, and its place at the last post of the duel was perfect. It had good buildup. Blackmorne: I do not think you should try headshotting the Jedi Grandmaster again, especially as a Lord. This puts your opponent at a disadvantage no matter the outcome. And while I am sure Draygo is fine with either result, it still seems odd that she would have to fight a Lord, while there are (was) Sith Masters on the field. The way you played the warrior was in my opinion one of the best i have seen on the site. The relationship between warrior and blade, mixed with how you took damage was ideal. I must also applaud you in using classical techniques of swordplay without having to name them as such. Your description of your actions kept me in the story the whole time without the sometimes jarring Latin that we have seen in the past. Points Damage Taken: Both sides took realistic damage to their power levels. Class: Both played your class very well but there were a few mistakes and one that ventured into a rules violation: Draygo: at one point you landed “a third of a meter away” I do not know if this was a spelling/intention mistake but keeping a sentinel willfully within range of a warrior is a misstep. The use of the distractionary grenade was awesome, it took his momentum and would have allowed you an easier escape had you not decided to land within his grasp. Which is where we get into a potential minor rules violation with the new class system. Sentinels are allowed to use NFU tech, and it's one of their defining traits, however, it says to pick one. Not an entire minor armory of a blaster pistol, flashbang, and dud frag grenade. This is a minor thing and is part of the growing pains found when rolling out a new system but since it did affect the outcome I should mention it. Lastly we have a different error in the duel that I myself just recently made. Illusions. Or in this case hiding in the gale of a hurricane. This is an excellent move for a Sentinel to make. It breaks distance allowing them to engage at a distance that suits them. However, to disappear and not leave a trace of where you may be is abusive to the other writer. While one may hide behind an illusion or natural cover such as a hurricane no one should totally disappear from both the enemy character and the other writer. This was an incredibly close duel, decided by what feels the worst to rule on. Small technicalities and tactical errors. You both did well, but one did better in all aspects. Ruling In an upset victory, Blackmorne takes the win. However, this is a rare win, and Draygo’s last strikes should be respected. I do not see Blackmorne escaping unharmed

This was an incredibly close duel. It was incredibly cinematic on both sides. I must say the ‘lighting yourself on fire’ technique is rarely seen but very effective. It cast the whole duel in its firelight. Let's start off with the criticism mixed with the positives. Mythos, you had a good amount of what I would call specialized weapons in your fireteam. Though they were not used as often as some have used them, they were still very heavily used. Flechettes at least in modern fire teams for the Rebels/Empire are relatively rare. To see them plus a scattergun used is a bit more than one would expect for a non legendary ranked character. However you offset this by taking realistic and heavy losses. I would say you bordered on taking too much damage relative to what your opponent took. Zendrin, you did a great job embodying the art of the warrior, however I would have liked you to take a bit more effective damage. Mythos lost a lot in each of his posts, you took some shrapnel that didn't really affect your combat effectiveness at all. This to me is not respecting your opponents attacks. If you are struggling on how to address exceptional weaponry like what Mythos had, I would recommend using your full warrior kit. You could have used armour here. Not having armour is like leaving a whole part of your kit behind. Overall while it was very close, we must always have a winner: Mythos von Howlster
  18. On mark advance Delta’s squad of heavily armoured soldiers advanced along the long corridors towards the central computer core of the factory matrix. The Darkwatch Their visors glowed in pale blue, thermal displays being projected across the inbuilt HUDs of their helmets. They all carried the Sith issued E-22 blaster carbine. A perfect and very powerful rifle for the close quarters combat that would inevitably pop its head up at Mechis. Delta trailed his men, his customary armour replaced with a light armour that fit under his jacket. Another result of the Sith realignment that was taking place under the New Dark Lord. The corner of his mouth tugged up into a grin just thinking about her. Gone was his company's old name, now replaced by the name ‘Darkwatch’ which was likely a tribute to her biological father. In that he was happy. He had been trusted with this operation, and that trust made him happier than he had been for months.
  19. I will be honest with you here, while I am glad you both had fun, tossing out three or four heavy force powers every single turn which require a large amount of background research to understand is a bit tiring. This ruling will be a bit critical, but this does need to be said so that everyone can improve. I know that the intent was not to be abusive but it does affect the ruling so I will lay it out. Oni, I know that this is a redesigned character with eyes on the upcoming rule changes so I understand some disconnect between what the character is and what powers he can use. But I will point them out here: Renunciation of Mortality: Which allows your character to not feel pain and also not be distracted by it, it also has the trade off in the guide of your character not really caring for defensive moves. This directly contradicts your use of Force Deflect and multiple crates in the posts. Death Masque of Vothe: The power requires knowledge that your character does not have. How does your character know that Terra was at one point in love with him? Then how does he know that he is dead (Which is required by the power) (Voythe may have died in the distant past of the RP, but it is not a current or new thing, and not something that Terra knows about) Spear of Khlorithian: “A channeling spell that can only be used during a storm or or near a large power source.” There is no large power source defined in this duel. You are near a vault, but vaults require little power to maintain (not to mention it was mostly blown up by Manda) Force Deflect: Is a lightside power as it is a purely defensive power. This cannot be used by the Sith or Darksiders. It should also be noted that in your last post Oni you Used force deflect Used Telekinesis Used Perceive the Flow and Know Thy Enemy Used Death Touch on all NPCs Used Spear of Khlorithian This is far too much in one post. Each of these powers in itself requires immense concentration. Your character is a master so he is very powerful, but he is not powerful enough to use 6 force powers (Two of which are massive draws in the force and one of which your character cannot access due to his alignment) In the span of a dozen seconds. Even Palpatine would be envious of such a power. As for Terra: You played the foil to his power, instead of scaling up to massive attacks, you played the ground game, focusing on battle line tactics and simple yet effective attacks. Perhaps in the future I would like to see more use of the jetpacks your squad is likely equipped with to make your actions less linear. As such the ruling goes to Terra She has the next post. I look forward to an eventual matchup.
  20. Mechis, for being a state of the art droid manufactory, was ancient. Its assembly lines were never quite silent, even as entire continents worth of conveyor belts were being rerun and new programmes developed. The Sith had long run this world under past emperors, The Black Sun had even contracted here. THe crimson destroyer Mephistopheles had been built here, and like most of Delta’s past life, had been destroyed in a tragedy of fire and failure. But this mission he would not fail. This planet was key to the war effort. As more planets defected to the Rebel Alliance, they would need to builders of the war droids, and the advanced AVATAR protocols that were no doubt hidden on a super computer somewhere in this industrial world. The Hellkite seemed to erupt in trails of light as the dropships detached from its lower prow. The Sith had come. And they would make their claim last.
  21. First off let's get into the duel itself. Very well done to the both of you. Very clear actions and I enjoy that you both wrote full summaries of actions taken at the ends of your posts. This shows an encouraging attempt at not hiding actions, which is a great thing for the future of duels and this RP. Both character sheets were up to date with modern inventories as well. Though there may be rules changing in the future in regards to heavily armoured soldiers with hard points also having NPCs, these rules are not yet enforced so that did not affect the ruling in the slightest. This was a very close duel and came down to actions and damage taken. Both opponents took respectful damage, however in the end I felt the NPC took for too much damage to remain alive and actionable. A knife in the chest is most debilitating not to mention additional arrows. This is a Win for Kyrie. Kyrie gets the next post.
  22. “I question the desire to even touch Ryloth, it contains the most cowed race in the galaxy. Enslaved for the last few thousand years. If the Rebels have built a base of operations there then we would have known it. The planet remains isolated, if we need to mop it up in the after campaign then we will but in my opinion it would be best to leave it where it lies.” Delta gave a crisp salute. “But whatever we plan, my men and I stand ready.”
  23. Delta let his frown show his opinion on the loss of Mon Calamari, but the officers in the Onderon mess had theory crafted this kind of event quite a few times. And Assuming they had the full might of the Sith Empire’s fleet… But they had taken heavy losses over Fondor only a few weeks before, and now no doubt they had lost much at Mon Calamari. Which meant the Rebel Alliance had somehow amassed a large enough fleet to contest the Sith Fleet in a head to head conflict. Something the Pitiful Galactic Alliance had never achieved. He did not ask permission to speak freely, he assumed the Sith Lord would have given it and so he spoke his mind. “The Rebel Alliance as we know are based out of the Old Imperial Remnant Expansion Zone of Nar Shaddaa. But following the news from Fondor and now Mon Calamari I think we only have one chance. We fought the Galactic Alliance much the same way they are fighting us now. Their little Empress without a throne learned her lesson.” He frowned and pressed a button on his armour’s inbuilt datapad. A large and expansive map of the galaxy popped up, spun into several sectors and coloured with various regions of occupation. A long arrow pointed from Onderon to the gem like planet of Felucia. “We have been playing a game of smack the Jawa. Hitting them where they pop up, but this isn’t the Rebel Alliance from your Great Grandfather’s era. They are much stronger and I am sorry, but far more a threat. We have always operated off the high morale of taking the galaxy in a storm, our men have never encountered the brutal slog of an actual war. And these Rebels intend to give us just that. They refuse an outright encounter, instead relying on us to hunt them down, then striking when our backs are turned. Isolating fleet elements like at Fondor and Mon Calamari.” He frowned again. “These Rebels have many power bases, Somewhere in Hapes, Nar Shaddaa, Tapani, Bothawui, Corellia, I could keep going. We need to cut off each of these heads before they grow back like a hydra. So we must encircle them and strangle the life from them. Take out any potential allies they may have their eyes on. Isolate, then bring them to pitched battle. As far as those that align with the rebels, the Naboo are most likely to join in the short term. The Naboo are a peaceful people, but their desires mimic the feelings of the upper class of the galaxy. We need to contain them or force their loyalty. Though I wager if we strike now, we will find the Rebels already there and wooing their child queen.” A series of arrows cut towards Naboo then Bothawui. “Then we eliminate the Bothan Contingent. That Is my plan sir, but I should warn you, if we fail here and at Felucia, we should prepare for either a long war of attrition, or a very protracted defeat. Which would mean all of our heads on spikes around the Imperial Palace.”
  24. The Hellkite slipped out of hyperspace, its black painted hull barely reflecting the close packed stars of the expansion region. The old model Victory pulsed its engines, realigning its dagger shaped superstructure and dipping into the crisp upper atmosphere of the azure planet. All around the destroyer the atmosphere buffeted in harsh waves, heating up the hull and shields to a deep and dark crimson. When the victory had made its landing, Captain Delta73 walked down the ramp with his fellow soldiers. Within the hour he gave a crisp salute to Lord Mavanger, and submitted his report from Fallen.
