Now that their journey to his homeworld was underway, Kyle went looking for Dizzy. Finding her, he handed her a pad.

"It's a summary of our planet, Yehveshi Minor. If you get the time, you might want to read it. It's a lot but it will take us a while to get there so we have time. Either way, I'm going to get some rest. If you have any questions or comments or anything, let me know. Goodnight, Diz," Kyle finished, leaning over and kissing Dizzy on the cheek.

# LOCATION INFO:

Yehveshi Minor -

One of two Sister planets in the Yehveshi System, Yehveshi Minor is a temperate planet, with rolling hills, thick forests, grass plains, and low laying savannahs. For centuries it had lain mostly uninhabited.

However, the when Mandalorian wars began, Yehveshi Major was conquered. When the Yehveshi republic surrendered and agreed to pay tribute, even allowing the Mandalorians to set up a base of operations on the planet, many of the citizens became discontent.

One of them was "the legend," Valtros.* A young man from the Kail household, he was a skilled strategist and a charismatic leader. Done the title and declaring himself "Valtros," he called for the Yehveshians to join him in ending the Mandalorian oppression. Along with several other generals, including his step brother, Raine Gallo, cousins, Jarza Qwinn and Jace Deborma, and best close friend, Titis Rue, Valtros lead a massive rebellion against the mandalorian hordes.

Over the next several months, a bloody war of both body and mind consumed the planet. Both sides suffered large casualties, but in the end Valtros was victorious. Of course, it wasn't completely of his own merit. By this point in time, Revan's force wielding warmachine had begun to hack its way into Mandalorian held territories. This planet was not valuable enough to continue to waste forces attempting to hold it. Needing to concentrate their firepower elsewhere, the Mandalorians abandon the planet, threatening to return and make the people pay for their insolence. However, needless to say, they never did that chance.

As the war came to a close, the Yehveshi Republic was quick to take the glory for the liberation of Yehveshi Major. They had, after all, trained these generals and those that had fought in the war had done so under the Republic's banners. Valtros, on the other hand, disagreed. He said that it was the Republic's quick willingness to surrender and cower before the Mandalorians that had lead to so much bloodshed in the first place. He, in fact, strongly believed that the Yehveshi military could have rebutted the original Mandalorian attack force.

Tired of the Republic's corruption, cowardice, and inaction, Valtros decried for new government to rule the citizens of Yehveshi. Fearing Valtros's popularity and that he would attempt to overthrow the government, the Republic banished Valtros and all his followers to Yehveshi Minor. To their surprise, Valtros made no attempt to disobey their edict. Instead, he and all those loyal to his shipped out.

Being that Yehveshi Minor was sparely populated and mostly untouched, times were hard when Valtros's people first "placed their tents" on the foreign soil. Many of the people were used to city life, so farming and foraging was new to them. In addition, the growing seasons were slightly different as well as much of the plant and animal life. Fortunately, there were many similar and even some of the same species of planets and animals to be found on Yehveshi Minor. Regardless, though, after the first few rough years, the population had managed to grow from the initial colonist population of 195,000 to almost 500,000 in the first ten years.

The society of Yehveshi had always been household based. Woman were adopted into the family through marriage, the only exception for women that fell under 'Mal Rae Rah'.** Others could also be adopted into the family by the paternal family head. When the families of Valtros and his four generals were banished along with them, Valtros was determined to not let that undermind the family unity that was forged under the old system. Adapting things slightly to accomidate the new populus, Valtros formed five houses.

The Five Houses

The government is made up of five houses, the House of Kail, Gallo, Qwinn, Deborma, and Rue. While Valtros heads the house of Kail, he can elect another family representative to man his spot on the council. Usually a household head retains his position until death, although their have been rare case when they have been usurped.

When an issue comes up, the leaders of each house present it to their households. This gives them a chance to take council with their families and decide what is best for them and the people in general. It also makes sure that they don't make any hasty decisions, as time will past in between the Council's presentation and each houses final decision. However, in the end it is up to the leader of their house to decide what is best. For an edict, law, or other piece of legislation to pass, the houses needed a majority vote (3-out-of-5).

House of Kail - (original Pop. 34,000)

The oldest and most revered of the houses, Valtros originally was born into the house of Kail. Therefore, everyone to takes the mantle of "Valtros" must come from the Kail family line.*** As Valtros, the household leader rules over the population in a form of representative kingship. In many cases, Valtros is willing to sit back and let the houses decide government policy amongst themselves, using his position household pull to break voting deadlocks when needed. However, it is Valtros's duty to take the leader in foreign policy and he is the undisputed head of the Yehveshi military.

It is also important to not that while the house leaders work collectively to agree on important matters and government policies, Valtros does have to power to overrule their decision. However, to do so the Valtros is required to hold a hearing to justify why he made such a decision and why it is in the best interests of the people. The hearing also gives the opponents a chance to justify their stand on the issue. This right was rarely exercised by any Valtros, and when it was the verdict was almost always clear cut. For example, most of the few cases involving a Valtros overruling the council's policies involved corrupt family heads attempting to take advantage of other families or other individuals.

House of Gallo - (original Pop. 54,000)

Sharing the same mother, Raine Gallo was Valtros's half brother. After being banished, Gallo's family took up residence alongside the other clans, but also branched out elsewhere. Realizing the reach mineral deposits found mostly in the Northeastern hemisphere, the house of Gallo quickly began to set up mining outpost in the area. Even though, the house of Gallo shares it riches collectively, they are still the wealthiest of of all the houses (the house of Kail excluded).

House of Qwinn - (original Pop. 17,000)

One of the most controversial of the houses, the Qwinn house is and always has been lead by a woman. During the battle with the Mandalorians, Jarza had played a major role in liberation of the planet. After the original banishment edict went forth, Zuul Qwinn (##) challenged that his family should not be banished because the actions were Jarza's and hers alone. Assuring the government that he would disown her and anyone that followed her, the Republic agreed not to banish them. However, in a surprising move, Jarza asserted herself, claiming that she qualified for "Mal Rae Rah" and possessed to not only be the family head but to also carry the family name.

With her brother too lazy, cowardly, and weak to meet her challenge, Jarza had technically become the head of the Qwinn house. Unfortunately, the Republic ruled that Zuul did not need to prove his right to the family headship, as she was an exile and there in had no such priviledges under law.

That decision had huge consequences, however. Many people had already begun to question the governments decision to exile their war heroes, Kail's family and all those of his generals. Furthermore, when the Republic decide to withhold the natural born right of "Mal Rae Rah" from a Yehveshian, it not only split the family in two but also created a large falling out of the general populus. Many more became followers of Valtros's teachings and joined the exiles.

However, Jarza Qwinn, most importantly had assured her right to retain her families name after a massive split, as well as the right to lead the house of Qwinn as far as Valtros was concerned. Hence, out of respect for Jarza Qwinn, Valtros allowed her not only to have a seat on the council, but passed a law that required the house of Qwinn to have a woman on the council. -*- That way, he could insure that Jarza's legacy and importance would never be forgotten.

The House of Deborma -(original Pop. 26,000)

Revered for his wisedom as well as his medical prowess, Jace Deborma welcomed the chance to explore the wonders of Yehveshi Minor. Taking advantage of his position on the Council, Jace pushed for many government funded, research projects and expeditions into their new found home. Because of his efforts, Yehveshi Minor had been almost completely mapped, and most of the major plants and animal identified in just over 10 years.

Using the knowledge to his advantage, Deborma then set out to find a way to lengthen life. After years of testing, Deborma finally deemed a sample "perfect enough" to try on humans. Originally not planning on having children, Jace decided that he would use his first born son as the test subject. Introducing the formula into his DNA early on, the boy was born normal. Meanwhile, Deborma continued to monitor his growth and development. However, when Valtros's forces performed a counterstrike on Yehveshi Major, Deborma was lost in the attack and the formula was lost with him.

His contributions to sciences, research, and medicines weren't, however, along with his greatest gift, his son. His formula was indeed miraculous. Thanks to it, his son lived to the ripe age of 789. Likewise, each successive generation of Deborma leaders has lived well past the average lifespan of a Yehveshian, although each time the bloodline is a little more dilute each generation. Over the millenia, the sons of Deborma no longer live as long as they used to, but with the last household leader dying at 204 years old, the heads of the Deborma family are still consider the wisest and often taken into council by Valtros himself.

House of Rue - (original Pop. 64,000)

Rue's father was a influential politican in the Yehveshi Republic. However, realizing the possible implications of siding with Valtros on his views of the Republic, Rue and his father agreed that he must be disowned in order to protect the family and maintain his families honor. In doing so, however, Rue had no family. Later exiles and alone, Valtros felt saddened by the plite of his long time friend. That is why during the organization of the houses, Valtros founded on last house, the house of Rue.

Included in this house were all those exiled and alone without homes or family to support them. Therefore, the house of Rue came to consist of all those outside of the other four families, including off-worlders and aliens that decided to join Valtros's cause.

Originally, Rue was the sole head. However, a few years after his death, the new Valtros decided that the house of Rue should be split into five divisions of its own. This was done for two reasons. One, to better represent the mixed population that was encompassed by the Rue house. Two, because Valtros feared that in the future aliens or Yehveshians might join the house of Rue with ulterior motives and attempt to corrupt and take over the house. Because of those concerns, the house was had five elected leaders: one Yehveshian male, one Yehveshian female, one alien male, one alien female, one direct descendant of the Rue/Kail line, known simply as the Descendant.*#

When a matter was being presented to the rest of the Council, The Descendant would meet with the other members. He would bring the issue back to the house Council and relay the information to them. They would then have time to discuss it will their people and come back with a decision. They would then vote. Once again, it was a 60% majority vote and the Descendant was mainly there to break ties as needed. Here too, though, he had the power to overrule a decision if he could prove his case. That power was never used, though, unless the Rue house's vote might be the deciding vote in the Council and the Descendant strongly disagreed and could prove that it was bad for the people. Once again, however, the others could defend their position.

Valtrosian Historial Summary

While the legal governing system could be tedious and slow to act at times, Valtros had made sure that that would never be the case for the Yehveshi warmachine. Valtros, in matters of war and foreign policy, can make quick decisions without much interference from the Council. While the Council can protest any of his actions, Valtros has the final say. That is why heirs are required to take extensive courses in battle strategy, universal economy, foreign policy, and political science.

In 35 AB (After Banishment), Yehveshi Minor came under attack from Yehveshi Major as Valtros claimed soverienty of Yehveshi Minor and would not give up mining rights to the Yehveshi Republic. Seeing how lucrative the Gallos mines had become, how large and powerful Valtros's empire was becoming, the Republic felt threatened by the Valtrosian Empire. If nothing else, the Gallos mining issue gave them an excuse to attack.

Sending their warships, the troopers landed in the Gallos mining areas and declared martial law. Once they secured everything, they would move on the capital. Expecting heavy resistance, the soldiers were surprised to find none at all, just pamphilts, posters, and billboards reminding them of the Mandalorian occupation. Although most of these new brave men hadn't seen action in that war or been taught much about its true heros through the pages of Yehveshi Major history, they knew the stories. Word of mouth was a powerful thing and people would be crazy not to retell the amazing stories to their kids.

Valtros knew they knew who he was. He knew they understood what the Mandalorians had done. He refused to have his people take up arms against fellow Yehveshians. Instead, Valtros left hints. Without outrightly telling the invading armies, Valtros was reminding them that what they were doing now was much like what the Mandalorians have done nearly four decades earlier. Invasion, occupation, looting the resources of a planet they had no right to, disrupting the normal lives of a peaceful people. He had to reason with them. He had to let them know that the Republic was their true enemy all along.

In a matter of days, the Republic had full control of all the mining lands on Yehveshi Minor. They would now move on the capital, New Mari.* Inside the capital building, Valtros waited. When the troopers arrived, Valtros trotted down the cold marble steps to meet them. Within yelling distance, Valtros began. Greeting Commander Vahlay, who had served under him in the Mandalorian war and what now a general, Valtros welcomed him to Yehveshi Minor. The general, however, wasn't so friendly. Valtros was told he was under arrest. Valtros scoffed, pleading the general to change his mind and refrain from any further bloodshed, but Vahlay wouldn't be moved. Dissappointed, Valtros slowly accended the steps of the New Mari capital building and uttered his famous words, "Then from this day one, we are no longer Yehveshians. We are Valtrosians and we will fight for what is right. We will fight for what is ours. We will fight any and all oppression. Mandalorians do not. Mandalorians create it. You are the Mandalorians."

Uniting to fight one final war, Valtros and his general set out to end the Republic once and for all. As Valtros's message of Republic tyrany spread, more joined his cause. It was inevitably only a matter of time before the last Republic fortress fell and all remnants of the Yehveshian Republic were removed forever. However, the war didn't come without its price. Many good men and woman lost their lives. Valtros's cousin, Jace Deborma, was among those that died in the massive final battle for Yehveshi Major. The location is know as the plains of Deborma to this day.

After the victory, Valtros claimed the solar system in the name of the children of Valtros. But alas, the original Valtros has been long dead. Nevertheless, as time to continues to pass, even through all the wars and expansion, the basic values, teachings, and memory of Valtros live on in his sons and his people. Forever, the people will echo the words of Valtros, "We are Valtrosians!"

*Valtros was a mythical Yehveshians warrior. It is said that the Yehveshians were once ruled by powerful gods that could control the winds and electricity and other elements and rule the people with an iron fist. However, according to legend a mear mortal named, Valtros, scaled Mt. Mari, where the gods lived. Hiking for 20 days and 20 nights, Valtros finally found reached the peak of the heavens. It was there that he found the gods and used his intelligence and stealth to kill them all. As the myth goes, in killing the evil gods, Valtros himself received Godhood. Valtros then ascended the mountain in the flaming chariot of the gods. Declaring to the people that they were free, Valtros ruled over them as their king for many years. He would not accept his godhood, though. He refused to be worshipped as anything other than their savior. The people refused to listen. Then, one day Valtros boarded his chariot of flames and sailed off into the air. While no one knew what ever became of Valtros, legend had it that the immortal Valtros would someday return to save his people if they even came under the oppression of evil again.

** "Mal Rae Rah," was an ancient precedent that stated that if the male family head was found to be incompetent of his role, his sister, mother, or wife had the right to challenge him for leadership. If he lost the challenge, either because of default, surrender, refusal to fight, or defeat, he was stripped of his title and removed as family head. Also, as family head, the woman was given all powers there in and the ability to marry men into the family, rather than her becoming part of their family. Under Mal Rae Rah, families could also merge at marriage, hence the reason why some family have long last names or multiple last names.

*** There one was rare exception to this rule. In one case, Valtros saw none of his sons as fit to rule. When it came time to hand the dynasty to his successor, Valtros instead handed it to the 230 year old, Tyrith Deborma. It came as a shock to the sons, as they had expected to rule. It was a good lesson, however, because it showed future generations of Kail's that their position was not guaranteed. Although Ryn Deborma only skipped one generation of Kail's, turning over the kingdom to one of the former Valtros's grandchildren, the Kail's learned their lesson and were never took their studies or their position for granted again.

(##) Interestingly, and maybe not coincidentally, Zul is a curse word in Valtrosian.

-*- By law, the house of Qwinn is required to have a woman on the Council. However, they are also given the exception of have two people as part of the main council (one male and one female). Regardless, though, the house of Qwinn is only given a single vote in the council.

*# The entire house of Rue is given a chance to vote on who they want to represent their house. Upon election, the Kail is given dual house affiliation. The Descendant is then give a three year term. After three years, the house of Rue can choose to keep in or choose another. Rarely does it take more than two or three Descendants before the house decides to keep their current one. In fact, they often go with the first choice. However, there have been recorded cases where they went through a total of nine Descendants (27 years in total) before they decided on one. Once the house had decided on their Descendant, his usually will keep the position until his death. There are exception, though. Although, it is often rare, the Descendant has been chosen as the next Valtros before (which means they must relinquish their role as Descendant).

Dizzy took the datapad from Kail, smiling up at him as he kissed her cheek. She again had butterflies in her stomach as she watched him go out the door.

"Goodnight Kyle"

Soon after he disappeared from view, Dizzy retired to her own bunk, reading through the datapad until she got too tired to concentrate. She placed it on the table beside the bed, switching off the light and going to sleep, her hand touching her cheek where he had kissed her.

Dizzy thought about what she'd read so far, wondering where she would fit into all of that, not really understanding much about the politic's of his world. Again she tried to recall what her home planet was like, the only images coming to her were the same ones as always. The last images she ever saw of her mother, her father and her sister, all cut down in front of her, with the flames burning the building behind them.

Eventually she went to sleep, still finding it hard to believe that she was truely free.

Kail awoke early the next morning. He had actually sleep pretty pleasantly. Rising from his bed, he decided to cook some breakfast. He was in no way a master chef, but he had been able to hone his skills at making breakfast over the past several years.

Cooking a breakfast for two, Kyle knocked softly on the door. If Dizzy happened to be up by now, he decided he would serve her breakfast in bed and enjoy his breakfast with her.

The smell of the food woke her, Dizzy stretching as the fragrance wafted through the ship. Pushing herself up against the pillows, she was alittle startled at the tap on the door, quickly pulling the wrap around her shoulders and tying it at the front before calling out,

"Come in"

Dizzy smiled as Kyle came in, blushing as he gave her the tray and joined her as he sat on the bed. Her head went downwards as she concentrated on the tray of food in front of her, trying very hard not to blush so much.

"I'm ok. I read some of the datapad. I'll finish it off abit later. It's... very interesting."

She glanced up at him, shifting slightly so that he had abit more room, and so that she wouldn't tip the tray that was sitting on her lap. The food smelt so good, but first up she picked up the glass of juice, taking a sip.

"This looks really good. Thankyou"

Kail laughed a little, "It's ok to admit it's boring. I know history isn't many people's favorite. I just figure it will be a lot easier to read at your leisure than explain to you at length."

Taking a bite and then swallowing, Kyle grinned, "So how are you? You sleep well?"

Listening for her response, Kyle continued,"How's life without Reena? You getting along alright?"

A sad smile appeared on her face as he mentioned Reena.

"I miss her. But I know she's happy. That's the main thing. I know I'll see her again. It's just hard I guess... not knowing many people. Not that I did before, but ... you know what I mean?"

Dizzy started on her food, not being able to resist the tempting fragrances any longer. It seemed she was starving. As a slave she had been fed a staple diet, though it had never tasted really good. It was healthy and all, they had to keep their dancers in top shape, but it wasn't anything like what you would refer to as delicious. This being able to eat whenever she liked, and whatever she liked was another new thing that she was still becoming accustomed to.

"Everything is so different. How long did it take you to adjust? To freedom that is?"

Kyle nodded as he took another bite. As he listened to Dizzy finished, he chuckled.

"That's a good question. I think it different for everybody. Considering the jobs my...uh...boss had me do, I knew a lot about several things. Other things were completely knew. It differs, though, for people. Some are quick learners, some are slower. But I'm here to help, so don't worry. Plus, I'm sure my family will help, too. They help me a ton when I was rescued."

Kyle simpered teasingly, "Better watch out, though. Eating good food can get addictive for people like us. You might lose your figure. I almost did. Boy, is it harder to lose it than it is to gain it."

Dizzy started on her food, enjoying the flavours as she devoured them. Still she was ladylike with her eating, also enjoying the company she now shared. She smiled up at him as Kyle mentioned how addictive the good food could be. One of the things that Dizzy had been blessed with was a good metabolism, though she took his warning to heart.

"The Pirates mostly had me locked away. I'd not see the sky for so long I'd almost forgotten what it looked like."

It had been why, initially, she had felt like she had to hide, that she had to stick to the shadows. Dizzy had gotten herself a cloak with a hood on it while she had been shopping, having been uncomfortable with 'nothing' above her head when she had gone outside the complex again. It was strange to her because so many of her years she had been kept in the underworld.

"Reena and I were taken from club to club, escorted by guards both ways at all times. We were taken also to a solarium so it looked like we'd been in the sunlight and so we'd look more 'healthy' with the tanned look."

She finished her breakfast, drinking the last of her juice. She wondered what sort of clothing she should wear to meet his family. Was there any rules on that here? The only way was to ask.

"What should I wear to meet everyone? Do I have to keep covered or does anything go?"

There had been times when 'visitors' had come to the Pirates club and the girls had had to wear certain types of costumes. Sometimes it was as little as an elaborate bikini with material draped front and back of the bottom half, or it could be something like their whole body covered including a veil across their faces.

Kail listened to what she had to say about her prior life. It sounded pretty hard. Maybe not as harsh as his in some ways, but still cruel nonetheless.

"Well... at least you didn't have your eyes ruined. The eye surgery my master had done to me gave me night vision... it removed my ability to see in color. I swear I can see in hues at times... but I don't even know... it's been so long I sort of forgot what seeing in color really looks like... But yeah... that's why my eye orange and also why they glow orange in the dark. Crazy stuff."

Breaking from his distant memories, he was brought back to reality when Dizzy asked about the clothing.

"Hmmm... good question. I imagine first impressions are always good. I'm don't think it should matter that much what you wear, though. You probably don't want to wear something too revealing for introductions. I wouldn't want them to think you are a slut or something. Outside of that, I imagine it is pretty wide open. Whether you want to look like a business woman, the girl next door, hot bounty hunter, a dangerous assassin, a beautiful lady, just a regular woman, or whatever.... go for it. The only suggestion I think would be to save your dancer uniforms until after they know you are a professional dancer so they don't get the wrong impression. But then again, if you want to wear one go for it. I'm not worried what they think of you because my father is never quick to judge a person. He will be far more interested in your personality than how you look or dress."

Dizzy found her face heating up again with some of his comments with regards to her looks. Her eyes went to the tray still on her lap, though mentally reviewing the few outfits she did get. She would wear the black pants and top with her cloak and boots and see what happened from there. There was no way she wanted to bring out any of the dance costumes, even if she had gotten another at the shops. Maybe it was out of habit, but she had seen such a beautiful outfit that she'd had to get it.

"How long until we get there?"

Diz wondered if she'd have time to shower before getting dressed. She also was wondering about Ka-Rith.

"Do you think there's any way of finding out where Ka-Rith got to? I'm worried. It was like she just disappeared. You don't supposed they got away with her do you?"

Kail thought about it for a second, "I'd say we have about half and hour at most. We should be close."

Finishing the last bit of food, Kyle offered to take Dizzy's tray as well as he headed for the door.

"I'll go check on that and let you get dressed...and don't worry about it. I'm sure you'll look beautiful."

Peaking his head back in for one last thought, Kyle smiled, "After all, you always do."

Then he left. Moving across the ship, he stored the dishes and head for the cockpit. Inside, he checked their location. They were almost there. He would manually fly from here. Things could get rough and he know all the shortcuts anyways. By the time he was done, Dizzy would no doubt be out of the shower and ready to go. Next stop, Yehveshi Minor.

Why does he make me blush so easily? Diz thought to herself as he said she always looked beautiful. She'd heard flattering words before, but every other time had been by lustful pirates. She'd hated it, hating their stares and their snide remarks. With Kyle, she didn't mind it, finding it refreshing in other ways.

She climbed out of bed once he had left the room, gathering up the outfit she'd decided on and headed to the shower. She washed her hair, again enjoying the luxury of hot water. She could get very used to this. She was concerned though at what their reactions would be. She was an outsider in every sense of the word.

Her thoughts kept circling that same fact as she dressed carefully, making sure that the look she gave was not 'too much' though hopefully didn't look like she was trying to impress too much. Her eyes closed for a moment. What would she have done if she had been going to her own family? Maybe one day she'd find out where she was from. Then she might be able to go and visit the graves of her family. She had no idea if she had any other relatives or if the whole of the village had been destroyed.

Her eyes reopened as she reached for the brush, giving her hair attention now as she brushed out the knots from having washed and towel dried it. Once it became silky smooth, she placed the brush down, heading back to sit on her bed, picking up the datapad to finish reading the information that Kyle had provided.

I love it when she blushes.

There was just something about him making Dizzy blush that excited Kyle. Or maybe excited wasn't the right word. In fact, it was hard to put into words. Saying it was hot wasn't actually the terminology that would apply. Maybe sensual, but that seemed too deep or serious of a word. Sexy might have fit it best. Still, it was hard to explain. Kyle just knew that he loved making her blush. He probably loved it, too, because it was an obvious indicator that she was flattered by his comments and did indeed like him, too, even if she didn't say it out loud.

Kyle felt bad, though, for ignoring the comment about Ka. He didn't know why he did. He had a lot of his mind, but he did have a plan for finding Ka or at least an idea. But it would take some time and right now all he wanted to think about was introducing Dizzy to the family and hoping everything went excellent! He needed to take things one step at a time.

Setting the ship down softly, Kyle let his father know he had arrived. Excited, he made a quick mention of him bringing a visitor. However, he didn't say much more, wanting to keep everyone in expectation.

Knocking on her door again, Kyle asked to come in.

Dizzy felt the ship come into land, knowing the feelings of landing ships from experience. Feel and sound had been the only way she'd known previously that she was 'coming and going'. She did wonder what he would have said if she'd have gone to the cockpit to watch them come in. Diz had never sat in the cockpit of a ship before. One thing she did wish to rectify now that she was free. It seemed that everyone knew how to fly a ship or speeder so she wanted to be just like everyone else in that matter. It would also give her another bit of confidence with the extra freedom it would bring. As she heard the tap on the door, she called out for him to come in, placing the now completed datapad down on the bedside table and standing up.

"This ok?" She asked as she indicated to the black outfit and cloak she was now wearing. Her hair was mostly loose, though had some tied back into a braid. That she was nervous about meeting his family was obvious. Just what would they think of her?

Kyle nodded, "Yeah. That should be fine. Don't worry. They're excited to meet you already."

Looking her over one last time, Kyle grinned, "Yup. You look perfect."

Then taking hold of her hands, Kyle took a deep breath, "Ok. You ready?"

Dizzy looked up from where he held her hands, also taking a number of deep breaths.

"As ready as I can be I guess." Here goes nothing...

She let Kyle lead her outside of the ship...

As they walked down the ramp of the ship, Kyle whispered, "How should I introduce you? My your nickname or your real name? Any title before that?"

Outside, Kail's father awaited him, joined by several other officers. His father was a tall man, standing a powerful 6'6 clothed in full Valtros armor, including a helmet that covered his face. Few were ever allowed to see that face of Valtros, outside of immediate family.

His voice deep but friendly, Valtros began, "I see you've brought us a lady friend, my son. I have to say, you truly surprised me this time. You must introduce me. And before you do, welcome to New Mari city. I am Valtros, leader of the Valtrosians. Who might you be?"

Dizzy hadn't thought of that... it was rare that anyone knew her actual name. Well, Thorpe's Corporation now did so it wouldn't hurt here, besides, Kyle knew it.

"No... no title..."

It was all she had time to say before her eyes caught sight of the opposing figure of his fully armoured father. She swallowed, trying to hide her nervousness at both meeting his family and being out in the open again, blue sky above her. As he spoke to her, Dizzy had to swallow again before speaking, her voice quiet indicating her nervousness.

"Diz... Disra K'Lar Sir..."

Her eyes darted around, her hand unconsciously seeking Kyle's for support and comfort.

Kail knew Dizzy was reaching for his hand. He didn't really want to give away their current relationship quite yet, at least not before he had time to explain everything. However, making Dizzy feel comfortable was most important. Kyle grasped her hand and held it tight.

"K'lar? A familiar name. Well, Miss K'lar, it is an honor to meet you. Once again, our people welcome you," the two clothed attendants on each side of Valtros bowed respectfully to her.

"What beings you to our humble soil?"

Kyle laughed a little under his breath. There was little humble about New Mari and especially Mari palace. The circular pad they had landed on was rimmed with gold. He had always thought of it as a lolipop sticking out of the palace with its wrapper still on. The extended walkway leading to the palace doors they were now standing on was styled with fine brickmanship, the bricks colored with a golden brown tint. Below they elevated landing strip, flowers, shrubbery, trees, and other foliage decorated the grounds. The castle-like fortress of the Valtros was far from humble, yet very peaceful and serene.

"We are here...uh... because I wanted Di...Dizra to meet the family. And I wanted to see you, of course."

Valtros chuckled, "Of course. But alas, my son, there is no reason for us to stand outside all day, as nice as that may be. Come, both of you. I have prepared a feast for your arrival."

Kyle grinned thinly.

It figures. I thought he might do that. I'm glad I cooked a light breakfast. I hope Dizzy... Disra is still hungry.

Lifting his hands to his head, Valtros positioned them on his helmet. It was a radiant helmet with a crimson red tint and gold flaps on its sides. It well complimented his gold suit of full body armor and the gold tinted cap that contained a crimson underbelly and a small fettered crimson lining. Valtros slowly removed his helmet, his attendants full to the ground their faces to the ground. Kyle did likewise.

"You are my guests. You may raise. Any friend of my son is a friend of mine. Come. My attendants will see to your bags and your accommodations."

What Disra now saw in front of her was the face of a regal man of many years. With long flowing white hair and a well-kept beard, the man looked powerful and wise, yet kind and compassionate.

"How many rooms and beds will you require?" Valtros inquired half serious, yet half playfully.

Kyle glanced at Dizzy, uncertain. Probably two room with a bed a piece or one room with two beds he guessed. He would let her take that one.

Valtros nodded at the reply, "Very well. Make it so. Now, come with me. We have a feast to attend in your honor, my son."

Turning, Valtros's cape twirled in the air before wrapping around him and falling back down to his feet. He then lead the way to the doors of the palace.

As they walked across the masonry to the large palance doors, Kyle turned to whisper to Dizzy, "See, I told you he would like you. He even removed his helmet. That is a great honor. This is so cool. All that stuff I told you about watching your figure, just forget about it. It would be disrespectful if we didn't enjoy ourselves at the feast. And believe me, when the Valtros throws a feast, its a feast! Hehe... that's how I started packing on so many pounds..."

Glancing back over his shoulder, Valtros grinned teasingly, "Do you mind filling me in on our secret conversation there, son?"

Kyle looked up awkwardly, "Uh... yeah... I was just talk about kid stuff. Nothing important."

Valtros laughed, "Oh. I see. I used to be a kid once, too, you know. Very well. When you feel like telling me, you can do so. I'll be right in front of you if you need me."

Moving down the corridors, they headed for the banquet hall.

To say that Dizzy was awestruck would be putting it very mildly as she took in everything around her in her quick darting glances before she returned her gaze to Kyle's father, her hand squeezing Kyle's. When Valtros said her surname was familiar, Dizzy's eyes widened slightly, her gaze shifting back to Kyle for a moment before returning to his father. She hadn't thought it had been a very common name, though then, she had been kept away from everything since age six. She didn't know if she should bow in return or what as the attendants bowed to her.

"Likewise Sir", her quiet voice responded to his welcome, choosing to stand straight.

When Valtros took off his helmet, Dizzy was bewildered at what to do, feeling Kyle's grip falter as he went to the ground along with all of the attendants. She was quick to follow suit though, not wanting to enrage anyone with her lack of knowledge, and not wanting to be the only other person standing when everyone else had lowered their positions to the ground. As everyone else did, Diz rose to her feet, her eyes meeting with the regal man in front of her. She saw the resemblance Kyle had with him.

At his question, Dizzy felt her face heat up with embarrassment, quickly lowering her eyes to the ground as she felt herself going bright red. That Kyle didn't answer brought her very embarrassed gaze to meet with his as she swallowed again. It seemed he wanted her to answer. While Disra didn't want to be seen as a floozie, she also didn't want to be any distance from the only person she was familiar with. Dizzy had no idea if there were adjoining rooms or what to expect, and didn't want to have too much distance from Kyle with everything so unfamiliar around her. Very quietly, and it seemed after another attempt to make sound come out, she was heard to say,

"One please... with seperate beds"

He must have heard her as he responded affirmatively before leading the way inside. Dizzy had never felt this shy before, but then, even though she had been in slavery, everything around her had been familiar to her. Here she had to rely on Kyle and hope that she wouldn't make a fool of herself.

Hearing Kyle's reassuring voice in her ear, brought a slight though still very nervous smile to her face. Her hand was again interlaced with his, Dizzy not wanting to let go as they made their way along. Her eyes had met with his again as he spoke of the feast. She knew he was trying to make her feel more comfortable, and was very grateful for it.

She again found her face flushed back to red when his father turned back commenting on their 'secret conversation'. Dizzy was aware of the teasing tone, it somewhat similar to what Reena had done. This time she remained silent, letting Kyle speak. She wondered if she were destined to remain bright red during this entire visit or if she'd have a chance to settle down to a 'normal' tint any time soon...

Inside, the banquet hall was quite massive. Reminisent of a castle-like hall, it has a very high ceiling with similar brickwork as they had seen outside, on these bricks were baby blue. As for the floors, it was done completely in marble. In the middle, a large table that could seat at least 50 people stretched out before them. Tables of various foods also lined the walls.

"It's all you can eat, of course. How about you too kids go grab yourself something to eat. When you are ready, Kyle, you can take a seat next to me. And you're girl can sit next to you. I already took the liberty of preparing my plate. I'll be at the head of the table if you need me. Eat up."

Kyle nodded. Glancing around, Kyle looked for people he know. It seemed like everyone was here to welcome him. The entire Council was here, he spotted at least one of his brothers, and other high officials, officers, and relatives.

Someone resting their hand on his shoulder, Kyle turned to see who it might be.

"Deborma!" Kyle exclaimed excitedly, releasing Dizzy's hand for a second to hug him.

Deborma returned the hug. Strange as it might have been, Kyle had addressed him properly as everyone called him Deborma, even though he did actually have a real first name. Either way, he always been one of Kyle's closest friends since he had arrived here on the planet from enslavement. At the ripe age of 132, Deborma still didn't look a day over 70. A lanky, wise old man, Deborma usually walked without any aid, although he did use the occasional cane depending on how he was feeling, the distance we would be walking, how many stairs he had to climb, and things like that. He was clean cut at the moment in a wizard-like green robe.

"Kyle. I see you're all grown up now. Even got a wife a see?"

Kyle grinned shaking his head and taking hold of Dizzy's hand, "No. She's not my wife. She's Disra. She's a close friend of mine."

The old man grinned, taking hold of her hand and kissing it, "It's an honor to meet you miss. You better watch out for this kid, though. He's trouble."

Kyle joked back, "Don't listen to him. He's just a crazy old coot."

"That may be so, but who has years more of experience here."

"Heh heh. You win. So how have you been? Anything new with the house of Deborma?"

"I've been good. The council is constantly debating new ideas as usual, and our house is prospering at the moment. I'd say we are more than happy with our situation so far."

Kail was glad to here that.

Shifting subjects, Deborma questioned, "But enough of me, Disra, my dear, what brings you to our serene city? And with the likes of him no less," Deborma finished with a chuckle.

Dizzy's eyes kept darting back and forth, taking in the new scenery around her. Everything was beautiful. And the food... looking at the table there were foods she had never even dreamed of having in her wildest of dreams. Kyle seemed to know everyone, Dizzy not wanting to leave his side as she felt very shy, everything so new and she not knowing anyone else. It was fast becoming overwhelming to her. She watched as he greeted Deborma, her arms wrapping protectively around herself as she stood silently near the two as they greeted each other. She felt so out of place, wanting to vanish into the wall and disappear. Dizzy kept a smile on her face, still showing how shy she was though she was trying not to look as uncomfortable as she was feeling.

Dizzy was shocked when she heard Deborma refer to her as Kyle's wife, her surprise showing as her face again flushed with colour. Her eyes went down to where her hands were now clasped in front of her. I wonder if the floor will open up and swallow me now? With the reactions that everyone had given them, Dizzy surmised that Kyle hadn't brought anyone home before, let alone a female. It seemed that everyone thought their relationship was further along than what it actually was. Dizzy had been very flattered when he had kissed her cheek, the thoughts flashing across her mind in wonder to what it would be like if he were to kiss her lips.

Right now though, she didn't know what to think or how to act. She breathed out the breath she had been holding as Kyle explained that they were just friends, though took comfort again as his hand closed around hers once more, her eyes rising to meet with his. Her blush deepened as the old man took, then kissed her hand. Her voice again soft as she responded.

"A... a pleasure to meet you Sir."

She had to smile at their banter, feeling a little more at ease from hearing it. Once her hand had returned to Kyle's she relaxed just a little bit more, falling quiet again and just listening to their banter until directly asked another question. Her eyes again sought Kyle's, not really knowing how to answer, what to say to them and what he had already told them about her. It would be best to be diplomatic with her answers, though she did not want to be dishonest with them.

"We met recently... on Coruscant Sir. I... don't know many people and Kyle kindly asked if I would come here with him."

She didn't want to come out and say that she was, until only a few days ago, a dancer slave. Not until she and Kyle had discussed what should be said about that and to who. She couldn't help but guess that they would know there was something she wasn't saying. Would they all think differently about her knowing what she was? An orphaned ex-slave who had no idea where her home planet was.

"It is very beautiful here Sir."

A grin broke across the man's aged face, "Yes, it is, isn't? New Mari palace is the pride and jewel of the empire. Every good ruler needs a good palace to come home to. You two eat up, now."

Kyle nodded, "Yeah. We were just about to do that. I just had to say hi and introduce Disra to you. We need to talk more later."

"I look forward to it. Ms. Disra, please stay and enjoy the hospitality of New Mari as long as you like. You are always welcome."

With that, the old man walked towards the table as Kyle and Dizzy headed to grab a plate of food. Grabbing one plate for him and handing Dizzy a plate, Kyle began to fill his dish. Before them were the "delicacies of the king," including the finest meats, fruits, and vegetables, many coming directly for Valtros's royal garden. Serving himself a few things, with Dizzy serving herself behind him, Kyle was started when someone shoved him almost tipping his plate over.

"Yo, bro! What's up with that? You aren't going to say hi to your own flesh and blood?"

Kyle glanced over sarcastically irritated, "Half blood."

"Dude, dad's half is all that matters. So who's the chick?"

"The lady with me is named Disra K'lar. You can call her Miss K'lar."

Moving in between Kyle and Dizzy, Titus questioned her, lowering in his voice and leaning in towards her, "How much did he have to pay to bring you here?"

"Hey!" Kyle said shoving Titus in the back playfully.

"Hey. Hey what? Man, you like go away for the longest and then show up with some hot chick..."

"Lady."

"Yeah... whatever... but where was I... oh yeah... you show up with some hot chick out of nowhere. Dude. You must have so paid her off or kidnapped her or something."

Kyle rolled his eyes. Family could be so annoying at times, especially close family.

"No. She has not been kidnapped, forced here, paid to be here or anything."

"No way, Dude. Me and Luke got a bet going. I said you paid her, he thinks you kidnapped her. Man, what are we going to do if you did neither? That's not cool... like... like we can't have both of us lose. That's like not even cool. Who wins the bet then?"

Kyle sighed, turning his attention back to getting food, "I guess I do."

"Dude, we are not giving you our money. You didn't even bet with us. And that means we didn't shake on it, anyways."

"Well, Disra came on her own free will, I asked her to come and she agreed and so here she is. Ask her if you don't believe me."

"I will. Dude, man..."

"It's Disra!" Kyle rose his voice a little irritated.

"Yeah... Disra... whatever... dude... did you really come like.... you know... just whatever? Or did he like force you here...." Then Titus smiled. "Or am I right that he paid you to come? Come on say I'm right. I'll split half of my winnings with you."

Diz smiled back at the older man, it now lighting up her chocolate brown eyes. He was nice, genuinely nice. As he said for them to eat up, Dizzy's eyes lit up more,

"We will Sir. Thankyou for your kindness."

She inclined her head to him in a bow as he left them. As she took the plate from Kyle, she whispered, "He was nice", then began to add a small taste of the most delicious foods she had ever seen. It was a very difficult choice for her, and while she would like to try everything, she didn't want to look greedy. When someone nearly knocked Kyle's plate, Diz spun her head to see who it was, just a little jumpy still, though discovering that there was no threat to her. Well, at least she didn't think there was.

She could sense the annoyance Kyle showed his half brother as he carried on about the bet. One thing she was used to, though didn't get much on it, was being called 'hot'. She had gotten that from the Pirates all the time. Behind his brother's back, Dizzy rolled her eyes as Kyle caught her eye. She had to wonder now, who was Luke and how long would it take him to approach as well? Giving herself a mental shake, almost laughing as he called her 'Dude', Dizzy shook her head,

"Sorry. Kyle's right. You're wrong. I came here of my free will after Kyle asked me to."

She then grinned across at Kyle, in her mind remembering one of the girls favourite fairytales, and applying it to now, only having to modify it slightly in her mind for their purposes.

"How could I resist the charms of a Knight in shining armour when he rescued me?"

Kyle was caught a little by surprise, feeling slightly flushed at the comment. He wasn't one to visibly redden very often, and even when he did it didn't show up much. Unfortunately, it still did. Grinning and opening his mouth to shift his jaw, Kyle positioned his hand on his chin, one eyebrow raised, posing for his younger brother.

Titus gave him a somewhat spitful 'whatever, your weird' look and walked away.

After he left, Kyle found himself mixing excited laughter with humorous laughter as he burst into laughter, "That was awesome. I don't think I've ever seen someone shut Titus up like that," Kyle spoke barely able to speak through the laughter.

Kyle reached out to give Dizzy a high-five, "I'm glad he came over after all. I really wouldn't have wanted to miss that look on his face."

Filling his plate, Kyle wait for Dizzy before heading to the table. Finding his seat to the right, across from his father, Kyle set down his plate. He then helped Dizzy into her chair before seating himself.

As everyone took their seats, Valtros called for their attention, "Attention, everyone. I know you all know why we are gathered here. We are here to welcome back my son. However, what most of you don't know is that we are also here to welcome another fine person. I present before you, Miss Disra K'lar," Valtros rose his glass. "To Disra K'lar and Kyle Kail, welcome home!"

"To them," the group shouted as they raised their glasses.

Then everyone began to dig in. Kyle glanced over to Dizzy and smiled.

"Thanks for coming. It means a lot."

Dizzy smiled back as they walked over to the table. She placed the plate down, meeting Kyle's eyes as he seated her and murmuring her thanks. Dizzy wasn't sure how to respond when the toast was given, feeling her face heating up once again. While she had been used to being the center of attention on the stage, this was far different than that. Then she could tune out, here she couldn't. She followed Kyle's lead with the response instead, very nervous about it. As Kyle thanked her for coming, she smiled at him again,

"Thankyou for asking me."

With everyone beginning their meals now, Dizzy began her's as well. The first morsel of food she placed in her mouth had her closing her eyes and savouring the taste. It was scrumptious. She had never tasted food of the like before. Reopening her eyes, she looked to see if she had more of it on her plate.

"What is this Kyle? It's... so good. I've never tasted anything like it before."
