Ord Mantell

About twelve LN protocol droids had arrived on planet, along with 14 Black Sun Agents around the time the planet grew dark. They were sent by Zalis Krales to begin construction on a new project. At the main center most part of town, a spot that was close to the spaceport, the casinos, a junkyard, and all other sorts of whore houses and black markets shops, they were to build a large building that would resemble a castle. They came armed with very specific instructions on details of stones, gems, carpet, layouts and designs of the overall structure. Within it, it would have direct access to a tunnel system that would have a transit trams that would travel underground from the Castle that would be called, Sandorne Palace, to a far off junkyard building that would be used for Black Sun to constantly create new weapons, armor, and poisons that could be sold in the back market or to allies that were in need of them. Thus began a long three weeks of building Sandorne Palace.

Zalis arrived to the planet that she would make her personal home base outside of Dark Sun station. She landed her ship within the newly minted hangar bay for the new head quarters for Black Sun on the water and mountain ranged filled planet. Sandorne Palace looked like the progress of construction had been very successful over the past few weeks, making the palace very large and now the very central thing anyone would see upon entering Worlport city. She was greeted at the bottom of her landing ramp of her ship, Supremacy.

"Milady, the construction literally finished last night. As you requested, we offered up our guest suites to the local casino owners. Many are now waking up this morning and enjoying the breakfast we provided them... We have also received a call on your behalf..."

"I know. The casino owners will meet with me within two hours. I want for the needed files to be ready for them. The call you received is in regards to the contract I posted. They are most likely looking for details. I will return their call within my own personal chambers. Until then... Take the extra funds from this building project and bring in some of the dregs of this city. I have use for them."

She was quick to dismiss him and make her way to her own chambers to prepare for the meeting with the local casino owners and send the details of the job to whatever bounty hunter felt like they needed to credits. This was the turn of the Black Sun. They would now control many markets and have a decent supply of credits always flowing in.

The man who was operating the front desk along with a droid watched as the two Mandalorian’s walked in. The two introduced themselves as a pair whom Zalis must have been expecting. The man held a rather annoyed look on his face, but the droid seemed happy to comply without hesitation. With a very feminine/robotic voice, it let its voice ring out.

“Oh yes, Ms. Krales has been expecting you. She told us very specific instructions that she would have someone interested in the recent job posting. She seems to think that such a contract as the one she put out would draw the attention of smugglers more than mercenaries such as yourself, but as long as someone took the job. Those were her exact words. I know that she is currently busy meeting with the local casino owners, trying to get them to se-“

The droid cut out as the man working the table reached over and flipped a switch on the back of the droid’s neck and offered up an apologetic glance their way.

“Sorry bout that. XP3 seems to have a quirk where she talks… unnecessarily and too much. I’ve sent a page for Ms. Krales. She will be here shortly.”

And with that, he returned to his own work on a datascreen that the two Mandalorian’s could not see.

**** Meeting Room ****

Zalis sat within her black pants and white overcoat that was buttoned up at the head of the desk. Her feet were up upon the table as she held a datapad in her hand, and a very unamused look upon her face. On her complete opposite end sat a man who would be by any standard; obese. In fact, she was well aware that the man weighed over 500 pounds. His weight must have been a reason that the other owners looked to him to make decisions regarding overall policy, as they refused to answer any questions and would instead just turn towards him until he spoke. His words, which seemed to be getting near spitting level as he was frustrated by her.

“Ma’am, I understand that your company has a reputation of increasing sales of the locations that you go to, and that—Why are you looking so bored? This whole meeting was your idea.”

Zalis let her eyes roll for a moment before putting her feet down on the floor and laying the datapad down.

“I’m bored by you. You seem to be under the impression that your little tiny casino is worth much on this backwater world. You don’t get something for nothing. My deal remains on the table. If the other gentleman at this table can find their voice and balls before it’s too late, maybe we can work something out. For now, you all have a week to decide. Businesses that do not sign the deal will not get the harvest. Good day.”

She made sure that her voice sounded that it was all done. The owners all slowly got up and left. Zalis sat in her chair and continued to look over the datapad. The largest casino wasn’t worth much, they only brought in 500 credits a week. Although their records didn’t show the full spending that all of them were claiming. Poor fools. Completely unaware of the disaster they’re walking into. Once the room cleared, she took notice that she had her mercs here waiting for the needed supplies. Picking up her comm, she paged for one of her droids to bring the needed equipment to the front, and she herself walked up to greet them.

“Greetings. You’ve arrived faster than what I was expecting for you to. I’m Zalis Krales, the one who put out the contract for this job. What sort of questions might you have directly for me before the supplies arrive?”

Zalis looked from one Mandalorian to the other as she raised her right eyebrow. She had suspected as much from the declining culture, yet now it was more evident before her now.

"So indulgence for ignorance. I had hoped that the rumors were less true, but it would appear otherwise."

Almost as soon as she finished, LP2, the droid she had sent for the items came around the corner with everything in it's arms.

"That list as you referred to it, is actually very standard, and many smugglers decide upon whether they want to take on the contract or not based upon price and if they really can pull of the job. Rarely do bounty hunters take it, but some do out of sheer lack of work. The bears and plants must be brought back whole and fully intact. Failure to do so will result in a dock of pay. Since I'm going to assume you wouldn't do any research, Ironwithe is what the Renda bears eat. Take the bears first if you want to live long enough to get paid."

The droid finally stood beside her, and Zalis opened up the briefcase looking crate to reveal it's contents.

"3 different types of chemicals. I want for you to use these after you collected the bears and plants. Because I do not know fully what they will do, I want my prize of the bears and plants first. The chemicals should be used accordingly. One for a water test, one for a soil test, and finally, one for an air test. The four pieces of surveillance equipment are as follows. two for the ground, placed within 100 yards of where you conducted the chemical test. The other two are space worthy. I want them there."

Zalis then shut the case and lifted it by the handle and extended it towards the two Mandalorians.

"And of course, destroy the evidence means leave nothing that could show that you were there. The surveillance equipment is designed to decompose on the surface after a standard week passes."

Zalis watched with a raise eyebrow that showed how annoyed she was with the Mandalorians. Once they had full left the building, she turned towards XP3 and Yurri Kane, the receptionist at the new found Head Quarters for Black Sun.

"Make a note for me, don't invite Mandalorians to our jobs. Or at least have Delta provide me with with ways to contact better ones."

Zalis began to walk away from the main desk but stopped rather short upon realizing she wanted something from the receptionist.

"Actually... how is the lab testing going on Project Madness?"

XP3 spoke up quickly. "Oh Ma'am, the reports have been good from what have seen. Songsteel and Cortosis seem to be merging fairly well. Although I have heard that they are working hard to forge and use Neuranium and Phrik. Although, they are having far less decent results." Zalis held up a hand to stop the droid.

"Thank you very much. I may want to take a sample to Delta. Have XP7 and LP4 and LP8 join me down in the labs. Continue to see what sort of information you can come up with on the whereabouts of Mythic Target. I'll want a report within the next two weeks. Also... Yurri, post a job contract from Project Dark Wood. Let's get that piece moving. I'm sure our... allies would love to see results in that area."

With that, Zalis turned and began to walk towards the labs at Black Castle.

Zalis showed up on the lab level, which was thirteen floors below the main one, and outside of the basement level below the main floor, only authorized personnel knew or had access to the lab floor. It was designed to be so far away from the public that no one would be able to detect it, and so far removed from other floors and deep down that no sensors from space would ever be able to know of it's existence. As she walked out of the turbolift doors, she was greeted quickly by two men standing guard lazily and had to recover upon seeing how it was. They moved to the side and allowed for her to use the hand and eye scan to gain access to the labs beyond the door. Once she was cleared, she walked in to smell a mix of harsh scents that made her want to vomit quickly upon the floor that she walked. She would have worried about her own safety of smelling such things, but she also knew that the main area where she walked was under protocol to remain hazard free.

"So tell me gentlemen, I have heard some reports on Project Madness that makes me a bit... unhappy."

There was four males working in main room. A Rodian, a Mon Calamari, and two Twi'leks. In the back labs beyond the range of hearing anything that Zalis was saying were a few more workers that she could not actually see their species. Although, she did remember that from the portfolios that there should be three humans in the mix. The Rodian stood up from his desk and quickly bowed before Zalis as he moved closer to her.

"Ma'am, the results are temperamental for the moment. We all told you that it would take up to three years before we could produce such a weapon for you. Phrik and Cortosis are really hard materials to merge. The minerals that make them up are in fact, resistant."

'So incompetence is your excuse. I remember very clearly asking you that if paired up with at least one more scientist in your field that you could do it in half the time and your answer was, and I quote... 'Beyond doable.' Since I brought twelve of you together, all of your reputations are proving to be... unqualified."

The Rodian looked panicked all of a sudden and began to tremor with fear that his life could be taken by the woman who was known to end the careers and lives of those who failed her. One of the Twi'lek's stood up and intervened. Brave, but incredibly stupid. He placed himself between Zalis and the Rodian.

"Ma'am, if you are angry with those results, perhaps I can advert your attention to Project Kyber Dart?"

The Twi'lek quickly snapped his own fingers at the other two to bring the project to her. The Mon Calamari was the one who brought it off a desk and moved very quickly to stand next to the Twi'lek who stood before her. He then offered her up a blaster.

"If you recall Ma'am, you had requested blaster that would hold a dual purpose. We think that such a weapon like this is exactly what you were looking for. The whole frame work is designed around the main mechanics of the Wookiee's Bowcaster. It fires a quarrel that is strong enough to prices through many of the armors that we could have tested. But upon hitting something that it cannot pierce, or if the quarrel is broken by say, a lightsaber... Then it explodes into shrapnel and the gas pellets on the sides release, making it a dangerous weapon to be used against any foe..."

Even as the scientist spoke, Zalis examined the blaster. It looked like a fairly similar weapon to what she had seen before, but until ti was tested in the field, she would have no clue to the actual potency of the weapon. Looking up to see almost all of the scientists shaking just slightly in fear, and the other Twi'lek held the two other prototype blasters designed, she handed it back to them.

"I guess this requires a field test then. I'll take all three with me on my next journey. Have them sent up to XP9 for delivery into the field. But consider this a warning... this is not a success. It's an offering, and one that I simply do not need. Next time, you had better offer up more. Otherwise I will take your life for such incompetence and failure."

With that, Zalis turned and began to head back to the turbolift and to the main lobby of Black Castle.

Zalis entered the main lobby hall of Black Castle and began to make her way towards her own personal hangar bay where her ship awaited her. She could see that XP7 and LP4 both moved through the doors carrying cases that held what she wanted to have field tested, while LP8 and LP9 stood awaiting for her. There was also a random employee standing next to them, but upon seeing her, turned and moved back to wherever he was supposed to be stationed.

“Give me some good news LP9.”

The droid turned its head in what could almost be described as a jolted shocked motion. Although she was very well aware that the droid held no emotions and had several memory wipes to ensure this.

“Ma’am, the Supremacy has been loaded and is being primed as we speak. I also have WP6 and WP5 ready to pilot us to Onderon, as per your orders. I did run into a security issue though while trying to post contract 473287-I-1, otherwise called Project Dark Wood. It requires authorization of a Vigo for such a high status. I have it setup to be posted upon us boarding the Supremacy. Yurri also gave me a file for you to review for our trip in regards to Mythic Target.”

Zalis arched an eyebrow out of the news she received, although this time, it was fully out of amusement. She honestly didn’t think to have any information on Mythic Target but would happily except whatever she could. Taking the datapad from the droids hands, she moved towards the ship and had the two droids follow her. After she had boarded, the ship was up in the air and headed for Onderon.

Zalis sat within the private quarters that the Obsidian Phoenix held. She was sitting within a chair that was looking out a viewport of the starling that streaked slightly above her head. She had one hand upon her head as she rubbed away a headache, while the other held tightly to a glass full of Idlewil liquor. The sudden shaking of the ship allowed for her to realize that they had made it home. Or rather, what was slowly becoming home for her. Coruscant was always home. But somehow, even before the Mandalorians destroyed it, she understood that there would be no going back. She never wanted to see the place again, as credits always seemed to fall into a vacuum of sorts there. Out in Mid and Outer rims, credits were far more valuable for the moment. She would leave the Core to her other agents and Vigos who held a more interest in those parts.

Standing up, she walked towards the cockpit with her glass in hand. Since getting back onboard the ship, she wore the laced white dress with her black boots, leaving her jacket for the colder weather that occupied the planet of Taris. She walked in and gave Remo a warm tap on the dome of his head as she sat down net to him. She left the majority fo the piloting to him, and he seemed to be very trusting for the most part. She slung back the remaining elements of her drink and kicked her feet up only slightly, but not enough to interfere with the piloting.

"It feels good to be home Remo."

She then turned and realized that officially he had never been to Ord Mantell before.

"Sandorne Palace as it's called by the locals, but known by everyone else as Black Castle. It's the primary Black Sun headquarters. It's here that I will dispatch others to be Vigos for me and spread them across the galaxy... Very soon I will have a foothold everywhere..."

It was then that she suddenly got sad as she thought about Delta. He was loyal to Black Sun and had done so much, even before he arrival and accession. Now.. it seemed like she had not seen the man since she first met Remo. Her own mind became occupied with thoughts of how to reward such loyalty, and in so doing, she allowed for her feet to return to the metal floor of the ship's hull as she now sat sunken within her seat.

Zalis was able to offer up a smile to Remo as she stood up and began to walk down the ramp. She once again offered the droid a soft touch as she walked past him. Upon reaching the ground, she allowed herself a moment to openly inhale the air of the planet. The smell that hit her nostrils were a mix of dirt, metal, alcohol and an overall scent of fumes from the spaceport. Letting out a heavy exhale, she looked off to her right to observe some of the dregs and scoundrels talking over their winnings at a local casino. It made her narrow her eyes as she half listened in before walking away and towards the entrance of Black Castle.

"Remo, make a note for me. Lets look into a more higher profile planet that may attract... wealthier clients..."

She didn't bother to make sure he was following her okay, as she was far more interested in just getting back into a normal routine. Plus the fact that she had much bigger problems recently. Her encounter with Celteo on Taris made her far more aware that there was a high need for her Vigos to be more involved within the galaxy. But it also produced another problem altogether. The power and reach of Black Sun was still small in some ways. That would be something that she would need to fix quickly. Using people like Celteo may prove an avenue that she never thought of before.

Upon entering the building of Black Castle, the receptionist droid WP 12 became aware of her and leaned forward, paging one of her underlings, who upon getting signal came running out in a panic, quickly offering up his boss a slight bow before beginning with a shaky voice. "Ma'am, the Mandalorians have been within reports of destroying Coruscant, along with hostiles at Chandrilia. I have also been unable to reach Delta as you requested." Zalis turned and looked him in the eyes. His eyes seemed panicked and full of fear.

"Who cares what the Mandalorians do. Those planets have already been polluted with politics. Let them burn. What we should be doing is selling arms to them. Reach out to their leader and see if they may be willing to setup a deal with us. And as far as Delta is concerned, he's free to roam wherever he wants. I'll reach out to him on my own time. I have never once asked for you to do that. Over step your boundaries again and I'll kill you where you stand. For now, contact the Mandalorains. I'll be in my office with Remo..."

Zalis quickly walked past the man and towards her office. She needed some time to think through what her next steps would be.

Zalis sat down at her desk and pulled up files rather quickly. She was scanning the most recent messages that came her way on the holonet, which seemed to be for the most part- super irrelevant. Each and every file message made her roll her eyes at the content of each message.

"Oh Remo... These poor fools think it wise to ask for credits that they have never earned. Although... Vandor... plug that name in Remo."

Zalis kept scanning for files here and there until she stopped at a message. Yordel Vuxen was the name, requesting twelve reinforced carbine blasters to be delivered to Onderon. Her mind raced with thoughts.

"Forget Vandor Remo... Let's make a visit to Onderon..."

Zalis allowed for a smile to come to her face. She remembered that Onderon held a healthy black market, and the carbines being requested were illegal on over half of the populated planets. Luckily for this Yordel, Ord Mantell was the headquarters of black market sales and productions. And of course, Black Sun was the one who pushed the iron machine that ran it. Although, she was certain that Black Castle only held 12 to begin with within their production facility beneath the surface floor. I'm going to need to have more supplies delivered here to keep up with a potential supply and demand... The thought was all she needed to know for her to begin to put things into motion for the future of her company.

Zalis felt slightly annoyed for a moment as she watched Remo play around with things from her personal drawer. If only the droid had known where the device had been, or rather, what it had fully been used for, he may not play around with it. But then again, did droids even think about such things in ways the sentient species did? It seemed somewhat irrelevant anyways, as the droid destroyed the one in this drawer. It meant that her other ones would need to be locked up tighter.

Standing up from her desk, she moved to get herself dressed for the occasion. She knew that the Sith Empire held Onderon, and she wanted to make a deal. Black markets and close alliances always seemed to get forged stronger at formal settings. And from what she heard from the pipeline, this man was one who preferred the nicer things in life, unlike some of his former predecessors. So with hat information, she picked out the the perfect black dress that was backless and showed enough of her chest to draw eyes towards her. Upon looking at herself in the mirror, she looked at Remo and smiled.

"If you're ready Remo, we can go and deliver some goods and make a few... lasting connections."

With the last part of her words, she looked at the mirror and blew a kiss at herself. She knew she was bound to draw eyes and that should make things easier in getting what she wanted. So she then sent a page for a few others to deliver the reinforced carbine blasters for Yordel Vuxen. Hopefully this trip would prove much more rewarding than her last outing at Taris.

Zalis didn’t really remember any part of landing or what sort of interactions she may have had on her way up to her suite, yet here she found herself, laying down on her bed. She only managed to take her coat and shoes off, so she lay with just her white dress on and stared up at the ceiling. It held patterns of gold swirled into black marble made it look like the ceiling was trying to hypnotize her. Part of her wanted to pull out her blaster and start shooting at it until it changed to something more appealing. The thought of being disgusted with her ceiling was made quickly irrelevant with the Holonet talking about Kyllan’s choice to ask for the full 30 days before responding to the bailout. It was then that she lost her cool and reached for her blaster and fired a good 7 shots into the screen.

Her mind quickly had a few choice words about him, but she needed him to believe that he still held some form of control over what was about to happen in the next few months. The sparks of the screen were making some noise that stirred her to stand up and pace the room. She wasn’t really sure why she felt like him buying time was hurting her plans. Hell, it took two years to pull off the first phase of this plan, what’s 30 days more. She stopped as she looked out her window of the busy streets of Worlport city. Below was a collection of beggars, thieves, scoundrels, business types, aspiring crime lords and the wealthy all mixed together. She watched very carefully as a few had conversations, every so often one would point towards the giant building, Sandorne Palace. Although many knew it simply as Black Castle. With a sigh, she turned and left her suite.

Without any shoes on, she began to walk to floors of the castle, allowing for a few of the working officers to talk with her, all seemed to be hesitant with her at first, after all, she had killed those whom failed her on sight before. She needed to change that image amongst the crew, and that was what she was doing now. Simply walking the halls having conversations with those who worked for her and doing her best to encourage them and give small praise for the things they were doing right – which was as simple as just maintaining the building. She needed to slowly move the whole organization from fear driven to motivational driven. They need to start to feel as if it’s better for them to do better work, versus doing things simply out of fear. Hell, maybe she could use some of these officers to become Vigos down the road.

But for now, she did need to launch her next two plans into motion. Using her commlink, she contacted Remo. “Remo, I need for you to access our system files and carry out Project Titan and Project Alimony.”

Zalis sat and thought through the next few steps within her office. Deep down, she knew that the next steps were critical for the survival of Black Sun for future endeavors, but it didn't make them easier to officially act upon. Letting out a sigh, she put down the datapad that showed the progress of Project Titan and placed it next to her drink. A male Twi'lek eyed her as if wanting permission to engage in conversation with her. The awkwardness of the situation was made easier upon the few droids in the room that were packing things into a few suitcases for her. After a moment passed by, she finally looked at him and let out a very loud and annoyed sigh.

"Yes Serfilut- you may speak."

The Twi'lek clearly got slightly uncomfortable upon being given permission, and because of it took a few seconds longer than what Zalis wanted him to in speaking up. "Well... You've spent the last few weeks working very hard to push the local owners inline and getting them used to your... Vigos, that I can't help but wonder if you plan to be more... hands off." Slowly, he began to fidget with his fingers. A tick that Zalis picked up on rather quickly. Most people had a nervous tick, and somehow around her recently, many people starting showing them more often than normal.

"Yes. But not in the sense that you're used to. Locally, all systems that belong to Black Sun will now be in direct control of their Vigos, while I will continue to provide... a more legitimate front to the rest of the galaxy. Expect for Remus to be the one whom you report to. But... for credits and other business you can still approach me directly." It was a slight lie, but one that Serfilut would never pick up on until it was too late to change course. He would be stuck by the time anyone found out the true grand scheme of Black Sun. It was apart of the long term goal that she had been laying the ground work for for over three years. Even Delta had no clue what was truly in store for the galaxy. As of right now, only her and Remo knew, and the droid's programing was still kicking in to fully see everything.

Not wanting to have any further conversations, she stood up and waved her hand at Serfilut. "You are dismissed. Continue with Project Alimony and report to Remus when done." She then snapped her fingers at the droids packing her things and waved them out of the room. She needed to get to the forefront of Project Titan soon.

Letting out a heavy breath she held in for a moment upon arrival, Zalis stared at Ord Mantell through the viewport of Nimbus. Her own thoughts swirled through what sort of mess may have transpired since her last time here. Somehow she had expected for the Vigos she left behind to handle business in her absence, but such reports that she read up on during her travel from Titan to here proved otherwise. As she piloted the ship atmosphere side towards Sandorne Palace, a comm hail came in. With an eye roll she answered it.

“Ma’am, we were not expecting you back so soon. Vigo Rylan is in the middle of setting up the monthly meeting with the casino owners in 15 minutes. If you’d like, we can have you p-“ Have“ me what exactly? Are you or Rylan even aware of why I’m here? I’m landing in my private pad and will do as I please within my own home, much as I’ve alway done.” With that, she cut the feed. Her emotions now turning to a slow and steady anger at the leadership she left in charge. Not wanting to have the fool Rylan get enough time to prep for her, she quickly pushed the throttle to have Nimbus race faster towards its resting spot.

**** Sandorne Palace Meeting Room ****

Dressed in a black and white tuxedo, Rylan smiled as the final guests arrived and found themselves comfortable within their seats. Already glasses of fine sparkling Ryloth wine and trays of assorted desserts were being passed around as a display screen began to show numbers and reports of the last quarter revenue. Rylan himself threw back a glass before standing up to take center stage. He did his best to ignore the comlink that was constantly buzzing from Gwail. Whatever she had to say was something that could wait.

“Gentlemen, may I applaud your efforts to help increase revenue during a time when Black Sun has seen a slight decline in approval ratings from more cite worlds. I’m sure if Zalis was here, she would have a few words to share with you, an-“ the room of occupants suddenly had their own eyes widened and Rylan knew exactly why. A slow turn around revealed Zalis standing behind him. She was in a pure black dress with her hair pulled up and her blues eyes held a fire in them that Rylan had seen a few times before and knew better than to step on her toes at the moment. “The floor is yours, Queen of Vice…”

With her own eyes burning deep into the soul Rylan, she slowly wakes past him and stood before the counsel of casino owners. “Gentleman, what the kark have you been doing in my absence exactly? You think that a two percent increase in revenue is worth a celebration of any kind? What sort of plans have any of you made to capitalize upon the upcoming visitor traffic of the pod races and the arms expo?” There was a quick clearing of a throat before a man, strawberry blonde hair and beard with near black eyes gave a smirking looking stare and spoke up. “You think that just because you gave us a better foundation that you’re in a position to bark out orders. Black Sun’s funding here only helps generate traffic, nothing more. And your survival funds do nothing more than allow me to keep two or three employees on hand. You, sweetheart, are nothing more than eye candy for us.”

Zalis stood up to stand straight and narrowed her own eyes at the man. Huesfan, the womanizer who made some vocal protests recently in the casino world that women shouldn't be on the same level when it came to owning recreational facilities. Part of her wanted to rip his groin out where he stood, but she knew better. So she went for playing him. “Why of course. I’m only here to provide you with ideas from someone else. It’s not like I could come up with an idea of hosting a gala event for the arms expo leaders. That would be beyond me.” Huesfan smiled and stood up. “That does sound like an idea worth doing gentleman, one that I heard floating around long before you spoke it. My place is big enough to host it.” Zalis gave a small curtsy with a smile. “I guess you all are dismissed then. Fluanern, can you come up here?” Zalis backed up and watched as people started to leave, but held her arm out to hold Rylan in. As they were leaving, both Fluanern and Gwail entered. Upon everyone else leaving, Zalis began to pace the room looking at her staff.

“Rylan and Gwail. I left you both in charge with the orders to what? I know they weren’t to goof off and allow for the casino owners to get out of control. I believe my words were, ‘Increase Black Sun dominion.’ What has transpired here in my absence is beyond dismal and worthy of consequences.” Zalis withdrew a blaster in her hand openly in front of the three staff. Gwail’s voice spoke up rather nervously. “It hasn’t been bad enough to kill us all over…” Zalis began to laugh and shake her head. “No, no no! It hasn’t been that bad to kill you both over.” She lifted the blaster and shot Rylan in the throat. “Just one. You on the other hand, are demoted. Spaceport duty. Get out of my face you schutta.” Zalis put her blaster away as she began to walk towards Rylan. “Fluanern, You are the head Vigo of Sandorne Palace now. I expect for you to make right what your predecessors failed.” The young Bothan male gave a smile. “No worries Ma’am. I have a few test poisons ready to be tried. Assuming from how the meeting went that you had me watch, you want Huesfan… more compliant?” Zais only smiled at him and nodded her head. Fluanern knew from that what he had to do, so he left the room, leaving Zalis to stand over Rylan’s body. “And you had such a high promise of potential… Too bad you bet your credits on the wrong path.”

Walking out of the room, she saw Fluanern ordering an agent to be assigned to taking care of Huesfan, along with two others that she did not recognize. The holonet was buzzing about some profiteer on Coruscant making progress with a cooperation named Midnight. It had her stop for a second before letting Fluanern know that she would be taking off immediately to Coruscant, as now she has urgent matters to connect with The Midnight cooperation.

Zalis and Akor’ketez sat in the bridge of the Supremacy as it entered the system. ALmost immediately, the comsystem began blaring. Akor'ketez quickly checked it before turning back to Zalis. "Ma'am, Fluanern is reporting that Sandorne is getting alerts that one of our clients is currently having their spice stolen." Zalis gave a very annoyed look at her trusty assistant. "It's not even our spice?" The Twi'lek shook his head as he responded. "No ma'am. All of ours is cold stored in the underground facility, and with the recent events of Kessel, we've urged our other... supporters to move theirs to a safer location, hence the reason pirates or rival gangs might be attempting to steal theirs." Zalis turned her annoyed face to look at the planet before her. She allowed for herself to process what was going on for a moment.

"Let them take it. It's not our problem what happens to spice. But lets not have them escape without being noticed. Flag the ships and send a few MorningStar's in pursuit of them to make it look convincing." Zalis then stood up and walked out of the cockpit and towards the back of the ship so that she could get ready to meet with the rest of the Vigos and other officials whom were expecting her shortly. Today began the completely new era that she had worked so hard to establish.

*************

Sandorne Palace sent out almost immediately after getting word from Akor'tetez, 4 MorningStar-C starfighters up after the raiders taking the spice. Almost as soon as they got in range, they began to open up fire on the ship being hijacked, making it clear to everyone involved that Black Sun held no interest in keeping the spice, only teaching a lesson.

Zalis walked through the halls of Sandorne Palace with some slight annoyance in the way she carried herself. Akor'ketez walked behind her until a moment when he ducked into a room to do some work. It was something that she admired about him, the ability to do his work without question and needing little to no oversight. He knew what she wanted and what he had to do to make such things happen. As she rounded a corner, she spotted Fluanern standing waiting for her at the entrance of the meeting room. He wore a blue looking tunic with what appeared to be a green vest. His eyes flashed at her a warning, followed by his own words speaking such a warning. "Callika is pissed. Huesfan is stirring up the other investors. Without shooting him... "

Zalis stopped before him and took a moment to compose herself before taking the datapad from him. "I thought we calmed Huesfan down after the last time?" The Bothan shrugged for a moment. "He's an opportunist. He saw this as a chance to fluff up his own position amongst the other investors. I do have a few other options for him moving forward, but..." He stopped and looked at her. She knew what he was thinking and she was almost afraid to say it out loud that she agreed. With a slow head nod she looked directly into his eyes. "Dank Farrik!... Do it." She waited to enter the room until Fluanern walked away and towards his own personal office.

As she opened the doors, the shouting that could be heard outside very muffled now turned up and was beyond loud. It took her about four seconds though to simply walk a bit into the room for everyone within the room to turn towards her and have their own voices die off. She just stood within the door for a moment before walking to take her seat at the head of the table. When she got there, she sat down and tossed the datapad the desk. "Quietly move your spice assets to a secure location... Yet some ambitious smugglers managed to be aware of everyone moving thier goods." She slowly looked around the room, taking a moment to lock eyes with everyone around the V-shaped looking table. She paused for a bit longer on Huesfan.

"Gentleman, I do believe that the majority of you labor under the delusion that this is the Black Sun of old. We are not. I will not have a military force, enforcers or goons around to protect stupid actions. I am not Smash. You all choose to invest within us and allow for us to become the pillar of focus on this planet. When that happened, I informed everyone about how things would be run. Just because I am not here doesn't mean that such said vision is tossed out like bad coaxium. Now I am sure that some here are upset with how things were handled. But allow for me to offer these words up." Zalis stood up and placed both hands upon the table. "I will not let others dictate how I do things, nor will I be bullied into bad business either. From here on, Black Sun will operate exactly how I told you we would way back when. I will provide you with massive clientele and help stir and move people into your own businesses for the sake of good business. But don't look to us for protection. Protect your own damn interests."

Zalis took another moment to look around and lock eyes with everyone at the table before she sat back down. She then lifted her hand and waved everyone out of the room without offering up a single word. With anger, Huesfan left first making it known that he was not happy with Zalis. The last one to leave was Callika who took a moment to really look at Zalis before he walked out of the room. After everyone left, Zalis let out a sigh. And now I need to figure out who the hell was brave enough to attempt such a move...

Akor’ketez walked into the main office of Zalis. The crimson and sapphire colored stones that sat upon the white floor and gold outline of windows made the entire room feel as if the place belonged to royalty of some sorts. It also made Zalis stand out with her typical white or black dresses she would wear, much like the black one she wore today. With a few datapads in his arms, he sat down at her desk alongside Fluanern. Zalis sat looking at a few things on a holo-display that was given from Fluanern, all of which seemed to rotate around Huesfan, whom the Twi’lek heard caused another fuss amongst the investors earlier until Zalis shut it down. Carefully setting down the datapads on the desk, he awaited his boss to be ready for him.

“I approve of these two here-” Zalis spoke while pointing directly with her right hand at the holo-display. “But not these three. They’ll cause us a mess and resources that we can’t afford. Muscle and hired guns outside of bounty hunters are beneath us. Let other crime syndicates hold that low life perception.” She looked at Akor’ketez with a smile and turned to face the Bothan. “Although, this poison requires materials that we simply don’t have. We can claim them, but we don’t have the ability to refine them. Get a bulletin up to get a few smugglers hired for the job. Also, you are free to make the posting on Huesfan-but keep it discreet. No ties to us.” She tapped her finger on the holo-displays to close them and then slide them across the table back to Fluanern. As he took them and stood up, she spoke again. “Fluanern,... give Callika one of those gift baskets of weapons from the Midnight Corperation. Offer up an official apology to him. Don’t want to lose him as an investor anytime soon.”

Zalis watched as Fluanern left the room and she turned to Akor’ketez, who was already ready to speak. “Subtle control over the planet - another way to vice grip our position?” Zalis looked down at the datapads and pulled them close to her before she responded. “Yes. Constantly feeding populations like this one makes them dependent upon us. Essentially meaning that taking us out when we are not the majority of the population but responsible for the majority of business means whomever does replaces us needs to continue to feed the large masses the way we’ve been feeding them, or else they watch it die out and become responsible for the death of the entire society.” She let out a heavy breath before she picked up one datapad and observed the details on it.

From the corner of her eyes, she watched Akor’ketez ponder upon her words. She knew he was doing the math, which was simple. Black Sun was only about twenty percent of the population here on Ord Mantell, which was the largest concentration of their employees anywhere. Otherwise Czerka went through normal channels and operated more legit in business avenues, making it far harder for anyone to openly go after them as an ‘evil organization’, especially since Zalis makes them offer up resources for free in recovery efforts like on Corellia. Either way, she didn’t much care for his thoughts on the matter. She knew what she was doing. In order to make Black Sun impossible to destroy and have their legacy endure lightyears, she needed to make such changes.

Looking back at the datapad, she began to really see what was proposed to her in the memos. “How expensive would it be to outfit these Rihkxyrk fighters?” It was a serious question that she knew Akor’ketez held the answer for already. “2k a piece. We have a few supplies being developed for the black market now within our research facility, along with a few upgrades throughout our contacts and independent stations to lower the overall cost. I believe that Midnight Corporation holds some of what we may need, and there would be the flex in price. But we do have a small base on Dubrillion in which we could use as the majority production line, which as you requested things to be- large enough to get the job done, but small enough that no one would notice it.” Zalis pondered upon it for a moment before she came to her own conclusion. “Make it happen. I’m sure we can sell a few, if not deploy them into our own security details.”

Zalis spent the majority of her time pouring over files, updating contacts, removing privileges from old agents and Vigos, along with checking on reports from all over the networks she had spent years and months pouring into. Every so often she would come across a contact or report that held Delta’s name in it and she would feel a slight ping of sadness from not having him around anymore. But she also understood the reasoning and need for him to be elsewhere. With the way Black Sun had grown and evolved into what it is now, he had slowly become irrelevant to the organization. For some reason, she knew that memories of their time together would always bring up emotions that she would rather not deal with.

All of the reports showed promise of what she wanted, which was movement and progression on the fronts of establishing small pockets of communities where the crime would thrive through making the weaker and poorer parts codependent upon the top dogs holding them down, but providing just enough to keep them begging to get what they can. It was a system that while others may deem it cruel, was very much business like in every aspect. She deployed typical business practices used to keep her own company growing, yet climbing and making the others around it dependent upon the success of her own. It was a very useful skill to employ and use, even more so with pockets of society that she could easily help establish a dependency upon what she was offering. Spice, Vice, credits and fame were the things that drove people towards Black Sun, and it was within those elements that she bound a tight grip upon the galaxy. Too spread out to actively hunt or go to war with, yet too intertwined everywhere to ignore. Black Sun was now fully what she always wanted - a weed that grew everywhere with no real use of attempting to rid yourself of it, only pruning what you could.

Akor’ketez walked into her office and held up a datapad. His movement was quick and with some excitement. His voice also carried with it that small hint of excitement. “Ma’am, Dubrillion has received its first shipment of supplies and is looking to get started on the adjustments that you requested. Huarl is requesting that join the shipments of Rihkxyrk fighters though, as a way of making sure that everything is also up to par…” Zalis looked at him as he was clearly letting his words hang for a reason. “...And this is not for the excitement that is within your voice. What else?” Akor’ketez sat down in a chair across from her desk and placed the datapad in front of her. “Dantooine and Iridonia have made requests for Czerka to open up a shop within their trading ports. Well, Dantooine only requested in Garang, while Iridonia has asked for a hub in all major ports.”

Zalis took such information and leaned back in her chair. If she was to open hubs in such locations, she would need more materials from the contacts on the other side of the galaxy. It would also be a danger going through both Rebellion and Sith Empire space to retrieve such equipment. Looking up at the grand ceiling of her office and contemplated for a moment. “I’ll leave with the ships tonight. Post bulletin requesting for smugglers. We’re going to need to dive further into that employment field if we are to better sustain this operation. I’ll send you the details on what we’re looking for. Thank you Akor’ketez for your help.”

Zalis packed herself and was onboard her own ship, the Supremacy, escorting the carrier ships transporting the eight Rihkxyrk fighters to Dubrillion within less than three hours.

The air that came rushing into the Supremacy in the private hangar for Zalis was something refreshing and almost disarming for her. Ord Mantell was home to her, and she really couldn't explain it. The Black Sun empire had found its roots here and opened up many doors for her to expand Czerka and HealthiDrive. Even as she walked down the ramp, she could sense that her empire she had created was welcoming her with open arms. At the bottom of the ramp waited Fluanern, who gave both her and Ve a bow as they reached the bottom of the ramp.

“Ma’dam, Titan has been operating at full capacity and has requested a few more additional staff to help run some of the more daily operations. More specifically they want for you to lift the hiring freeze.” Zalis almost rolled her eyes as she kept walking towards the main facility. Fluanern and Ve followed behind her without missing a step. “Of course they do. They won’t get it. The freeze is a business bureau issued mandate, and we don’t have anywhere near enough chips to play that type of hand. Send a small crew from the casinos and gambling pits here to work the ship. For now, I need to have 10,000 kilos of Yarrock that needs to be cleaned, slated and processed for delivery to HealthiDrive. It’s a top priority. I don’t want the Alliance or anyone else snooping around and finding a reason to shut down the entire operation.”

Fluarnern quickly pulled out a comlink and sent word to staff to get the Supremacy unloaded and prepared for it’s next adventure, whatever it may be. As the trio entered the building, she turned towards Fluarnern. “Get Ve here up to date on protocol and give him clearance. Then send him to my office.” Zalis then broke off from the two and headed towards her office while the others went to get the rest of what she requested done. She quickly found her chair and sunk into it, letting the weight of everything that transpired on Outer Haven slowly sink in. The moment to process it went quickly, as about forty seconds later her console beeped at her, letting her know that Akor’ketez was calling.

She sat upright and repositioned herself before accepting the call. “Yes?” “Zalis, the request has come in officially from Fluarnern for a massive load of spice to be taken in by HealthiDrive. They do not have the storage space for it... “ Zalis let out a heavy sigh. “Well, they’re going to have to find a way to utilize it. I got stuck with it after a quick trip to Outer Haven went sour.” The Twi’lek on the other end raised his eyebrow. “Yes, the Holonet is buzzing with what just transpired on Outer Haven.“Mamoi made a bold move and undercut us. I’m pretty sure she got a tip that the Alliance was planning on striking there and took the opportunity to remove competition. Although I don’t have the proof to even begin to pin her for it.” There was a slight smile from her top Vigo. “An idea for you Ma’am. The Bounty Hunters guild is looking for some backing and a place to get a fresh start… “

Zalis leaned back in her chair and pondered the situation for a moment. The idea was a bold one in return for the bold move made against her. And the main ports of Malidris would be a strong suit for many travelers and a way to really bolster up income across the board. She wondered for a moment if the business bureau cooperation would have any objections to the expansion there. But seeing as she wouldn’t be actually hiring anything new, just taking over… ”Gather them to you. I’ll help personally deliver everything to you on Taris. From there, the scheme of ours can really get failproof.”

It had been a really long time since Zalis had even stepped foot on the Capital planet for Black Sun, yet even as she inhaled the air, it reminded her more of home. Between Ord Mantell and Titan, the two were her safe places. The spots she could go to without any worry of something happening that was outside of her control. And even if something did happen outside of her control, it was always profitable or beyond irrelevant that it matter not. She took a moment to observe the landing pad designated for Vigos and others of alike status. Fluanern stood at the other end, awaiting the Queen of Vice to make her way over. She stood in her black uniform, choosing instead to remain within a business state, even though she had long since been given permission to dress up or down. A complete opposite to what Zalis wore, black boots and jacket over a white dress.

Her movement across the landing pad was more sluggish due to the amount of traveling she had been doing recently. Fluanern gave a small nod and turned to match pace with Zalis into Black Castle. "Local area has been running smoothly, no hiccups. And word has it that Iridonia has settled in nicely, beginning to adapt to the culture there along with filtering in some of the spice there. Bounty Hunter Guild is also fully up and reporting to us as requested." She turned to acknowledge the woman before stepping into the turbo lift. Upon it closing is when Zalis spoke up.

"Less concerned with those avenues Fluanern. I suspected the guild would re-establish upon given the right circumstances. Right now, I want to know what's happening out with our contracts we offered up..." Zalis turned and looked the other woman in the eyes. Her own blue eyes as cold as ice locking with the emerald green of the trusted Vigo. "... We can't afford for anything to go wrong on that end..." The other woman shrugged her shoulders simultaneously with the turbolift doors opening to Zalis's office. The two stepped out together, Zalis making for her chair, while Fluanern headed to a chair directly opposite. "Unfortunately contact is limited. And the facility is so closed off that we can't really see movement or progress..." The words had Zalis close her eyes and think for a moment. They needed something special to distract them from the potential of disaster at the whim of the Crime Families.

"When was the last time we threw a party here?..."

Her eyes darted from her holopad to Fluanern and back and forth a few times as she hesitated to even pick up the call, and it was on her public access server, so it made the choice rather annoying. To her surprise, Fluanern simply gave a smile and then stood up, tilting her heads towards the incoming call and then excused herself. She hesitated a second longer, acknowledging within her own mind the thought that her faith in promoting Vigo's was becoming on point. With a small smile, she allowed for the call to come through. The Quarren on the other side was formal and addressed her as an equal, but used language that suggested he wasn't. It threw her off for a moment. In her own mind it felt like a week had passed before she could even respond.

He spoke on the right things though, as the state the galaxy was now entering with the events of Nar Shaddaa unfolding made for a perfect storm for local crime to rise. Bigger organizations could also rise, if they played their hands right. Too much of a noticeable movement would draw unwanted attention. She leaned back and gave a face of narrowed eyes and slightly smile. "Very well. I can meet you at the Regnant Casino House. There is a private room there. Ask for the Vice room. I'll meet your crew there within the next fifteen minutes." She then cut the transmission. She would need to get dressed to host, even though it wasn't her building. But on Ord Mantell, the way of Black Sun ruled strongly and was beyond embedded into the culture, it was now customary for her to show her best.

Zalis stepped out of the speeder that brought her to the casino and offered up a smile to the owner, who greeted her at the door. "Lady Zalis, I'm so glad that you would choose our location to host your business." She offered up a slight curtsy as a formal greeting. Her black dress with a navy blue cape on the back almost made her stand out amongst the white and golden colors used for the Regnant Casino. The owner, a Twi'lek male turned and escorted her in the main doors. As they walked through, he snapped his fingers at someone. "The Vice room has been prepared and your guests have already been escorted inside." A waiter quickly joined them, offering up a glass of Chandrillia whiskey for Zalis, to which she took without any hesitation. "Thank you Junal. Your standards really do amplify the city of Worlport heavily." He gave her a bow in return and then left her at the main door of the Vice room before turning around to tend to the others within his facility.

Zalis eyed the three who were already within the room. Her eyes darted at all of them, narrowing ever so slightly. She didn't acknowledge them verbally yet, but instead choose to sit down in her chair that she always used for this establishment. Upon sitting down and getting comfortable, she turned towards the three. She spoke directly with the Quarren the last time, but he said he worked with others. She hesitated for a quick moment before finally speaking. "You addressed me as if I should know you on your call- but I don't. Two of you hold a body posture of being annoyed. My only guess is it's due to me not meeting with you at Sandorne Palace. Which places you as people who know me by reputation only. A very bold move to connect directly with me, but time will tell if it will serve you or not."

Zalis let her words sink in by taking some time to drink her whiskey provided to her by the Casino owner. After she put some of it down, she shifted slightly in her chair and raised her eyebrows. "Now is the time to make your next move and see if your boldness pays off..."

The intent of the meeting was laid out rather quickly. The gungan before Zalis was one of cunning moves and big dreams. She could tell as he leaned in to speak, long before he even laid out his plan to her. She took a drink of her own Chandrillia whiskey, almost emptying the entire glass with one drink as she looked over the map that the Gungan displayed for her. Yes, his plans are ambitious indeed. Yet, they are not without flaws. She looked him over as he talked some more, clearly offering up a drink to her. She decided to not show any hesitation and poured the drink offered into her glass before leaning back in her own chair now that Greensnout was finished. Her eyes looked him over again, along with everyone within his party.

"Ambitious to say the least. But you clearly don't have a hold on the state of things within Black Sun." She took a sip from her glass and then leaned in. "Former glory is irreverent by now. Only future and new glory is what matters. And Black Sun is thriving in far more ways than its former self." She now leaned back and took another sip before continuing. "Czerka has become the front that draws attention. It's by this point, untouchable by any government without true cause. Spanning shops from Taris to Corellia and beyond. Black Sun holds major hubs on Dubrillion and Ord Mantell, yet still holds smaller trade outposts on Tatooine, Onderon, Dantooine and yes, even within it's fragile state, Nar Shaddaa. The Bounty Hunter's guild has resurfaced under the help of Czerka and Black Sun on Iridonia..."

Taking yet another sip from her glass, she set it down on the table and leaned in yet again. Her eyes locked with Greensnout. "But I am not blind or stupid. The need to capitalize upon the current state is something of great value. Piracy is good for business... sometimes." Her voice lowered a bit, yet not too much so that the Gungan wouldn't hear her. "Eyes have been set upon areas of great value to Black Sun. But piracy without a funnel and a command destroys chances for legitimate business and growth. And placing such funnels and command structures would no longer make you a pirate." She leaned back again in her chair. "That would make you more of a warlord of sorts."

She now wondered if she would even be able to exert such control over a sector like that. Granted, by some default, she already had. But how long until the new political system wanted to show it's forceful hand like they did at Outer Haven? Maybe setting up a few warlords of sorts would be good to keep egotistical eyes off of her. But could this Gungan do it? She'd have to test him first. For now, she was curious if he had anything else to add to what she spoke.

There was a slow lean back into her chair as she fully understood what was on the table. A golden opportunity as it were, a chance to push another into the fray without risking anything herself. But still, could she even trust this crew? She took a long moment to stare down the crew as she deliberated within her own mind what sort of thing was she getting into. After a good two minutes of silence, which may have been awkward for the crew, Zalis finally leaned in again.

"A test then. A chance to prove your skill which could then be like falling stones that begin an avalanche." She then pointed on the holodisplay map that was still up from the Gungan captain. Her hand slowly moved over each planet as she spoke of them. "Kessel has long since been a resource of Spice, that of which is used across the galaxy. Other hubs such as Iridonia provide a version of it which can be used, but the main source has been cut off by the forces of power that be. The events around Nar Shaddaa recently have unfolded into a vacuum like state, which means some borders are more exposed then others. Kessel being the primary one."

Zalis now leaned back again within her chair, but this time did not sit all the way back, allowing for her own posture to indicate that she was offering up the final deal. "There is a Spice worker under contract at Kessel still who has indicated to us that he may have a fairly large shipment for us to sneak out. While not piracy, it's still a job that needs to get done. However, to spice up this test for you. Three days after the pickup of this Spice... there is a Kolto shipment we learned is being taken to Onderon. We need it. This is your piracy act. Take that Kolto and deliver it to me. Any other plunder you find along that way is yours, and along with a handsome payment fee, we can enter into a full and final draft of this scheme working out."

She moved her glass to allow for another pour of whatever drink he continued to consume. Upon the toast, she gave a small nod and drank what was before her. Whatever partnership this would become, it would be profitable for her regardless. As she finished her drink, Junal the male Twi'lek owner of the establishment walked into the room and leaned down to address her quietly. "Ma'am, the others have arrived and are waiting upon you." Zalis simply shuffled herself to sit more direct to the Twi'lek.

"Go ahead and pour everyone Prow as they wait. Put it on my tab Junal." The blue skinned owner slowly bowed his head and withdrew from the room. Without adjusting her seating to turn back to the Gungan, she addressed him. "Beware on both of these. While the shift of power is slowly happening, Kessel is still fragile. I have no idea of how much patrolling is being done in that sector. And while not as valuable as Bacta, Kolto is still somewhat monitored by... controlling factions. But both of these items are needed regardless."

She now stood up from her seat and adjusted her navy cloak to sit just right again. "Use either Dubrillion or outpost 102 here for your drop off." She went to step out of the private room but paused for a single moment at the door. "Good luck." Upon finishing her words, she left the Vice room. Her attention was quickly turned towards what was next, which was more local owners seeking out a meeting to discuss different protocols and other boring stuff. She always willingly went to them though, simply because she had somehow created a culture that was beyond dependent upon Black Sun and the activity they brought to the planet.

  • 1 month later...

Through the course of a few days, Zalis found herself meeting with almost every local owner of some establishment within the city of Worlport. Everyone seemed to be in high spirits and eager for the coming influx of more foot traffic with some of the events that were being put on to draw crowds. Many of the events centered around big time gamblers and pleasure seekers, yet held a strong pull for those who operated on the black market. Many of the owners she found knew Black Sun was heavily profiting from such events, but didn't seem to mind or care, as it also greatly helped them. In fact, many of them flat out told her they wanted her to continue is generating influx for their businesses. It made her feel slightly proud at the fact that she was doing something that both made a profit for her, but others also enjoyed what she was doing. But there was a small part that wondered what sort of mini empire it was creating, and how long before some idiot thought it would be a good idea to dismantle it.

She was pondering much of this within her own private room in Sandorne Palace, otherwise known to most as Black Castle, when a beeping began to signal to her. She knew from the sound that it was the main office calling into her room. She went to a wall panel and opened the channel. "Go ahead." There was a slight pause, the new attendant was slowly still learning the job since she let the other girl go, as she just didn't grasp everything the job entailed. This new guy, Suguril understood what was involved in the job, but held a massive learning curve in some of the tech. "...Umm... Wess Zis has expressed that Tor Blatheuld is excited to meet you at the fundraiser Gala in a week... Umm... he inquired if you would wear... the Hanna dress?" The lack of understanding made Zalis offer up a laugh to herself, but she was sure that Suguril heard her.

"You may send a reply that I will wear his favorite dress to show off at the Gala, so long as he buys me a new one, or atleast connects me with a designer. Is that all?" She waited and heard some movement, as clearly the next thing he had to say he understood carried some more weight to it. "Yes ma'am. Kivro and Graak have requested your presence on Thalassia in the next four days..." She fully paused as she held out the dress that Wess had requested her wear from her closet. So... the Pykes and Crimson Dawn have decided that now is the time to act...

The thought had her narrow her eyes as she thought more carefully upon what exactly her next move should be. The thoughts were slightly interrupted by the sound of Suguril on the other end making a sound to let her know that he was still awaiting her response. "Thank Suguril. Let Fluanern and Akor’ketez know of this development. I will conference call with them on my ship. I'm headed out to Chandrillia for the Gala being hosted. Also- have Ve meet me at my ship. Thank you." She walked up to the wall panel and shut the line off. This was indeed worth her time to plan out some more and be prepared for offensive action if needed.

Fluanern was a bit annoyed when the call came in from the Quarren, as they have refused to use the security personnel offered to them by Black Sun. But as apart of what Zalis assigned to her, she did need to maintain the peace and offer up some sort of remedies to situations that held potential to become a loss for the company. And because of that, she now unfortunately had to step into Violet Caprice, the larger of the casinos in the casino district. This one had already built up the reputation within Black Sun as being on the rebellious side. Zalis had worked hard to maintain a lot of the overall owners into positions to help feed the machine in order to build their own base, to which was successful for the most part. Some resisted, as was expected. But this one rebelled in smaller ways that they managed to never fall within the cutoff line, but still reaped rewards from being associated with Black Sun.

Even as she walked through the door, the large event that was designed to attract all sorts of gamblers to the planet was already in full swing here at Violet Caprice. Because of it, neither her, nor the owner wanted her to be seen dealing with anything, so there was a Rodian waiting for her who quickly escorted her to a back room where the Quarren was waiting, and opened a door for her to step into. Upon entering, she saw a woman of about the 20-30 age range, dark hair much like her own. Blood was dripping from her mouth from the small enforcer crews own form of justice. The girl reminded her of herself almost immediately, to which she was made a Vigo through the fact that Zalis aw herself at times in Fluanern.

"So this is your problem?" She made the question sound insulting as she raised an eyebrow and looked back at the enforcer crew, almost begging for them to explain the situation in full.

Fluanern glanced for a moment only at the datapad before returning her eyes back to the young woman. "Ego is the damage then." Her own annoyance with the Quarren just as apparent as his towards her was. She knew that Zalis maintained a certain level of 'appearance' when it came to favoritism within the ranks of the local owners, all of which she did have a list that she knew to maintain. However, the Violet Caprice was one of those establishments were not on such a list. They were in fact one that Zalis wanted to be watched more carefully for signs of rebellion. The tournament was not special to this establishment alone, but was the only one that refused Black Sun security.

She took a step in closer to the girl and both leaned in and squatted at the same time. She took a full long minute to study her. After there was clear discomfort from both the girl and the crew in with her, Fluanern stood back up. "You'll declare the winnings are a tribute to Black Sun. I will expect the funds in our account by tomorrow morning due to disturbing me on a night that your boss should have secured in advance, like every other facility did." WIthout letting any other complaints arise, she turned and moved towards the door. "Release her, she is spending the rest of the night at Sandorne Palace under the watch of Black Sun." She then turned to face the Quarren directly. "She can keep 12 percent of her winnings. Fetch them for me and have the girl in my speeder in five minutes."

Without waiting for a reply, she stepped out of the room and walked herself back to her speeder, which was waiting just outside the Violet Caprice, along with her driver. She climbed and and spoke to the driver, a young Bothan male. "We're taking one more with us. When she gets in, we're headed back to Sandorne."

"Move" There wasn't any hesitation upon the girl getting into the speeder. As the Bothan drove them away and the girl asked her question, the older of the two women turned her head ever so slightly with an eyebrow raised. "You are within this speeder for two reasons." She adjusted herself to sit to be facing the girl. As she spoke, she did so while looking past the girl and not directly at her.  "First off, talent is hard to come by. Even though the Violet Caprice doesn't have the top class of security by any means, you did manage to get in and secure some winnings." Fluanern made no attempt to even hide her disgust at the place. "With some training, you could easily help move our organization forward." Her voice suggested that it may be a lot of work to get her to a decent level. There was a slight pause for a moment. The girl would doubtfully understand the truth in why she was kept, and the Vigo knew such answers may never be revealed until a much later date.

Shifting again, she turned to face forward. "The second reason is Bollils Vapet, the Muun who owns the Violet Caprice. He's been a slight irritant to Black Sun recently. You walking away both is revenge and a slap in his face." A smile came to her own face as she thought of the Muun's face when he realized what had just happened to him under his nose. She turned to look at the girl again. "You exposed something he was warned about. And the more elevation I give you, the more he'll squirm.

Even as her words came out, Fluanern turned and raised both eyebrows at the girl in utter disapproval of the notion. She must have caught on, as the silence that followed the unfinished question. As the girl rambled on for a bit, the Vigo held in more annoyance at the very fact she was underselling herself. But as she finally got around to striking the real question that she danced around for a bit, Fluanern turned to directly look at her. Upon her finishing, she turned her head and looked back forward.

"First off, don't sell yourself short. Zalis herself used her good looks, slender frame and just an overall eye candy only appearance to work as an assassin. It's what got her into Black Sun at first." She turned for a moment to look at the girl. "Her discontentment with the status quo and being held back is what moved her forward enough to be the head." She then turned back to see a turn coming up as the speeder came into the final stretch of road to only have Sandorne palace stand in full view.

"And no. You are no killer. We don't need that from you and I wouldn't waste my time with someone who could just as easily work up the ladder normally." The speeder came to a full stop, and Fluanern wasted no time in opening her own door and stepping out. Upon the girl taking her own step out into the main speeder hangar of the palace is when she opted to finish the sentence. "You're very useful as what you are... a distraction." Her eyes raised just slightly as she looked upon the girl.
