BACKGROUND:

10,000 years ago, Frond was just like any other Neti spore; released into the cosmos to drift until he found a place to take root, grow, and establish himself. After drifting for century after century through the cold emptiness of space, as fate would have it, his miniscule spore was snagged in a trail of a passing ship and sent tumbling, as violently as a spore could tumble, into the atmosphere of Kashyyyk where he slowly drifted down into the canopy, nestled amongst the foliage. As years passed, and the wroshyr trees grew taller and taller and the wookiees began to make a civilization for themselves the small spore found its way to the soil of the fertile planet. There, with rain, sunlight, and nourishment the seed spore took root and from it slowly sprung the Neti known simply as Frond.

As a young sapling, Frond found himself, like many young creatures, drawn to explore. Hitching rides on some of the earliest ships leaving the planet he spent a century or more jaunting about the universe, learning all that he could. It was during this time that he met many who could commune with him and with the world around them as he could using The Force. Frond became enamored with The Force and sought out scrolls, relics and knowledge on it. Eventually, Frond fell in with a group of ragtag force users who titles themselves the Mind Walkers. From them, Frond learned how to disconnect himself from his mortal body and walk beyond shadows in another realm ruled solely by the force. Under the direction of a former Jedi Trylin Ka, Frond learned to grasp at the force, allowing it to speak to him even when in his mortal body. Eventually, Ka and other members of shorter lived species passed on and became one with the force, either through age or from walking in the shadows beyond for too long and rejecting their mortal body. It did not matter though, there were always more coming and dedicating themselves to the ways of the Force and walking in the shadows beyond, discovering things about the future, communing with those from the past, and guarding the fonts of the dark and light sides of The Force, as well as the many other mysteries offered in the shadows beyond.

Having studied with his brethren for over 500 years, Frond decided to return to the world he had spawned upon, Kashyyyk and to live out his existence in the rich soil and sunlight where he could exist unhindered as he spent centuries walking the shadows beyond and learning about The Force. Planted firmly in the Kashyyyk soil, Frond only came back to his mortal form every few centuries to uproot himself and move to a spot where sunlight still trickled down on him from between the huge Wroshyr trees.

On Kashyyyk, Frond awoke and joined several force users in defeating Calmin Ayion before proceeding onwards to attend the funeral of Grandmaster Kirlocca. From there, Frond felt called out into the galaxy, beckoned by The Force to first accompany a Jedi to Mandalore in search of her long lost brother and then to the jedi Temple on Felucia where he joined the ranks of the Jedi. He felt called to bring the balance back to The Force as the dark side surged across the galaxy. The ancient tree-like plant began training under the young Jedi Knight Sandy Sarna alongside the Kel Dor Kel Koon. Together, kel and Frond seemed to get themselves into enough trouble, wandering off on their own and confronting dark side entities and rancors and even finding their fabled lightsaber crystals together on the planet Ilum. On Garn, Frond nearly died after becoming stranded there following a confrontation with Nok Morliss trying to prevent the up and coming Sith from collecting and weaponizing soul gems.

Frond has taken several other players mind walking and during one of these instances engaged in a confrontation wherein he was confronted by both fonts of light and dark side energy with a seed that had been immersed in the dark side returning to the mortal plain with he and his companion. It was with this seed and his crystals gathered at Ilum that he crafted his first lightsaber, forming the hilt and working from his own wooden force-imdued body. Carrying such a dark side attuned weapon in his body, Frond was slowly corrupted to the numbing effects of the dark side until he was confronted by a team of both Jedi and Imperial Knights. His weapon was destroyed and the nexus of dark side energy purged, leaving Frond questioning but cemented deeper in his warped views of the force; that it needed balanced, but that the mortal world was of little worth. After undergoing Jedi healing at the hands of a Jedi naturalist, Frond set out into the wilds of Ossus to return to wandering the mind, mind walking and disconnecting himself from the real world.

Having repeated visions of destruction based around Nar Shaddaa, Frond pulled himself from his blissful stupor and made his way to the world where he planted himself. There he quietly served the people of the moon, the displaced migrants and refugees and people pained by the war through no choice of their own but one to not submit their lives to the machinations of evil wrought by the Sith Empire.

  • 1 year later...

A combination of Black Mold and Yoda coalesced into one single sentient plant, a cold heavily shrouded aftermath of a blizzard awaiting the lightest breeze to call forth the maelstrom.

Frond is a 5,294 year old plant-based being called a Neti; so rare in the universe that they are thought to be extinct if not nothing more than a myth or legend. The Neti hail originally from Myrkr; yes the home of the ysalimiri. Frond, however, has never been there. He was a spore that drifted in space, eventually he found root and sprang to life. All Neti are force sensitive. Frond quickly found a home amongst the Mindwalkers of The Maw. Unlike his fellow organic beings, Frond could, as a Neti, enter into a trancelike state and stay that way, unmoving for centuries, allowing him to probe the deepest and darkest regions of the Force realm known simply as ‘Beyond Shadows.’ Frond quickly outlived his mentors and masters within the Mindwalkers. Anyone that Frond helped train has long since faded into obscurity. After some time, Frond left his brethren in The Maw and set out to find places amongst the galaxy to commune with the force and walk beyond shadows, communing with his brethren and the force itself. Still, Frond never did learn how to manipulate the force on a physical level. He was content to commune with the force, allowing it to speak to him as it would; glimpsing into the future, especially as he strolled amongst the realm beyond shadows, staring into the pools.

Frond believes, true or not, that the mortal world is nothing more than a figment of everyone’s imagination and that those who are not attuned to the force are nothing more than pawns or figments of that falsehood perpetuated on the galaxy. Still, it is the figmented world that the force has designated he and other force users to live in; the only true lights in the darkness. Sadly, Frond and his fellow Mindwalkers realize that most other force users are misguided in their understandings of the force. For eons, Frond was content to sit idly by and allow the will of the force to take its own course.

Recently, Frond has felt stirred by the force, and the surging imbalance within it, to action. With the dark side of the force surging and seeping across the galaxy, the users of the darkness continued to throw the balance of the force out of whack. Sensing the desire of the force to return to balance before sweeping clear the entirety of the figmented reality they existed in, Frond set out guided by the force to the Jedi, the bastions of the light side.

Frond does not ascribe to the beliefs of the Jedi; but he knows that they are the longest standing protectors of the light; used as tools to bring the side of light into balance. As such, Frond is not opposed to the use of either the dark or light side of the force; however, he does not want to risk tipping the balance any further and as such ascribed to total dedication to the light. Should that balance sway the other direction, Frond would undoubtedly switch sides in an effort to help bring balance and stability to the ever swinging pendulum of the force.

Frond believes right or wrong, that nothing matters besides bringing balance to the force. The best way, in his opinion, to bring that balance, is to strike down whoever imbalances the force until a balance is achieved if that individual is not willing to change their ways. For any who are seeking the truth, Frond is more than willing to share all that he knows, albeit in his strange twisted Basic. Anything to return the balance to the force, from murder to training of new lightsiders, Frond is open to either or anything else. In truth, Frond would like nothing better than to return to his contemplations and forget the false world that all around him are seemingly so entrenched in; but he feels called to do his part to return balance to the force by any means necessary.

Frond’s Mindwalker Code:

“There is none but the force. I am but a disciple of the force.

Those who seek to bend the force are still but vessels of its will.

The will of the force will right all wrongs.

The force guides all, but each is free to choose right from wrong.

All knowledge and power is of the force.

The force is life. The force is death.

The Jedi Code:

There is no emotion, there is peace.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

There is no chaos, there is harmony.

There is no death, there is the force.

The Je'daii Code:

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

There is no fear, there is power.

I am the heart of the Force.

I am the revealing fire of light.

I am the mystery of darkness.

In balance with chaos and harmony,

Immortal in the Force.

Frond is a Jedi in training, but he is not a Jedi, nor does he have any desire to become a Jedi or ascribe to their tenants. Frond is no longer a Mindwalker; he has progressed beyond the tenants of that order, even though he desires to return to their pacifist ways.
