Aryian vs. Kirlocca - Dark Hologram Fun World

Recommended Posts

((3 posts apiece, two setup posts. Aryian has first post. Judge to be determined.

Setting and background: Faust has framed Aryian for several brutal murders, including a few Jedi. Given Aryian's track record with the Sith, The Jedi fully believe that Aryian is responsible and has fallen back to the Dark Side, determined to capture him or put him down and ascertain the truth. They have sent Kirlocca in for this task. Aryian, meanwhile, has tracked Faust to Hologram Fun World, where he finds the park abandoned and malfunctioning, littered with corpses and forensic evidence suggesting Aryian was the one behind the massacre. Not having time to deal with Kirlocca and the Jedi, he makes the hard choice to resist arrest if he has any chance of finally stopping Faust's madness once and for all.))

The air stank. It was the first thing Aryian noticed as he stepped out of his ship, entering the amusement park, a feeling of dread welling up within him as he hadn't seen a single person in the walk to the front gate. Not to mention, where there was supposed to be someone selling tickets, there was merely a spray of blood on the back wall. As he entered the park, his heart sank, a small child had been all but torn in half, their blood used to paint a large "ARYIAN WUZ HERE" on the nearby wall. A dark air hung over the child's corpse, it was obvious the Dark Side had been used to telekinetic ally rip the child apart. Resisting the urge to vomit, Aryian reached out, closing the child's eyelids with the Force, avoiding looking at the horrified expression on the small face. Grimly, he continued walking, unhooking his tonfa-style sabers and keeping them in his hands as he kept his senses sharp and his wits about him. He felt it, Faust was either still here or had just left.

Slowly, Aryian wound his way deeper and deeper into the maze of rides and trinket stores, looking for more clues of Faust's whereabouts.

Kirlocca landed his Owool fighter upon a landing pad at the Hologram Fun World. He was here for a single purpose; To bring Aryian Darkfire back to justice. As he climbed out of his starfighter, he checked his lightsaber hilt that was sitting upon his ammo belt. He had come straight from Kashyyyk upon the request of Onderin Starlisk to find Aryian. Kirlocca was still in his exile, somewhat self imposed, but the the other hand would have been a bit more demeaning to the Wookiee. But being exiled out, he was able to check Aryian without any restraint. If that was what Onderin was going for or not was yet to be determined. For now, he would do as asked and find Aryian first and foremost. What came of it then would come of it.

Even as the Wookiee walked the landing pad and inner workings of the entrance, Kirlocca was meet with displays that would render even the most battle worn warriors into tears. Blood and limbs were everywhere, huge blood splatters upon the wall with words barely readable. It was clear to Kirlocca that the Dark Side was recently used within the room. But what made it even worse, the presence that was heavy was not Aryian's. Granted his friends presence was a lingering sense within the room, but it was not the driving force. Which for Kirlocca meant that it meant Aryian was not working alone, or it could be worse. Seeing no point in hiding himself, Kirlocca allowed for his presence to fill up the Force. He was exiled and almost everyone still in touch with the galaxy knew it. Which would mean for Aryian and anyone else that could feel his presence that there was a new factor that they may not have thought of dealing with, as he was no longer a Jedi...

Several times the walkways split, but Aryian kept walking towards the one that took him nearer to the center of the theme park. The entire place looked as if it had been through war, half of the paths bubbly and chirping with holographic birds, the other half a row of emitters that were sparking and fizzing, destroyed by raw, brutal acts of telekinesis.

"Hel-lo. Master Dark-fire."

Aryian spun at the sound, lightsabers igniting in a fiery snap-hiss, the orage blades ominously illuminating his face. He was met only by a hologram, and after a deep breath, lowered his blades. Obviously this hologram was malfunctioning, half its head was a block of static, its left eye staring creepily in a reprogrammed stare of horror. As it spoke, it sounded like it was piecing together sound bites from the things it was normally programmed to speak, resulting in a stuttering speech with odd pauses and tonal emphases.

"Master...Dark-fire. Welcome to Hologram Fun World! I hope you enjoy your stay. I hope you-dieee. You have...pur-sued me this...far...but now, it's your turn! You have...thirty...min-utes...to save...the people-that are left. But be...careful! Hazards located throughout the park are marked with...bod-ies. And not...everyone here...is...friendly. So please! Wander the paths, see the sights, and take in the unique views from across the galaxy that can only be found here, at Hologram Fun World! You'll have so much fun, you'll tell your friends it's to...dieeee..for..."

Meanwhile, not far behind, another hologram appeared before Kirlocca, this time a female Twi'lekk, however the hologram was warped to render her head at an odd angle, snapped back over her spine. She faced away from the Wookiee, but by the same measure, her head was actually facing him.

"Welcome, Master Kir-lock-AAA...do you...like what...I...have-done...with the place? You were...a-good Master...but now the...time...has come to-AbandOON the...Light. Join us down at Jerry's Meckerfish Fry just down the trail for the best...f-ight...of your life! I'll make...Coruscant...look like-nothing!"

After the message was delivered, a small explosive went off nearby, destroying the hologram emitter, ruining any chance of tracing the broadcast point from the computer. Obviously it referenced the events of Coruscant two months ago, where Aryian was implicated in the bombing of two public transports. Forensics found trace amounts of his dna in the wreckage, as well as a well-known type of shrapnel that was only produced on Mechis III. It was then that CORESEC decided to put out a warrant for his arrest, though the Jedi had declined to get involved until two weeks ago, when a holovid recording from a public library on Corellia surfaced, showing the Grey Master butchering everyone inside, including two Jedi who happened to be nearby on a mission and in the area.

Meanwhile, Aryian had deactivated his sabers, cautiously walking the path ahead of him. Ahead on his left was a small themedrestaurant, looking to be a fish fry booth specializing in Mon Calamari cuisine. On the right, however, was a medium-sized building that had "COME INSIDE" written on the side, again in blood. At the least, Faust had a small imagination when it came to painting signs. Slowly, Aryian entered, finding the structure to be filled with mirrors, some holographic, some real. Sighing, he entered, slowly walking through the maze. This was about to get interesting, and fast...and not in a good way. That was when he felt the other person here, a strong presence, but there was too much darkness clouding his senses to be able to tell who or where it was for certain. Still, it had a twinge of light to it, which meant it was either backup, or the Jedi had finally tracked him down.

The mess that was slowly laying out before Kirlocca had turned from a fading light to darkness rather quickly. The world that he had entered seemed to become an ethereal place full of mirrors and holograms, creating whatever sights that someone wished to see, yet granting nothing to the Wookiee. Carefully, Kirlocca kept his calm demeanor about himself allowing for his silver lightsaber to remain deactivated. For now, he would focus upon the beaming blip within the Force that was Aryian Darkfire. So he pushed on, ignoring all holograms and mirrors, trusting upon the Force to get him to where he would need to go and to tell him what was real and what was not. Even as he walked towards where he could feel out Aryian, mirrors and holograms seemed to taunt him in vain. Every now and then, Kirlocca would toss a slide glance towards one, just to see a face if he could of whom was responsible for the taunt, but it always turned up vain. Part of him felt bad for not going to investigate, as that was partially why he was sent in by Onderin. But over all, Kirlocca didn't feel like it was needed. With Aryian Darkfire, things were never as they seemed, even when you got confirmation.

Turning a corner, Kirlocca could feel Aryian a bit more strongly. There was a pause within him. The pause was enough for Kirlocca to pause himself before turning the corner. Lightsaber hilt still within his paw deactivated, Kirlocca stood and looked down Aryian. Whether it was actually Aryian or not, Kirlocca could not tell, but the Force seemed to urge him as if it was. Looking upon his old friend, Kirlocca had not seen the man since he defeated him at Gala and exiled him on Kashyyyk. Ironically, Kashyyyk was the same place Kirlocca exiled himself to and the very same house he laid Aryian. Letting out a long sigh, Kirlocca finally broke his eye connection with Aryian.

<< What are we doing Aryian? We're both getting too old for this shit. >>

Aryian continued to look around, not threatened by the Wookiee, as Kirlocca was his mentor and friend. His senses were heightened, however, but his eyes continued to wander elsewhere.

"A curious question. I'm here to catch a killer and put my name back in the good graces where it was. Whether or not he's still here, however...is a very hard thing...to determine."

A sudden trickle in the Force was all that set Aryian's senses off as he rounded another corner, catching a brief glimpse of yet another child, their face mutilated in a glasgow smile, a blinking device poking through the corpse's chest. The Grey Master wasn't fast enough to physically stop himself, and as his foot fell, he heard a faint click. Immediately he dropped down to one knee with forearm protecting his face, the Force surging like a tidal wave as his Force shield manifested almost visibly, the same time the explosive went off. Most of the building was obliterated in the blast, save for a large arc that had protected both him and Kirlocca, deflecting all but the concussive sound. Ears ringing, Aryian dropped the shield, disgustedly hopping down onto the rubble, surveying it for a moment before talking over his shoulder.

"And you're here to bring me back to the Jedi. You're the only logical choice. You taught me, and you defeated...well...a part of me. Once. At least that's what the council thinks, hmm? But I'm not going back, not yet. The Jedi can think what they want, you can think what you want. Nothing's going to stop me until I bring him down once and for all."

His words seemed distant, almost delusional. He was well aware of how he sounded, and to be honest he sometimes wondered if he was chasing after ghosts. That Faust could be behind almost all of the things that had gone wrong in his life, it sounded almost like a narcissistic justification for continuing the hunt for the Hunter that always seemed to elude him rather conveniently at the last second. But there was too much that he'd seen, evidence destoryed before others could get a look at it, messages taunting him. Everything pointed to this, here, and now. It was impossible that he was wrong.
