Nar Shaddaa

"We've got to get out of here Proc's... now. I'm heading to my ship. First chance I get I'm leaving. I will not put up with the Empire and their lackey's any longer. I had enough of that under Phillep."

The comm had been heard by all in the room. How the Empire had known of their location was beyond her, though Ki never wanted anything to do with those fools again.

"I'm going to contact Darkwatch... just in case. I want to find out how my sister is anyway. Good luck Rihn. And thankyou for what you've done so far. How the Empire knew where to find us is way beyond me. To suddenly show up and find someone here... needle in a haystack my foot."

She rolled her eyes before her gaze went to Proc's, after inclining her head towards Rihn. She slipped out the door, letting one of the guards escort her, even though she would have preferred to slip fully into the shadows as she headed back towards her ship. At least one good thing about this planet, if there was a force user above, her presence would be masked by the feel of the planet. All the pain and suffering of those that lived on the Smuggler's Moon would keep her own presence hidden.

She sent a message to Darkwatch, an encrypted comm on the frequency she had memorized from when she had borrowed the comm link from one of them. She told them about the Empire showing up and that she was going to make a break for it. She also wanted to know how her sister was, and if she had had her baby daughter yet.

Arriving at her ship, she slipped inside, going through the security measures and changing the transponder codes on her ship again so it wouldn't be traced back to her. As the Empires ships began landing, she took off from the hidden hangerbay in which she had her ship, making a break off the planet, sending her ship as far away from the Empire's vessels as possible, hoping to escape the interdictor ship. She had a fast ship, one that could withstand punishment. Knowing that the Empire would have used their interdictor, she didn't attempt yet to enter hyperspace, though had the random co-ordinates set ready to go as soon as she left it's influence. She was only one among many making a break from the planet.

~~

Elsewhere on the planet, a young twi'lek girl headed towards her own ship and took off. Those she had been staying with also joining the exodus of ships heading away from the planet now that the Empire had shown up. There were many that knew what the Empire was capable of doing and no one, none of the smugglers, the legitimate beings, the scoundrels were going to hang around and wait for the Empire to take action.

((Ok. I'm sorry. Dagon complained and had it change when I did it so I can do so, too. You can't know I'm here. That's OOC knowledge. My entire fleet is elsewhere. I came on Ki's vessel and the Empire never saw me leave on that vessel. I have interacted with no one that would have given away my position to the Empire. The demand for Rihn should be nulled. Plain and simple. You got to do a little more work than just using OOC knowledge to find me.))

OOC: If an interdictor is in a thread, no ship may leave the thread at all.

IC: *An order from the Emperor arrives via comm, and all further communications in the system are jammed. There will be no comms sent or received on Nar Shadaa until the Imperial Forces end their blockade.*

OOC: The only two places the Empire would have thought to look for you were Tatooine or Nar Shaddaa. You'd be a lot harder to find if you didn't hang out on those two planets.

IC:

Haphaestus was growing impatient.

Ten minutes had passed by already, and Rihn had not yet shown up. She would have ten more before he pulled his men out and ordered the orbital bombardment. That was quite the responsibility to have on one's shoulders. Could Rihn have the loss of billions of lives on her shoulders? Haphaestus doubted it--she was only human.

He would wait a little longer. He would hold to his word that she would have twenty minutes to turn herself in.

I've looked over the matter per a request and have made the following ruling.

There is now way the Empire can know, affirmiatively as IC knowledge that Rihn is on the planet.

That being said, they would have strong reason to suspect it at best, and as the planet is usually Hutt territory, any reprisals they make on the thread/planet rests with their willingness to act with cruelty and impunity, though leveling everything to set an example/flush one person out might be much even for them.

The Imperial fleet moved into standard orbital bombardment formation. Admiral MacLeod ordered the Interdictor Cruiser to crank the gravity wells on full. He didn't want to allow any ships to escape the planet. With that done, Luke ordered all Star Destroyers gunner pit crews to prep their weapons.

Once all gunner crews signalled thier readiness, Admiral Macleod stood at the forward view port. His hands were clasped behind his back as he awaited the command to fire all weapons at the pitiful excuse for a planet that he could see from his viewport. Personally he would rather just bombard the planet this instant, except for the fact that the Imperial Inquisitor was on the planet's surface.

Upon hearing the message, Rihn raises an eyebrow.

After seeing Ki and Procs off, Rihn commed her men on the surface. Shifting into male form, Rihn's mood as shifted to something more dark.

"The Empire crossed a thin line coming to Nar Shaddaa. Have the official government surrender immediately. Move all our people that we can into underground shelters. Prep the suits. I'll met you at factory D in the industrial sector. How many imperial soldiers do we have on the planet so far?"

The voice returned, "One hundred stormies."

"What about the windbag that's looking for me?"

"The inquisitor? Yes, he's at the capital."

A wide devious grin breaks across his face. However, the voice disrupts Rihn's moment.

"Other than that, We've received word that the Empire has already began preparation for their bombardment. And there is only one way they are going to call it off."

Rihn raises an eyebrow once again, "What are you implying?"

"Nothing. I'm just awaiting your next order..."

***

Eight minutes later, two stormtroopers lead a woman up the capital steps. With her hands cuffed behind her, the troopers meet the first guard. They salute.

"Rihn gave herself up peacefully. Inform the Inquisitor that she wishes to speak with him immediately regarding the terms of her surrender."

The stormtrooper that met them nodded. "He's waiting for you," he said, turning around to lead them into the building. A few moments later, they were standing before the Inquisitor, Haphaestus, who looked steadily through his helmet at them. The stormtrooper saluted to him. "The prisoner Rihn, turned in peacefully. He wishes to discuss terms of surrender with you."

The Sith Master walked around this person, who identified themself as Rihn. "In order to assure that you are who you say you are, understand that I must see identification and you must be able to prove who you are beyond all shadow of a doubt.

"We will then perform a background check. Only if you are truly the criminal Rihn will I accept your surrender and save Nar Shaddaa from its untimely fate."

Being released by her original two stormtrooper escort, the men shoved the woman forward. As the third stormtrooper introduced her, the woman stared at the fourth. It was the inquisitor.

"I had always imagined someone of such stature would be dressed in something more than a lowly stormtrooper uniform. It leaves a lot to be desired if you ask me."

With her hands locked firmly behind her back, the woman made it look nature, rather than a restraint. Pacing, she looked at the books on the shelf.

"So what do you think of our office room? Inside here you could almost forget that we are still on Nar Shaddaa. The book shelves, the desk with the leather seats, the portraits on the wall, the nice wood floors with fancy carpets. Surely the Empire treats you as well, don't they? Being that you are an inquisitor and all. You have an office like this, no? What's yours look like?"

They were certainly some interesting things to be said to him. Why on earth would this woman liken his armor to that of a stormtrooper? Was it an attempt to insult him? Was there any particular reason that an insult would have a desirable effect on him from her standpoint? Humans just didn't quite make sense to Haphaestus sometimes.

"Do not attempt to stall me," Haphaestus said directly. "It will do you no good, as communications have been jammed and hyperspace activity has been stopped altogether.

"Understand me--I need to know whether you are the criminal Rihn. If you do not provide identification and other means of proof, I will strike you down and send Nar Shaddaa up in flames," he continued. "Since you will not provide proof, I will have it taken from you."

He turned to the stormtroopers. "Search her." Two of them stepped forward and went through her clothing and ran their hands over her body in the old-fashioned way of doing things, scanners not the best way to find ID cards anyway.

While they were doing this, Haphaestus had his own means of finding her identity. At his disposal was the full power of the Dark Side of the Force, and he sent himself into deep concentration as he reached out and toucher her brain. No, it was more than just the physical touching of the brain, but a more intangible searching of the mind. She put up very little resistance to one of his power, and it would only take the Sith Master moments to determine whether this woman was the head of the Hutt empire. Memories would be sufficient.

OOC: I assume you're a fair enough RPer to post accurate results of both these searches in your next post?

((Eh, three day rule. Unfortunately, you still haven't given me the info that I need. ))

Memory: Library: Databank: Species: Changelings: There are several species of changelings in the galaxy, including Clawdites and Shi'ido, and many more are suspected to exist.....Changelings, while their shifting can become effortless, can not maintain their form when knocked unconcious or killed, thus reverting to their normal forms.

Haphaestus grew impatient with this Rihn, whether this was she or not. He reached out to her through the Force and took a solid hold of her body, making her unable to move. Drawing a lightsaber from his belt, he took one broad step up to her immobile self and struck her violently on the head, breaking skin and causing blood to run down her face as she fell unconcious to the ground.

((Now I just need you, Rihn, to post what happens next...))

As the stormtroopers searched her, they found almost nothing on her person. Not even weapons. However, they did find a card in one of her pockets. It had a few symbols and colors that were obviously related to the Hutts in some way. Undoubtedly, it was probably used to gain access to something, but what was a complete mystery.

"She's clean," one of them reported. "All we found was this card."

Meanwhile, the sith focused his mind probing technicies on her. She was not so easily swayed as she had obviously been given extensive training in the invasion of such techniques. She cluttered her mind with riddles and games, surfacing one contridicting memory after another.

"You don't really think you can invade my mind without a fight, do you? You really think the leader of the Hutts wouldn't be trained to with stand your repugnant interrogation methods?"

But even as she spoke, her head began to throb more and more as she blocked and parried his attempts. There was a definite sense about her that would suggest her was, in fact, Rihn. But nothing more than that was given away at this point. She was fighting him at every turn and liking it.

The sith's temper obviously shortened as he moved to something less evasive and more physical. There was a manacing look of terror hidden in her eyes as she tried to remain calm as he approached. Being rendered unconscious, the clawdite woman reverted back to her natural form.

Watching, one of the stormtroopers bent down to check her vitals. They were weak, but she was still alive. The trooper looked up at Haphaestus.

"Sir. She's still alive. What should we do with her?"

Hovering above system the droid made contact with the Bounty Hunter's network ignoring the outdated pursuit of a dead Grand Admiral and moved on to one which looked more divine and the amount paid to the one who brings him to justice will gain a hefty sum. Putting in the coordinates to where he was last seen at CR-34 made the jump to hyperspace.

Haphaestus smiled. "This is Rihn," he said to the stormtroopers. "I am aware of the fact that the prisoner is still alive. I intend to remedy that situation presently."

The lightsaber that was still in his hand lit with a familiar snap-hiss and the brilliant red blade slid to its full length. With a movement that rendered the blade a blur, the Sith Master sliced off the Clawdite's head, then tapped it with his boot to make it roll a few inches clear of the being's neck.

He then turned to the stormtroopers. "We're pulling out." Quickly, he activated a comm and contacted the Star Destroyers above. "Command ship, this is the Inquisitor. Commence orbital bombardment of all Hutt holdings. Rihn was wise to turn itself in--its death would have been much more painful if caught in the inferno that was its base of operations."

It does seem that Rihn has saved the rest of Nar Shaddaa, though. Haphaestus turned on his heel and headed back to his ship. As the bombardment commenced, he and his stormtroopers were making their exit and soon they were back aboard the Star Destroyers.

Moments later, the hutt holdings were reduced to flaming rubble, and Haphaestus ordered a few more shots just to make sure that it was absolutely gone.

Then, moments after that, the Imperials were gone, their mark made on Nar Shadda. Communication and hyperspace travel became possible once again, but Haphaestus was satisfied. They were on their way back to Imperial space.

Procs, had patiently been waiting for the Imerials to leave, mainly because he clearly had a job to do, had been hired to do it, and the Imperials had been blocking the hyperspace routes making it near immpossible for him to get away.

While his ship wasn't made for fast getaways and more for taking things head on, he much rather not take on the Empire in the bucket of bolts he was flying.

He sent a comm out to the lady he was suppose to guard.

-Comm-

"We are pulling out, meet me at these coordinates, they will serve as the relay point before we make the jump."

-end comm-

Shutting off his comm, he sent off the coordinates to her, before flying to that section of space himself. If he remembered correctly she was following him.

With the Imperials finally gone, one freighter piloted by a violet twi'lek girl and another space yacht left the space around Nar Shaddaa.

Ki received the message from Procs also receiving the co-ordinates. She punched them into her nav computer and sent her ship into hyperspace to the first jump point.

Nokrt's unhealthy and unnecessary shuttle entered the system of Nar Shadaa barely holding itself together. The bucket of bolts that it was the Sith Lord could no longer depend on its service to survive another jump through hyperspace. Nokrt wold not lose his life to the vaccuum of space, such would be an atrocity of astronomical proportions and an insult to his name. He had to find hmself a new ship and fast, something large, that can accomodate a group of beings if need be. A freighter, or small Frigate would do perfectly.

Nar Shadaa was the perfect place to make such a deal. With people pawning off their children left and right the opportunity to buy himself his own ship would be a simple task requiring no longer than a few strong minutes upon the planet's harsh force blind surface. The former chiss could hear the hatred, greed, and anger in the force imbue as he enter the syste of Nar Shadaa. The dark side was strong here and being in its presence felt only too perfect for Nokrt's soul.

The ship lowered to the planet making an extraordinary effort to make it to a landing pad without being destroyed. As frustrated as he was Nokrt could no longer deal with the idiocy of his ship and thrust his Red Sith Katana straight into its on board computer. Now that the machine had served its purpose to an end the Sith pawned it off for a good 21,000 credits within the hour. He didn't need the money, but having extra money is always a perk.

Moving through the catwalks and skyviews of Nar Shadaa, Nokrt came upon a dealer on an eastward dock to which held 5 ships. 2 were grand Nebulon B Frigates. Extremely large ships that Nokrt would not be able to command on his own. Then he saw it, a red striped Interceptor class sall Frigate. It was only 150 meters long and looked astounding. It was a bit choppy in places but it had once belonged to a spice runner so such is to be expected.

The dealer demanded a meager 350,000 credits for the ship and Nokrt paid with a tip for his service. Grabbing the ships information and beckon call Nokrt left for a dealer who would change be able to register his new ship as his and change its ID Signature. A Corellian man, who had expertice with CEC ships made quick work of Nokrts demands and thus the man was paid handsomely.

The Red Messiah

It had a nice ring to it and when Nokrt boarded the ship it indeed seem to be in need of repair. Seats were torn, and a good ceaning would do the ship some good. But he could worry about that later. For now Nokrt had other needs and desires, and some of those desires needed to be satisfied upon a planet he had only recently learned of. Kamino, this is said to be where the loyal Krath are organized and Nkrt himself beig of the Krath desired very much to go there and see what was in store for him. But hi power in the force was still deeply depleted. He needed to commit an act of cruelty. A Jedi had to die.

The ship departed from the dock and took a hyperspace trajectory to the nearest known Jedi populated system.

"OH THANK GOD!"

Julio didn't even take the time to lower himself down from the cockpit of the Mech, rather he jumped out, to be greeted by the steel floor of the landing pad she had chosen. With a slight lean forward, he turned the inevitable broken leg into an elegant roll.

"Mental note, never go into hyperspace with a quiet sixteen year old girl, with no room to move. Took years off me."

She lowered herself, not dignifying his comment with any retort. They got paid the docking fees, rather, he paid the docking fees with what little money he had left, and they made their way toward the middle of the sector.

"Well, I'm almost bust. We gotta get a place to crash and some work."

He took an involuntary stretch. He had been to Nar Shaddaa before, and for similar reasons, but this time it was different.

It's not only my skin I have to watch out for this time.

"So, what are you good at? Ignoring the fact that you have the body of a dancer, what career choice suits you best?"

There was nothing else he could really do. He had some skills at slicing and repair, but not enough to get him hired. He either had to be a muscle or get bounties. Eitherway, he needed another gun.

Rose muttered something about not being that quiet, just needing someone interesting to talk to but he didn't hear it and it wasn't a point that needed to be pressed. She stretched a bit, letting her muscles get used to being extended again. She ignored him for several minutes while stretching before checking to ensure her weapons were in their proper place.

”œWell, bounty hunting and dancing would be about it. At least, that's it in simple terms.”

Ah yes, food. Forgot I was hungry. Eh, I've gone without before. But it would be good to get something in me.

He followed her to a booth. He sat down and scanned the room, looking for the exits and familiar faces, as usual. He thought he saw a Duros he recognized, but they all just looked kinda the same to him.

The waiter came to their table. He just stood there, waiting for the order, not really giving off the "happy to see you here" face.

"We'll have two specials, and two Juma juice to go with that."

The waiter walked away, probably forgetting the order as fast as he heard it. He looked over at Rose, seeing a rather annoyed look on her face.

Damn, I must look like an ass. Who the hell am I to say what she wants? God. She doesn't deserve this. If I didn't think she couldn't make it here on her own, I would just leave her be.

Their drinks arrived before the food. He downed his and avoided her look.

"We can probably get jobs bounty hunting together. We shouldn't shoot for the large ones because the professionals around here are rather territorial. We'll be safe if we stick to the small jobs."

Rose's upper lip twitched as she glared at Julio. She felt her stomach flutter with anger at his order her meal and drink as if he had some call on what she wanted. He couldn't even meet her eyes when he realized his mistake.

She didn't touch the drink when it arrived, opting to take in the locals rather then drink something that he thought she would enjoy”¦even if she was thirsty. She began to fiddle with the band of her pants, considering leaving him here and going to find her own job around here to hire someone to help her go back to Roon and see to it that Mortati had an end put to him.

He saw her distain. She clearly was pissed.

F***. I'm not apologizing.

His food arrived, and suddenly he wasn't hungry.

God dammit, now I can't even eat. No, i'm not apologizing for a simple mistake. She should realize it was just a mistake.

She didn't touch her food either. He couldn't take it.

"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to order for you. It was a reflexive action. I don't normally eat with someone, I was just trying to simplify things. I didn't mean to offend you or anything. If you want, I can have it taken back, get you something else to drink. God, i'm an ass."

He took a long needed breath and looked away. His second Juma juice had arrived like clockwork and he downed it like the first. Before the waiter had a chance to turn away he caught him.

"Can i have a double Kashyyykan whiskey?"

The waiter nodded and strode off.

Rose titled her head forward and looked at him, trying to stifle a laugh. It had been a while since she had been around guys that were like him. She had forgotten how entertaining some of them could be. She took her drink and took a deep swig of it.

His anger flared.

What the hell is her problem. First she's angry for ordering for her, then she mocks me for apologizing. I will never understand women.

He just sneered. He got up, walking toward the front door. He passed his waiter on the way. He stopped to give Julio his drink. Julio paused, look back at Rose, trying to suppress yet another giggle. He swung upward at the waiter's hand, knocking the drink away, and continued toward the door. Outside, he leaned against the wall and lit up a cigarette.

I am so glad I got the blacks.

The smoke burned down his throat. It crackled as he took another hit.

Why are you getting so worked up about a girl?

He shook off the question and took another hit. He was feeling destructive. Reminiscing about the rather uncomfortable ride here, he remembered that his ship was still on Roon. He took another hit and closed his eyes, accessing the commands for his ship in his implant.

Access: Hyperdrive

Access: Temperature Control

Password: retribution

Turn Off Temerature Control

Bypass Security Code: Shadowstep

Code Confirmed. Shutting Down Temperature Control

There. The ship is all yours.

He laughed at the though of his ship eventually exploding from hyperdrive overheat. Teach them to take his ship. He hit the cigarette for a final time before throwing it down.

Now, where was I?

The planet had only just begun rebuilding since the Imperial bombardment. Fortunately, after the original annihilation of the planet's population, they had been better prepared this time around.

Still, the casualties were high and the damage great. Rihn had managed to stall long enough for most of his people and many others to relocate to more secure locations. The same, however, couldn't be said about the buildings.

Already, hundreds of workers began work on cleaning up the leveled cities. In the streets, however, the rumbling and grumbling of the citizens had already begun. Rihn had become a martyr and the hero of Nar Shaddaa. The fact that he was willing to surrender himself in order to save those on the planet, strangers, had a powerful impact on their minds. However, likely as powerful, the Empire's decision to make a martyr out of Rihn and still bomb the planet had gotten the people of Nar Shaddaa into a frenzy.

Now with family members, friends, leaders, and employers dead, the Hutt Cartel ranks exploded with an influx for people looking for revenge, heroism, patriotism, and glory. The words of the official announcement of Rihn's death became the mantra of the entire Hutt army.

"For Rihn! For Nar Shaddaa!"

Very predictably, tradegy and "heroism" combined to create a powerfully pervasive mindset within the Hutt people. Those who had previously sued for peace now screamed for war. Those who had hide from the Hutt recruiters now took up arms without hesitation. And all the while, the Hutt propaganda machine used this opportunity to further vilify the Empire and create a patriotic ferver against them.

This was their chance. The whole organization knew it. They would finally have the numbers to realistically staff larger spaceworth ships.

Opening communications with the shipyard orbiting Nar Shaddaa, Commander Orsa initiated a long range communication.

INCOMING TRANSMISSION

"This is Con Vez Technologies shipyard. How may I help you?"

"This is Commander Orsa of the Hutt Cartel. I would like to order the production of a series of warships for the Hutt fleet."

"Commander, the owners of CVT would like to thank the Hutt organization for your business. Currently, our production queries are full working on your current order. If you would like, we can take down your order, however, we ask that you keep this in mind."

"Wha...wait? Full? What current orders?"

"Several ships to be exact. You have no knowledge of this?"

"Uh... no! Who is ordering ships posing as the Hutt Cartel! Don't you idiots verify their authorization codes before you just start building your ships!"

"Sir," the woman's voice replied a little shaken, "Please calm down. The authorization codes were verified. I can send you the information if you would like."

"Yes! Of course I would like that! I want to know who the hell is ordering ships and who's access codes they are using!"

Commander Orsa paced as he waited for the data to be received. Grabbing the pad out of the hand of one of his officers, Orsa looked it over.

"Agent Tobias?" Orsa muttered to himself. "But I always thought... uh..."

There was a pause of silence until it was finally broken by the lady on the other side.

"Sir? Are you still there? Would you like us to cancel the order?"

"Uh... wait... uh... oh. Sorry," Orsa mumbled as he turned his attention back to the CVT receptionist.

"No... no... this... this clears.... it's good. It's good."

"You sound surprised. You should know that we at Con Vez Technologies would never process an order without going through all the proper channels and procedures."

"Uh... yes, yes. I'm sure you are right. It's nothing. My appologies for getting all worked up. I was not notified of this order. How long till the vessel is complete?"

"One week, sir."

"Ok. Thank you."

"Your welcome. Anything else?"

"No. No, that should be it."

"Well, thank you, sir. Have a nice day."

"Yeah. You, too."

END TRANSMISSION

Rose didn't bother trying to follow after him. If he wanted to have a hissy fit that was his prerogative. She quickly finished her meal and her drink, moving to the bathroom to clean up a bit. It wasn't anything to far out of the norm for her. It had been a while, at least a few days, since her last shower so she used a bit of soap she kept in one of her pockets for just such occasions like this (which happened more then she would admit) and cleaned up.

Five minutes passed before she stepped out of the refresher. He hadn't made his way back inside and for a moment she was curious if he had decided to leave her for good. Not that it'd be a problem, she had a ship and he didn't.

Her hand began to shake, more quiver. She closed her eyes and her teeth chattered. She knew what it was and had hoped that she had escaped it. She turned on her heel and rushed back into the refresher, rushing into one of the stalls quickly. She pulled all the stuff out of her pockets and tossed it onto the top of the toilet as she dug through it. She muttered an obscenity under her breath when she found the tiny bag and accidentally dropped it onto the ground.

She followed after them, grabbing each of the tiny spheres up and shoving the last one of the group into her mouth. It rolled down the length of her tongue and slipped down her throat, dissolving quickly and easing her mind. Once all of her stuff was loaded back into her pockets she moved out of the refresher only to find the bartender waiting for her.

”œYous goin' to pay me for that stuff Miss?”

Julio walked back into the cantina. Somehow, destroying something always seemed to calm him. She wasn't at the table. He didn't see her leave so she either dodged out the back or was still in here. He gave a scan of the cantina, spotting her at the entrance to the refresher. The bartender seemed to be striking up some conversation, and since most bartenders were cred-grubbing schuttas, he figured it was probably over their meal. He reached into his pockets only to find nothing more than a little lint. She came to the same conclusion when she spotted him across the room.

She's out of creds too. God-damn it. Alright.

He looked at the guy beside him. A devaronian just having a drink.

"What the hell did you say to me?" He was staring straight at the devaronian, eyes wide and fist clenched.

"What?! I didn't say anything to you!"

"Now you're calling me deaf? What the hell did I do to you?" He was right in the man's face now.

"You didn't do a god-damn thing! I was just having a drink when you..."

Julio didn't give him a chance to finish. Straight to the face. His fist had found it's mark. The devaronian fell out of his seat, clutching his nose.

"You mother...."
